The Perfect Man #4

The Perfect Bachelor

Rate this book
Welcome to Cape Kismet, where the neighbors are nosy, the bookstores offer an escape, and epic romances abound.

A little change? Try a whole new life.
I thought I was moving to a sleepy little town where nothing interesting happens. Taking on the care of my teenage brother wasn’t in the plans. Neither was getting into an argument with the charming man at the bookstore my first week in town. We fought, we fell—physically, not figuratively—we left. End of story.
Or, it should have been.
When I show up to a job interview, I’m ready to prove I’m good at what I do, to be taken seriously as a professional woman.
Then he’s there. The man from the bookstore. Greyson Amore.
Game over, right? It would have been if he didn’t want to hire me. And I needed the job. I could do this. I could keep my distance, ignore Grey’s disarming smile, and work for him.
Somewhere along the way, lost in a world of pranks with plants and potatoes, delicious tacos, and a restaurant with a ridiculous legend I forget what we’re supposed to be to each other. I forget to be annoyed, to deny him my smiles and friendship.
But there’s a reason this town calls him the perfect bachelor.
I was warned, urged to stay away.
Too bad I’ve always hated being told what to do.

The Perfect Bachelor is book four in the Perfect Man romantic comedy series. Dive in for plenty of swoons, lots of laughs, and a guaranteed HFN ending.

Sadie Wells moves from New York to Cape Kismet in Florida to take care of her 17 year old brother Ryan, after their parents kicked him out. In order to provide for them both Sadie needs a job. In New York she worked as a paralegal, and as it happens, Grey Amore, the town's only laywer, is hiring. But can Sadie work for this charming, yet arrogant, man?

I love Sadie's way of standing up to people! At the same time she's insecure in her new role as caregiver to her brother, and that makes her very human. Their alcoholic parents kicked Ryan out when they found him kissing another boy, and that makes me so mad! I will never understand such a thing!

Grey is Ellie's (from the first book) brother, who quit his job at a law firm in New York when he found out his co-workers were homophobes. Grey's been in the periphery in the earlier books, and I've been looking forward to reading his story. He's known as the "perfect bachelor", afraid of commitment, but happy with his choice. Until he meets Sadie, of course... His change of heart is not instant, though, and it makes it more realistic.

This is the fourth and final book in the series and I will miss these friends in fictional Cape Kismet. It feels like I really got to know them, and I have enjoyed my time with Ellie, Cruz, Kennedy, Hadden, Cecilia, Harley, Sadie and Grey. Now I have to find a new gang to hang out with!

Unlikable heroine. Too judgmental and loved to jump to conclusions.
If I am in need of a job and I finally get it and if my boss gives me work which doesn't really fall in my JD then I am not going to go and give him attitude stating that I wont do the work, especially if its my second day on the job. I would either wait for a few more days or would tell him politely. But the heroine did exactly that.
She would be jealous of the hero going on dates and act cold towards him and snap at him if he would try to talk to her. It was so annoying to read, either accept that you like him or atleast have the decency to not behave like a jerk. It was not like they were in a relationship and he had to answer to her.She decides that he is just like other men because she hears from the town gossip that he had gone on a date with someone who was into Dom stuff. No introspection on how he had helped her, how he had behaved with her brother, which by the way, she saw first hand and not from some random town gossip and even if he did go on a date then what difference did it really make. He was still her boss and he could do whatever he wanted in his personal life.

I am okay with push and pull or acknowledging that there is some tension but cant act on it, but I am not okay with reading about someone who behaves like the heroine.
The only time she was bearable was with her brother.
At this point I really don't care if she somehow has a change of heart because unfortunately she is going to end up with the hero either way.

In this story, which is the last in the series, we get to follow along with Grey and Sadie. Sadie has returned to Florida, moving to Cape Kismet, after leaving New York. She hates Florida and isn't thrilled to be back but she came back for her brother, Ryan. Ryan called Sadie up one night as he is 17 and was kicked out by his parents. So Sadie dropped everything, including her budding legal career for him, now they have to start over in this small town.

Grey is a character we meet in previous stories (Ellie's brother). He's a lawyer and back in Cape Kismet because of his coworkers in New York having an issue with a gay employee, so he quit. He loved his job and was sad to go but he has an optimistic outlook for the future, where he starts his own law firm.

Fantastic drama ensues when one character is desperate for a job and the other is desperate for an additional employee. There is definitely no smooth sailing where these two are concerned and it's fantastic to read!

I was so pleased to see that grey got his own HEA. He was always a fantastic and fun supporting character and that continued with him as the main male character. Sadie was a feisty and sarcastic woman who definitely had a soft side that was sweet to read. Her love for her brother is what really made her real for me and I loved their dynamic. I would love to read more about Ryan as I found him a lot of fun too.

The descriptions were amazing and you really felt like you were there. The banter and wit in this book really had me laughing out loud and at one point I was doubling over with laughter. A really cute read that you can enjoy at any moment.

THE PERFECT BACHELOR by Lynn Dare is the fourth book in the lighthearted THE PERFECT MAN series. It follows the romance of committed bachelor and lawyer, Grey Amore (brother of Ellie from the series’ first book), and new Cape Kismet FL resident and paralegal, Sadie Wells. Grey is the only lawyer in town, and since his business is growing, he needs to hire an assistant. Sadie has just moved to town to provide a home for her gay 17-year-old brother after he's been kicked out of their parents’ home. She needs to find a decent job, pronto, and applies for the assistant position. The H and h originally meet at the local bookstore, where Grey tries to charm Sadie. She’s not interested, much to Grey's dismay, especially since he’s not used to being turned down. So they are surprised when she shows up to interview at Grey's office. Both are wary of the other, but through work, they begin to know and trust one another.

PROS:
1. Both Grey and Sophie are fun, well-written characters. They each have their faults, but they are caring individuals who grow throughout the book. Characters from the other books in the series show up here too and provide advice and some comic relief.
2. Most of the story's characters are people I'd like to know. They tease and support each other, and are overall good people.
3. The story is lighthearted but deals with some serious issues too, like responsibility for your actions (even for teenagers), believing in yourself, coming to terms with your past, and fear of commitment.
4. No instalove. Yay!

CONS:
None that I found.

SUMMARY: THE PERFECT BACHELOR is a fun, well-paced and lighthearted story dealing with some serious issues, and it’s a great addition to THE PERFECT MAN SERIES. The main characters leap off the page and are people you’d like to know, and the secondary characters are there to give support and sometimes questionable advice. If you like character-driven stories or books featuring small town romances, then you’ll definitely want to buy THE PERFECT BACHELOR.

Grey and Sadie's story.

Despite this book having several LOL scenes, it does deal with parents who should have never had children and a gay teenager being bullied and physically attacked.

Cape Kismet refers to Greyson "Grey" Amore as the perfect bachelor.
Extensive dating history? ✔
Extensive one-night stands? ✔
Plans to marry? No way, Jose!!
Change his feelings about a serious relationship? Maybe?/Yes?

Grey has moved his law practice back to his hometown of Cape Kismet. His sister, Ellie, is dating his best friend, and all of his friends seem to be finding their significant others. Despite his no-second-date policy, he's beginning to envy them. Deep down, he wants to find someone to love who will love him as much as he'll love her. There's something about the beauty he ran into at the bookstore that intrigues him.

Sadie Wells has given up her life in NYC to return to Florida to rescue her seventeen-year-old brother, Ryan. He called her in the middle of the night when he had no place to stay after their parents had kicked him out. They had just discovered he was gay. Within a few hours, she'd quit her job and was on her way back to the state she hated and swore she'd never return to.

She's moved them to Cape Kismet. Ryan will be able to continue with the traveling football league he belongs to. There's a good chance he can earn a college scholarship. His team may accept gay team members, but some of the students at his new school aren't as accepting.

Unlike their parents, both Sadie and Ryan believe that hard work and education are the keys to success in life.

Sadie has hopes of someday becoming a lawyer. As a paralegal at her former job, she had seen how lawyers had made a difference in the lives of people. Now she just has to find a job. Hopefully, her upcoming interview will go well and she'll be hired.

After a disastrous meeting at the local bookstore involving Grey, she's not ecstatic to find he might be her new employer. But a job is a job and she certainly needs the money. Maybe he's not the jerk she thought he was. Then again...

This is the 4th and final installment in The Perfect Man series and I'm so sad! I've loved each and every book! These characters have all stolen my heart and I'm going to miss them!

In this story we get to follow along with Grey and Sadie. Sadie has moved to Cape Kismet in Florida. She hates Florida but moved back here for her brother, Ryan. Ryan is 17 and gay...because of that their parents want nothing to do with him and kicked him out. Their parents certainly won't receive parents of the year award because they've been drunks pretty much all of Sadie and Ryan's life. Sadie quit her paralegal job in New York to come take care of Ryan, hoping one to to become a lawyer.

We met Grey in previous stories (he's Ellie's brother). He's a lawyer and back in Cape Kismet because of his coworkers in New York having an issue with a gay employee, so he quit. It was hard to quit, but he's stashed away enough money that he'll be fine...he'll just start a law practice in Kismet.

Ryan and Sadie go in to check out the books (and brownies) at Lovern's place. It's there that Sadie has a Grey encounter. They didn't get off on the right foot (lol) and she instantly dislikes his attitude. He's gorgeous, but hey, looks can only go so far when you think you're God's gift to women.

Sadie desperately needs a job and is ecstatic to find a paralegal opening. However, when she goes on the interview, who would she be working for but none other than Grey! Will she accept the job knowing she can't stand the man? Or will she do the right thing and take the job so her and Ryan can have a roof over their head an eat?

I loved this story! So many ups and downs between Said and Grey! The bantering between the two made me love their story even more! This whole series was wonderful!

The Perfect Bachelor is the fourth and final book in The Perfect Man series. This book was laugh out loud funny but also sweet and witty. I was wondering who Grey would get with since you meet most of the town in the first couple books.
Sadie had to come back to town to take care of her brother since their parents are not good people. She runs into Grey in the bookstore and he literally knocks her over after she tells him off.
I love the camaraderie between the girls and how they welcome Sadie in immediately. The guys are also super funny and get along great.
They also included Ryan like family and I loved how fast Grey was taken with him. The LGBT was a big bonus in this story and how welcoming and open everyone was. Ryan’s parents may not have been welcoming or understanding but his boyfriends parents were and so were Sadie and Grey. They loved him and just wanted to see him happy.
I enjoyed Sadie and Grey’s relationship and how she didn’t take any crap from him and was able to dish it back.
I didn’t think Sadie was always professional at her job but she knew he couldn’t find anyone else to hire and didn’t seem to mind her attitude besides when she was mad at him.
I also didn’t think the whole dominatrix chapter was necessary or Sadie getting that mad at him for it but it added drama to the story and made it more adult.
I do recommend this series and the authors who wrote it!

Grey, the male lead, has been a secondary character in previous stories in this series. I have watched him and wondered if he’d already met his match and would be revealed but instead she’s someone totally new. Sadie, the female lead, has moved to protect her brother, Ryan, from homophobic attackers, including their parents. I felt that this was handled sensitively and yet realistically and I really enjoyed Ryan as a secondary character and was pleased with the resolution of his situation.

Grey was cute to watch - a dedicated playboy becoming insecure and I confident in the face of his own desire for a relationship when he’d genuinely never had one before. Both main characters underwent a huge amount of individual development as they created their relationship and it was lovely to see them be honest with each other about their insecurities. And the secondary characters provided great support too.

The story is dual POV, well written, sweet but not clean, and a fun read with some genuinely chuckleworthy moments as well as real heartfelt moments too

Sadie and her brother Ryan thought they were moving to a quiet little town near the coast. That is until Sadie meets the charming and handsome Grey at the bookstore... and then again at her job interview. But that's okay, she's been warned to stay away from the "perfect bachelor" as the town calls him. But the heart wants when the mind doesn't.
Greyson Amore is the perfect bachelor. He owns his own house, runs his own business, and is charming and handsome. He's never considered settling down. That is until literally everyone around him pairs up and a new girl shows up in town.
So what happens when the perfect bachelor and the girl who wants to be left alone end up working in the same office?

The only thing I hate about writing reviews for this series is that I read them too quickly to take decent notes so I can write a reasonable review. Seriously, the only note I have written down is "Love the sibling relationship". That's it. That aside, I love reading these books and I am sad to be saying goodbye to Cape Kismet. I loved the character of Ryan, Sadie's younger brother by about 10 years. I love how Sadie stepped up and took her brother in when he was kicked out.

I love this author! The serial dater, Greyson, and Sadie, the independent loner, who has left New York to look after her teenage brother. Grey is terrified of relationships, he’s only ever had one night stands, but something about Sadie has him wanting more and he doesn’t understand it so he fights it. Sadie has never had anyone care for her, not even her own parents, until she up-ends her entire life to take in her brother after their parents kick him out. These siblings have a great relationship and are happy with their new life together and the love they share. Sadie is drawn to Grey but town rumours, and the self doubt they both experience keeps getting in the way. This is the fourth book in the series and those loveable characters from previous books help these two along. A hilarious scene involving plants and another at a legendary local restaurant are typical of this author. A great read.

Really enjoyable story, I really like Sadie x Grey. They have really great chemistry and they work. Grey being the sarcastic one and Sadie being laid back.

Sadie is a girl from Florida originally that grew up with her brother, Ryan. She moved to New York to pursue her dream as a paralegal.

Ryan is a teenager who got kicked out of his house because he is gay. Being not quite 18, he turns to his older sister to help him out. She moves back to Florida to move to Cape Kismet. Being jobless, she applies as a paralegal at Grey’s new business.

Grey is a bachelor attorney that loved his job in New York. He worked really hard to become partner with the company he worked with until one day he found out his coworkers were talking trash about another coworker being gay. He up and left to stay with his sister Ellie in Cape Kismet. He goes about starting his own law firm and hires on Sadie.

It’s really adorable and a great way to end the series! I wanted all the people in the story to find someone special and it seems like it happened the way they should! I can’t wait to find out more series from Lynn Dare or if there will be more in Cape Kismet!!

Sadie FTW!

I think Sadie turned out to be my favorite heroine in the series. Frankly, I'm a bit surprised at that since I adore the other ladies as well. Still, Sadie holds a special place in my heart.
I thoroughly enjoyed following Sadie and Grey on their reluctant journey to their HEA, and I appreciate how some romance clichés were turned on their heads (first date at Kismet, anyone?).

I do have one tiny complaint, though (YMMV): The slapstick felt a bit too much at times for me, and it wasn't always easy to distinguish between the "voices" of the four guys.

Still, I'm sad to see another fun series come to an end. I've grown very fond of Cape Kismet and its people, especially this group of friends. I would certainly enjoy reading more stories set in this world!

When she moves to a small town to take care of her younger brother, she never expected an argument in a bookstore.
Attending a job interview takes a turn when that man is there.
Grey actually wants her as his staff and his charm can be ignored... Right?
Getting closer and forgetting whose role is what, she has put the warning about him to the back of her mind.
He's the perfect bachelor for a reason.

The story is hot on the eyeballs with plenty of laughs, there is a realistic theme to this that makes the story deeper.
The argument in the bookstore was a laugh til you keel over type moment that made the book.
Sadie and Grey have full voltage electricity between them that just could hurt one of them.
A pleasing story with heat and passion.

Sadie and Grey were going at it right from the very beginning and didn't need Kismet to seal their fate. She couldn't hide her jealousy and he was so clueless until his friends and sister and a stranger helped him see what was right in front of him. Their beginnings couldn't have been more different but I think that helped them appreciate each other more. I loved how his friends and sister joked around and had fun at each others' expenses!! The one sensitive subject matter of her gay brother...It's a sin no matter how it's portrayed. Both of them stepping up to support him and show him love despite his faults was the right thing to do. We all have perfect flaws at the end of the day and only one judge at the end of time.

This is book 4 in Dare's The Perfect Man series. Our main characters are Sadie Wells and Grey Amore. Sadie moves from NY uprooting her life and up and coming paralegal career to small town Kismet, FL to take care of her younger brother. In order to do that she needs to find a job and luckily for her the only lawyer in town happens to be hiring (she's a paralegal). That may just be where her luck ends as Grey is as arrogant as he is attractive. Is Sadie going to be able to care for her brother, start life over and work for this "perfect bachelor"? Well written with great characters - Grey we've met in previous books in this series. Love the sweet and steam as well as the humor. Sad to know this is the last in the series but excited to see what Dare will write next!

Sadie leaves NYC for Cape Kismet, Florida when she gets a frantic call from her brother - their parents kicked him out when they found out he was gay. She is a paralegal and when she arrives at the interview, it is the same guy that hit on her at the bookstore, but she will take the job and smile. Grey returns to his home town as a lawyer and also likes to be funny. Loved the characters, their personalities, backstories, sassy banter and entertaining situations. The storyline deals with a lot of issues, like bullies, gays, parents with issues, standing up for what you believe in, and more and they are treated well. The chemistry and feelings change as the ending pulls it all together into a solid relationship.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is the fourth and last book in The Perfect Man series. Grey is a long standing bachelor in Cape Kismet. Sadie has moved back to take over the care of her little brother. Greyson has finally met his match in Sadie. Their relationship starts off a little unsteady and then she discovers that he is her new boss. There is some drama, mainly pertaining to Ryan, but they get thru it together. The story also has plenty of humor and chemistry between Sadie and Grey. I hated to see the series end, but I am glad that they finally found what they needed in each other

4-stars for The Perfect Bachelor

This whole series including book 4, The Perfect Bachelor, is well written, amazing and makes the reader feel part of their small town. While I wasn't thrilled this book ended in what I feel is a HFN instead of a HEA, it doesn't mean I didn't thoroughly enjoy Grey & Sadie's story. Hopefully, the author's also plan to add to this series with Cay story. But regardless, I would definitely recommend The Perfect Bachelor as well as all four books in this series!
Even though I did receive an advanced review copy of this book, I also purchased the book/read with Kindle Unlimited and am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited opinion with my voluntary review.

This series needs to continue!! I have fallen in love with the characters, the drama, the angst, the Florida scenery...yep, all of it! I love the author's style of writing, her wit, her banter, etc. I can't help but want more, I want to be real life friends with the characters. I want to eat Tacos, and read in the bean bags at the bookstore...

So, in case you didn't get it yet, I love this book and the entire series. The reader doesn't have to read them in order, BUT they are so good, so I would recommend it! I would 100% start with book 1 and keep going! I can't wait to see what this author writes next! It is just that good -

Don't hesitate to add this one to your TBR list today and move it right to the top! A Must Read and a must read now!!

In the last book we got a taste of Greyson Amore who is set in his bachelor ways. He did not disappoint with his fight against falling for the girl (Sadie) and finding that in the end he wanted it all with her. Along the way we get to enjoy the characters that we met in the other three books who all stick together to make a quirky, fun group of friends and family.
Would recommend this series as they are all well written, there are quirky side characters, a nice build up of romance and just enough hot chemistry between the love interests to make it interesting.

I wasn't sure if player Grey would ever settle down and he definitely shows his fears every time he thinks about commitment and feelings stronger than lust in this book. But Sadie has her own issues growing up with her negligent drunken parents and does her share of backing away too. Her younger brother Ryan was a riot and so strong having to deal with all the horrible bullies in school. I loved catching up with the characters from the previous books in this series who take Sadie and Ryan into their inner circle. There were plenty of laugh out loud and some sweet moments that show Grey's tender side in addition to the jokester.

Grey and Sadie’s story was so great! I loved the dynamic and the way these two were written. Grey is the only attorney in this little town and in desperate need of a legal assistant/paralegal, so ends up hiring Sadie.
Considering that these two had a run in previously, were Grey tried hitting on here makes this match even more delightful because you know it is going to be interesting.

But the story itself it heartwarming. Sadie moves to town to take care of her brother after he is kicked out of their parents home.
They address relationship issues while maintaining a lightness.

If you have read the other books in this series, you'll love this book with Grey and Sadie! Grey is THE bachelor out of all his friends. There is romance, laughter and friendship. Sadie is the type of person that will give Grey a new outlook to his bachelorhood. Will he remain a bachelor or will he finally get the one thing that his friends want for him? Will he turn his back on love or will he embrace it?

Overall a great book! Loved every page and Grey is hot and definitely book boyfriend material.

The Perfect Bachelor is the fourth book in the serie an can act as a standalone.

Sadie is back in the town of Cape Kismet because their parents never had really taken care of both of them and things went worse when Ryan told them is gay. She's in need of a job and end up working for the town bachelor, Grey. She wants to keep her distance from him and since he's her boss thing could get really weird and Grey not the kind of guys to settle.

I have really loved reading their stories. I have received an arc of this book from the author and booksprout.

Great funny story, with great characters
I liked the previous book, and the character of Grey was quite funny. I was not disappointed by this lawyer, womanizer, who runs into a woman who even attracted, resists him very strongly, when she becomes his employee.
I really liked the beginning of the first chapter : I found very moving the introduction in the story of Sadie and her brother. The book is essentially funny, cute, but also moving, especially regarding the situation of Sadie's brother.

I loved Greyson even before his story came out.
He was begging for his own book from day 1.
I loved how he had to find him to find Sadie.
And Sadie had to learn what trust really meant.

This was such a cool series. I'm glad I read each of the books in it and fell in love with all the characters. There was enough sweetness, sass, bromance, and drama to keep the story fun from the first page to the last.

Cute Story . . .

Sadie has moved back to take care of her little brother after her parents tossed him out when he told them he was gay. Greyson, a lawyer, has a rough beginning when he first encounters Sadie. But he ends up hiring her as his paralegal. There is a little drama, but it all turns out fine.

The reader will enjoy the humor in the story line, and the attraction that becomes glaringly obvious between Sadie and Grey will keep you smiling. Will the two of them start a relationship? Or will they fall back on the boss/employee caveat?

Sadie moves to a little town so that she can take care of her younger brother. There she meets Greyson, and though there is an attraction, their first meeting wasn't the best impression, nor the second. Somehow, Sadie ends up working for Greyson and sparks fly. There are so many laughs but also some sad and sweet moments in this story. I found it quite entertaining and really enjoyed hearing about past couples.

I’ll be sad to leave this small town and it’s close knit community. Great friends are hard to come by, but not here!

Sadie is new to town. She moved from New York back to Florida for her little brother, not so little anymore at seventeen. They may not have much, but having each other is more important.

Just about the first person she meets is a jerk! All she wants is some quiet time in the bookstore, not to be hit on by some smooth talking man, even if Grey is gorgeous.

Sadie is a paralegal in need of a job. Grey is the only lawyer in town. What sort of sparks will fly when these two share an office?

When Sadie’s teenaged brother finds himself kicked out of the house, Sadie uproots her life in NYC for raising him in a quiet little Florida town.

Men are not on her radar, even when she meets sexy, charming Grey in a bookstore! Days later they meet again, this time when Sadie is interviewing for a job, as Grey’s paralegal!

Sparks soon fly, but are they good sparks, or bad sparks?

The Perfect Bachelor is an easy read, with entertaining characters and fun banter, a great way to spend a few hours.
