This is my first time reading Kat Singleton.
And boy Talk about falling in Love!
This woman! This book and The characters have my heart!
Nash and Nora are one of my favorite character ever now.
The little details author added(like the character's telling each other some small facts about themselves or the way the kept looking at each other at random moments) is basically cherry on the top❣️
This book stamped on my heart but I Still thank it for that❤️
The angst, the heartbreak, the push and pull, it kept me on my toes. This book so swiftly made it to my all time favorite list❤️
If you like Rockstar romance don't even think twice. If you like angst READ IT!, If you love the push and pull then GO READ IT!
Basically I cannot recommended this enough! ❣️✨

I am a new reader to Kat Singleton, and I am SO glad I choose to read this book. Although rockstars are my guilty pleasure, this book had layers that took us beyond music. So many emotions are running through a read I had a hard time putting down. Nash and Nora are captivating, very entertaining; their banter, plus amazing chemistry, kept me turning pages.

Nora is a backup dancer on Nash’s tour, but she has a little extra in her contract. My apprehension in the deception grew as backgrounds are revealed, and the two get closer. Secrets are never a good thing. Will they come out of this hurting more? Can he open his black heart?

I am glad I took the chance on this author; I recommend this read!

Thank you to Netgalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

I felt like I was reading a story on Wattpad.. which, don’t get me wrong, I like Wattpad.. but the reviews gave me high hopes for this one and it was severely lacking in a few things.

The plot is a great one, but the execution was SO boring.

It felt extremely immature.. I’m not sure how to explain it other than my new adult brain was cringing at how naïve it was. The language and actions had me eye rolling a lot.

It just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Of course, if you are looking for a romance with subpar mental imagery and boring MCs then I think you may enjoy it.

It’s short so it won’t waste too much of your time.

(ARC provided in exchange for review)

It's been a few hours so let's get a proper review out.

I have read Kat's other books and loved them but this one I feel like is definitely her best work to date.

What I love about Kat's stories is getting to see both main characters on their own before they finally get together and you get a chance to know them and understand them.
On one hand, we have Nora, a dancer dealing with the trauma of her past while chasing her dreams who gets the opportunity of a lifetime but with a catch, then we have Nash who's a singer that's a shell of a person he once was after a broken heart leads him down a rough path.

Their story felt so real and grounded making me extremely emotional when it came to them opening up to one another and learning to overcome each of their own demons. And as always with Kat's stories, the slow burn aspect really makes it even better and feels truly organic.

I also loved the side characters from Riley and Ziggy to Nash's band members and bodyguards (praying for a story about Riley and Bash) that sort of had a "found family" element that made the story even better. But I especially loved the introduction of Nora's sister and I would absolutely love it if we got to learn more about her in a possible book as well.

Overall, this was an amazing story from Kat and it's in the running for one of my favorite books of the year so far.

I love this book. So much.
It was a breath of fresh air in the musician romance genre.
This could have been super cheesy and dramatic and full of clichés but instead we got raw and real characters that you like pretty easily and will root for them from start to finish.
And not only our main characters were awesome but our side characters were *chef's kiss* amazing! So amazing I'm going to need Sebastián and Ziggy and Riley's book asap.
The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because I wanted more in the end and I didn't like the villain but overall it was fantastic.
This is an slow burn romance story with small bits of drama and a lot of fun.
So so good and I fully recommend it.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I try to shake the gnawing feeling of falling - and what that could mean for me, him, and the impossibility of an us.

This was my first experience reading anything from Kat Singleton. When I read the synopsis for this book, I knew that I had to dive in as soon as possible and I'm super thankful that I was able to receive an ARC in exchange for a review.

This book was a rollercoaster of feelings, so buckle up and prepare yourself because you're in for a ride. Without giving anything away, Nora is a dancer that is hired on to be a backup dancer on Nash's tour but she's also been hired to make him fall in love with her and to then break his heart so that he can drop a killer album based off of his heartbreak. I mean, I should just throw the synopsis your way and let it speak for itself.

This story was so unique. I literally felt so many different emotions while reading this book and enjoyed the entire ride that was Founded on Goodbye. Nora is a really great character who struggles with her moral compass all throughout the book. Nash will literally make you fall in love with him. And Kat Singleton really just wrote their story wonderfully.

The only complaint that I have is that I wish certain things towards the end of the book had been explored a little more but overall I really enjoyed this book and the way that Nash & Nora's story panned out!

tropes: rockstar romance

she's hired to break his heart, so he can write better songs. they become friends and the rest is history.

Even though the last book I read I DNF, and I said that I wouldn't read any more books based on the author's tik tok, I decided to give it another chance, what could go wrong?
in this author's tik tok, she said this book was steamy and angsty.
was it steamy? not as I was expecting, the sex scenes were meh.
was it angsty? it had more angst than a Lauren Blakely book, but it wasn't AGNST! if someone says a book is angsty, I want a lot of angst.

as I'm writing this I still have 30 pages left, but I'm just gonna skim through it because since the book started I was waiting for the moment he finds out the truth and that's not good. i think maybe if the author kept the fact that she was hired to break his heart as a secret from the reader too, maybe I would've been shocked when he finds out, but since I knew it since chapter one it was just a matter of when.

THIS BOOK!! As a first time reader of Kat Singleton, I didn’t have many expectations, but WOW!! So good!! How would I describe this book? HEART-ACHINGLY BEAUTIFUL!! With every chapter you read, you grow closer to each character and feel the wave of emotions that each of them feels. This book will definitely give you all the good kind of butterflies! If you love love & a good twist, you will fall in love with Nash Pierce and Nora Mason in Founded on Goodbye.

Founded On Goodbye was my first book this author and I am thrilled that I took a chance as her writing, the story, and the characters in this book are spectacular! Pop/Rockstar romances is a favorite trope of mine and I have to say that this book is remarkably well written with a solid & entertaining plot and enchanting characters. This was a relatively quick read and I found myself so captivated that I completely devoured the book!

Nora is an exceptional dancer and when the opportunity to join the tour arose, she realized that she couldn’t let this chance slip by even if it came with an unpalatable caveat. While the blurb is what first drew me in, it also made me question if I would like Nora. Could I truly like a heroine who accepts an offer that involves destroying an already broken musician? The answer is yes! I didn’t always necessarily approve of her choices, but the way the author portrayed her character and provided the reader with some insight made me realize that she is not just some dancer looking for fame. While her character is relatively well developed, I do feel that there were a few elements that needed to be flushed out a little more such as the build up to her past. Nonetheless, I really grew to love her.

As for Nash, this troubled popstar comes across as a jerk in the beginning, but I adored him! In possession of a damaged soul, Nash struggles with rediscovering his passion for music. At times he is a train wreck waiting to happen but he is also a man that is much more complex and vulnerable than he appears to the world. The author beautifully illustrates just how greatly fame can affect a person and has created a perfectly flawed hero that will win you over.

Now Nash and Nora are magnificent together! They have some immaturity about them at times, but it is also expected given their ages (I believe very early 20s). Sparks do fly between them, but they also have a connection on a deeper level. The heartache and angst had me clutching my chest and I was on the edge of my seat with heart palpitations waiting for the secrets to be revealed and for the aftermath. After all, can such deception be forgiven? Or can a love so deep and strong lead to forgiveness and even healing? Can a love founded on goodbye conquer all?

Founded On Goodbye is an enjoyable read that was entertaining from beginning to end. The story is well written and while some areas I would have liked a more in-depth look, I still found this to be a fantastic read that check-marked all of my rockstar/popstar romance boxes. Nash and Nora were likable characters individually, but together they were something special. I really enjoyed how this author told their story and I cannot wait to read more books by her!

Overall rating: 4.5 stars

I voluntarily read an early version of this novel. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

I absolutely and positively fell in love with this book from the very first verse.
This was the first book I ever read by Kat Singleton and I knew without a shadow of a doubt by about 25% in I would forever be an instant one-clicker. The fact that I am not normally a rockstar/fame romance type of person and this story sucked me right in told me all I needed to know. I had the giggles and butterflies like a little school girl when Nash and Nora had their back and forth banter in that hallway when they officially met. The instant attraction between the two seemed so real that there were times I had to sit my kindle down to cool myself off.
(I mean, THAT FIRST KISS. COME ON)

When Nash and Nora finally got together, the kisses, the sex, even the on stage chemistry was SHOW STOPPING.

At first I wondered HOW they were going to pull this off. My heart was secretly breaking the more the story progressed because I just LOVED Nash's character so much I did not want this charade to go on anymore. He was so relatable even though he was suppose to be this elusive popstar. I just wanted it all to end and them to ride off in the sunset. The end. Story over.

While I want to say so much more on this story and just give all my thoughts away, I dont want to spoil anything. Just dive right in and take a chance on an author you may not have ever read before. I did and I am so glad.

Founded On Goodbye - Kat Singleton

Nora is an up and coming dancer. When someone approaches her with a very interesting offer, she finds it very hard to say no.
Nash is the king of music and anyone in Noras position would jump at the chance she’s given. Despite being hesitant, she accepts the proposition and embarks on a journey of emotions she was never quite ready for.

Nash feels controlled.. He left a band behind because he wanted to be in charge of himself and his music, but it’s slowly starting to go down the wrong path again. He despises it and feels burned out.
He is adamant that he doesn’t want dancers on his tour, yet can’t seem to not be fascinated with Nora..

When secrets are revealed and exposed, everything comes crashing down around them. But maybe things are a little more complicated than they first seen to be

‘We didn’t just break his heart, we crushed his soul’

The story started slow, but it’s worth it because we really got to know Nash and Nora in depth before it all went down. Their development throughout the story is on point! Sure, Nash is a giant douche, but considering what he’s been through you can’t blame him. And who doesn’t want to be the one to ‘fix’ the broken boy?
I usually am not into the rock/Popstar genre and FOG is only the second book in this trope that I’ve really enjoyed.

I loved Founded On Goodbye and I am amazed that Kat managed to write it while taking care of a newborn baby!

Overall: ****/5
Genre: NA Contemporary Rock Star Romance
Romance: ****/5
Steam: ***/5
Reading Rate: *****/5 I finished the book in a single day
Recommend if you liked: Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas

The story hits the ground running with Nora accepting a “deal with the devil” so to speak to move her career forward and try to outrun her own demons.
Pros:
- Fast paced and engaging story, there was never a dull moment
- I loved the premise of the dancer and the musician, I wish I could hear some of Nash’s music in real life
- Even though I knew what was coming from Page 1 of the book my heart still want not ready! This was for sure a “hurts so good” book
- The story for being short and fast managed to have some great side characters
- The bedroom scenes were more romantic than steamy but I didn’t mind it at all, it fit perfectly with the vibe of the book and I wouldn’t change it at all.
Cons:
- I loved Nash but found myself mentally shouting at Nora the whole book. She could have easily put a stop to the main issue early on, but I guess there would not have been a story if she handled it responsibly
- Then ending of the story felt a bit rushed to me, I really wanted to see more of a redemption story for both characters.
Overall I really enjoyed the story, I would 100% read more of this word and will definitely be reading more of Kat Singleton’s works in the future.

Get ready for an epic love, some heartbreak, painful betrayal and so much passion👏🏼

Nash Pierce is our troubled, broken popstar, with a jaded black heart who’s seen so much pain in his life he’s reluctant to trust or let anyone in, in fear of betrayal and heartbreak.
Enter Nora our beautiful dancer who changes Nash’s life while he’s on a world tour to promote his newest record.

It’s so beautiful to see what they go through and find their way back to each other time and time again. Their love conquers all.
But it’s so painful to read as well. I was already anticipating the hurt and pain the whole time yet when it actually happened I wasn’t prepared for it.
You’ll probably need a band-aid once you finish it😄

I’ve never read a music/popstar romance before and I’m glad Founded on Goodbye was my first one!! It didn’t disappoint and I really really enjoyed FOG because I fell in love with Nash and Nora from page 1. These two gave me all the feels!

What a journey this book was. If you are in search of a book that makes your inner fangirl swoon, I can't recommend this book enough! Kat Singleton has delivered on all levels. An emotional story is woven with steam, connection, and beauty. Nash and Nora's love is so magnetic that once you start, you physically can not put this book down until it's finished. It's polished, unique, a true gem in the realm of rockstar romances with its one-of-a-kind plot! Five million stars across the board!

Wow.

That’s my word for this book. I never normally preorder a book but this one. Wow I’m so glad I did!!

Nash is everything, his character development is just so cute and crushing, I cried with him.

Nora, is timid but relatable and I feel every emotion she does, dance is the best escape!

Just wow! I could not put this book down! Without saying to much the ending, was wow, I wish I had that❤️

Nora is a dancer with a large media following and Nash is the gorgeous sexy rockstar. His manager hired Nora to be a dancer on his tour, get him to fall in love with her and then dump him. The reason, well he wrote better songs when his girlfriend dumped him and broke his heart. Yes this is the coldest scenario I’ve ever heard but it sounds good. I love reading how Nash comes alive and falls in love with Nora and it was giving me anxiety chest pains to know she was going to break his heart, and her own. This story was fantastic, it had me ugly crying. I was an emotional wreck. Loved Loved Loved this book, I’m giving it five stars and I’m highly recommending it.

5 Stars for this heartbreaking rockstar romance!

"You are my Rain Show" ... I just love that line! This book just kept breaking my heart over and over. Nash and Nora are both so broken and I wanted them to heal each other so much. Even though Nash was mean to Nora, the electricity between them jumped off the pages from the first time they met. The only thing is I would have liked a little more on their backstories, but it didn't take away from the book at all. I love rockstar books and this is one of my favorites. This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last.

The last time Nash's heart was broken he wrote his most popular album and those closest to him want him to write another hit album. So, they offer Nora the chance of a lifetime ... to be a backup dancer on tour with popstar Nash Pierce. All she has to do is make him fall for her and then break his heart. Nora is hesitant, but then thinks "what are the chances of Nash falling for me?" and "how many other women have they made this same offer to?" ... and she takes the job. When Nora meets Nash, she feels this gravitational pull towards him but he is such a jerk to her that she knows he'll never fall for her. But when Nash's team ups the ante and has Nora and Nash dance a solo, the tides turn and Nash becomes infatuated with her. Will Nora get her happily-ever-after or will she break Nash all over again?

Was able to read this book early thanks to NetGalley!

Absolutely loved this book. And I’m obsessed with Nash and Nora. I think the ending went on a little too much, and Nora’s traumatic backstory was hyped and then never brought up after we found out about it. Didn’t seem super influential to the story. Besides that, I think this was a sweet romance with two characters who are flawed yet still find a way to love each other and themselves. I wish we could have seen more of Nash’s recovery story rather than just the flash forwards at the end of the book. Over all, was a quick and entertaining read!

Rockstar perfection! Kat Singleton is a new to me author, and this book spoke to my soul. The love story, heartbreak, and devastating past written by Kat are all the ingredients for this magical story.

Nora and Nash's story seems pretty straightforward from the very beginning, but there are so many layers peeled back as the pages turn that it becomes a masterpiece in storytelling.

I will be checking out more books by this.

Really really enjoyed this one!! I love rockstar romances and the blurb of this one was so good, I had been dying to read it for months.

It was super cute, fun and hella sexy and angsty. I love that! But I wasn’t too happy with the ending, it felt a bit rushed or something idk. I just wasn’t completely satisfied with it.

Still it was a great read!!

Nora is approached by Nash Pierce's manager to break his heart in hopes of inspiring his next album. She is hired a backup dancer on his new tour which is a huge step in her career and she doesn't really think she will ever catch his eye so it isn't any harm right.....? Will she actually be able to break his heart after she finds herself in love with him after getting to know him better?

Founded on Goodbye is definitely a slow burn Rockstar romance full of sexual tension and angst. The story was cute, but it was also very predictable. I expected more from FOG in terms of plot development, but it was still an enjoyable read. It was a quick read for me ( I read in in one sitting) and I recommend it to anyone looking for an angsty Rockstar romance. I will definitely be picking up whatever Kat Singleton decides to write next!

Thank you Netgalley and publisher for allowing me a chance to read the ARC of this book; This is my voluntary review. I'm rating this book 3.5/5 Stars due to the fact that is was enjoyable, but left me wanting more. I wasn't a fan of the time jumps... I wish instead more time was spent developing the plot.
