Why must it end? I wanted to keep going!
After staying up late—and being a zombie for the past two days—I have finished this series. Can I just say, wow? If you are contemplating reading, do yourself a favor and buy the first book. You’ll be hooked. The second book at first didn’t draw me in... but it ended up being my favorite. No spoilers here if you haven’t read book one or two, but if you’re like me and it takes a minute for you to warm up to the second, give it a minute. It starts a little slow, but totally worth it.
The characters within these books have all the feels. I was immersed, I felt what they felt, and I fell in love with each imperfect yet beautiful character time and time again. These characters are filled with regrets and past bad decisions, but they try. And their heart is in the right place. My goodness, I loved these characters. Just read it, then you’ll understand 😉
As far as content, it deals with tragedy, picking yourself up after being beat down time and again, it deals with hope, and not giving up. So it’s very mature minded without being inappropriate or raunchy. There are a few light curse words, but they mostly made me chuckle, fitting well with the dialog.
Would recommend a parent or elder picking up and reading before handing to a younger teen, but overall it’s clean with good life lessons.
If you’re like me and enjoy a book that deals with hard topics and swoon-worthy heroes and strong heroins while being a clean, wholesome read, pick these up. They’re worth the sleep I’ve been lost the past few days. 😁
