Witch Way to Salem

Rate this book
(Alternate cover edition of ASIN B093D5MSS8.)

Last Halloween she was as busy as a bat out of hell, but this year is about to drain the life out of her... literally. Rosemary Bell should be on top of the world. Her Mosswood family has expanded by one step-son, her new business venture is up and running, and she’s just received a proposal… until the Council of Witches has something to say about it. Rosie and Declan head to Salem, the witch capital of the world, to get the COW’s blessing for their engagement—but all is not as it seems. When an evil spell transports Rosie’s soul back in time, she’s confronted by a world that not only hunts witches, but hangs them too. In a time fraught with danger, Rosie must find a way back to the present—and her vulnerable family. She will need to escape from the dangers of history and make her way back before time runs out—or risk not having a future at all.

Rosie gets to unwittingly travel back in time.

Well, things were going too well and Rosie knew it couldn't last. Declan receives a summons from the COW (Council of Witches) because he and Rosie are planning to be married but, because she is a lost witch, he needs Cow's permission. Much to their dismay, the CoW refuses to grant permission unless Rosie finds a certain artifact they require. Then everything goes haywire and Rosie travels back in time to the Salem during the witch trials and she can't get back to present day. Oh and Morgana is there pulling all her normal troublesome moves.
This next in series was really exceptional. I was emotionally invested from page one. There were several new characters introduced and some old one brought back in this installment. I enjoy Rosie's ingenuity and tenacity, she never gives up and keeps working toward a workable solution even when it seems there are none. I also love the relationships between the characters in this book. I highly recommend it and can not wait for the next in series. Hopefully, Rosie and Declan's wedding goes more smoothly than Tammy and Myles; but, somehow I doubt it. Oh, and Myles is secretly a certified vampire hunter......this cracked me up....

Witch Way to Salem is book number 6 in the Midlife in Mosswood series. This one finds Rosie and Declan being summoned to Salem to see the Council of Witches about getting permission to get married. They say they’ll give their permission if she finds a way to retrieve an ancient lost necklace for them.

Once back at the hotel, Rosie steps out to grab ice and a lady ghost appears in front of her. Next thing she knows, she wakes up in 1600s Salem in someone else’s body, is accused of witchcraft and they try to hang her. She’s able to use her magic to free herself from the gallows and discovers that the entire Salem town council are evil warlocks with Morgana (yes that Morgana) at the helm. Morgana wants to steal Rosie and her daughters souls for more power. And she’s unfortunately got the necklace.

Rosie must work together with the real Salem witches and a surprise time traveling character (with fangs) to stop the council and get the necklace so that Rosie can get back home to her time.

I just adore this series and the love the characters have for their unconventional family. Rosie is brave and determined to overcome all of her hardships and protect her family at all costs. I give this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

🍂🎃Halloween tricks come in many forms in Mosswood 😉✨

Ya know its going to be a great read when a mere few chapters in and there's an obvious HOCUS POCUS reference 😉!!! Halloween is upon us, and true to form COW and a mysterious entity rear their ugly heads disrupting Rosie and Declan's lives. There is so much craziness within these pages, and I was cheering Rosie on every step of the way!!!! My goodness gracious does she go through some trippy stuff. Landing in Salem in the Witch Trials with no way home makes her fight more than ever for what's most important. This is the biggest fight yet and its so worth the read!!!! I also loved the introduction of a super special new (and relatively famous) character.... trust me you'll know who he is when he "poofs" in 😉. Here's hoping we see him again in future books??? Also get ready for a fun reveal about one of Mosswoods fave residents hehehe. All in all this was one of my faves within the series so far... perfect for anytime of the year, but especial late October! Bring on more tales of Mosswood 💖.

Rosie and Declan are getting married but for some reason CoW (Council of Witches) has summoned them to Salem. They are not happy about but they go before the council and it's for approval from CoW to get married because Rosie is a lost witch...meaning the council doesn't protect her..
The council won't approve the marriage until they find a certain item for them. Which means they are looking for a needle in a haystack...until Rosie gets pulled into the past literally. How far back well let's just say it's during a time of witch hunts...
The characters are wonderfully written and in my honest opinion this was the best book in the series so far! I absolutely loved it!
Will Rosie make it back from the past? Will they get married? Or will CoW get in the way of happiness?
Highly recommend this series

Thank you to Louisa West for allowing me to read an digital ARC of Witch Way to Salem for an honest review. This is my truly honest opinion of the book

Slow start but fun read

The beginning was a smidge slow but it got going good fairly quick. I'm a little perturbed that Rosie has such shit manners. All the help Dracula and the witches gave her and never once did she say thank you or appreciate the assistance. Nothing! Rude heifer. So honestly, the ending was to me, too abrupt and lacking. Otherwise it was a funny, cute, entertaining book. Hopefully Rosie's bratty attitude will retain the snark but learn to say simple words of appreciation to her saviors next book. It just seemed like she felt she expected everyone to help her regardless of death or whatever. Just didn't seem like the same Rosie from previous books. I do adore Maggie and Gabe more. They are becoming super funny. Ready for the next book!!

Great story 😄

I’ve very much enjoyed this series; getting to know Rosie and seeing how her journey, with the ups and downs along the way, has unfolded so far. But Louisa West has upped the anty with this book, imho. Loved that Rosie’s world expanded to encompass time travel, the authors representation and take on the Salem witch trials, plus the addition of another famous paranormal character! I have to say that in the last book I went off Declan a bit, but he redeemed himself in my eyes in this book. So, that’s a rather eventful Halloween over for Rosie and family, I wonder what shenanigans Christmas will bring to them all? Looking forward to finding out 😄

Louisa delves into the darker side of history with this book.
Rosie and Declan didn't ask the permission of the witches council to be wed.
The council has taken offence and ordered Rosie to locate a sacred necklace, but to do this her soul has been cast back hundreds of years in the past . These are dangerous times for witches and Rosie has a huge challenge ahead.
An unusual alliance is made with Count Dracula himself, an amusing character indeed.
While she uncovers a lot of truths in the past can this help her get back to the future to marry Declan?
You have to read to find out. Enjoy

If you haven't tried the Midlife in Mosswood books yet, you owe it to yourself to give them a read. It was a fun journey with Rosie and Declan once again. Louisa West is great at picking up where she left off. The characters were true to form while still showing some growth.
This book has laughs and a few tear jerking moments. While trying not to provide any spoilers some new characters are introduced and a classic character makes an appearance. You can't help but laugh at the interplay between the characters.
The family values Rose is known for shines throughout this book.

Although I’ve really enjoyed these books in the past this one was a little bit of a letdown. I like the concept of Rosie going back in time to Salem but adding Dracula to the storyline and then surprising us with Myles being a vampire slayer was just a little too much for me. Also, there were so many typographical errors that it started to become painful to read. Perhaps the proofreader needs to do a better job proof reading. Like I said I thoroughly enjoyed her previous books, all of which I’ve given five stars, but this one I just couldn’t-three is all I could muster.

Really Good

Lots of suspense and action. The heroine confronts the counsel of witches and is sent on a mission before they will approve her marriage to Declan. But she is somehow sent back in time to the Salem with trials, and she is about to be hanged as a witch. This was a great book. A lot happened. Once she gets to Salem, the pace of the story is fast and does not slow down to the end. I loved it.

Story was good as usual. The TYPOS and errors though. Omg. Please, some basic editing, even letting Word run a grammar check would’ve caught some of the double or missing words. And the sentences that were clearly edited but not fully rewritten. (I’m also pretty sure there was at least one case of referring to the wrong character’s name while meaning another.) I love this series but this one was sloppy in the editing department.

This one felt darker, I loved it!

With this book, it felt darker. Perhaps because it is centered around the Salem Witch Trials. However, I feel Louisa did a great job handling the reality of what happened then, and put her fantastic, magical spin on it. I love her gift of blending her magical Mosswood characters and the reality of the tragic past of Salem. I can't wait to see where this journey goes from here.

Witch Way to Salem

This book is magical, the tone of the series. In this one Rosie finds herself in a bind when the C.O.W. demands a request in order to approve her and Declan’s marriage, the request leads Rosie to Salem, where things get complicated by time travel, she ends up with the most unusual helper and that leads to some other discoveries. This story line is entertaining and full of clever plots, a great addition to the series.

I love the characters in this series and they just get better. The new characters add drama and I'm fascinated. Of course, Rosie, Maggie, and Declan are amazing and I love how their story keeps growing. This one though, Miles had me rolling laughing. So unexpected in so many ways! Tammy, Miles, a new guy, and the tattoo scene is probably my favorite!

Midlife in Mosswood book 6

Rosie's players adventure takes her to Salem, during the Witch Trials. While there she makes some new and interesting friends, battles new and old foes, and learns a few things too. I love me some Rosie, Declan and friends. Its always hard to finish and wait for the next book.

Warning!! ***Spoilers ahead***

I usually hate when a character gets thrown back to the past but the author makes it work. I had a lot of stops and starts with this one because of that but I really enjoyed it overall. The presence of Dracula was extremely helpful in this. Hope to see him again! On to book 7!!!

Blast from the past

Or should I say blasted to the past? This book really took me through the veil that connects it all, and I can't say that I wasn't surprised by all it had to show. I hope that it can continue to connect more witches from the past to the future witches in the story.

Love the stories...

But the books could do with some better editing. The book is filled with grammatical goofs that shouldn't have made it through. Fun storylines and great characters.
