This is a cute, fun read. The characters didn't grab my attention like I had hoped though.

This book grabbed my attention a bit more when I first heard of it years ago than it did now. There are better romance novels out there, but this one was pretty typical. Reading it today was interesting because I think our times have changed so much since when this book was published and when I first heard of it. The ideas of romance that it captures might not be considered "feminist" in nature. A lustful man and a lustful woman meet each other, each with their own agenda and not much else on their mind. But also, I think the standards for men have been raised lately to do more than the bare minimum of being respectful and abiding by consent.

I'm No Angel's nothing shocking for this genre, but I did appreciate the way things ended. The characters didn't have too much depth to them, but the way Berg was able to bring everything together at the end was surprising. I'd have liked to hear more about some of the other characters. In short, the ending was surprising.

I don't normally read romance, but I try to read diversely and this book ended up on my TBR pile. It's a light bit of romantic froth that checks all the major boxes one would expect of the genre. Alpha male hero with a mysterious past? Check. Sexy, flirty female lead? Check. There was plenty of jiggling, heaving, and throbbing, and probably a manhood or two. I skimmed the gratuitous bits. It was engaging enough to keep my interest, so long as I checked my feminism (and occasionally my brain) at the door.

This is trashy sexy romance and it was fun and silly as expected, but I found the 30 year old characters repeatedly reminiscing about the events of 26 years ago to be super annoying after a while. You don’t remember that much about being 4. You just don’t. The writing was a bit clunky and could use some editing, too (the first chapter, of she wrote “cool drink” one more time, I swore I was putting the book down. It was so repetitive). But generally it was okay and a nice break of a read.

Is it well written? Not particularly. Is it deep & meaningful? Not at all. Is it fun? Absolutely. I thoroughly enjoy how fun & silly this book is. Super light read

This story started out really good, the heroine seemed so sexy and confident and the hero seemed attractive- that's why I decided to purchase this book. big mistake.

It seemed like the book was so focused on angel's fear of sex and how tom desperately needed to have sex with her immediately. It was so annoying how Tom kept going on about how much he wanted her and needed her so desperately.
...shut up already, tom.
I don't care. get over it! go bang some hooker or something.

also, it annoyed me how angel was one of those girls who fantasized about their first time having sex and how lovey-dovey it was going to be. I thought she was supposed to be a confident sexy character- not some school girl.

and i thought Holt was really messed up about how he I give this story 1 star.

it was okay. i didn't like that fact Tom wanted to the use the girl and the girl had some major trust issue and that the old guy was a jerk who only care about his wife. and the guy's grandfather agreeing with the guy at the end, saying that the guy's wife was more important than his son, that he didn't trust his son to go good. just all around things that pissed me off, so that's why it's two stars.

After reading a particularly heavy book, I just wanted something light and fun. And I got it in "I'm No Angel." Not a masterpiece by any means, but it was a quick, flirty contemporary romance that I found myself getting sucked into. The characters are surprisingly well-developed, and while the plot was a bit cliche, it was still an enjoyable read. Great beach reading.

Private Investigator Angel Devlin always gets her man...and Tom Donovan is the man she wants. But is Tom using her to get information about her business partner, Holt Hudson, and the murder of Tom's father 26-years ago? Angel has no intention of betraying Holt's trust by allowing Tom to see him. Resisting Tom, though, is easier said than done.

Cute, light summer read. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
