This is Odele and Davey's story. Odele is hurt by the person she loved the most in the world and four years later she is still battling the emotional scars while Davey is experiencing writer's block that has made him a bit self-destructive and causes him to get dumped by his girlfriend. The two meet and what could go wrong there? You'll have read to find out, I loved it. It is gripping you feel sorry for Odele who goes through the worst experience a person can go through. Ms.Mala tells this story in her own way managing to inject humor in a story that could have otherwise been too dour. She grabs your attention from the very first page. I assure you, you will not be bored you'll fall in love with both the hero and heroine and with the way Ms. Mala tells their story. I highly highly recommend it

Spot On

I rated this book 5 stars because there were no biggest numbers. The characters were so well written . This story was very believable. I really loved the book. I couldn't put it down. The difference in the man and woman in their thoughts is spot on.

She writes characters with heart and a British accent, what's not to love?

Did you ever pick up a book that you weren't sure you liked the cover of, but you gave it a chance anyway … and then you were completely blown away by the content? That is exactly how I felt when I read this book. It is a lengthy read and I thought the story line was amazing! Suspense and romance boxed up with a very strong story of humanity and passion. It really is a great blend of things that I would not have anticipated on first glance of the cover itself. Not that the cover isn't relevant to the story, but something felt like it was missing there. But the story - incredible. Definitely this is an instance of 'don't judge a book by its cover'!! Great imagination and storytelling technique, supported by an in-depth and well thought out storyline. Fantastic.

The let-down for this book, however, was the intensely high level of misspelt and missing words. At times it felt like I was reading a 'guess the missing word' book. I don't often bring typos into reviews but in this book unfortunately there was no turning a blind eye to them as there were just so many. We all miss typos now and then but I had never read quite such a saturation. So for story line I would definitely give this a 5-star rating. If I reviewed solely on grammar, spelling and sentences, I would have given it a 2.5-3. So I'm evening it out and giving a 3.5 star rating, which I'm rounding up to 4 star. I hope the author reads comments and does at least one more once over of this book, because it really is a phenomenal story but I do think some readers just won't be able to look past the errors as it is. There are just far too many.

Good plot, poor grammar

This story has a promising plot. The sexual scenes are more graphic than I like, but that is just my personal preference and I won't complain about that. I simply prefer to leave the more explicit scenes to the imagination. I thought the characters also seemed to do an inordinate amount of "gulping" and "gasping", but the features that were most disconcerting to me were poor grammar and awkward, immature sentence structure. I believe that differences between British and American terminology may explain away some of these concerns, but not all. I feel that both could and should have been caught and hopefully corrected by diligent proofreading and editing. That said, for readers who are not as critical of grammar and sentence structure as I seem to be, this will likely be an enjoyable read.
