Before she met ranch manager Mike Flynn, Charity Wilde would have sworn that wild horses couldn't drag her to Wyoming -- that nothing could persuade her to abandon her dream of stardom in Vegas. But the devilishly handsome part-time preacher she meets when she's between shows is sexy enough to give anyone second thoughts. The wild wintry rides they share across the glorious Wyoming plains glitter as much as any stage lights, and the passion that rises between them is hotter than any torch song. But since the widowed rancher and the wildly gorgeous showgirl seem destined to disagree on practically everything else -- from city vs. country life to the best way to handle the wild horse that brought them together -- any future for them as man and wife seems a longshot at best, and the stakes are incredibly high. Patti Berg has created something truly wild and wonderful in this story of an unlikely innocent who heals a preacher's wounded soul.
Always a romantic, Patti Berg spent her childhood dreaming about being whisked away by a knight in shining armor, a devil-may-care swashbuckler, s sheik on a shiny black stallion, or a broad-shouldered cowboy with a Stetson tilted low on his brow. Now she spends her days making up stories where her heroes do whatever she wants them to. Patti lives in Northern California with her husband, Rob.
A romance between a ranching minister still grieving his deceased wife and a vegas showgirl still looking for the brass ring. With misery on her side and guilt on his side it seems they won't work it out. There is also a wild stallion in this story that comes between them. Loving this series by Patti Berg. #3 is next.
I normally speed through books but this one took forever because I just couldn’t stay focused on it. It was a very slow read and nothing too exciting happens. However, it’s a great book for anyone who wants to read something lighthearted and “romantic”.
So in the winter weekends are my smut reading. You know your typical chick lit with no content. Well I found this book and was all excited because I actually don't like the smut park, but boy meets girl etc... So the girl is a virgin, the man pretty much one- married once before and widowed. They get together in the book but without the hooking up. I am loving it. And then they get married and it was like two chapters and twelve pages of raunchiness. Good golly. Yeah for marital sex values. Not so good because details of others' sex life even in the written word is too much information.
I've been in the mood to read lately, but couldn't get into a single thing (hence the 8 books I'm currently 5-40 pages in to). But Patti Berg is always a cure. Light and fun, this book (which I've now read at least 4 times) is well written and full of flirting and sexual tension but surprisingly little sex. It is more about the fun of attraction than a bodice ripper read. The perfect book to get me reading again.
