Kyo and Anna's story.... (Release date will be moved up sooner once book is ready)
When I went into stasis sleep on my way to Mars, I never expected to wake up in a cage.
I have no idea what happened to my crew. Alone and afraid, I think all hope is lost until I'm rescued from slavery by a Kitsune fox-like alien, name Kyo.
Lost, and with no way to return to my home world, he says he'll take me to a planet that's safe.
We're very different, but I cannot deny that I'm drawn to him in ways I don't understand.
The more time we spend together, I begin to wonder: what would be like if I allowed myself to fall for him?

USA Today bestselling author, Jessica Grayson writes scifi and fantasy romance with strong heroines and the otherworldly heroes that cannot help but fall in love with them.
She lives with her husband, cat and dog in the San Antonio, TX area. In addition to reading and writing scifi romance, she loves swimming, chai and dark chocolate.
I liked this easy science fiction read. I has a great vibe to and is written well. this author is new to me but, i liked how she writes and her story line is is a good one.
Possibly as the after-effect of the trauma that Anna has suffered but most likely due to being incorrectly awoken, she lost most of her life memories from before that time. What she does remember is waking from stasis on what was a trip to Mars and being taken as a slave. Those who took her believed the females to be V'loryn rather than Terran and it has been safer to go along with that assumption so far. She is at another slave auction when she is purchased by a what looks to be a group of males with rather fox-like features, Kitsune in fact. It is not until she is aboard their vessel that they tell her that although they have bought her, she is no longer a slave and free. Anna cannot quite believe it but she goes with the group back to their home and it is not long before she realises how genuinely kind, caring and lovely this family group are. She has no credits but she hopes that she can help the family especially when she learns that they basically spent every credit that they had to buy her freedom. That and fact that she cannot stop thinking about being with Kyo. The longer that Anna is with them the more Kyo realises that she is his Kynari, something that he is floored by. She is his fated mate but what can he offer her, realistically? He is an honourable male but he is pretty much on the poverty line and looking after his three younger siblings. He cannot abandon them and what mate would want to have to hang around and bring up dependants when they are newly mated? He could not ask her to be his mate in such conditions especially considering what happened when he was younger! How could someone like Anna tie herself down to someone like him. What if she has a mate back home on Terra? Having said that, it might all just be hypothetical anyway since Anna is stolen by the very slavers that Kyo bought her from before. He is desperate to get her back but will it be enough? I just love these and cannot wait for more of them from this world.

Rescued de Jessica Grayson serie Settlers of the Outer Rim libro 1
Argumento:
So it was a ok read. Beginning was good. Middle was alright and then near the end I couldn’t get through it fast enough. I just wanted it over with. In fact I skipped to close to the end because it wasn’t great. A lot of it was predictable. I knew the slavers were going to come back for her but it didn’t make sense for them to. I mean the kiyo paid for her so why was the same slaver back to collect her and found out where she was. It didn’t make sense. The conversations between her and Kiyo also didn’t make sense a lot of the times suddenly they could read each others minds? Where was the actually start of the connection? The scenes with her on her period were just way awkward, I didn’t feel any chemistry starting between them. It’s just oh they suddenly love eachother because of the bond but there was nothing building up to it. The writing felt all over the place. Felt like unnecessary drama was added in because they needed something to spice the book up or something. Don’t get me wrong the plot line and the bases for this story was good, but just how it was executed was poor. Could have just made everything simple and I’m sure it would have been a great romance. I didn’t like that his race could shift into a giant fox, thought that was a little to much. I was just happy with him being a alien fox humanoid. Then going to the magistrate to see if she was approved for citizenship and then the warning of her being more easier to be kidnapped by slavers and a slaver coming for her a little bit later was just such a eyeroll. I gave it three stars because of all of that and it was still a alright read I just won’t be looking back at it fondly like “that was such a good read” it was mediocre at best.
This was such a sweet, emotionally satisfying read. I’ve never read about a hero who is a fox shifter before, so this was new. And it was also unusual in that he’s just a regular guy, taking care of his siblings and farming out in one of the Outer Rim planets. When he travels to a space station to buy supplies for his farm and to get thru the cold season, he sees the heroine being auctioned off as a slave. And he spends almost every cent of his money to buy her and rescue her and discovers that’s she’s his fated one. But he can tell she’s been traumatized so he takes his time md lets her heal before telling her his feelings. SWOON!!! It was just a heartwarming, endearing story.
I think the hero is a virgin. He had a gf before his parents died but they had only dated (or courted) for a very short time before the gf broke up with him, unable to help him carry the burden of 3 siblings, a farm and the grief over losing one’s parents. When the heroine kisses him, he’s never kissed and doesn’t know what it is and it’s so sweet to see him want more of it.
Safe. Hero is implied to be a virgin “we will learn together.” Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. Small OW drama when old GF tries to start trouble. Small OM drama from neighbor who is interested in courting heroine. No cheating. No abuse. Possible triggers: heroine has been trafficked as a slave. On page scenes of slavery. Capture by slavers. HEA with epilogue
Anna was supposed to be in stasis for transit from Earth to Mars. She woke on a slave ship with very few memories of her past life. She has survived many abusive masters and is on her way to a slave auction on the outer rim. Dreading another abusive master, she is happily surprised to be bought by a kind alien. Kyo and his brothers had come to the planet to sell their crops and buy supplies. They had planned to go to a livestock auction to buy more livestock for their farm but are horrified to see Anna being sold as a slave. They are determined to win her and free her even if it takes most of their money. When they win the auction and Kyo sees Anna's eyes for the first time, he knows she is his fated mate. Now he just has to convince her that she belongs with him.

This story focuses on Kyo (H), a Kitsune foxlike shifter and farmer, and Anna (h) a human, whom he purchases at a slave auction in order to free her. Kyo senses that Anna is his fated mate, though he lets her think of him only as a friend trying to help her escape slavery. He takes her back to his farm where he lives with his younger brothers and sister. The more that Anna is around Kyo and his family, the more she comes to care for them. They'll face threats and challenges to their safety before reaching their HEA. The sex is hot and intense between these two, with special eggplant. Enjoyed the storyline, as well as the characters and the family relationship with Kyo and his siblings. This is a great start to this new series - maybe Traxon deserves a mate?
This was a highly enjoyable alien romance story that I read. I liked both leading characters that were portrayed in this story along with Kyo's family and the drama and romance was entertaining as I flipped the pages while reading. This story is about Anna who woke up after being taken from stasis sleep and became a slave who was passed from master to master and Kyo a Kitsune who is at the station with his brothers to buy wares for his farm. They notice Anna on the auction stand and together decide to try to save her. Kayo bids and buys her with all their saving from their crops from her master. What occurs afterward was an engaging story that I received via Booksprout and that I volunteer to read and review.
I loved this book. It was captivating from the start. Great world building and wonderful characters. I fell in love with the Kitsune family so quickly and was very happy they were able to rescue Anna from slavery. I just found them so warm and sweet and endearing. Having spent nearly all their money purchasing Anna, Kyo and his family have only few options left to get through the cold season. And even then, the brothers do not regret their choice to have saved her over purchasing the things that they needed for their farm and family. The budding relationship between Anna and Kyo- who sensed she was his mate- was sweet. This story was a fun adventure- with danger, too, of course. A fantastic read! I cannot wait for the next book in this series! 5 stars.
“There has never been slavery on this station before, and I cannot hide my shock.”
Kyo is a good man, the kind d who puts his money where his mouth his, lives the example he wants his younger siblings to follow, and lets his compassionate heart wisely influence his choices and decisions.
Anna has seen the worst the galaxy has to offer since she was brought out of stasis into a life of slavery. Another turn on the auction block leads to the most unexpected twists and turns her life has taken yet.
This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read has a wonderful community, a small town with characters who have weathered hard times together, and been united by their struggles, their friendship, and their years together.
This starts smack in the middle from Anna's point of view, which I loved. This writer captures the details of loss, change, that captivates from the first page. I did wonder how Anna remembers only certain details. The idea of meeting one's fated mate at an auction is a good one.
The physical intimacy is great, but the connection on a personal level is deeper and worth so much more throughout this book. I was cheering for Kyo and Anna all the way!
I loved reading about Kyo, his siblings, and I can see far more books in this series coming. This is a magical start, and I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to curl up on a good adventure.

Anna was put into stasis for a journey to Mars but wakes up in a cage. Then she is purchased at an auction by Kyo, a Kitsune fox-like alien. She is treated well by his family who spent their own money to free her. Kyo knows she is his fated mate, but his family is poor and he takes care of his younger siblings. He cannot ask her to accept him under those conditions. And then she gets re-captured by the ones who had taken her before! Can Kyo rescue her again? If he is successful, can they accept that they were meant to be together? Or do they already love each other?
This is the first book of another series in the world with mythical “monsters” like vampires and dragons.
Kyo helped two other terrains in another series and now has his own story. He was a good guy then but, who spends almost all the families money just to save a stranger from slavery? A TRUE HERO! Anna and Kyo are sweet people and his family is the best.
I hope the next book gives us more insight into the Garkol and Lacerta that have been mentioned in passing in the other series.
I am so glad that you wrote this book. I really enjoyed the story and I'm thankful that I got to read about Kyle and Anna's story. It flowed well. The character development was great. I got to actually see the family come together. It didn't take too many turns sometimes in the stories there are many turns and you get lost in it, but it was a really great read. I can't wait for the next one in the series.
This was a quick and easy read. I LOVED Kyo's family.. they were SO generous and welcoming without though for themselves. I would have loved a further look at the different species, as well as an update on how Anna will be safe from future slavers. And what about the slaver that re-abducted her.. does he get charged with a crime, can he come back and take her again? I also would have enjoyed a look further in the future.
So much I gave it a 5 star rating. Their were a few misses (the missed opportunity on the ship when they were rescued. Should have recovered some funds or taken ship to sell) but overall very good story. Looking forward to reading a book about the neighbor meeting his mate.
A lot of cat and mouse. There was a lot going on and it felt rushed. There didn’t need to be so many problems and some weren’t addressed again (like Rina).
Possible Dual V (fmc is/mmc’s history is not given but he says “we’ll learn together”)
DNF 44%. Nothing was wrong with the book but I think I read this at the wrong time. It was too sweet and mundane for what I was in the mood for and I was too bored to keep reading.
