Rate this book
When Lydia coaxed her sister into racing their mares across the open plains of the fields that flanked her father’s estate, she only wanted to ease her own mind from the fact that her heart had been broken. But when they find a man along the main road, having washed ashore from the river that empties into the ocean, she is captivated by his beauty and the mystery that surrounds him. Brandon can’t remember anything about how he ended up in the river as he opens his eyes and sees the beautiful Lydia standing over him. When Lydia insists that Brandon be taken to her father’s estate, he can only listen wordlessly because even breathing is an effort with his extensive injuries. As Brandon slowly starts to regain his memory, he realizes the danger he is in and the awful endangerment he has brought upon Lydia and her family. He must act fast to save his own life while protecting that of the woman with whom he is falling in love. The more he remembers, the more trouble comes looking for him. Lydia and Brandon start to unravel a sinister mystery when they discover who wants to take Brandon’s life. As Lydia helps Brandon discover his past, she realizes how much she has come to care for him… Will Brandon be able to avoid the danger that is lurking around every corner? Will he find out the truth of the horrible crime he witnessed before it is too late? Can Lydia convince her parents that their long-time family friend is not as charming as he appears? The Earl Without a Name Hedley J. Huntt
I give this book 5 Stars
The story starts with a race between the two sisters across land adjacent to their father’s land not knowing what was waiting for them at the end. One of the main characters, Lydia was the instigator of the race and would figure prominently throughout the book. Despite being reminded frequently by the Ladies of the area, including her mother and the governesses, she was an untamed free spirit who was determined to ‘loosen’ up her sister thus the race across the land. They had brought a picnic lunch and were heading to the river hoping to reach it before it started raining. After basically losing her seat on the horse she landed near a body which when she examined it was able ascertain that he was alive but not conscious and was severely injured. This was the start of trying to find out who the gentleman was and why he had been beaten, thrown in the river and left to die.
As Lydia and Brandon attempt to figure out who wanted him dead there were other attempts on his life involving not only him but the family. Lydia was realizing how much she was becoming to care for him as they worked closely together. There was a possible deterrent to their HEA in the form of the son of close family friends who has made it known he has full intentions marrying Lydia much to her disgust.
Once Brandon fully recovered his memory, he worked closely with the law to bring the perpetrators the justice they deserved.
Their HEA was finally achieved with the wedding being held in town with Brandon now acknowledged as an Earl in good standing – besides he wanted to introduce Lydia to the Ton as they shall be involved some what with them.
The final piece of happiness was when Lydia delivered a son to carry on as his heir.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and strongly recommend it – there is just enough mystery in it that makes one want to finish it.

*** Lord Lost ***
A story of tragedy, murder, suspense and budding romance. There are twists and turns in the story that will keep you under the spell of the writer and glued to each page. When I started to read I could not put it down. I just had to know what happened next. Although the meeting of Brandon and Lydia were under tragic circumstances and the real threat of danger loomed around at all times, they began their way into each other's heart. The ending was fitting and justice was served. An excellent story that I highly recommend.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Action-packed
Inspirational
Page-turner
Romantic
Tragic
Twisted
Unpredictable
Wonderful characters

Lord Lost is found on the bank near Brighton. Not knowing who is where he is going or where he has been is quite frustrating. The more he finds out the more he knows he was done wrong but doesn't know who the guilty party was.
Lydia is looking for a love match but has been disappointed once. She finds Lord Lost intriguing and exciting but dangerous. So many attempts on his life are made. Can they base a relationship around these circumstances?
I found this book to be wonderfully intriguing. I could hardly put it down. well written and it grabs you from the start.

I received an ARC to review: an interesting twist where a main character doesn't know his identity and the readers discover it along with him as his memory returns. Some sweet, tender moments, lots of mystery, action and intrigue, this tale with regale regency fans who like a balance of romance and action!

A word to young or sensitive readers - the subject of rape is brought up in the story - nothing explicit, but it may be a trigger for some.

Really enjoyed the story of a loving family who's daughters find an injured man and take him home to heal. Upon awakening he has no memories not even his name. Kept under guard while he heals and gets his memory back he falls in love with the eldest. When part of his memory does return he is attacked again. Does he finally heal after both of his attacks and does he finally get all his memory back?

I do so love Huntt’s regency romantic suspenses. I’ve read an amnesia book before but not coupled with the suspense angle. I love it. I also like that it’s a female rescuer to begin with. A lovely tale that kept me flipping the pages furiously.

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

She discovers him on the edge of the lake — out cold. Brings him home and gets the doctor to look at him. He can’t remember ANYTHING . . . . but when danger starts to follow them, and it seems to include old friends . . . . something has to change!!! GREAT STORY!!!

With drama from the very first page, this story will keep you enthralled. It has strong characters, good guys and bad, with the odd mysterious character who doesn't quite fit into either category; at least until the tale unfolds. This was an ARC I reviewed voluntarily and I gave it 5 stars. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
