Elisabeth “Betsey” Atwater had plans as big as the Montana Sky. Marry the boy she’s loved since the day they met and become a famous singer. Getting Aaron Hilam to notice her took years of patience and when he did, life was so perfect she forgot all about singing. But dreams of spending her life with him were shattered when he left town and said he was never coming back. Her heart was broken beyond repair until she realized Aaron had left behind a piece of himself she could hold on to forever.Aaron Hilam’s growing feelings for his best friend’s little sister spooked him more than anything ever had. He’d spent the past twelve years trying to avoid her but now that she was full grown and the prettiest girl in all of Willow Creek, he had a hard time ignoring her, especially when those kisses she gave him led to things her brother would probably kill him for if he knew. When an argument at home has him mad at the world, he leaves town vowing to never come back but like most things in his life, trouble is never far behind him. When he returns home he has a lot of broken hearts to mend, one in particular. When Betsey spots Aaron riding into town, she’s heartsick when she sees he’s not alone. But her despair is short-lived when she meets a man who offers her a way past the heartache and a path straight to the other big dream she’s always yearned for. All she has to do is give up everything she’s ever held dear, and that includes Aaron Hilam.

Lily Graison is a USA TODAY bestselling author of historical western romances. She also writes a variety of genres under the name L. R. Grasion. Most all of her stories lean heavily to the spicy side with strong female leads and heroes who tend to always get what they want. On occasion, she can be found penning ‘sweet’ romances with chaste kisses and wholesome values. Ever a romantic, she believes in love at first sight and has a tendency to fall for bad-boy romance heroes.

Angsty but good

The Hero was a jerk when he left her but he always loved her. He was celibate while They were apart which surprised me! He broke her heart and left her pregnant and alone. It was heartbreaking. I really liked the people in the story and look forward to reading more by this author.

I'm not quite sure that this book deserves a 3 star rating. I suppose I am in a generous mood. The story seemed rather far-fetched at times. Not really all that believable.

Anyway, it looks like I have another eBook read ahead...

It almost pains me to say this, but Aaron may be my favorite in Willow Creek! I have been wanting a story like this and Lily delivered it. I couldn't put it down from page one with her brother doing what any brother would do. There is so much to their story that it pulls at your heart and waiting for something to keep them apart. I loved seeing their relationship build again and so many scenes were heart touching. I knew there was going to be trouble with the guy offering what she wanted but never saw that kind of trouble coming. I was holding my breath after that afraid that something else would happen. There is so much in the book that is amazing and I don't want to giveaway. I loved the hint for the next book and can't wait for it. This is one written so well that you can picture everything like a movie.

Betsey is a strong woman to do things on her own and work where she works. She wasn't so stubborn that she wouldn't listen even if it took a bit to get her to listen. I loved that she didn't hide from the town and felt for her with what she had to agree to when protecting those she loved.

Aaron knew he made mistakes and wanted to make things right, but didn't know everything. He had my heart from the start because he owned up to things and clearly loved her. I felt for him everytime something happened and he made my heart ache in many scenes.

This was a fantastic read! I truly believe that Lily Graison has a phenomenal western historical series!
Betsey has loved Aaron since she was a young girl, her brother’s best friend she was always following them around. He was everything she ever wanted in a man, she gave him everything she had... her body and heart, until he trampled all over her heart and left town without ever looking back. Running away from Betsey and the strong feelings he had for her seemed to make sense especially when things at home were tense. His time away from home has him realizing that he has hurt many people that love him, and he knows that a simple “I’m sorry” won’t be enough to rectify his actions. Especially with Betsey!

I loved Aaron he was a bit of a hot head and immature but he quickly stepped up his game and became the man that Betsey always saw in him. After a bit of groveling on his part, Betsey wasn’t going to give in to him easily this time around but finds that she made a rash decision that complicate her happiness. It’s not just her happiness that’s at stake now, but she believes Aaron when he promises her that he’ll make things right!
Plenty of twists really have the reader on edge, holding your breath while they navigate obstacles in the way of their happiness. A rollercoaster of heartfelt emotions keep you glued to the pages!
Lily Graison truly brings the West to life with plenty action to keep the reader entertained!

I recieved a complimentary copy, this is my honest unbiased opinion.

Nightingale Lily Graison

This latest addition to the Willow Creek series follows the fortunes of Aaron Hilam and Betsey Attwater who we met previously as children earlier in the series. As always, Graison hooks the reader from the start with both Aaron and Betsey in situations that they think can’t get any worse…but do. Again and again the fates work against them.

Betsey has always been in love with Aaron but he has hurt her deeply and she has vowed to have nothing more to do with him despite the secret she holds close from him; but when she sees him return to Willow Creek she realises that keeping to her vow will be more than difficult even after she realises he has another woman in tow.

To Aaron, Betsey was a thorn in his side as a child but when he realised he loved her it scared him witless and he did the thing he now deeply regrets - he ran - after first alienating his family. Now, after a shed load of trouble he knows he has to come home and make things right. How right he doesn’t know.

The twists and turns in this book will keep you on the edge of your seat as you follow the torturous dilemmas and obstacles they have to face. We revisit old friends from Willow Creek and see how the town has developed in this fascinating tapestry of life in the Old West.

What a wonderful story! Nightingale is one of those stories that have your emotions swhirl through you as you read this story about Aaron and Betsey. Betsey has loved Aaron since she was young but Aaron broke her heart when he rode away and left Betsey with a piece of himself with her. Signing a contract to fullfill a dream of becoming a big time singer turns out to be a nightmare. Now wanting a life with Aaron will and not singing brings a villain into their lives who will not stop at nothing to bring his dream a reality, even death. Lily Graison has outdone herself with this novel that is well-written, filled it with a magnificent cast of characters, a strong plot with great dialogue full of wit that brings this read together perfectly! They soon find admitting their love for one another is only the beginning of being together in this heart pounding story full of drama, heartbreak, intrigue, adventure, turmoil, trials and tribulations, excitement and while the suspense builds, tensions escalate and all twist and turns abound that makes for one outstanding story!

Aaron and Betsy

I really enjoyed this book. It was great to be back with Noah and Keri, Aaron and Sophie Ann and little Nate. Getting to spend time with Betsy and Ben was great as well. This book was definitely more of a second chance romance book and I have to say it was really done well.

Honestly I could have spent the entire time with Aaron reuniting with his family, making up for past mistakes with Betsy and getting to know the son he never knew about and would have been content. There was enough story there to make the book satisfactory. Simple is sometimes the best.

The side story/villain was alright, but I almost felt like took away from the second chance plot. I wasn’t disappointed or anything, just felt unneeded. I’m looking forward to reading Sophie Ann’s story as well as Ben’s

A wonderful addition to the Willow Creek series! Although I was frustrated at the main characters some times during this book, it was well worth the journey! Lily Graison does not disappoint and I love reading about characters that tie in to previous stories.

Sweet story

Loved finding out how Aaron's life turned out. He was such a sweet boy in his mother's story. Excited for his best friend's and sister's stories next.
