Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Plot/Storyline: 📖📖📖 Feels: 🦋🦋 Emotional Depth: 💔💔 Sexual Tension: ⚡⚡⚡ Romance: 💞💞 Sensuality: 💋💋💋 Sex Scene Length: 🍑🍑🍑 Steam Scale (Number of Sex Scenes): 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 (some are on the shorter side/close together, but with the small page count it feels high steam) Humor: A bit Perspective: Third person from both hero and heroine
(These are all personal preference on a scale of 1-5 (yours ratings may vary depending what gives you feels and how you prefer you sex scenes written, etc) except the Steam Scale which follows our chart from The Ton and Tartans Book Club )
Should I read in order? I did not and found it fine to pick up alone. There are other books in the series about family members/friends and their happiness in marriage is mentioned in passing but most of the book has a focus on the couple. I do wonder though if more of their animosity towards each other was established in prior books though. It does feel like it starts a bit abruptly.
Basic plot: At a house party, Millie walks into the wrong room. A room with nemesis. Her naked nemesis in the bath. And before she can escape, they are caught...
Give this a try if you want: - Georgian time period (1809) - London setting - Compromised (ruined) heroine – heroine walks in on the hero in the bath at a house party and is seen - You’re okay with some other man/other woman drama and feelings of jealousy - A shorter novel (amazon has page count at 184) - Higher steam – 5-6 scenes in a shorter page count - Enemies to lovers feel – these two have not gotten along during their time together
Ages: - Not mentioned
My thoughts: This is not the book’s fault, but this is like the 10th book in a row I’ve read that had other man/other woman drama. I am just so tired of it :( I do like possessiveness and jealousy in romance, but it just didn’t grab me in this one.
I also struggled with the writing here and the page/chapter breaks. They seemed to fall in the middle of scenes, especially steamy scenes and it was a bit jarring. I wanted to be in the characters heads a bit more and feel their emotions. I felt like I was told a lot of things instead of experiencing them through the characters. I know it’s hard with a shorter page count, but I wanted to know the characters more and be more attached to them. I never really came around to liking the heroine much at all. The heroine’s abrupt turn around between hate and wanting him to love her seemed to come out of nowhere. I wish the hero’s injury had been addressed more in the second half? It almost felt like it disappeared and he had been performing some crazy sexual positions for someone with a bad hip lol.
The steamy scenes were great – I loved those and it probably had the most emotional impact for me between the characters. Something I’m always sad about though is when the first kiss is combined with the first sex scene. I don’t know it’s just personal preference that a kiss can really get them centered on each other and ramp up the tension before going all out. Because the sex happened kind of soon it diminished the tension for me between them.
I did like the whole premise of the book though and would definitely try another by her! I liked that there was so much focus on the two of them together and their relationship. I thought their HEA was believable.
This isn’t a bad book, but it isn’t a great book either. I thought the book is too short; hence the characterization suffers. The heroine is too bratty for my taste, the hero obtuse. The author is a new-to-me author and I think my lack of enjoyment stems from me, myself and I. I noticed I have trouble with new modern authors. I feel that the writing style just doesn’t suit me and the story is far too shallow. One plus point is that the love scenes are piping hot. I’m not saying I won’t try this author again. However, I might do so only for the love scenes.
H and h caught in a compromising situation, forced marriage. Insta-lust. Love comes later. OW and OM drama, but not over the top and tolerable. Somewhat steamy. Hero and heroine work through their feelings and marriage to find their HEA. Quick read and fairly decent read.
Oh my, this was such a good story. Millie is at her sister's home for a week-long house party. She dislikes the Duke of Romney, who is also at the house party. It all kicks off when Millie enters what she thinks is her bedroom, but when she opens the door there is the Duke of Romney standing naked before her. Oh no, she realised she is in the wrong bedroom. Millie leaves but comes face-to-face with her mother and father outside. The couple have their share of troubles during their marriage, but they also have heaps of quite very graphic sex - and also a very happy ending, with boy and girl twins. I loved everything about this story. Can't wait to read #6. A heart-warming 5☆.
4.5 Stars Tatum Chance, Duke of Romney, wants nothing to do with love especially with his history, so getting married was the last thing he had planned. But when an innocent miss who can't count! is seen mistakenly stumbling into his room while he is ensconced in a bath, he’s left with little alternative. Millie Woodville wants nothing more than to find a love match exactly like her sisters & is looking forward to her season but whilst at her sisters house party she accidentally enters the wrong bedroom. Instead, she finds herself wed to a grumpy, quarrelsome, and unnervingly handsome man. Millie is the fifth Woodville sister to find love & what a delightful romp it was. Tatum & Millie lock horns at their every meeting, then they find themselves married - well it will be a marriage of convenience won’t it? I loved the grumpy Tatum & the determined Millie who were an absolute delight, they argued, they didn’t like each other but couldn't keep their hands off each other & soon became obsessed with each other. I loved how Tatum learned to trust & thoroughly enjoyed their journey to a HEA, which was rounded off by a lovely epilogue My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Since 2015, I have read hundreds and hundreds of different authors but I only have 31 authors that I consider my favorites and have read all their books (in my genre). Tamara Gill is one of these top favorites. As a matter of fact, of all these 31 favorite authors, their combined book total of books I’ve read is 1000 and my overall read total is just over 2500. So for them having that many books contributing to my overall total says a lot about their writing.
This is my 43rd book by Tamara Gill. I read one of her books back in 2014 but didn’t really start reading her until late 2018. Now she is a favorite and I’ve read everything and can only wait for new releases.
She is one of those authors that you forget how good she really is until you read the next book of hers. The last book in this series just came out a month ago and even though I've read 31 books since then, was still excited to read another Tamara Gill book. I wish her books were a bit longer in length because I read them so fast. Her stories are always great reads and she always writes such great sex scenes. They are so well written. Any new author or established authors that write or trying to write sex scenes, read Tamara Gill books. She writes damn good sex scenes.
I really loved Tatum and Millie. I hate that couples back then didn’t communicate very well about so many issues. Some of those ton marriages may have been a lot better had they just talked to one another. Anyway, I digress. It’s always a great read when they finally learn to communicate with each other and you get that great, “AWWWW aren’t they cute” moment. What a great couple to read. Great story!!!
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Plot/Storyline: 📖📖📖 Feels: 🦋🦋🦋 Emotional Depth: 💔💔 Sexual Tension: ⚡⚡⚡ Romance: 💞💞 Sensuality: 💋💋💋 Sex Scene Length: 🍑🍑 Steam Scale (Number of Sex Scenes): 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I haven’t finished a book in over a year, so I’m really pleased that this book engaged me enough to get through it. There was a lot of liked about it. I liked the pacing. I appreciated that the relationship started off early and you didn’t have to wait for it. I thought there was good tension early on and there was lots of sex, which is always enjoyable.
I do wish that the emotional aspects of their relationship had been developed more. I found the jealousy to be too much and it became tiresome. I also thought the jealousy wasn’t entirely believable or warranted. I am not sure I believed that either of them loved each other at the end and I thought the heroine was patiently unfair to the hero for a large portion of the book.
I was also a bit sad by the first kiss. Maybe I am weird but I live for that first kiss in a romance and I don’t feel we really even got a first kiss in this book. It was about two sentences long. Not descriptive. There was a lot of buildup before that so I wish it was more developed. This is really just a matter of personal preference though and not an indication that something is wrong with the book.
Overall I felt there was really good structure for a story here. It had the makings of things I love in a romance. Novellas sometimes leave me feeling like I was missing something because I just want more time to develop the relationship. I’m curious to read longer books by this author.
I did get some nice butterflies at certain parts and I basically live for that. So, ultimately, I am happy.
Millie Woodville miscounted the doors and ended up in the Duke of Romney's room. Startled, Tatum steps out of the tub, slips and falls naked on the floor. Unfortunately there are witnesses and Millie unhappily finds herself married to the Duke.Tatum isn't too happy about the marriage either. He has already been burned before on love. Platonic goes out the door when the clothes come off. Misunderstandings and declarations cause confusion and hurt. Only trusting each other can work it out. Bickering enemies to lovers. Another great read in the series. Heat level 4 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is Book 5 in The Wayward Woodvilles and I absolutely loved it and I have to start reading the entire series! Tatum Chance, Duke of Romney, I love his name, is not looking for love or marriage. Miss. Millie Woodville is looking forward to her first season, but finds herself getting married to the gorgeous Duke!
She may not have had her season but she attended them as a duchess. I loved the ballroom dancing and the attention to details. The well written steamy love scenes. Omgoodness the Epilogue! Is so very beautiful, I love the way Tamara Gill writes her books and the very special and beautiful endings 💕💕 I look forward to reading this entire series!
One Day My Duke Will Come, by Tamara Gill. I could not have been more excited to have read this latest romance book of “The Wayward Woodvilles”. I was overjoyed with the many disagreements and makeup sessions between Tatum and Millie. Let’s just say that those moments were definitely the highlights to the story. I absolutely loved how Tatum and Millie met each other. I thought that this scene was pretty comical. The mother fainting was was a added bonus to the scene. As always with this writer, Mrs. Gill gives her readers a heart touching story that teaches her characters the real true meaning of love and love lost. I found the characters a delight to read. The dialogue among the characters was intense, remorseful, honest and caring. These emotions made the story dialogue more convincing. Now I will talk about the fun naughty parts. Oh my gosh Tatum, if I had a husband like him, honey he could take and have me anywhere. Millie, hang on for all the many days and nights of living in ecstasy. I give this book two snaps in a, Lady Sinclair, get your own play toy. This one’s mine. Until next time my fellow readers… read on!
Tamara Gill does not disappoint in the 5th book in the Wayward Woodvilles series. These can be read in any order or as a stand-alone, they are equally enjoyable. And the way Tamara weaves her tale you are assured of a great read and you will want to read the rest later on anyway. You can thank me later.
Millie and Tatum, my goodness, their marriage was off to a rocky start to say the least. All brought about by her miss counting which was her room and her walking in on the duke having a bath. Her departure was unfortunately seen not only by her parents but by others at the house party and so their future was set.
But how do you go from a mutual dislike for each other and not wanting the marriage, to coming to decide to pull up your big girl panties and making the most of the situation? With a lot sparring and making up 🔥, some jealous moments and some heartbreaking moments.
Fantastic characters, main and secondary alike. You couldn’t help but want them to have their HEA even if you had no idea how that was going to happen. Well done Tamara Gill can’t wait for the next instalment.
I received a complimentary copy and I am giving my honest review voluntarily.
One Day My Duke Will Come is the fifth novel in the Wayward Woodvilles series by Tamara Gill and is another romantic and passionate regency tale.
Tatum Chance, Duke of Romney, wants nothing to do with love. Once burnt, he has no plans on getting married but when an infuriating young miss accidentally stumbles into his room whilst he is bathing, he has little alternative. He might’ve been forced into marriage, but no one will force him to surrender his heart—-especially not his new bride. Millie Woodville was looking forward to her Season in London in order to find a love match like her sisters. She wanted to be swept off her feet and courted. Instead she has found herself wed to the grumpy, quarrelsome Duke of Romney, a man who is as handsome as he is infuriating. Her new husband has made it very clear their marriage will be in name only, but Mille isn’t one to give up. She wants a chance at having what her sisters do and she’s willing to become the seductress if it’s the way to his heart. In the battle of wills—-and hearts—who will win will depend on who is willing to face the truth first. Both Tatum and Millie have falling in love with their spouse…..
Tamara Gill draws readers into a seductive marriage of convenience in One Day My Duke Will Come, featuring the youngest of the Woodville sisters Millie and the Duke of Romney, Tatum Chance, a couple whose distaste for one another is only eclipsed by their desire. Unlike the other instalments, One Day My Duke Will Come sees our two protagonists quickly married when a moment of error on Millie’s side sees them comprised and forced to enter into holy matrimony. What then ensures is a delightful game of cat and mouse as the newly married couple find themselves falling in love with the person they least expected—-each other.
I found that I actually enjoyed that Millie and Tatum were married when they began falling for one another. Unlike any of the other novels, One Day My Duke Will Come sees a wife set out to seduce her unsuspecting husband into loving her. I liked that Millie was so determined to make the best out of her situation and didn’t want to give up on a love match despite their marriage coming about due to being compromised. I enjoyed the sexual awakening Millie experienced in her husbands arms and seeing him fall for her despite his desire to keep her at arms length. They were a passionate couple and I thought their intimate moments very saucy.
A rich and passionate love affair, One Day My Duke Will Come was another deeply enjoyable novel in this series and I can’t wait to jump straight into the next one!
This is a poignant story. Millie and Tatum are meant to be together. Even though their story began with a misunderstanding. If their story began badly it morphed into something remarkable. Tamara Gill is a remarkable author. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Millie Woodville is a lovely young woman who doesn’t take kindly to an arrogant duke (Tatum Romney) who likes to argue with her. Her best friend could tell that Millie was attracted to him though. Things got messy from there at the house party when Millie walks in on the duke taking a bath.
I always love when a wife gets the better of a husband’s ex mistress at a ball when the ex is trying to humiliate the wife. Millie’s claws came out when seeing Lady Beaufort talk to Tatum (Duke Romney) and hang onto him like ivy. If Tatum really wanted to “diffuse the situation” he would’ve found a discreet way of making it clear to the dowager their affair had ended. He should’ve at least kept her at arms length.
Romney had trust issues stemming from his fiancée lying to him and leaving him at the altar as a young man. Since he vowed not to marry after that, his ex (Beaufort) was showing SHE was very much attached to HIM. I got mad and wanted to say “hey Romney, ever heard of sending her something like a congé” ?????
Millie thinks the way to gain Tatum’s love is by making him jealous. That doesn’t seem to work well. It does make him jealous, but doesn’t help his trust in her, or lack there of. At least Millie is hopeful. The love scenes between them are scorching! Beware.
This is Book 5 of The Wayward Woodvilles series. I’m looking forward to the next one coming out in August.
I received a copy of this book for my honest opinion.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Millie was a awful person. Spoiled, immature and had zero self awareness or control. She would constantly manipulate Tatum by making him jealous 😒
Tatum and Millie only connect emotionally through sex, I don't remember a time in the story where they actually get to know one another outside of the bedroom.
Millie confesses her "love" to Tatum, he tells her he doesn't think he can love anyone, because he has trust issues Her reaction, become passive aggressive make him jealous by encouraging another guys interest, which makes Tatums trust issues even worse. Then she gets made that he doesn't trust her? I felt like I was in the twilight zone.
Tatum, was just as bad. He had his heart broken once, and shut out love, because he didn't want to get hurt again. There are literal pages of him rehashing something that happened to him 8 years ago.
You would think he would have gained some perspective, he's an adult living in Regency England, no one goes through life without experiencing heartbreak, or shitty things in general, what makes him so GD special?
I wasn't convinced either one of them loved each other. They both only cared about sex.
Millie wasn't likeable, let alone loveable. Poor Tatum.
If he won’t give her his heart, she’ll just have to steal it… Tatum Chance, Duke of Romney, was hurt when he was a young man He was trapped in believing that he had gotten the woman he thought he loved with child. On the day of the wedding, was given a Dear John letter at the alter informing him that his bride-to-be was marrying the father of her child. The Duke decided to ride off to confirm the facts. He ended up in a riding accident, which left him with a permanent hip injury. He was humiliated in front of society elite, his peers, a laughing stock within the ton. The daily pain from his injury reminds him of that horrible day & how foolish to trust & believe he was in love. From that day forward he made a vow to never trust, love a woman let alone have a wife.
Millie Woodville was a naive young lady from a good family. All she wanted was a love match like her three sisters have. She was looking forward to the London Season along with her friend Paris Smith & meeting the queen. Unfortunately going to a weekend garden party to meet potential suitors took away her dream. Miss Woodville might be smart, engaging & out spoken & when she doesn't agree with what a man thinks. She will make judgement without knowing the cause. Which can land her in trouble. Which is what happened when she and the Duke of Romney butt heads. When Miss Woodville decided to go upstairs & think about her upcoming season. She didn't realize she was entering the wrong room. Instead she accidently entered the Duke of Grump's room. Not only did she enter his room, she caught him in the nude. Now they must marry. Millie begs her parents to not make her go thru this. They don't give her a choice. She is stuck to wed the grumpy, quarrelsome, and unnervingly handsome man. They have made some decision that they will lead separate lives. Where they will lead separate lives. But upon getting to know the man it seems that Miss Millie might be able to become friends. But she has made some ultimatums. If she was forced to marry due to propriety then the Duke must not make a fool of his Duchess by parading his mistress. Can Tatum be faithful. The duchess now must be the chaperone to her friend Paris London season. When the Duke thinks he is being discreate by ending his relationship with his mistress. His Duchess decides to make her point that she decides to make her claim of her Duke. However, Tatum agrees to not embarrass or insult his wife for the rest of the season. Unfortunately, to the insecure Duke, her popularity to the opposite sex at future soirees doesn't help their relationships. He constantly believes his wife is being unfaithful & out to humiliate him in society. Why would the Duke care what his Duchess does in her personal life? He doesn't love her, or want to be with her? Could it be he has feelings for his beautiful wife? .
Millie is playing her Duchess part in public perfectly. Not to mention if she is to live a parse in public she might as well enjoy the dancing, & dining that a Duchess is allowed. But in private, they lead separate lives, with brief moments of friendship, But they still don't trust each other. Tatum however, seem to be jealous of Millie's popularity with the males at the ton. Could Mille be having an affair with one of the gentleman known to cheat with married woman? Millie & Tatum has some intimate moments once they decide to open up after there many bickering moments. Once Millie knows what marriage could really be like. She is now determined to have a real husband. Millie is willing to be a temptress & state her claim to the man she married. Can she convince the Duke to open his heart & love his Duchess? Millie is determined to get her husband to let go of the past lovers & adore her.
Tatum Chance, Duke of Romney, wants nothing to do with love. So, getting married was the last thing he had planned. But when an innocent miss is seen mistakenly stumbling into his room while he is ensconced in a bath, he’s left with little alternative. Well, he might’ve been forced into marriage, but no one can make him surrender his heart—not even his new bride. No matter how utterly tempting she is…
When a duke and the youngest Woodville sister collide quite by accident, it becomes a match made in hell. Tatum Chance wants nothing to do with love or marriage and Millie Woodville wants anyone but him. But perhaps she can make the arrogant duke see what he is missing out on and secure herself a love match after all? But then again hell might freeze over first.
This was a very easy read, very entertaining with great characters and a good storyline, plus lots of steam! I liked the banter between Millie and Tatum at first but then it started to detract from the overall story. What sunk it for me was just how much of a b*tch Millie was to Tatum. I did not expect that aspect of her character, she went from being bold to just too much and she instantly made me not like her. She was very immature and jumped to stupid conclusions then held grudges. I am all for angst and drama in my romance novels but this seemed too over the top. I really didn't find any redeeming qualities in her sadly, even at the end. There was also a lot of repetition about Tatum's situation in here, it was just beat to death that he didn't want to put his heart out there to be broken. Yeah, we got it.
I think this novel would have played out better if it was perhaps a tad bit longer with more time for the characters to actually get to know one another and build their love, it would have been a 5 star rating for sure, even with Millie being the way she was. By the time the confessions and declarations were made in this, it was far too late. But if there was more time spent after that on the relationship and their story, it would have made for a better well rounded story I feel. As it is, we only get to see their lust, not development. I still do recommend this novel to keep up with the series which as a whole has been very entertaining. I received an advanced copy and am voluntarily reviewing this, all opinions are my own.
Unwelcome Wedding Spoils a Come Out Season - 4.5 Stars What a terrible set of circumstances! Our poor Woodville sister, Millie, has miscounted the doors in the corridor and ends up inside the room of Tatum Chance, Duke of Romney, and views him taking his bath, in all his glory, I might add. As she hastily departs, she is caught by her family and a friend. These two don’t even like each other, but as Regency times would have it, this gentleman and miss will play by the rules and marry, much to their consternation. At first, they agree to be civil to each other, but not intimate—more like married in name only. Then, well then, they are physically and romantically attracted to each other. This is where all the fun, and I’ll be blunt, sex — begins. Warning: if you don’t want to read about sex, skip this book! If you do like to read about it, be certain to read this one. The dilemma of this story now begins in earnest. Will poor Millie have her love-match in her marriage such as her many sisters, even though she has missed her London Season? Will Tatum ever realize that just because he was burned in romance long ago that he can honestly be loved? Or fall in love himself? You must read this book to get to that answer! This book is a stand alone in the Wayward Woodvilles series, which is a very fun series. I received an ARC copy of this book, but the review is entirely my own.
WONDERFUL!!! One Day my Duke Will Come by Tamara Gill is book 5 in The Wayward Woodvilles series and what a great series this is. though in a series this book can be read as a standalone. Tamara has such an original way of writing her books and she never disappoint. She is such a talented writer and I hold my breath for her next release and I always have to read them right away. What I really liked about this enemies to lovers story is that the arguments never lasted long and the sizzle between Tatum and Millie was terrific as well as the banter!! I found this book to be original, easy to read, wonderful characters, vivid descriptions and just a true delight to read. Tamara is defiantly one of the best writers of today. This story has a lady who can’t count, a duke never wanting to marry, being stood up at the alter, never getting over being stood up, totally disliking the other person, a forced marriage due to scandal, having hope and losing it, misunderstandings, having no trust, not wanting to be made of fool of again, jealousy, a good friend & companion, accusations and falling in love. I am highly recommending you read this book… as I said it was a true delight!!!
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
The versatile multi talented dynamic Tamara Gill has another superhit on her hands. "One Day My Duke Will Come" focuses on the fifth sister, Millie Woodville in the Wayward Woodvilles series. Tatum Chance, Duke of Romney, has no intention of ever marrying after having had a bad experience at love when younger. Millie is a strong-minded heroine with gumption. She knows what she wants and will do whatever it takes to achieve her goal. She wishes to marry for love like her sisters. Unfortunately, she accidentally stumbles into Tatum's room while he is bathing and then is caught escaping his room when she realizes her mistake. They are forced to marry and must come to terms with their forced marriage. This book is more than an enemies to lovers book, rather it is a lovers to friends story. They have great chemistry in bed, but Millie wants a true forever kind of love, which Tatum is unwilling to bend to. Their frank discussion about this brought tears to my eyes. I could feel Millie's angst and pain and Tamara Gill's beautifully written dialog between them is electrifying. A great read!
Tatum is a Duke and friend of Lord Howley it's the reason for his attendance at a house party which will change his life forever! Millie is the youngest Woodville daughter with her head in the clouds and a mouth on her that won't quit! Tatum has a hip injury and it really should be 4.5 stars still didn't figure out how it happened to him!?? Millie was not paying attention and was way too loud and mesmerized about seeing this fine man naked!! Hilarious scene when are they are by Millie parents well let’s just say Tatum for the win! Millie should have known then he was unusual! Tatum told her the ugly truth about his mistress and not changing his ways!! But then Millie gets one of her bright ideas! Millie devises her own plan that works so well it backfired!! Tatum then acts like a jealous ass which he should but the Ton is already rife with speculation now this!!? Just when hope has arrived Millie bares it all and Tatum fumbles again!!! This man and I groan thinking how do they come back from this!?? They do and just wow!! Do not expect the ending because Tatum saves the day spectacularly as he should! Bravo!! Well done!!
Millie..the youngest sister, seems spoiled, contributed to creating a marriage of convenience. Tatum…a duke, desired never to marry, honor led to save a friend’s sister-in-law from ruination. This is part of a series, I have read one of the preceding books, but it works as a stand alone. I didn’t have to know the background of characters mentioned in passing to follow the story, I liked that. I really did not like the h at the beginning of the story, in fact it wasn’t until well past half the book before I had any positive feelings toward her at all. I was okay with the H because he was up front and open about his views on their marriage, although he did have a semi secret of his own. There was of course a small villain or two but the main problems existed between the H and h. The love scenes were spicy but weren’t overly graphic in nature, at least not to me. There may also be language that could be construed as vulgar but it again not to me.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Millie and Tatum are two very strong willed people and butt heads right from the start. Queue counting incorrectly, realizing the error but not being able to correct it before being caught in a seemingly extremely compromising position, and being forced into a marriage of convenience.
Tamara Gill’s newest release, One Day My Duke Will Come!, was a page-turner for me. I couldn’t get enough of their squabbles in the beginning of their relationship, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it turn into something more for both of them! I could easily see myself acting as Millie did. She’s definitely a heroine who gave as good as she got. I sympathized with Tatum and his reasons for trying to protect himself. I do appreciate a flawed hero who comes around by the end of the book. Oh, and I loved the epilogue. It gave a minor cliffhanger that I hope is addressed in book 6 of The Wayward Woodvilles.
I received an ARC. The opinions expressed are my own.
What a delightful read this is, keeping me reading long into the night. Tatum Chance , the Duke of Romney, was tall, dark and handsome, arrogant and annoying , so much so that Millie Woodville could not stand him when they met at her sister’s house party. In spite of that, soon their lives were thrown together as they mistakenly were compromised and forced into a marriage of convenience. Jaded by a previous relationship, the Duke was guarded and had severe trust issues . Mille was a passionate little spitfire who gave as good as she got. There is a fine line between love and hate, as the passion between these two ignited and sparked right off the pages. I loved the clever banter and dialogue between these two. Their romance was delightful, but their lack of trust in each other nearly destroyed the great love of their lives!
I loved Tatum and Millie's story, this is another all engrossing read by Tamara Gill and I can not wait for the next story in the series.
Tatum and Millie dislike each other on sight each finding the other vexing and annoying. However when Millie mistakes Tatum's room for hers and interrupts him whilst he bathes everything changes especially when she is caught leaving his room by her parents and half the guests at her sister's house party. Soon Millie and Tatum find themselves immersed in scandal and marriage.
There marriage was to be in name only, but soon things change and an attraction builds to fever pitch between them. Can Millie help Tatum confront his demons, will her love be enough to save him or will his fears drive them apart forever.
