Foundation Maths

Rate this book
Foundation Maths has been written for students taking higher and further education courses who may not have specialised in mathematics on post-16 qualifications and need to use mathematical and statistical tools in their courses. It is ideally suited to those studying marketing, business studies, management, science, engineering, social science, geography, combined studies and design. It will be particularly useful for those who lack confidence and who need careful, steady guidance in mathematical methods. For those whose mathematical expertise is already established, the book will be a helpful revision and reference guide. The style of the book also makes it suitable for self-study and distance learning. What an incredible book, I am so thankful to the authors.

The amount of questions, the amount of answers. I will keep referring to this book for years to come and I am just so happy that I completed it.

I can recommend this book to people wanting a broad mathematics refresher, or for those starting out a maths journey again.

The book itself is very good for learning math concepts and has plenty of practice exercises, however the main issue is that the answers to the challenge exercises are on a website that does not exist anymore, and the answers to the test exercises are only available to college instructors; this essentially renders those questions pointless as you cannot check whether your answers are correct or incorrect.

This kind of gatekeeping by Pearson is completely unacceptable, given that this book costs 77 USD brand new on Amazon. I would highly suggest that you supplement this book with either Engineering Mathematics by Stroud, or Bird's Engineering Mathematics.
