"All sense of place—all thought other than pure anticipation and the sensation of skin against skin—left her at once, replaced with an overpowering desire for more touch... a desire for which Vera always happily provided."
Luna visits the night market in part to buy magic supplies and in part to visit Vera, the vampire who runs the potion ingredient shop. Their brief encounters are full of praise and punishment, and alternating pain and pleasure. Luna tells herself she likes the power she holds over Vera and the worshipful obsession the vampire has with her body—but will she discover that she, too, is hopelessly and desperately preoccupied with the way Vera makes her feel?
