With the diversity of Black Panther and the disturbing thrills of Pan's Labyrinth, Miscreated is For fans of Tim Burton and Black Mirror...
Jimi Elba, a popular senior in high school, has it all...until one day a pair of wings explode from his back. As Jimi's family and friends grow increasingly distant, he becomes more aware of the other nonhumans around town, especially a pretty girl in white who Jimi is convinced is the Angel of Death.
Jimi learns more about his otherworldly origins and decides that being a freak of nature isn't so bad. Now he just has to convince everyone else.
Author's note: This is a standalone book and doesn't need to be read in any particular order.
I didn't like the beginning, then I got used to it and enjoyed the middle, then got confused and tired of reading it at the end.
I wanted to read this book because I enjoyed Bleeding Violet so much and I figured Dia Reeves knew what she was doing. But I'm still not 100% sure what actually happened in this book.
I did laugh when Jimi "died" though - he got very dramatic.
All in all, I feel very let down.
