Transfusion Saga #7

Kingdoms Of Hell: Vampire Paranormal Romance

Rate this book
A ‘date’ he said.
Just one date with a Vampire King who had been hunting me down for months…what could go wrong, right?
One picnic, one witch, an ex-girlfriend out for my blood, and an army of zombie vampire rogues later, and what I had was an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ style cocktail for disaster!
Because this Alice was about to have the mind trip of her life when peeking through the keyhole of Lucius’ memories. All before falling down a rabbit hole to Hell, where the bunnies were more likely to stab you with a carrot before eating your soul!
But hey, it’s not like I had just been dumped in the middle of a Hellish battle with nothing but my wits to survive it,
Oh no, wait…
That had happened.
And one other thing that was sure to happen when Lucius finally found me in Hell…

He was going to kill me!

I do love these books, but again like the last it seemed to be dragged out and go nowhere over a long time and as it gets good it ends. Like the last book the middle didn’t need to exit. I’m hoping the next picks up and gets us somewhere, because I love Amelia and Lucius but this is stretching my patience

Could have been more

I love this story line but feel I wanted my money and time and as funny as the characters were it upset to see the twisted turn this story took. I feel like I wasted my time and money on a a filler and didn't even get to the main story. I don't like having to keep putting money into a storyline that never seems to end. I would rather spend more on a good story that I know has a ending and not a climatic ending that leaves you hanging until you get the next installment. A saga is one thing say 3 or 4 books it should end. But when they don't I loose interest and will stop wasting my money no matter how good the book maybe. But if you like drawn out stories and have the money to invest then I highly recommend this book for you. It's well written and entertaining.

Note: I'll be getting into several spoilers here so if you haven't finished it yet then go no further!

Okay so first off and for the 5th time now(I started reading these just after the second book came out)...WHY?!?! Seriously Stephanie are you trying to kill me with these cliffhanger cutoffs? I swear to you I will still read the next book even if there is no cliffhanger! I feel like I'm in an abusive relationship with these books lol.

Anyways It is now just after 4 am where I live and I am wide awake after having just finished tearing through this book. Unfortunately I am a binge reader, once I start I can't stop myself until I've reached the end. Which to be fair I probably should've ignored the little ding alerting me the book had been downloaded at midnight...oh well who needs sleep anyway?

***last chance before the spoilers***

So now getting back to the book...well I've got to say I was a teency bit disappointed this time around. Mostly because there was a ton of indecision in this book. Okay maybe indecision is a bad word more like hesitation before making a decision. Such as in the beginning when Amelia took like forever to decide whether or not she was going to step into the tree, then later when the warriors three(yes that is what i am calling the shapeshifters) were trying to decide what to do about Amelia. Also, and of course this could obviously change in the next book, but how exactly is her jumping into a portal to hell going to save the vampire race? I mean why didn't she ask the tree guardian what she had to do to fix it first? Seemed like a big point.

Another problem for me is that she didn't really try to stave off Trice's advances...I mean come on after the first time he kissed you, you think you'd know better than to trust him! Bite his lip, kick him in the crotch! She said she felt guilty about cheating on him, but then she just let it happen again and again!

But I am getting too negative here, time to focus on some positives:

As usual Stephanie paints an excellent picture with her storytelling, the battles were explosive and the characters shine just as always. Though to be honest I found the warriors three to be slightly annoying with their accents. That was the point though, for them to sound authentic, I get that. They did grow on me more, towards the end. Also it was never explained how Trice knew Amelia...I am really hoping that's touched upon in the next one because I'm highly curious.

I did like though getting to see Lucius' history in more detail. Though I'm still very confused about his gloved hand...because if it was completely cut off how is he wearing a glove? I know he said in the third afterlife book that I would grow back eventually but then if that's the case why does he still have to wear a glove? Did it grow back grotesquely like freddy Krieger or something?

Also the relationship between him and Lucifer was rather interesting. The comment he makes at the end of chapter three, when he says "you will bring me my queen"...it makes me wonder if her other novel 'devil in me' is set in the same universe as this, if that's so then is he referring to lily? Because lucius was never in that book...eh maybe I'm just reading too much into it. Another thing I'm curious about is whether or not lucius is actually the king of death, because I feel like in one of either the later afterlife books, which of course would've taken place way earlier than this series, they mentioned the king of death and how he'd already found his electus(I could be wrong though, of course).

I am really happy she stuck with her canon in regards to amelia as a baby by explaining it the way she did. A lot of authors break established canon, by changing things later, which bugs the crap out of me when it happens. And after having read through the afterlife saga finally(took me awhile because I didn't enjoy it as much as this series), I was like "wtf, she was born a human at the end of blood of the infinity war?"

Seriously someone needs to start up a fan site or something, I need some peeps to share my thoughts with, I apologize for this review being so long but honestly this has been very therapeutic for me lol. In spite of my problems with it, I still very much enjoyed the book, and I can't wait to read the next one. Here's to two more months of longing!

I had a harder time getting into this book than the others, but once I did it was so worth it. I liked that Amelia got to experience Lucius's secrets, rather than him telling her. I think he should have told her and trusted her, but I don't necessarily think the retelling could have done them justice. I like that Amelia really did try to learn from some of her past mistakes in this book. I, also, was so ridiculously proud of her when she got pissed that Trice said her name. (When only Lucius should say it that way) I feel for Trice and I think he's an interesting character, but I can't really bring myself to care that he's gonna get his heart broken.🤷 I wish she could have dropped Lucius's name just to see him have an 'oh shit' moment, but I feel like that's gonna be coming. Lol I really liked the bit with the Kraken/witch/ umbrella. Almost cried at the ballroom snow globe part. I do think this is the worst cliffhanger yet, but I feel like I will eat those words after the next book.

There is so much in this that you can't stop reading
This book had me hooked from page 1 to the end.
Wow what an epic cliff hanger I’d say I hate it but let’s be honest it is worth the wait to find out what happens all those other books leading up to this part and what an amazing ride and series this has been. Can not wait till the next instalment.

**** Kingdoms of Hell
For those who are Afterlife fans you might understand my review a bit more.
Ever since the start of Afterlife Dom wasn’t calling to my soul. No one can deny he’s a sexy alpha character but I was hmmm, let’s see who this big bad Vampire is were my thoughts...
Book 3 was IT for me. Lucius ❤️❤️ ^sigh^

I will Always be a hard core Lucius fan and I couldn’t wait for him to get his own saga as Stephanie had promised. When I found out that Amelia was his chosen one I didn’t know how to feel but damn it, if I wasn’t intrigued. And again our author goddess did not disappoint. I absolutely love the transfusion series.
Now as far as the Kingdoms of Hell is concerned I certainly did not expect it this way. Yes, I knew Amelia was due for her own little adventure. However, I waited the whole book for my vampire king. I’m surprised with the fact that I enjoyed this book so much even tho my king wasn’t in it!
Stephanie Hudson thank you. Thank you for making me understand the meaning of a book slump cause after this book there is NOTHING that compares..
Yes, I missed lucius, I won’t lie and did the Mcbain bro’s make up for it? Nope. Not for me. Yeah sure Trice is hot but for a die hard lucius fan that’s not a factor.
I loved this book because I loved seeing Amelia growing, becoming independent and doing things without Luc, but I won’t say it’s my favorite even tho I feel it because there are more books coming so I don’t know if the next one will be my ultimate favorite.
I’m soooo perplexed but I’m used to Stephanie making me feel this way..
F.y.i.
There was so much ranting about what a hussy Amelia is, how she could salivate over hot Scottish men that I would too...obviously... buttttttt my poor, poor Luc who might have his heart broken cause of that “hussy” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

If you haven’t read the Afterlife Saga you totally should before ready the Transfusion Saga...now with that being said, just wow!!! Stephanie keeps me guessing every damn time! I am obsessed with this series. I love Luc but man Trice was introduced to us in this book and he gives Luc a run for the money! I can’t wait to see the fall out between these two!

Just found again and Amelia and Lucius are parting ways again.
Amelia's impulsiveness and distrust leads her straight to hell. A place full of dangers and ... seductions for a young human woman (- LOL. Can´t wait to read the next book. I'm excited to see how Lucius will take matters into his own hands).

Amazing!

Another great book in this series! You’ll want to make sure to read the first part of the series (before jumping in partway through), but you won’t be disappointed! This is one of my favorite authors , and her writing really just sucks you in.

Awesome

Well it was a bit hard to read at times with the Scottish vocabulary but as far as storyline goes another masterpiece in the ongoing saga that is Lucius and Amelia. Damn having to wait another month now for the next instalment.

Hell! WOW

Stephanie your imagination is astounding. Loved it! Amelia is of course her do before thinking self and Lucius is in the background. Enjoyed the NEW characters. Nothing gets me more than a Scottish accent. As always can't wait for the next book to come out.

What a disappointment after the last book I was really starting to get into this series and look forward to what comes next but.... what was that? I imagine nothing important!
I didn't enjoy this at all and as for the actual story I'm not sure I can face another poor decision Amelia makes. It appears to be the same thing now. She hears something she doesn't like and runs at something head on without any skill or understanding of what is actually happening or understanding the consequences of it. I didn't want to say that I'm ready for it to end but I think I am. Or we just need a different turn of events because it's the same event in different places and I'm not sure it is entertaining me anymore.
As for the side characters I didn't mind the three brothers! But it was hard to constantly stay in this world deciphering their speech. I miss our old side characters that we never learnt about. Now I know being over half way I should have an incline of the plot but I'm not sure that's hit us probably yet either.
I'm nothing if not a quitter so let's find out what this hex means, if her breed has a name or we even find out about it and how to stop the tree of souls from dying! And can we please do it without her running away or being kidnapped leaving a lost Amelia and grueling Lucius?

I knew it!!! Spoilers

Soo firstly I really appreciate learning Lucius’ past finally. It only took 6 books to get that. And I must say Lucius is as sweet as I thought. Still super dangerous obviously but super sweet to Amelia. Even as a baby. And he is a irrational as her too. Fitting considering. Like to feel such guilt for something he didn’t do on purpose was ridiculous. And he felt and still feels the guilt. It’s craziness for sure.

Now, for this juicy goodness. So I knew Trice would fall for her. And I knew despite Amelia’s feeling and devoted love for Lucius that she would reciprocate to some extent. What I guessed at was that the kingdom in hell she ended up in was Lucius’ and when she came to the castle first and it wasn’t Lucius I thought okay maybe not. But then the dude sitting on the throne said something to tune of the king making a decision about what would happen to her. So my hope went back up. And it was confirmed in the end.

Now I’m curious because I know Lucius will be pissed that Trice has kissed her not once, not twice bit a few times. And as possessive as he is over Amelia I don’t imagine this ending well for Trice. Or you know Amelia. Can’t wait to find out how much trouble she is in.

Disappointing

I loved the fast pace and story of the previous books even though the emphasis on brands is really tedious . This book is based around description of surroundings and how much she really likes Trice even though she is supposed to be madly in love with Lucius! This episode comes across as the author trying to make this something it isn't and the attempt to write Scots speech was excruciatingly inconsistent. I don't think that you can remove one of the two main characters and expect the episode to be I the same vein as the others, especially when attempting to introduce another love interest which is completely unbelievable. I am obviously willing to suspend belief to ascertain extent - this is fantasy after all - but the story needs to be consistent to work and this one doesn't

The twists are many for Amelia and Lucius

I am reading this series and enjoying the characters, new families, and new players. I do enjoy the humor and banter between the characters. I had hoped for more secrets to be revealed but the twists keep coming and not much is revealed as to the power of the villains especially the powerful witch who keep luring Amelia away from safety. Why the Tree? Why the Three? What does Amelia need to do? How did she survive coming to hell without her powers? We end the book with more questions than answers. Disappointed about that and the ending was nonsense because of course Lucius was going to find Amelia in hell, he is a King there. This was not surprising at all. Amelia was counting on this in her plan when she walked through the portal.

There's a small chance I over rated the book because not much was actually discovered. Amelia's walk through Hell didn't help her to find out what she must do to save the entire vampire race. It was a little disturbing for me that she wasn't forthright on who her boyfriend actually was as all I could feel was that she was putting her admirer's life in danger because Lucius wouldn't let that slide. We are not much further than we were at the end of the last book quite frankly and I am a little disappointed about that but I gave it 5 ☆'s because I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting despite the complaints of my empty stomach and my numb ass.
Looking forward to the next instalment and hoping the story has a more forward content to it, especially as it's the penultimate book.

An apt title for Amelia’s next adventure much to Lucius’s dismay. We start this journey with Amelia being shown Lucius‘s past from the Keepers of Three. We finally get to see and understand how Lucius was created, as the saying goes “the devil is in the details”. I like that Stephanie finally put to bed some of Amelia’s childish insecurities surrounding her mother, this is one thing that has bugged me to no end in previous books. Whilst Amelia gets her first taste of Hell, we also get introduced to Hells best bounty hunters the McBain Brothers, which I can already tell are going to be a firm favourite for me, especially with those Scottish accents and witty banter. An overall great addition to the series that I would recommend reading.

{39} Kingdoms of Hell (Transfusion book 7) by Stephanie Hudson is a 4 ⭐️ read.
I started this book in February and have only just managed to finish it today (May 15th) I don’t know why I’ve struggled with the Transfusion series as I loved Afterlife and have read it twice and the Hellbeast series so far.
I know many people love this series and I really really want to that’s why I keep coming back to it as I am determined to finish it, but I just can’t like Amelia’s character, she actually annoys me and so does her Lucius. I do recommend that people try this for themselves but maybe start with Afterlife first.

Omg nail biting and thrilling but also irritating. I just wanted to see what happens to Amelia, and how Lucius would save her. The way to hell is not what I expected but the ending was a serious trip. I can’t believe I have to wait for the next book.
Great plot and story, hilarious characters, a dark look into hell. Lots of angst, and terrifying moments, but some fun banter, and cute flirtation, although I didn’t expect some of the feelings Amelia portrayed, however surroundings will do that. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Amelia is in Hell

Amelia listened to the three and went thru the door into Hell. What the heck did she expect but monsters and demons. Thanks to put a plan she dreamed up to save the vampires, she will run Into demons that scare the bejeezus out of her and still have to avoid the witch and anyone who might help her cause except for Lucius who she regrets not listening to in regards to her current situation. Amelia also wondered about the beautiful demons who wear the bodies of the best looking humans

Cliff hanger Queen!

I absolutely loved it but I never expect anything less from her stories. She takes you on so manybadventures that keeps you on your toes and the details stay with you as if you were watching a movie. She takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions and oh my God do I love it! The cliff hanger in this book just like all of her other books leaves salivating for your next fix! Can't wait for next month.

Amazing series! A must read

Okay so I just finished this book about 2 days after buying it and if I had it my way I would have read it none stop, who needs food and water? I’ve read all the books back to back and seriously feel addicted, the characters, the plot, the places we go. This author is so talented I can’t wait for more. Next book release date is in my calendar and it can’t come soon enough.

I NEED MORE

Every single book Stephanie has published has left me needing more. This is no exception. I can’t wait for the next instalment.
Amelia has to make a decision. Does she save the Vampire race or does she listen to Lucias? Well of course this is Amelia we’re talking about so hey a trip to Hell pfft she can do this right?
Oh the demons you find in hell are a lot more than she bargained for.
Sensational addition to the series

Ok, this was my favorite so far in the series. It is actually the only one I have felt deserved writing a review for. The other books dragged on and I hate to say I skimmed over some portions but this one blew the others out of the waters. The Mcbain brothers were amazing. I loved their characters and I loved trice. As much as I love Lucious I loved Amelia and Trice together and I hope he finds someone. We need a book series on these brothers for sure.

I read the beginning half and then skipped the second half of the book because I got so fed up that Amelia is separated from Lucius....yet....again!

And the other reason is because of reviews and spoilers I did NOT want to get into an LT since I hated the fact that Trice kissed Amelia not once but several times....and honest to God, I sure hope Amelia will not turn out to be the type of female character that I hate I.e. unfaithful.... :(

Well written but entirely unnecessary book to the story. I kept reading thinking it'd get better. It did not. I've never been upset after reading anything of Stephanie's, but this was too much filler, no story and a nonexistent main character. I hope the next book wraps this up rather ruin what started as amazing saga.

Boring and not liking Amalia anymore

So this book was boring and Amalia really seams like this drama queen who needs attention, supposedly smart but really stupid and the descriptive endless monologues are tiresome.... I’m giving the series one last try as books 3-4-5 were good and I like Lucius but if it doesn’t pick up it will be my last book

Too much of a good thing has step into boredom

I read the first six books and did enjoy them. Along comes #7 book and I was bored out of my mind, mindlessly turning pages while barely reading them. It's time to shut down the story because I am advising everyone to skip this book and go straight to book #8. You won't miss a thing. Hope fully #8 will be better if the entire series will be ruined.
