Amelia knows that foresight is a great thing.
It would have come in handy.
Like when she decided to try and steal from an angry Vampire King. Nope, probably wasn't one of her better ideas. And now he's decided he's done waiting, whatever that means.
He tells her she has pushed the limits of his patience for the last seven years and now it is time to claim what is rightfully his.
Because now it turns out that she is not the only one with an unhealthy obsession. He just hides his better.
Well, he isn't hiding anymore.
And as for Amelia. She is now his prisoner who, unknowingly, just slammed the door to her own cell. And all because she stole from him.
Stole the heart of the notorious,
Vampire King.

Venom of God is the 2nd book in the Transfusion Saga by Stephanie Hudson.
Amelia Draven - daughter of Dominic and Keira Draven - decided that stealing from Lucius - King of the Vampires – was a good idea after all, all she wanted was that cursed box her father had given her back, it was hers after all. She was only doing it for the right reasons, at least that's what she was telling herself in her mind.
It's only when Amelia is caught that she comes to terms with just how massive the mistake she has made in thinking that she could not only get away with entering Luciu's domain undetected but also get away with stealing from him. In that one single moment she realizes the her entire plan was stupid and only a fool would think that they could have gotten away with it.
Lucius had decided that he's done waiting to claim his chosen one. The time has come now that Amelia has once again willingly entered his lair to claim her as his, just as she has always been his, she just didn't know it. She will know it now though.

I love that there are some scenes in this book that have some darker themes to them that got my heart racing, but there were others that had me laughing, and others yet that I was squirming and trying to cool down (thank you spicy scenes.) I just love Stephanie Hudson's writing and Marya Freeman narration just brought the story in this part of the saga to life.
I wish that I could be friends with Lissa in real life, she is just such an interesting character. Then you have Percy, Ruto, Clay, & Caspian, they are just perfect, interesting and intriguing secondary characters. I can't tell you if that's a good thing or not, you just need to read this saga and decide for yourself.
I just love that this is a more contemporary paranormal vampire romance. This is just everything that you could want for a 2nd part in a long saga, I believe that there are 14 books in this saga, they are all out now, this story though is just awesome incarnate and I can't wait to dive in to the rest of the audio books for this saga. (I love the audio books for this saga just like I did for the Afterlife Saga).
Beware though, this instalment ends on one torturous Cliffhanger that feels like you are left hanging on a cliff by the tips of your fingernails just waiting to be able to get into the next book and find out what happens next.
