For some strange reason the author decided to re-write large parts from book 1, only written from Lucius' point of view, and then shoehorned that into this book. I was pretty annoyed by this, because it provided no new information and felt like I was reading fanfic. I'm still going to read the next book because I'm a sucker LOL

While the writer has talent, this was a DNF for me. The first book ended on a cliffhanger. It started out as a very promising series. I sailed through the first book and had to dive into the second one.
It’s told in multiple POV’s. I had a problem with how often the different POV’s narrate the same dang thing. The H is keeping a big secret from the h—something to do with her mother. He keeps doing shitty things to the h, which are supposedly justified, but it results in alienating the h more. I couldn’t even hold on to find out what the big secret is, or for them to finally do the deed. They kept teasing about it but I finally completely lost interest. I skimmed and just couldn’t care anymore.
A pet peeve of mine is reading the same thing repeated by multiple POV’s and the characters not being steadfast. A 2,000 year-old vampire king should have more emotional maturity than to negligently strong along his 27 year-old Chosen One and do irreparable damage to the relationship.

Amelia Draven thought stealing from Lucius was a good idea, done for the right reason. It's only when she's caught that she realizes how massive a mistake she's just made and how entering into Lucius's lair was a really really stupid idea in the first place.
Lucius, the original Vampire King given life from the Devil himself, is done waiting. Time is up now that Amelia has entered his lair. It's time to claim what has been and always will be his. Amelia.

This is second installment in the "Transfusion Saga" series. A spin-off from the "Afterlife Saga" series that features Dominic & Keira Draven's daughter all grown up and ready to become a Chosen herself.
Gotta love a club that has the name 'Transfusion' if for no other reason that it would automatically scream VAMPIRE to me and thus I'd be there PDQ. Research purposes of course. 😉
Lucius & Amelia. It's been a while since I've been able to feel that Raphael & Cyn ( Vampires In America series) had competition. While Raphael will always be my first and best love, Lucius comes close. Amelia has nothing on Cyn but again, competition. The quirky thing is Amelia has scenes with a FLAVOR of Gail Koger's Coletti Warlords female leads. Not a bad thing and different in a good way.
While there are scenes that have dark themes (think vampires and violence) there was enough heart racing action, laugher, squirming in my seat, and grabbing an ice cold beverage through the intimacy scenes to keep me happy. Can't believe i haven't read anything by this author as I really like her writing style. I will be sure to remedy that in the near future.
Secondary characters. Leissa. Oh girl you and me could be besties if only fictional characters were real. Percy, Ruto, Clay, & Caspian are just perfect. Now, whether that's in a good way or evil way is the question. Guess this is when I cite the "you need to read the book to find out" waiver. lol
Two regrets I have over reading this book, and yes they are regrets. #1 is that I read this without having ready any other book by this author. I just read the book blurb and found it interesting. 326 pages later ..... yup, I should have read Transfusion first. Don't repeat my mistake - this is not a standalone. #2. I read this book prior to the unnamed third installment that is SUPPOSE to be released sometime January/2020 (date info included at end of story). Why? Because this one ends in one MAJOR MAJOR cliffhanger. The kind that I really should have backup kindles as I tend to throw my kindle across the room when shit like this happens. Luckily - no breakage yet but one day it's gonna. Sorry if this is upsetting to author but I HIGHLY recommend not reading this series until next book is released as it will frustrate the heck out of you otherwise. Believe me.

the book was saved from a 1 star rating just because some things finally started to happen at 70% of the book but before that i have to say to much unnecessary details i was afraid every time the FL started to think about something cause it means 2 or 3 pages of her rememberingthe past or speaking to herself

This was really slow until I was 85% in of this book.. I'm kinda disappointed actually because this is not the norm for Stephanie's work.. I have hope that as I continue to read this series it will pick up and get better... Gosh it had better!🤨

I want to score this book higher, I really do; but I have too many issues with it to give more than 3 stars.
Albeit a while since I read Afterlife series (which I loved), this series feels like it is following a very similar format, and I don't like Amelia like I loved Kiera.
More problematic, I felt that the first POV shift got put in the wrong place - instead of continuing the story with a different POV (or even changing POV in the midst of things), it was pretty much an exact repeat of the previous chapters, but placed several chapters later - and the repeat added little to the story - it felt like after completion, her editor requested it, she wrote a few pages and pushed them in at random.
Then there is the cliffhanger - with such a long time since I read Afterlife, I had forgotten this tendency with Stephanie Hudson's writing and it is getting VERY old and annoying - almost like the Author isn't confident enough that people will buy her next book if she doesn't force the issue - not cool.

Once upon a time in the land of the sexy, dominant Vampire king
I didn’t think Stephanie Hudson could make me love lucius (the vampire King) even more than I do, but wonderful author that she is, she did.
This book is a spin-off of her Afterlife series but my
fear that it might be kind of the same read was unfounded. This series is totally different. If you’re into sexy, dominant, baddddd Vampires than this is the book for you.
I loved it from cover to cover, re read it as soon as I finished it and I’m patiently waiting for the next book of the Transfusion series! Can’t wait!!!!

A continuation of the very much anticipated series that I have fallen in love with. The writing and character building is great and keeps you wanting to continue. A dangerous series to “just one more chapter” at night before bed. Again - this is a continuation of The Afterlife Saga. I would recommend reading that first to understand the love of the characters of this series.

Venom of God is the new paranormal romance template! I'm extremely fond of how Stephanie paces to storyline! Softer moments were trailed by action and intrigue that housed comical moments that quickly turned into a Chuck Norris Zumba dance filled with snappy insults and even an infamous "you killed Kenny" scene that had the ole heart thundering away. Transfusion carried the weight of the setup which has a history of dragging out slower scenes trapped with info, but Venom of God has the luxury of reaping the rewards for it's purpose! Steph didn't rely on much repeated info to fill pages but instead just carried the story and with Amelia's comedic performance along with Lucius's Romantic side I can honestly say Stephanie has successfully wrote a sequel of kickass repute! Now....I must wait until January to read more about my sweet little lunatic Amelia❤💋

I really enjoyed the first book in the series but this book has so much angst going on it gets annoying. And the obsessive and violent behavior her it's not appealing. I didn't even get through the book and won't continue the series.

I can't tell you if that's a good thing or not, you just need to read this saga and decide for yourself.
I just love that this is a more contemporary paranormal vampire romance. This is just everything that you could want for a 2nd part in a long saga, I believe that there are 14 books in this saga, they are all out now, this story though is just awesome incarnate and I can't wait to dive in to the rest of the audio books for this saga. (I love the audio books for this saga just like I did for the Afterlife Saga).

To much filler
I am two books in to the series and the amount of inter-monologue from the main female character and now the main male character is absolutely astonishing. There is lack of interaction between the two characters talking having conversations coming together it is absolutely disappointing. I just don’t think that I can actually finish the series and it’s disappointing because the storyline was very appealing to me. But the second book has just been absolute torture in regards to the amount of inter-monologue.I have to honestly say that it’s just a bunch of blather and repeated of the same things over and over and over again. I’m highly disappointed in the way these books were written. And the main female character she supposed to be this 27-year-old woman and she sounds like a 16-year-old girl. The way the female character is wrote into the book she’s supposed to be this princess from a larger than life supernatural world where her family is at the top but how she’s acting now she has no confidence no back bone and according to the story her mother wanted her to have all this independence and have all the strength but she has none.
How are you’ve got this young woman who supposedly knows who her chosen one is and sets off to find him only to have a heart shattered. And seven years later nothing has been resolved she pushed it to the side she went on with her life the character should have gotten stronger in her own confidence in her own mind but yet you’re still having her fall back on the same little girl mentality that she first started off her supposedly independent life with. Then you bring the male that shattered her heart Back into her life and all of his inner monologue saying that she’s going to be strong she’s gonna do this and she’s going to do that in the end you have her wimp out. You actually make it sound like the female character of this book of the series doesn’t know how to stand up for herself and say no she is railroaded not just by the main male character but also she is seen as weak and invalid by the other characters in the book except her one true friend Wendy. you even have her taking hits from supposedly her other best friend who lives across the hall from her. I just think that so much more could’ve been done with the series and this is only the second book in.This just is not the type of series that I thought it would be. Again very disappointed in it.

I’m highly disappointed in the way these books were written. And the main female character she supposed to be this 27-year-old woman and she sounds like a 16-year-old girl. The way the female character is wrote into the book she’s supposed to be this princess from a larger than life supernatural world where her family is at the top but how she’s acting now she has no confidence no back bone and according to the story her mother wanted her to have all this independence and have all the strength but she has none.
How are you’ve got this young woman who supposedly knows who her chosen one is and sets off to find him only to have a heart shattered. And seven years later nothing has been resolved she pushed it to the side she went on with her life the character should have gotten stronger in her own confidence in her own mind but yet you’re still having her fall back on the same little girl mentality that she first started off her supposedly independent life with. Then you bring the male that shattered her heart Back into her life and all of his inner monologue saying that she’s going to be strong she’s gonna do this and she’s going to do that in the end you have her wimp out. You actually make it sound like the female character of this book of the series doesn’t know how to stand up for herself and say no she is railroaded not just by the main male character but also she is seen as weak and invalid by the other characters in the book except her one true friend Wendy. you even have her taking hits from supposedly her other best friend who lives across the hall from her. I just think that so much more could’ve been done with the series and this is only the second book in.This just is not the type of series that I thought it would be. Again very disappointed in it.

I don't normally write book reviews, however after reading and finishing the 2nd book in this series (in record time I might add) that I felt compelled to write one now.
I can usually be found with my nose in a book and will basically read pretty much anything that captures my attention. I do however typically favour the paranormal romance/suspense genre which is what this particular series falls under.
I had never heard of this Author or read any of her books before and so did not know what to expect. My decision to give it a go was based purely on the brief synopsis plus reader reviews ..... but .....
Oh my word I am so glad I did!
Stephanie Hudson is without doubt an extremely talented Author. She has an unbelievable imagination and a writing style that basically reeled me in from the beginning. This series literally captured my attention from page 1 of the first book and has continued to do so with every turn of the page.
I do not wish to give any spoilers away but it is safe to say that if like me, you enjoy this type of genre then you are most definitely in for a treat.
This series basically has it all, powerful characters that you can not help but feel an instant connection to, action, suspence, violence and romance, plus a storyline that twists and turns in so many directions it will at times give you whiplash. All of this is put together with an incredibly amusing and wicked sense of humour making this series (in my opinion) one of the best I have read so far.
I am just about to begin book 3 and I honestly can not wait!

This was an action packed book, with some tender moments and some very spicy action happen.
The one thing I didn't like was how the POV shifted a few times, but a lot of the time it was repeating the same content as the previous chapter. It felt very much like filler trying to pad the page count of the book. Rather than immersing me into the story, I found it very distracting and took me out of the story.
Because I have read the original series with Draven and Keria (Amelia's parents) , I was happy to be brought back to this vast world that "SH" created a few years ago. I would strongly advise people to read the whole "Afterlife Saga" which is set a few decades earlier, but be warned it' a long series to get through and be careful not to get muddled up with the "YA" side books based in the same world, around 16 years after the final book froom "Afterlife Saga".
At the time I writing this, book 3 is due to come out this month (Jan 2020), so not too long of an wait, as the book ends on a cliffhanger.

Amelia and Licius continue to overanalyze each other.the artifact that seems so dang important continues to be a mystery.
Good laughs. Some forehead smacking going on with Amelia's continued naivete, some Lucius induced drooling. More characters introduced. Some good laugh out loud moments. Sassy banter is fun! Amelia's internal dialogue is beginning to grate on my nerves for how repetitive it is.
I forgot to mention in my review of the first book, Transfusion, that while I enjoyed it, I had to ignore the sheer volume of shit grammatical errors and editing misses to do so. Sadly, I'm actually on book 4, and this pattern has continued. Lots and lots of weird writing. Italics where they aren't needed; missing question marks; exclamation points used instead of intended question marks; missing pronouns; repetitive use of one word in some paragraphs; etc. Makes the writing seem rushed, rather than well thought out, and can't help but wonder if the series would have been better with improved editing.

If you read the first book of the saga and thought it was great this one is even better!!
This book is packed full of action and there isn't a dull moment. It has fast cars, helicopters, and even some dirt bike action in this book. You will be turning the pages to find out what happens next.
Amelia is back with her quirky comebacks and her pop culture references. She is trying to adapt to being at Transfusion which isn't easy for her. She's not quite understanding everything that is going on and is having a rough time taking it in. In true Amelia fashion though she is holding her own and standing up for what she wants.
Lucius is still being, well Lucius. You get to learn a little bit more of what makes him tick. He is a complicated guy with an interesting history. You might even find out what is under the leather glove he wears.

Lucius & Amelia: I Love How These Two Are Together! -5 Stars
Book Two picks up with a bang as Amelia and Lucius finally give in to their passion and Lucius finally admits out loud that Amelia is indeed his Electus. I love how these two are together! In many ways, Amelia is exactly as quirky and silly as Keira but for some reason, I'm not annoyed by her like I was with Keira. Maybe its because Amelia can actually kick ass like her Daddy?! Who knows but I love how Lucius is morphing from giant asshole who doesn't give a fuck to sensitive and empathetic to Amelia. And I love that only she gets to see this side of him!
I could have rated this lower due to the constant over descriptions and wild tangents the author goes on but the plot inside the superfluous information was worth giving this a 5. This installment was worthy of a read if only to enjoy Lucius who never drops character... even when he's making love to Amelia! I love it. Moving on to Book Three!

Yes, cliffhanger. Boy, oh boy! What a cliffhanger! I will have to edit review on Goodreads, along with first book in series. I purchased the Audible for first three books in series. I don't know if the other books are in Kindle Unlimited. I just had to buy them. My job is exhausting to the mind and eyesight. I can't take bathroom breaks to read on a tiny iPhone. Too obvious if I take my kindle. All I know, it's the bloody cliffhangers ruined reading a released book I've been waiting for since last year. And, T_T the new Sci-Fi books and fantasy audio books I got. So yeah, to me this is a new favorite series. Looks like I found myself a new author I expect every book to be as exemplary as the skyscraper high rollercoaster of emotions I was put through. From being annoyed to feeling foolish at being annoyed. Easily to forget these are "fictional" characters . 💖

I am addicted to this series. At first I thought that there was too much inner dialogue by heroine but as the story progresses I am finding that this is so necessary to truly understand the heroine(Amelia). I love the banter between her and the hero(Lucius) as she is constantly frustrating and surprising him. There is plenty of intrigue and action in this book to keep you engaged. I am only slightly frustrated that I started this series first as I understand that there is another series Afterlife that should actually be read first. Afterlife is the story of her mother and father but there are a number of characters and situations that are present in the Transfusion series. So what is a girl to do? I guess I will have to start the afterlife series. With that being said, I am still loving this series and can't wait to start the next book. Oh, there is are plenty of English idioms and spellings in the series which actually make this story more endearing.

I love this author's books her world building and story telling and this was no exception.
We get to see a different side to Lucius in this book and to here from his pov,the only grip i had was that it was a book of two halves the first one being a slow burn all about Amelia and Lucius getting to know each other more but at times i wanted to bash there heads together with how they were acting around each other.Lucius was a dominant sexy as sin badass vampire that at times i wanted to smack him upside the head to calm him down,ha like that was going to happen as he was the King of kings.
But then the last third of the book came alive and this is what i love about this author because this is what she excels at, getting you invested in her world where you feel you are there fighting along side Amelia against all the demons trying to kidnapp her for ransom.There was intense action and intrigue where you didn't know how she was going to get out of danger.And that ending i now need to get straight on to the next book.
