Cari Porter’s made it to Italy. But she hasn’t escaped. Dark Sky is still coming for her. Hidden in a safe house, Porter continues her search for answers about her past. Unfortunately for her, her past catches up with her. Just like everywhere else she’s been, people connected to her are killed, and she goes on the run again. This time, though, she’ll come face to face with someone who seemingly knows who she is. Will he give Porter the answers that she’s seeking, or will he be the one to finally bring her in… dead or alive.

I wish I could say that I liked the Cari Porter saga but I do not. It is disappointing that it is so predictable and not original enough to take itself beyond being a Bourne Identity clone. I was really rooting for this third installment of the story would turn the corner and get me there, but it fell short.
It's like this-- If I was not familiar with the Bourne series, I would've appreciated this series a lot more. It has the right amount of action and suspense, but what bothers me is that the Dark Sky group was so easily able to locate her no matter where she went with no tracking devices and that assets were so easily able to converge on her locations in record time. Even for fiction it just seems too far fetched. In those areas, this saga needs work and because of that, I am going to end my reading of this saga here. As a big fan of Mr. Ryan's work, I rate this series the weakest of Mr. Ryan's stories and characters unfortunately.
Carrie continues to be on the run as she tries to stay clear of Dark Sky while she tries to figure out why they are chasing her and who she is. As before, she gets help along the way, this time in Italy, but yet again people die on both sides as Dark Sky use their technology to keep on her trail. The action is constant as she battles her way along but perhaps there is some light beginning to emerge - where can she go next and stay safe?
Cari, the aim character of this book and the two previous books has been on the run in all three of these books. It’s a first, as I have never had a main character be the target in three books while running from an ‘elite’ government ‘black ops’ group. A very unique perspective. But it has been quite interesting and unique.
