They called me a savage, then threw me into their cruel arena. Instead of bleeding out in the sand like they hoped, I used the power of my gifted core to rise.
When I learned my enemies held a cure for the spreading plight of infertility, I knew why my gods had sent me.
I am Dagon Haldorson, hunter and Hearthman of the northern shores of Enea. I will grow in strength, form alliances, and win the hearts of gorgeous battle brides.
And by uncovering the lost secrets of cultivation, we may go one step further.
Together, we might change the world.
PLEASE NOTE: This book contains graphic violence, adult themes, and unconventional relationships.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. I had read the Wyvern Academy book and had not liked it but this book defiantly made me look forward to reading more from this author. The MC is very likeable but is not the boy scout hero he has no trouble doing what should be done to protect his own. Overall it was really enjoyable and I look forward to reading more of this series.
I didn’t expect much initially but i was hooked. Someone studied how hunting actually works, how weapons work, and how fighting in an arena would play out. It was refreshing to not be annoyed for an entire book. Well done sir. Cant wait for the next one.
Not exactly what I was expecting. I wouldn't necessarily call this a harem fantasy book. Does the MC have sex with more than one woman? Yes. Is he in a relationship with both those women? Yes. Despite that, the relationships aren't really what the story is about. I think of this as more of a fantasy Ben Hur story of Spartacus. The MC is from a tribe to the north that lives off the land and hunts for the tribe. The group he is with takes down a powerful beast and is on their way back to the tribe. The pancreas of this beast is needed to cure a pox in the people of his tribe. His group is waylaid by soldiers from the people of the south. Technically their land is part of that Kingdom but the tribe doesn't feel that way. His friends are killed, the beast is taken and he is taken as a slave. He has an ability with mana that makes him a rare find. He is being brought back to the kingdom and will be put into the arena for the people's entertainment. I liked the first half of the book better than the second half, mainly because the MCs goals were easier to follow. He wanted revenge for being captured and he wanted to stay alive. There are multiple aspects to the arena Overall the book was enjoyable and I will continue with the series.
A good read and a MC that I can root for. It makes me suspect that the author has read some original Conan books, as I get a bit of that feel from the northern barbarian on a mission to undermine the decadent southern kingdoms.
There is nothing new under the sun, and of course there are different elements. It is turning into a harem by the end of the book, so that isn't the main thrust. There is also talk to cultivation, but again, this book seems to set both of those elements up for exploitation in further books. Anyway, a solid 4 and I'll be looking for the sequel.
Fantasy LitRPG harem adult situations Atlas Kane starts a new series with an engaging story and never lets up the pace. I had intended on taking a short break, but never found the right place to pause. The name of the series is a bit over the top, but if you can ignore that, the action will keep you turned in. I look forward to reading more about Dagon and his wives Caydri's, Ilona, and as yet unmet yet third woman wanting a child. Will she stay once she learns Dagon plans to keep her if he gives her a child? Will they learn to share skills with each other? Will they stop off to meet Caydri's father? Will Ilona get her research lab and how will they really react to their daughter's marriage? Dragon took his time with Caydri's, but minds are curious if the fertility orb will grant healing or if the elf-woman if indisposed due to achy lady-bits the next day. Okay, the last one wasn't serious but it was amusing to contemplate. Recommended.
A good book for this genre. Nothing to spectacular. Like other books in the genre this has its own unique take on gaining power. Closer to cultivation though i expect the second book for formally introduce that..... The character is likeable and the support characters are unique and fun. I like having the wives being powered on their own and not being meek and needing constant protection. The fighting In the book is prevalent and well written Very exciting. No there is nothing super unique in this Book and or series I enjoyed it. I will be reading the next book.
The story is well written it has real rounded characters as well as good world building. For me the characters are well written and I can see them in my mind's eye. The fight scenes are well thought out and make sense and are very entertaining. The main character is a likable character as well as being strong thoughtful even though he is very rough around the edges. The women in his life are strong independent and interesting. I really enjoyed the story and hope to read the second one soon.
Great story of revenge, a little loose on the cultivation aspect, but that is a good thing. Think more fantasy and less Asian style cultivation. The MC is no wus like a lot of other novels of this genre. Can’t wait to see where the author takes this story in the next installment.
Dag the Northman is captured by Thorben Ramsey and forced to fight against various beasts. He receives additional power as he defeats various opponents and beasts. Dag receives a bride as a part of his combat winnings.
The motivations behind the MC in this book are really flimsy. He gets turned into literal slavery but manages to fight his way out of it almost immediately. Then he just continues down this new path of life with no turning back... The story is fine but it really should have just been him joining on his own merit instead of that whole slavery part.
I am newer to cultivation novels but I have to say this one hit every point I love in a litrpg book. Romance fighting and strength of an underdog!! I am waiting for the next fix I mean book with baited breath!
I did enjoy this book and look forward to the next. Will the Beast continue on his streak and get stronger? I can't wait to find out. The book does contain some adult scenes.
What a wonderful story to begin a series with!!! Powerful characters, an entertaining view of cultivation and awesome adult fantasy!!! This author has always written first rate stories but this maybe his best so far!!! Thank you and more please!!!
I like this book. The fact that the mc is a bit older is unusual as well. I like it though. Makes more sense that an older man would be able to keep his tongue when insulted.
I enjoyed everything about this book. It was fun following a gladiator like main character who came upon his lovely ladies and took the time to honor his brothers in the moment called for it. Starting book 2 now.
Oh my lanta did I love this book. Started off great and just kept getting better and better. Amazing character development, awesome world building, it was just everything you could want in a book.
Main hero is a bad ass, I like his origin, and his abilities. Interesting premise for a world, and a map. I love maps of new worlds, and the description of who lives where in the world. Characters are great, love to see their progression as they get stronger.
The book contains a great cast of characters with interesting backstories for each. The lore and mysteries within the world kept me wanting to know more. Overall, this was an enjoyable read.
Fun to read, memorable characters, decent sex scenes. Interesting take on magic. Decent polyamory fiction, enough emotional context to make it at least somewhat believable.
I rather enjoyed this tale. The MC is growing in power but is not op yet. The harem element is tasteful and has a logical progression that makes sense. Good job!
There is a surprising amount of thought to different cultures, theology, and character backgrounds. But still channels a straightforward Gladiator vibe
