Beautifully written forbidden love you can’t help but root for!
Falling for your former brother-in-law would cause drama in any situation, but add in the fact they're both celebrities and you get a sensational story that you can’t help but devour.
I loved the unique way Dillon presented Brandon and Ava’s story. We get to be in the audience while their history is rolled out in excruciating detail, but we also get to see the behind-the-scenes heartbreak and emotional trauma they both endured because of the selfish a-holes in their lives.
Brandon is a sweet alpharoll who puts his trust in the wrong people. Ava is a badass mom trying to get through life after the aftermath of marrying Brandon's brother Grayson Wentworth, one of the most selfish pricks in the industry. No I take that back. THE WORLD. #cancelGraysonWentworth is all I’m going to say about him.
The scenes when Ava and Brandon finally give in to their attraction are steamy and emotional. You quickly forget that their love is forbidden and join team #BrAvaForever.
I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this book. I couldn’t put it down and have zero regrets. It’s dramatic, heartwarming, at times frustrating (in a good way), but the HEA makes it all worth it. Also, Ava’s son Ethan, needs a book. He was the real hero of the story. I can’t wait to see what Dillon offers us next. Whatever it is, I’ll brew the coffee extra strong because I’ll no doubt be pulling another all nighter.

Back and fourth will have your emotions rocking. Dillon Bancroft created a wonderful forbidden, second-chance love story that switches between events of the past and the aftereffects of the present. Ave is divorcée raising her two kids while trying to break back into the movie industry that has cast her in a negative light, heavily favoring her ex-husband’s side of their disastrous marriage. Brand is the NFL star ex-brother-in-law who is successful in his career, but his personal life lacks the things he’s always wanted—a loving wife and children.
They shouldn’t be together. It’s taboo, forbidden. But these two can’t fight their attraction, with chemistry off the charts. Their hidden romance has consequences that will affect their future paths.
A chance encounter on a talk show brings the past to the present, revealing old hurts and regrets. Betrayals are revealed from both sides of the story that are soul-crushing. Through clever writing skills, you feel the realistic emotions these characters experience as the story unfolds in tragic ways.
The plot and the pace of this book keep you engaged, flipping the pages long into the night. The characters are believable and relatable, so much so, that you can’t help but root for both sides of the divide. I enjoyed the dialogue and steamy scenes that gave life to these two lovable main characters.
It’s been a long time since I picked up a book and didn’t put it down ‘till it was fully complete. This story has captivated me every step of the way. If forbidden, second-chance romances are you jam, then please pick up this authors novel—you will not be disappointed. My rating is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
the author gave me a copy of the book in exchange for a review.

This is not typically a book I go for but it kept me hooked while reading it. The main characters are very interesting. They have their own humor and I love the way they interact with each other. The writing makes it very easy to read through because its very detailed and in understandable language.
I couldn’t put this book down. Ava is so relatable, strong yet still a hot mess. So man ugly things about divorce that this book does not shy away from. I think the part that hooked me in WAS the ugly. Brandon is doing his best (but still there are moments you want to shake him) but Gray? I would happily murder him and go to jail for Ava. Be prepared to cry people.
A new author for me and it was very different in a good way. The story did set off my emotions but it also had me loving the different aspect of characters and the struggles they went through.

Words fail me to review this book. The story was so riveting that I spent the whole day reading it. Ava and Grayson are Hollywood actors who fall in love and marry. They have two children who play a major part in the story. Grayson, however doesn’t have a faithful bone in his body and starts cheating almost immediately. They divorce and Grayson puts out the story that Ava trapped him, effectively ruining her career. She doesn’t fight back trying to shield her children. Each move on with their lives, but Grayson continuous to make Ava look to bad knowing she will continue to protect the children instead of herself. Grayson’s brother, pro football star Brandon steps up and helps Ava. The kids adore him and the couple fall in love. Only things don’t work out the way we as reader want them to. Fast forward six years and Ava goes on national tv to tell her side of the story not realizing she is once again being set up to take the fall. I have to stop my review so I don’t give the storyline away. This is an awesome book and I am so glad I found it on Kindle Unlimited.
Disclosure: I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
There were a few grammatical errors that will hopefully be fixed before publication.
The story follows Ava who is a famous child actress. She falls in love with a co-star, Grayson Wentworth, and gets married. They have two kids. He ends up having countless affairs and they end up divorced. He drags her name through the tabloids to make her look like the bad guy.
The book follows a TV interview she agrees to almost ten years after the divorce to share her side of the story. The chapters are from now and the past. Of course, the interview didn’t go as planned. It was another one of his plans to make her look like the bad guy.
After chapter 4, the meat of story between Ava and her former brother-in-law, Brandon, really starts to heat up. This relationship is the whole reason Grayson truly set up the interview.
I couldn’t put it down after this point. If you like forbidden love or second chances, I would recommend Back and Forth.
I was so excited when I read the description for this book. I am a total sucker for forbidden love, athletes/famous characters, and books that go back and forth between the two romantic leads points of view. I really enjoyed this book and I a so impressed that Bancroft was able to create such a seamless storyline for her debut novel. I loved all of the characters, with the exception of Grayson and Ellen, but then that's the point, they're the villains! I particularly loved the relationship Ava had with her children, as well as Brandon's willingness to be vulnerable and put his feelings on the line. I am looking forward to what comes next from Dillon Bancroft!
Once I started this I could not put it down. So much angst and drama. I wanted to keep reading and see what might happen next & I was not disappointed at all. Loved all the characters too! You should definitely add to your TBR or just go ahead and read it!!!!!
Back and Forth was my first story by Bancroft, and let me just say she quickly became a one-click Author for me. This book pulled me in from the very beginning, and I just didn't want to put it down. I'm going to make this as simple as I can because I don't want to give anything away. This is a rollercoaster of a book that you have to go through on your own to really understand it. This is a beautifully written love story that I just can't get enough of. If you don't have a TikTok made me do it list, you need to make one now. Add this to it, then go grab it up on Amazon. You can even read with Kindle Unlimited. You won't regret gobbling this one up, that I can promise ya. Dylan, you have a reader at Haney Hayes PR, hit us up anytime!
I always am a sucker for romance and an ending that ends happily what can I say. When starting this book I was very skeptical about this marriage or whatever Ava and Gray had. I wasn’t sure where this book was going to go since for the most part I try not to read so much about what each book I read is about. I feel when doing this I don’t know all the information and it’s like putting a puzzle together and trying to find all the pieces.
I just don’t know how a parent could treat their child or children in the way that gray has done. My heart broke for everyone included because sometimes parents don’t know how to be parents for their children and they tend to always mess things up and never truly figure out how to make things right. I got sucked into this book and I was unable to put it down and started it in the late evening and finished into the next day at 1am.
I hated what Ellen and Gray had done and that is what made me sad the most. I cried, I cried for Ava who wanted to trust another man and ended up getting hurt, I cried for her children who had to put up with a father who didn’t love them like he should, I cried for the the children who thought things were going to be different with Brandon and were going to be better, I then happily cried for the way the book had ended.
I can always tell if the book is good if I end up crying. I am thankful that the book even though it went through a lot of ups and downs did end on a happy note as that is my book of choice. I know not everyone is thrilled with happy endings and that fairytale story but sometimes that’s what a person needs to read to warm their heart.
Although there was a bit too much "play-by-play" I liked the writing style overall. Ava, bless her soul, is a character you will either love for her fierce momminess or despise for being a doormat and waffling between the praising of her ex or the curses thrown at his head.
I say he deserved the latter and then some.
As for Brandon, I would have liked to know why he had fallen for Ava in the first place and a little more about his career. When they first met, he seemed to have a lot of time on his hands rather than being out on the field.
These little niggles kept me from enjoying the story as much as I could have, but nonetheless, I did read on and wasn't (very) disappointed for doing so.

An entertaining story with good characters and an intriguing storyline. I chose to read this book because I thought it sounded good after I read the blurb. It was good though I didn’t connect with the story and characters as much as I thought I would. I requested a copy of this book and am voluntarily writing a review.
Plot over absolutely everything else. No thank you. Missing words. Exposition dumps. And it's unclear who is doing the talking and when. I cannot believe the author acknowledges beta readers and an actual editor. Get your money back and get some friends that will tell the truth.
