The Wicked Ending
Brooke Carver is living a lie. She is living in the shell of the bubbly girl she once was. Long gone is the girl that is everybody's best friend, the girl that radiated sunshine and was the life of the party. No one knows what she’s going through, what darkness she hides behind a perfect smile. Her friends and family believe she is off at college, back to her old self, and has moved on from what happened. But that is far from the truth. Brooke dropped out of school, moved back to her hometown in an apartment far from her family, and is hyper-fixated on self-defense training. Silas Moreno, an ex-marine, is moving through the motions of his new civilian life. He’s lost when he returns home from his final tour overseas as the sole survivor of his unit, carrying a weight no one can imagine. Completely adrift, he stumbles upon a dojo that offers him a newfound purpose, teaching self defense.
Brooke is his star pupil, the fastest learner he's ever worked with. He doesn't question her rapidly growing skills until she shows up with her torso covered in bruises that were definitely not caused during their sessions. He cares deeply about her, and wants to discover the reasons she is so desperate to turn her body into a weapon. Throughout their months of training, they have grown close but Brooke always seems to be slightly out of reach. As their relationship progresses, so does the darkness and danger lurking in the shadows.
When an envelope filled with photos of her at various places, including outside of her apartment, shows up on her doorstep, she is forced to choose someone to trust. But time is running out, her friends are being taken. And she’s next. No matter who she trusts or what steps she takes, only one of them will make it out of this alive.
Her past is coming back for her, and it will either kill her or set her free.

This book was the perfect ending to the wicked series. I’ve grown so attached to this series & I’m not ready to say goodbye to these characters. This book releases on 10/14/23 - MARK YOUR CALENDARS BABES!!

This was my first arc ever!!!!
And i did not expect to love this book so much . Finished in one sitting , got me hooked from the first chapter . And it's so fast paced and easy to read . I love these kind of books .

This book, though pretty short, but packs up a bunch. It’s the third in the series. I skipped the first two as they have low ratings and forwarded to this one which has a decent 4 star ⭐️ rating.
Brooke is a rape survivor whose life has been turned upside down after she realises that her rapist has been her current boyfriend at the time who has made her fall in love with him while holding her every time she shattered due to her rape aftermath episodes. Sickening I know.
In comes Silas, ex-marine with too much torture and damage in his past who turns into Brooke’s self defence instructor.
Sparks fly and well, their love story is a very slow burn. Minimal PDA. Spice almost non existent.
The story is more about Brooke surviving herself after being a rape victim and struggling to overcome the shallow person that she has become especially when she dones a mask every time she is around her family so as not to make them worry about her mental struggles.
Until now, beautiful story. Full of crude realities. The struggling is pretty brutal. Her surviving is realistic. But her recovery is worth it.
SPOILERS AHEAD
Here come my “skeptic thoughts”.
In previous books we discover that Brooke’s rapist is actually her boyfriend. So…. that means that after being raped she has ACTUALLY found someone (unbeknownst to her that it was her rapist) to love, to trust and to confide in.
Yet! In this book, the author and hence Brooke, goes on and on about not being able to trust anyone because she was raped. Not being able to love because as mentioned before she doesn’t trust anyone. And she is in a constant state of fear of people around her turning on her.
So here comes my question. Shortly after being raped you found a doting boyfriend and are seemingly on your way to recovery.
Why is it that now you are giving Silas such a hard time attributing it to your rape?! 🤷🏻♀️
Also, the handcuffing-him-to-the-fridge, in my opinion is a bit too much.
I respect the message behind this book. I respect the real struggles of rape victims and the monumental pressure they go through in their lives after the incident. I loved how patient Silas is and how he puts her and her fears first. And then of course the role the dogs play in both of their healings is adorable.
However, romance is irrelevant in this book and for that I give it a decent 3.5 rating.

The perfect ending to the series!!!! All 3 of the books hold a very space place in my heart!!!
It was a rollercoaster of emotions and i loved every minute of it!!!!
My babies Brooke and Silas aaaahhhh they have me on chokehold!!!! They need to be protected at all costs!
Brooke is a such a resilient woman that been through a really traumatic event but no matter what she never gave up!
Silas my man, he has his own fare share of demons and trauma in his past too.
These two souls were meant to be, their demons made one to be a piece of the other! They protect eachother no matter what!!!!
Peach, Luce and Loki are so freaking precious and they have my heart!!!!

The perfect ending
I didn't want this series to end because i love all these characters too much, but Pru gave them all the happily ever after they deserved. This was so hard after the ending of book 2. I was scared, rightfully so. This book has a hea, so now i can say, This book had me sobbing!!!! Omg so much happens and it's so fast. I felt connected to Brooke from the water fountain in the backyard. I love her and am so glad she got her own book and her dogs and fluffy and Silas. She is such a different person in this book which only makes me love her more. And I'm so glad we still had the old crew. This series will forever live in my soul.

Pru really finished this series with a perfectly wrapped bow and a *chef's kiss. I think this might be my favorite of the three, but that feels offensive, as Stella and Becca's stories were also so heart-wrenchingly perfect. You really get an inside look into Brooke's mind as she grapples with becoming a new person in spite of everything she's been through throughout the series. I wanted to reach out and hug her at the end, and tell her how brave and strong she was for not only saving her friends, but also herself. And Silas? (swoon!) Brooke ended up finding the perfect man for her. I love love loved this story.

I freaking loved this book! Okay so this is the third and final book in the Wicked series and honestly is my favorite.
This book is not your typical romance, it’s got some thriller elements and the characters and story are so interesting and gripping. You’ll be hooked. This thriller romance is filled with some forced proximity and HE FALLS FIRST. Stay along for the ride and enjoy the happily ever after.
Also, the trauma was written so well and handled so delicately. I really felt for her 💔❤️

I think this book was a beautiful ending to the Wicked series. I love how we got to see the struggles that Brooke is going through in the aftermath to everything that happened to her and I’m glad she had Silas to help her along when she needed it the most.
I loved that we also got to see Silas’s struggles and the struggles of being an ex marine back home and how he was able to understand to a degree in what Brooke was going through.
Brooke is so fucking strong and I was a bit shocked with the complication, I thought the story was going in a completely different direction.
