This one was for all the marbles or should I say for all the ones who lost their marbles since this one has a mama Grizzly, a psychotic evil mastermind, a Grizzly in love with an already mated hawk, a Hummer load of angry shifters with kill skills and questionable sanity, and weapons- lots of weapons. I have been with this series since the beginning with Reid and Tammy, Boris and Jan, Gene and his Pima, Kyle and his girls, Brody and Layla and now in 'cub grows up' style, it all comes to an end with Travis and Dr. Jess. The loveable, playful and confident Grizzly with the big...growl, yep growl brings the series home with this exciting, passionate, and humor-filled final installment to the series.

I suppose one could read these out of order in a pinch, but I really wouldn't recommend it.

Travis is a 'proud to wear the t-shirt' mama's boy, but even a mama's boy wants to be thought a worthy male for his mate and to his friends who have all proved they deserve to carry their man cards. Travis gets the tricky job of going on his first mission against an enemy that will take the whole gang to bring down while he woos a mate that puts the 'its' in it's complicated. His bear half is on board even if he'll have to convince his protective mama who makes even the other males cower in terror.

Jess moved to Kodiak Point to be the doctor and has found a home and place in the community. She is alone because her mate went off to war and refuses to come home. She is well aware that he has been unfaithful and others know it too. Still, she's mated for better or worse so she can't give in to the constant temptation of a certain Grizzly that she is not as indifferent to as much as she pretends. Travis doesn't seem like her type at all the way he never takes anything seriously, but yet he's the one who wants her, wants to be with her and places himself between her and danger. Time together tracking down their enemy, seeing Travis with his friends and on the mission and dealing with her jerk mate leave Jess with a lot to think about.

I had a really good time with this story. There was so much going on and so many emotions this story elicited from me. Par for the course was the sexy shifters teasing and tantalizing each other and the element of danger that has their inner beasts raring to go. The set up on this one has some lovely bits of subtlety that lead to nice plot twists and surprises. Things get really bad for the good guys and they are by far the underdogs, but I loved the suspense of not knowing how the author was going to work them out of the tight spot and prevail.

I always enjoy that each shifter pair is unlikely and unique and their situations are complicated in their own way. Travis' brand of complicated is to fall for an already mated female. We all have certain romance scenarios that make us uneasy or even full out don't care for. The 'fall in love with someone already in a relationship' is one of them for me so I confess that I couldn't see how I was going to enjoy this story, but somehow I did. I had a few moments that made me uneasy, but for the most part it worked. Jess was an honorable lady who took her vows seriously and even sought reconciliation while denying something special with Travis. Travis can't help who he loves and he only demands honesty from Jess as he waits for his chance with her. Travis and his bear spirit half are ready to do some slicing and dicing to see the way clear for him and Jess, but with Jess, I think the delay of resolving one gone-bad relationship is good because it takes most of the story for her to really learn to appreciate all that is Travis. There is much more to him than meets the eye and I loved seeing all that under the surface stuff right along with Jess.

As this was the final book in the series, I was thrilled to see that several from the previous books get some good page time. The brotherhood feel between the guys was a nice added touch. Seeing some of these big tough bruisers adjust to being family men was a hoot. Reid and Boris as soon to be daddies? Oh yes! The Kodiak point series is wrapped up neatly.

I highly recommend this series to those paranormal romance fans looking for something hot, light and quick with with a twisty humorous tone.

My thanks to the author who provided this book in exchange for an honest review.

To a shifter, no one is more important than their mate. Travis has found his and wants to get his happily ever after started but there's one problem. Jess is married. Travis isn't the type of man to let something like a poor excuse for a husband get in the way of what he wants. When the opportunity rises for him to help hunt down the creature that's plagued Kodiak Point, Travis is set to go and lucky him; he'll be coming face to face with Jess' husband.

When you think Travis is becoming too much of a goofball or he's approaching unjust arrogance, he proves he's not all talk. Travis is such a crack up and I gravitated towards him in the beginning and he becomes more lovable here as he takes a step away from the shameless mama's boy and becomes more of a take charge male that's a great fit for Jess. He never loses his humor and easy going demeanor yet there's some growing up here that I think makes him even better.

Where is Jess while Travis is playing hero? With him and the others heading overseas to hunt a monster and confront her no good husband. I wouldn't call Jess fearless for running off to fight but rather she doesn't want anyone else fixing her mistakes (i.e. her ill-conceived marriage). I appreciate that she's practical and knows when it's time to step aside and let the more capable people step in and accepts by doing so doesn't diminish her power. Not all heroines seem to understand that and it drives me crazy. I did initially think she might be too serious for Travis but their chemistry and how she accepts and loves him just as he is makes her perfect.

Grizzly Love marks the end of the Kodiak Point series (at least it's written as if it's the end) and the author does a really good job giving readers a satisfying finale. The bad guy (or gal??) is confronted, traitors are revealed, and Travis' mother demonstrates the proper way to unjam a gun. I'm not sure if that's the correct wording but I do know that scene is hilarious. I've had fun with the series and all the unusually pairings and though I'll miss the characters, I'm glad it's ending on a sweet note.

My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens.com.

Grizzly Love is the last installment of the Kodiak Point series. In this story, we have Travis, the “cub” that drives everyone in Kodiak Point crazy. He is a momma’s boy and is proud of it. But then, everyone in the town is too scared to call him out for it. His mom and her wooden spoon keep the town in line. And if that doesn’t scare you, she could always cut you off from her cooking. That doesn’t mean that Travis doesn’t get picked on or beaten up, because he takes his fair share of beatings.

Dr. Jess is fairly new to Kodiak Point. She moved to be the town doctor. She is married, but her husband is off in the old troop that the boys in Kodiak Point were in, but refuses to come home, even when given leave. He hasn’t been faithful to her and everyone knows it. Problem is that Jess is a red-tailed hawk and they mate for life, so no matter what her husband has done, she can’t move on with him alive. He is a raven and no such qualms.

When the group learns that the naga, and villain from the previous book, has fled the country and is now not far from where their old military group is stationed, they decide to go after him. Jess, deciding this is a great way to confront her cheating husband, insists on going. It will be dangerous and they’ll need a doctor, right? Well, that then drives Travis to insist on going. He has had a crush on Jess since he first met her. He wasn’t about to let her go into danger without him there to help protect here. Plus, he might finally get in on some action.

Grizzly Love is a great wrap-up to the series. The overall story arc has great closure. We have a great happy ever after for all the characters in Kodiak Point. There are several couples that are even expecting babies. This story has everything you would expect from the series. It is funny, sexy and full of action. I highly recommend this series if you like your shifters with a side of sarcasm. I would recommend starting the series from the beginning, though I don’t know that you would be completely lost if you picked up a book in the middle.

Narration
Chandra Skyye continues to do a good job with this series. I can easily tell the difference between each of the characters. I do listen at an increased speed, because her pacing is a little slow for me, but it works perfectly at that increase. I would still like to see her add more humor to these hilarious book, but overall, not bad.

I like to thank Tantor Media for providing me with a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This series has been pretty hit and miss for me. This one fell closer to the miss line.

I was looking forward to Travis getting his story, and after about 50% in things did get better. I just felt that if you're a shifter that mates for life you should know if you are actually mated to someone. It should be internal as well as external.

In the end there were just too many predictable aspects of the story.

This review is for book five in the five book (plus a novella) Kodiak Point paranormal romance series by Eve Langlais. The series is based around a rural town run by shifter Reid Carver, and many of the guys featured in the books are war veterans who were also prisoners of war. It is a great, fun series and most of the books range around 200-240 or so pages so the length is good. You will find humor, steamy shifter love, and the author’s typical flair for the unusual and unexpected.

Grizzly Love touches a little on a kind of taboo subject in romance – adultery and behavior of the female partner in the situation. I do not want to ruin the story, but I will say that I enjoyed the book from several aspects. First, I am certain fans of the series were clamoring for a story with Travis the adorable young grizzly shifter at its heart. Second, the fact that Travis is crushing hard on the town doctor, an older woman, and a married lady all in one make for some interesting points. There were points when I was unsure that the story was going to go in a direction that my heart could follow, but I will definitely just trust in the author and her experience in the genre after this book. This book was especially exciting as the group goes back to the war zone to encounter their shared enemy.

If you have yet to check out the Kodiak Point series, then this would be an awesome moment because you can just binge through the whole thing! These books are fun, active, and steamy reads.

I love Kodiak Point residents. All hardcore, badass shifters. And then we have Travis. A fun loving guy. Well, shifter. His antics makes you smile or roll your eyes. Or both. Who wish to be like his hero bosses: Boris, Brody, Gene and others guys. To be a kick a** shifter. Which guys most of the time laugh at. And most of the time, because of protective moma. She lost her husband. So, she keeps Travis as close as she can.

But, theres situation with Kodiaks enemy. Again. And they have to travel. Travis going to. Because his woman, Jess, is going. His married woman. Just not to him. Which have some score to settle, with her absent 'dear' husband. (Note my sarcasm here.). Oh, there is really a story to tell about. But, you will just have to read, to know more about it.

Okey, so, back to the journey. I don't think guys, expected much help from Travis. I don't say they underrated him. Just he never was in military. So, Travis don't have a training for battle. But...They all get a big surprise. Travis is more then guy with a sexy smile, who drops inappropriate jokes. He has a lot of sides, he hides. Travis can be a deadly grizzly. Especially, when his mate is in danger.

This story is no different from others. Not 'no different' in bad way. I meant it was awesome as always by Eve. Her stories always draws you in her amazing stories. Some, well almost all, her expressions are so unique. I really would love to be a guest in her mind. Lol.

And I don't even should mention, that this story have a lot of funny moments. Because...Hello! This is Eve story. You will always get a good dose of laugh.

I laughed in this book quite a bit. I've always found Travis to be a bit annoying....in an endearing way. I will say a lot of that isn't his fault. Its just how he's treated because he is younger than them all. His mother smothers him...which he kinda allowed...but to be fair she is kinda scary! LOL. A lot of the guys haven't given him a fair chance. I think Gene kinda has because he knows Travis' secret which he's really smart. He puts off this childlike attitude and jokester. He is but he isn't which makes Travis the perfect soldier type. I loved that part in the cells...that was priceless. His comrades had no idea he had THAT hidden. I also felt bad for Jess because she was kinda stuck and lets be honest her husband was a real bastard. She didnt even know that and that kinda had to hurt. I'm glad things worked out well in the end. The sex scenes in this one weren't as "interesting" as the other books. Thats probably because so much was going on that anything more than what happened would have pulled from the story and action a bit. I didn't see that coming with the Naga! Anyone else with me there? LOL. I kinda have a feeling this might be it with this series which sucks because its so freakin awesome. Maybe Eve will surprise us and write more about it with other characters. :) I was sad/surprised that Sarge went bad because he taught the guys so much and that kinda had to hurt them. :( Anyways...great book and loved it and laughed a lot! Rawr!

Eve Langlais has done it again with the Kodiak Point series! Travis is a grizzly bear who still lives with his mother and is a cousin to Reid who is alpha to the clan. No one will hurt him because of his mother, who everyone knows has a wooden spoon and is afraid to use it. Travis doesn't mind getting pick on by the others because he said that how he learns things to protect himself. He is also in love with the clan doctor.
Jess is the doctor in the clan and is married to a soldier over seas that she hasn't seen in three years. He takes leave but stays over seas. He has affairs with other women that she hears about though the grapevine. She knows she made a mistake in marrying him but now she wants some answers. She is a hawk and they marry for life so no divorce for her.
Travis, her and the others are going over seas to kill the naga which is a snake shifter that has cause so much problems in Kodiak Point. They had contacted their old sarge for help and he said that the army would help with what they could. When they get there the first person they see is Freddy, Jess's husband, and she has a fight with him in front of everyone.
Everything goes wrong with the trip starting from the time they land. They know there is a traitor in the camp. Can they all survived this trip? Can Jess get her husband back or will he be killed by her? Will Travis and Jess get together?
This book has danger and romance!!! True love is high on the list!!!
It is a must read!!!!

Ok, this may just be the best novel in this series. Langlais’ wildly imaginative plot was both fast paced and compelling. It was a plot full of suspense and intrigue that kept me on my toes. Vivid descriptions bring the vastly different locales to life while highlighting the dangers faced.

I enjoy how the shifters are all one people but yet there are differences between the different castes. Langlais’ vividly real characters definitely catch your attention. The larger than life personalities make them impossible to walk away from. I loved how there was so much more to Travis than meets the eye. His cunning and brains were a fantastic counterpoint to his carefree and fun loving attitude. I also appreciated how his caring and compassionate attitude had Jess questioning her long held beliefs, going after what is right for her.

This was a fantastic conclusion to Langlais’ Kodiak Point series, bringing everything to a satisfying conclusion without making it too perfect.

I really enjoyed this series but this one just wasn't quite as good as the previous books in the series. Still it's a fun, light-hearted read with quirky characters and some humor. The solution to the on-going plot line just wrapped up a bit too easily for me and the relationship between the main characters could have been developed a bit more IMO.

* You need to have read the previous books to fully enjoy this one.

An very adventurous conclusion to the series. Travis has volunteered to go after the bad-guy after the events of the previous book. To his amazement his long-time crush Jess ( the town doctor) will also tag along on this trip. Her cheating husband is servng in the army in the surroundings of the location of the bad-guy and she want to resolve the situation one way or another.

Pro's:
+ Even though there are 2 main storylines, they are woven together very professional. It never gets confusing or boring and the story ends up being very easy to read because of it. There are comedic bits and bits that read like you're watching an action movie and I truely love the way this series ends.
+ Travis and Jess are 2 very likeable heroes and mainly Travis is one of the more charismatic hero's in this entire series. He is not as dark and gritty as the other males and he has a certain happy attitude that made him one of my favorite hero's from Eve thus far.

Con's:
- There are a few WTF moments and I'm not sure if I'm liking them or hate them. When the identity of the bad-guy was revealed I was like, WTF why. It was too much and less dramatic detals would have made the moment of the revelation stronger then it was now.

A fun and adventurous story that can be read as a light read anytime. I truely liked the multiple storylines and the way they came together in the end. There is also a little set-up for the Bitten Point series, but it is not done in a invading or irritating manner, so I let it slide this one time. I will recommend this complete series if you want something easy and fun to read ( and if you're really into shifter novels lke me :) ).

Are you ready for a grizzly kind of love?
His mother would have beaten him to within an inch of his life, if she knew Travis had the hots for the town doctor, but he couldn't help it.
Dr. Jess, a redhead with a few years on him, was his soulmate. His inner grizzly knew it. He knew it. Suspected she did as well. But he did have one dilemma standing in his way.
Her husband.
Talk about inconvenient.
Good thing Travis was tenacious. Even if he has to travel half a continent, and brave some hot sands, subsist on crappy food and survive attempts on his life he won't give up until he wins her heart.
Or dies trying.
Jess made a mistake. She married too young, to the wrong man. Problem is, hawks mate for life, and murder is against the law. To add more insult to the situation, her mate won't even attempt to be a husband. It seems he isn't interested in keeping his vows, nor is he coming home anytime soon, so when the chance arises to confront him, she takes it. However facing him changes nothing.
Freddie doesn't want her...but Travis does.
And oh how she wants him too. Wants and yet can't have him.
However, her marital problems aren't the only issue. Their pursuit of the nefarious being behind the attacks on their town is being sabotaged by treachery. When Jess and Travis barely survive an ambush, she can no longer deny her love for the rascally bear. But will they survive enough to see if it's possible for her to rectify a wrong and take him as her mate?

Heather's Notes
Per the book, this is the last book of the series, although Goodreads has more listed. Still this was a very good wrap up of the series. I liked that Travis finally got his woman, and Jess was a good character. I enjoyed this series, but EL usually does good series.

I gave Grizzly Love a solid go, but I’ve had to tap out with just two hours left. I’ve officially lost interest in the series. This book felt oddly childish, not in terms of the actual content, but the tone and delivery just didn’t land for me anymore. You know that feeling when something’s meant to be spicy or intense, but it comes off more like a cartoon? That.

I’ve enjoyed parts of Kodiak Point in the past, but this one made it clear I’m done. The humour didn’t hit, the romance felt flat, and I couldn’t connect with the characters.

Not every series stays a favourite, and that’s okay. Time to move on to something that sparks again.

Kodiak point

This book would suit any reader interested in fantasy, mystery, adventure and of course love.
Kodiak Point is a place we're shifter can be themselves, no matter what animal they shift into they are welcome here.
Travis a grizzly bear shifter, falls for the new Doctor, Dr Jess is a red-tailed hawk, just one small problem.
Dr Jess is married to a man who doesn't want her, but hawks mate for life.
Everything warms up when they, a team from Kodiak Point, end up in the desert to fight an old enemy.👍

In general for all of Langlais' books: These are light and fluffy, funny and sexy, and easy, quick reads. Great poolside or beach reads, or when your brain is overwhelmed by RL. My only peeve (and this may just be because I binged her books) is that she constantly uses "portal" when she means "door" or "doorway". The books could use one last round of editing, but the errors are minor and don't take away from the enjoyment of reading them.

This book was silly but enjoyable. Travis is a bear shifter and a mama's boy. He and some of the other shifters travel on a mission to the middle east - I'm still not sure of the whole reason, but something to do about the Nala (snake shifter.) Travis is interested in bird shifter Dr Jess Weller, but she's not interested. But on the trip things change. There was lots of suspense and excitement in this book, but also plenty of humor and silliness.

So Many Laughs!

I just loved this story. I loved the continuation of the characters and the storyline so much. Travis got his lady! Jess and Travis were adorable together. I couldn’t believe the Naga was female. I actually thought that the dad lived. I just hope she’s gone forever. 6 books with her is enough. And I knew Frederick was bad as well as the Hippo. But sheesh all of them!!! Whew! On to the next story. 😊😊😊😊😊💜💜💜💜💜🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Wonderful!!!!!

I’m so glad Travis got his story told. And what a tale it was! Not only was his character expounded upon, but it showed just how much of a mama’s boy he truly was not. That he falls for the town’s Doctor, made it even better. So if whoever is reading this appreciates intelligent, humor in their books this series is a must!

This was a lot of fun, a lot of action, and a lot of heat! Unrequited, because of circumstances, these two finally get their chance and they take it. It doesn’t start out that way, the obstacles seem unsurmountable, but as certain things become clear, they decide to not hold back. Loved the conclusion of this longer story arc, and the resolution of this outstanding couple 😊

I loved this whole serious. It started with Reid and ended with his cousin Travis. That's why he tried so hard to be one of the guys. The stories were stand alone but together too. Don't miss crock returns that serious is great too.

Although it still had some humor, this one just wasn't as good as the previous installments. There were a lot of "oh poor me. I made a bad choice and can't get a divorce" moments. I obviously have a problem with otherwise intelligent women staying in a bad relationship.
