Ashera, the first queen Dunya has ever seen, is believed to be dead. A public announcement when the King of Qamar is beheaded offers a direct challenge to those responsible. Further, a declaration by the new joint rulers of Qamar—Winta and Thorne, her newest mates and both powerful shifters—not only confirms Ashera’s death but also thrusts her four mates into the spotlight.

Malachi, the former incubus assassin turned general turned king. He’s the de facto alpha of Ashera’s mates and has stepped into the role of ruler of Shaytan with the promise of vengeance, bloodshed, and no prisoners.

Jacobi, the angel king who is now questioning his place. Afterall, he has an older sister. Shouldn’t she have been given the chance to rule Malak? Should she be given the chance now?

Caspian, arrogant fae prince who needed to be reminded that he’s no better than anyone else. Frankly, in most people’s minds, he’s worse than everyone else.

Ambrose, the vampire prince betrayed by his father. He’s not interested in hearing why his father lied to him for centuries; he’s only interested in killing that bastard slowly.

All four have now openly challenged the resistance, vowing to put an end to them and their reign of terror no matter the cost.

King Judah of Sahira makes his displeasure of this alliance between Qamar and Ashera’s mates known. This can only mean one thing—war has come for the kingdoms of Dunya.

A war that will see kings fall while queens rise.
A war that challenges the very foundation of each kingdom’s morals.
A war that was started by men, but will be ended by women.

Ashera needs to win this war, navigate her new powers, and learn how to manage her growing harem of alphas. But if there’s one thing this succubus queen isn’t afraid of, it’s putting men in their place.

~*~*~ There is FF and MM in this book. This is a FAST BURN reverse harem. ~*~*~

This second book in the series sees more mates being added to Ashera's harem. It has FF and MMF and a whole other combination of scenes. I will say that I thought there was an improvement in the actual writing style from the first book. There still is barely a plot, as the entire page time is taken up by the spice every chapter. I was reading for said spice and it was definitely an entertaining ride!

This is everything I expect from Elizabeth's writing. Her speciality is kick ass women and in book 2 of the Freedom's Harem trilogy Ashera is joined by dragon shifter Winta, a new mate added to the harem (along with the sensual and powerful sabre tooth tiger shifter Thorne).

War Crown is more strategic taking Ashera on the next part of her journey to free Dunya from oppressive leaders. There is a lot more story in book 2 with background and context added for the upcoming war. Alliances are made and broken. New knowledge hints at what is to come in book three.

The fleshed out narrative doesn't come at the cost of passion, steam and a fair amount of dark and taboo content including knife and blood play (if you're not keen on dark RH content then heed the trigger warnings). The steam is very much present and with two extra mates to play with there is a whole load more fun to be had. Winta and Thorne find their place alongside Ashera, Jacobi, Malachi, Ambrose and Caspian. The existing harem are still madly possessive and deeply bonded with their Queen.

This is an exciting, heated paranormal reverse harem.

Wow…this book did not disappoint as a sequel to the first! Spice hits you in the first chapter along with a lot of action throughout in the story. I love the addition of Winta and Thorne into the harem. Picking the pecking order and the hilarious nicknames continues to be a favorite. Thorne is an especially welcome boy of comic relief as is Ambrose’s obvious eggplant envy. The plot thickens and it ends on a total cliffhanger but i highly recommend!!

The next great installment to the freedoms harem series. Still the great amount of spice that I now have come to expect from the series. I feel like a lot of the spice is there to push the book forward and there is a reason to it. The end left me waiting for the next installment and the cliff hanger makes me itching for the next book to know more about Ashera’s background!

I received this book from the author in order for me to give my honest review.

While there was a shift from the books being written by two authors to one author this book I think that the author did a good job of not shifting the style of writing from the past book. As said by the author this book is very smutty. It is a paranormal fantasy reverse harem and it is a big harem with both males and females.

I really enjoyed Ashera and Ambroses relationship building that happened in this book.

Reading it you can really feel her love for every character!! And lord have mercy!! The spice is so dang hot and just *chef's kiss 💋* I really don't think you'll find a spicier PNR book!!!

Good lord that cliffhanger at the end!!! Omfg!!! I need book 3 ASAP!!! This is definitely a great read and you will not regret it!!! If I could I would give this book wayyyyyyyy more than 5 stars in every category!!!!

I very much enjoyed this book! While I easily predicted some of the plot twists, the story still kept me invested! Also, I don’t know how the author does it, but there is still spice in every chapter and somehow it’s not redundant or repetitive and doesn’t take away from the plot! The scenes just make sense where they happen! If you enjoy why choose paranormal/fantasy stories, with a great plot line, big harem and multiple species of supernaturals, with a lot of spice, then this book is definitely for you! This is book two on the series, so start with Blood Crown as it need to be read in order! Enjoy!

*I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review*

This is the second installment in the Freedom's Harem Trilogy and holy crap is it everything I wanted and needed it to be.

This is a reverse harem book filled with diverse characters, LGBTQ+ representation, fantastic world building and Elizabeth's attention to detail is everything.

There's a lot more plot in the second book than there was in book 1, Blood Crown, but not for a single second did I feel a dip in the spice levels we have come to know and appreciate from this series.

War Crown is 🥵🥵🥵🥵. The FF and MM in this book, along with the addition of two new harem members made it beyond difficult to put down.

There are darker themes that take place in this book such as blood & knife play, therefore reader's discretion is advised. However, for me this just further added to the story.

I adore the pre-existing characters in this series, but I can truly say that Winta and Thorne held me hostage in the best way possible.

War Crown had all of the character growth and development I needed from the original harem members, all the while seamlessly introducing a slow burn romance fostering between Thorne and Ashera in the midst of this wild fast burn plot.

It was truly spectacular.

I don't think that I will ever be okay after the cliffhanger at the end, and I need Immortal Crown like I need air.

Phenomenal book, and I'm going to be yelling at everyone to read this for years to come.

Why I thought this one would be any better than book one I’m not sure. I didn’t think it was possible but the fmc found even more mates in this one and again it was pretty much smut. Although there was more plot in this than the first and we finally got some worldbuilding so that was a plus. As I do not care for these characters or this series I will not be picking up the final book in this series.

War Crown, by Elizabeth Brown, is an astonishing sequel in The Freedom's Harem Series! This is book 2 of 3.

Picking up where book 1, Blood Crown, left off, we start off with Ashera and her harem of badasses in Qamar after her two new mates have successfully taken over the country. Still trying to set free all slaves across Dunya, Ashera and her mates must do what needs to be done to see their goals accomplished. Playing the game of politics and also keeping Ashera fed on sexual energy is a priority to all involved.  Brown promised to continue writing spicy romance scenes in every chapter and she absolutely delivered and, I believe, she outdid herself with scenes better than ones in Blood Crown.

I acquired this book as an ARC because I'm part of the amazing Elizabeth Brown's street team and ARC team! I was really looking forward to reading this book and it did not disappoint. It did take me much longer than usual to read this book because I was super sick for 3 weeks and I've started working full-time.

Rating on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being exceptional), this is how I rank the following aspects of "War Crown":
- Quality of writing: 10/10
- Pace: 10/10
- Plot development: 10/10
- Characters: 10/10
- Enjoyability: 10/10
- Ease of Reading: 10/10

In addition, this book was exquisitely spicy and absolutely drool-worthy. Ashera and her harem are amazing. I may have had a soft spot for Ambrose when I first read Blood Crown but I jumped ship and my favorite of Ashera’s harem is definitely Jacobi! Hot and in-charge in the bedroom, Jacobi is marvelous! This book had several outstanding plot twists and an even more spectacular cliff hanger that definitely leaves you wanting more.  I'm absolutely looking forward to the third, and final, chapter of this saga set to release in 2022.

I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy paranormal romance, fantasy romance, reverse harem novels and supernatural erotica. Overall, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This is the second book in the series, please read book one first. The story continues and with a lot of action and the plot continues to intrigue me. There is certainly a lot of spice going on and in the best way. I am loving the world-building and well yes there is everything going on here. If you want heat and burn read this!

I wanted more plot from the second book but it turns out I don't care about the world and characters enough for the plot to be interesting. 😔

This was not it, besties. I don't understand why the second book has so much plot and world-building while the first book is 90% smut. Like what sort of sequel is that? You also don't remember anything from the world and you get thrown into it but I didn't care enough to reread the 10% of the first book.

The smut in this book was funnily enough lacking, you get some scenes, definitely the amount equaling erotica but after the first book, it is so underwhelming. I was expecting more with the two new mates and *sigh* there was just nothing to brag about. The is knife play, blood play and group scenes but nothing that would excite me. Even the FF scenes were somehow not my favourite.

I hated the reincarnation of souls of Winta/Visa and it pissed me off to no end. I also absolutely loathed the plot around Bradford and how they didn't make enough of a deal out of it and how Ambrose wasn't aware of what was happening when they tried to calm him.

Don't plan on reading anymore. Dick Slayer as an endearing nickname is still absolutely abhorrent. Malachi suddenly seems like the main guy out of all of them even if they should be equal and Jacobi is the main reason why I gave this the rating I did cause I love him and how he was in this book.

1.5 stars* ✨

*I would give it 1 but I got what I wanted (more plot) even if it didn't turn out the be the best. And Jacobi is a big part of the rating cause I love him so much.

this book was more boring and less exciting than the previous one. i still stood on my opinion that fmc had too many mates (especially with a possibility of a new one - daimon).

“plot twist” with judar was so predictable. as soon as a twin was mentioned, i knew it was going to be used later.

fmc’s powers didn’t make sense. to feed she had to have sex. but to drain people she had to be hungry. but she also had to have energy to drain.

i was angry on thorne’s behalf. it felt like fmc was indulging ambrose too much and did nothing to get to know her new mate. she wasn’t like that with winta.

the way males interacted with each other was very amusing.
“Unfortunately, he’s always like this. We’re trying to house train him, but he’s also an idiot, so it’s taking time.”

it was funny first couple times but then this narrative became annoying.

“Was I really being unreasonable if the godsdamned cat had a death cock? I shook my head. No. I wasn’t being unreasonable. I was protecting my mate from certain death. Impaling people on pikes wasn’t exactly a pleasant death. My little queen had taught me that needlessly killing people was wrong, so I wasn’t about to unnecessarily send her to her death over some fucking feline.”

i was waiting for some major changes within the group. but they didn’t talk at all. it was very frustrating. smut became annoying too.

TLDR - slightly more character driven but still super quick but constant smut -

So I was super keen for this book after the ending of book 1 because I wanted to see how having an extra female in the group would change the dynamic although this book decided to focus more on the inner turmoils of the characters instead of the group dynamic which was a little bummer.

I will say though I really needed something light after some more intense books and this book had me laughing so quickly. I’d completely forgotten how the groups dynamic was so funny. They had their pet names and insults and the hazing. Honestly just a good knee-slapping good time reminiscing about those things from book 1

The smut in this was less interesting than the first book imo but it was still a very similar formula of no steam all action. I definitely think there was less action in this book though.

I really really hope the next book fulfils what id wished was going to be in this book so I still hold out hope. It’s not a series I’m gonna recommend as top tier but it’s a really good filler because fantasy can be dense and romance breaks my heart a little (even when there’s hea’s) so a book like this with no emotional damage worry at all is a good for that break

Wow, just mindblowing, skin burning, heart racing wowness all over.

Brown does it again! She even introduces two more mates to a ridiculous passionate dynamic and yet it gets better soemhow, she maintains the same heat and steam - seriously, NSFW! - and the MM and FF is combined in a way that shows a total and complete acceptance of all relationships and desires that I struggle to find in any other series.

Making Thorne wait ... that was mean. I genuinely like him, and his erm... appendage. Would like A LOT
more of him in the final book pretty please.

I follow Elizabeth Brown on FB and GoodReads for a reason - she is a badass, take no shit (esp reviews) pioneer with her books, and general attitude to life (or at least what she chooses to share of it lol). I thought this book might be clunkier, or less impressive than Blood Crown as her co-author Torri Heat had to drop out of the series BUT though it seems a little shorter in length the quality chacter development, world creation and difficulties the group face just keeps on at a relentless pace!

I ᴸᴼᴠᴱᴰ ᴬ ᴮᴸᴼᴼᴰʸ ᴮᴬᵀᵀᴸᴱғᴵᴱᴸᴰ.

If you read Blood Crown then War brown is an absolute must read! If you haven’t read either, do it!

PNR is a newer genre for me, and one I’m admittedly not very experienced in but the world building in these books make it exceptionally easy to follow and pick up on all the important details.

Ashera and her mates are so entertaining. Each of her mates are so vastly different from each other- and they don’t always get along! While I wanted to shake a few of them at certain points I loved that it wasn’t all just a walk in the park. It made it feel more… real and believable- despite them being shifters, vampire, fae… you get the idea 😏

Loved this book and the journey it took me on-can not wait for the next book! Pick this book up for the action, but stay for the smut. Because it’s there in spades.

I don't even know where to begin with writing a review for this book. The series has been one of my favorites, and I knew it would be fantastic from book one. Book two continues Ashera and her mates story, and where some books in a series tend to lag in the story, this one continues to keep things interesting.

The author's writing is something I've come to expect to be excellent I'm every aspect, and they didn't fail in this book to deliver that excellence. The characters all had growth from book one to now, and I love how you can clearly see them grow as you read.

I think I preferred this one to book one although I left quite a gap between reading the two so. I think that some bits were a tad cringe here and there but the plot and world building is still really good and I loved the cliffhanger ending. I’m also really intrigued as to where the story will go in book 3 now we know more about Ashera’s background and the character of Daimon. I’d definitely recommend reading it as it has an adequate and intriguing plot line and the character dynamics are fun to watch adapt to each other.
