Cupcakes and Brimstone was my first read by Loni Ree and I really, really enjoyed it! Blaze and Anastasia are adorable! I loved everything about their story and especially enjoyed watching Blaze try and fail to resist his mating call. From the moment he accepted his fate, he pursued his precious mate with a singleminded intensity that was admirable. Their happily ever after was sweet and has me looking forward to the rest of the books in this series. TBR and Enjoy!

The Baker and Dragon
Blaze is a dragon shifter they like being left alone until the dates send Cupid after him. One arrow to the heart and he's chasing a human Ana around her bakery. This was a cute Insta love book. My only problem is the book ends at 88% then filled with snippets from others. If I wanted to know if these other books I would get them.
I don't believe in stuffing if you must just do one book not several.

Oh my goodness!! Loni Ree blew this story out of the water, it’s so good! Smoking hot, sexy, alpha fire-dragon shifter, Blaze, is furious when he first learns he is to be mated.That is until he actually meets Anastasia, the sweet and curvy, and human, cupcake maker. Maybe Cupid and The Fates weren’t so wrong this time. The chemistry between them crackles and grows the more time they spend together.

I'd like to say I gave this series a chance, I read two and I'm not too impressed.
Let's talk plots: I like the idea of an imperial paranormal council, enjoy a story featuring different personalities of women, and I love a series that isn't afraid to tackle multiple shifter types--but I'm not sure this really gave any definition to any of those things. The council is a murk. It hovers there, people mention and attend it, but the flesh of the thing is more of a show. There's no action coming from it that really effects the storyline--so it seems like a poorly integrated series detail that was better either introduced fully later, or not at all.
The women are so meh you can choke on them. Flavorless whippets, truly. Their personalities don't really exist, but I will mention (again)--book one features another redhead, and I'm so UGH over authors having so many redheads in their books at this point. Seriously. Y'all have so many blondes and redheads--you do know that the world dominant is brown/black, right? Let's get more of those goin'. Let's focus on texture, feel, length or some such thing when we describe heroine hair, if you want--instead of the color--that's a good way around it too.
The book doesn't really tackle what is unique to each subspecies of shifter. So if you read a lot of shifter romance--ya' won't like these. She leaves out key details in the second book that are OVER explained in the first book. The poor bear in book two doesn't get any unique characteristics and time to bask in the coolness of bearism, while the dragon in book one gets all of them. I dunno', just doesn't seem fair to our furry friends.
Side note:
There's this 'Cupid' character that's really unappreciated (kinda' like a bootlegged Milly Taiden's Gerri from PDA). Unfortunately he's just a device that's thrown in to explain the world and it's truly a travesty--because he's the unifier that could be the hit, not miss.
Let's talk writing style:
These are mostly show and tell books. Very impersonal and does not pull a reader in. The dialogue and action are so, so stacked, and the timeline is a whirlwind. So. Fast. I also want to mention that she goes BACK to tell the other pov from a previous scene--and that just chaps my chaps guys. I mean, we get it, it may be an intense moment--but I do not need or like dual play by play unless it's done majestically (hullo Ruby Dixon, good ta' see ya').
The time skips really don't seem beneficial to the story, in fact they should probably be nixed altogether, I'm just of the opinion that they're distracting and act as just another thing that pulls you from the story.
So all in all: not a fan. I feel kinda' bad about that too--because the covers are awesome, the titles cute and those color changin' chapter headers are really fun. But these books did not tickle my fancy.

Blaze is a fiery dragon shifter. He absolutely does not want a mate. He enjoys his solitude and likes to be left alone. But when he walks into a cupcake shop and smells something delicious, he knows immediately that his mate is near. Now his on a mission to find Cupid and release him from this mating. Anastasia owns her little cupcake shop and is happy with the way her life is headed. But then when a brooding, an gorgeous dragon shifter walks into her shop, she thinks her life is about to change. After Blaze finds Cupid and realizes that his mating with definitely happen, Blaze is all in. Now he has to find a way to woo his human mate. How will a grouchy, irritable dragon shifter be sweet enough to attract a sweet and loving human? I really enjoyed this book. And I cant wait for the others in this series!!!

I'm totally loving this series by Loni Ree. I mean what's not to love, the story is sweet, the characters are very likeable and it has a guarantee HEA.
Blaze and Anastasia were such and entertaining couple, from Blaze grouchy and loner personality to Anastasia's friendly, innocent and caring self. When Blaze lands his eyes on his mate his dragon instantly wants her. So he fights this attraction but the sweet bakery owner will make it very difficult for him to control his feelings.
So if you like PNR with a cute and fun side but is steamy and guarantees a happy ending then this book and this series is for you.

This was a fun read. Reading the blurb, I was very interested and I'm not sure it delivered 100%. I never really got over Blaze being some what of a jerk through most of the beginning of the story. Anastasia was a sweetheart, almost thinking she deserved someone better than Blaze! LOL. I was thrown by the introduction at the beginning of Cupid and the premise for what appears to be a series surrounding magical beings and shifters. Was it enjoyable? Yes, certainly. And I will continue to read the rest of this series, I think I just had a hard time liking the main hero.

I thought that this was an awesome book. I loved Blaze and Anastasia together. Blaze tried so hard to fight fate but in the end, he couldn't fight his heart and soul. I loved how Anastasia made Blaze work for her attention and wasn't a push over. I really enjoyed the connection and the chemistry between these two. I do hope the Stormy gets her own book! I would recommend this book and Ms. Loni as an awesome author.

Holy heck I loved this story. A new supernatural world with Fae, Shifters, Witches and a whole bunch of other people. Blaze is a moody dragon shifter that loves his solitude.. little does he know that Cupid has other plans for him 😉 He met Anastasia at her bakery and fought tooth and nail to succumb to the fated mate bond 🤣🤣🤣 Oh heck it was funny to see him try😂😂😂 Well fated mates, I think DV🤔🙈, sweet,safe,steamy, romantic and with a great HEA😍😍😍 Can't wait for the next story👍👍👍

Sweet and short but sexy and growly. There isn’t much heat but the story is what sucked me in. It’s a little different than other shifter stories but I’m already falling in love with Celestial Falls. Blaze and Anastasia are the first to fall to Fate and Cupid’s interference in their lives and I loving that combination.

This might be the funniest shifter book ever. The thoughts Blaze has about his dragon, Cupid and everyone else are hilarious. Can’t wait for more.

Cupid went to work at mating Blaze and Anastasia, Blaze met her at her bakery. Blaze fought it for little while, then he decided why fight it if that is what the fates decided. Anastasia felt the pull to be with him at all times, at first she didn’t understand until Blaze said to a guy that they were to leave his mate alone. Great book!

I received this as an arc for my honest review
This was a cute and steamy PNR. It’s not usually something that I read, but I liked it. It had a simple but entertaining storyline, it had great chemistry between Blaze and Anastasia and no drama. All things that I enjoy when reading a shorter story.

Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read. I absolutely love it.
Blaze meets Anastasia when he goes into her bakery, The Cupcake Fairy. Blaze is a dragon and in the process of rebuilding his home. Blaze has a strong urge for something sweet so he heads downtown only to find the bakery he usually goes to with fire trucks all around. As he walks into The Cupcake Fairy Blaze gets a sudden urge that is pulling him to the bakery. When he talks to the woman behind the counter he realizes it's not her, when the door swings open and another woman carries out more cupcakes, Blaze can't help but stare at Anastasia. Blaze's dragon side is claiming Anastasia as his. Blaze needs to leave the bakery before this intense chemistry overtakes him. He hopes the distance away from Anastasia abolish the connection, he needs to find Cupid to put a stop to these feelings. Anastasia's friend, Stormy informs her that the man staring at her was a dragon and then tells her his name. Anastasia finds out from Stormy that Blaze is a high-ranking member of the Eternals’ ruling council. Anastasia gets a crash course in the intimate details of all shifters. Anastasia also finds out that Blaze knows she is his mate. Blaze heads to his mother's for her party she is having, he arrives late and his mother is upset with him. Blaze's mother then introduces him to Anastasia. After Anastasia brings out the cake Blaze leaves shortly after that. Blaze gets his security team to locate cupid he needs to put a stop to this. When they find him Blaze heads to Cupid's home, he walks right into his home. Cupid explains to Blaze that his hands are tied, he is only filling his obligation. After Blaze talks to Cupid he soon realizes that he is eternally matched to Anastasia. After Blaze gets back to his home his friend, Wynne calls he owns The Honey Pot a bar. He informs Blaze his human mate is in his bar and someone is going to make a move on her. When Blaze finds another man looking over Anastasia he pulls him away from her and tells him he'll cremate him if he ever finds him anywhere near her again. Then Anastasia leaves the bar before she does something she doesn't want to do. She decides she needs to take a long hot bath, before she gets I. there's a pounding on her door. Anastasia knows it's Blaze, he tells her she worried him when she left the bar. Anastasia ask him why is he doing this, she doesn't understand what is going on. Blaze tells her she is his mate and he can't fight these feelings so he's going to make her his. She tells him that may work in his work but in hers that not how it works. Anastasia tells him he needs to leave, he tells her he'll see her soon. After he leaves he realizes she didn't lock the door so Blaze opens the door and tells hr to lock it behind him. Blaze needs to figure out how to woo his mate, when he gets to work he asks for some help from his assistant. Then he calls Cupid and asks him for some advise winning Anastasia over. The first thing Blaze decides to do is asks Anastasia out on a date, but he finds out she closes her bakery at noon so he leaves work early. When he asks Anastasia she tells him she can't tonight, it's girls night. Then she tells him she is free tomorrow night, so they make the arrangements. Anastasia gets ready for her dinner with Blaze, then he picks her up they head to The Hounded Heifer. As Blaze drives he tells her about his penthouse needed repairs. Anastasia feels a sense of calm when Blaze is around her, she's never felt this way before. After they are seated Blaze explains the different types of dragons to Anastasia. Blaze tells her that he will do whatever it takes to make her happy. After Blaze takes Anastasia home, he tells her he'll give her time, and wants to prove to her how important she is to him. After two weeks of Blaze going to met Anastasia for a muffin and coffee, he's trying to be patient but also woo his mate. Blaze head to The Cupcake Fairy and when Anastasia come out he tells her he needs to talk to her, he tells her his mom and step-dad are having a dinner party and he would like her to come. She tells him she doesn't have an appropriate outfit to wear, Blaze knows he can't offer to buy it for her. So Blaze tells her it'll be a casual family dinner. After Blaze and Anastasia arrive at his mother's he's about ready to kill his step-brother. He is wearing a tuxedo and staring at Anastasia like she's his dessert. Blaze's mother takes his step-brother into the kitchen and has a talk with him, he comes back in casual clothing. After they leave Blaze's mother he tells her his wilderness retreat is just next door. He asks her if she would like a tour, she tells him she would like that. When they get to Blaze's home, he tells her he wants to show her his true self, and he wants to talk to her about their future. Blaze asks Anastasia if she would like to go on a short flight with him, he tells her she can met his dragon self and then she can see Celestial Falls from the air. Blaze tells her that once they mate they will be able to speak to each other's minds. After Blaze removes his clothes he changes into his dragon self. They both soon realize they can speak to each other through their minds. Blaze take Anastasia around to show her the town, then they head to Pendragon Enterprise to show her his penthouse and see if any progress is being made. Before they leave he asks her if she would rather take a drive but she tells him she'd like another ride on him. When he lands on his Wilderness retreat he tells her he'll put on some clothes and take her home, but she tells him she doesn't want to go home. Anastasia tells Blaze she ready to spend the night with him. He tells her he'll give her anything she wants, and she thanks him for giving her time. They head to the bedroom where Blaze removes her clothing, then he pleasures her and they make love. Blaze tells her he'll love her for all eternity, she tells him she loves him to the moon and back and she wants to be his mate more than anything. This novella was so poorly executed that it took me four days to read and I read two other whole ass books in the interim before finishing it.
The idea was adorable and I was looking forward to the book after seeing it recommended to me in my FB feed multiple times. I was initially hesitant because I'm not a huge fated mates fan since it usually means the couple has to end up together no matter how well suited they are for each other and the author doesn't have to show the reader why they would pick each other. I'm a little more lenient about my preference when reading something novella-length because of writing constraints so I figured it would be okay. Especially since the synopsis and first chapter from Cupid's POV gave me a little hope that this would include some adorable "wooing" as humans don't feel the mate bond as fully.
My hopes were quickly dashed. The fire dragon shifter Blaze and his intended, Anastasia, cupcake shop proprietor, were barely one-dimensional characters. The reader was told about their story instead of showing it in any real detail, like an outline or summary. The world building was vague (the Council, etc) and plot points that could have been developed were ignored (Cupid, a shifter's fear of rejection from a human mates, etc) while others were brought up that detracted and distracted from the main story (the corporate espionage and weird step-brother, Nix, etc).
The author was a huge fan of stating things and not showing receipts. For instance, Anastasia says about Blaze at one point "I only saw all the obstacles standing in our way."
Like what? She never articulated any of them, they didn't overcome anything.
The icing on the cupcake for me was that Anastasia essentially ended up a brood mare for revitalizing the dragon population, giving up her career and aspirations to birth babies (seven in ten years with an eighth on the way according to the epilogue). Ugh. Hard pass from me.

Blaze's life is in turmoil. His penthouse apartment was badly damage and is undergoing repairs forcing him to commute from his isolated cabin. His business seems to have a mole undermining their newest product and they have to figure out who it is and how to fix it. Blaze is also being bombarded by strange feelings and urges that he has never felt before. He wakes up with a strong urge to eat something sweet and goes to a newly opened bakery. One scent is calling to him and he realizes that Cupid has set him up with a human fated mate. Blaze doesn't want a fated mate and does everything he can to keep from getting close to the baker at the store. His dragon keeps pushing for Blaize to claim her. Then his mother pressures him into going to her party and Blaze discovers that Anastasia is there catering. When introductions forces him to touch her, he finally gives up on denying his mate. Now he just has to figure out how to claim her.
Anastacia is thrilled with her new life. Her store, The Cupcake Fairy, is a big success. Then she spots Blaze who confuses her. She is very attracted to him but he seems to run hot and cold. His eyes eat her up but he refuses to come near her. Then he declares that she is his mate and she is at a total loss. The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
This is book is the start of the Celestial Falls series it appears each book seems it will read as a standalone so why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Anastasia was sweet, friendly, a sweet maker (bakery) and not a push over. Blaze sexy as all get out dragon who is fighting fate or should I say trying to fight fate when it comes to Anastasia. The chemistry was instant and intense, the magnetic pull can’t be ignored. Although, Blaze is a grouchy and a loner, but his dragon wants Anastasia from the moment he sniffs her out knowing she is his mate. By the time Blaze gets the memo Anastasia is going to make him work for it for being such a jerk to begin with will he win her over, will she accept all of him and can they have happiness?

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. The first book in the Celestial Falls series is about a dragon who never expected a mate. That does not matter when Cupid is instructed to set the ball rolling. He dares to match a stubborn and grumpy dragon with a sweet and strong baker. I thought that Blaze and Anastasia were great characters. I liked the way that she was a challenge for him. Once he accepted that he had a mate, he pulls no punches to try to win her over. He admits to her that he does not know what he is doing but that he wants to make her happy. I thought that the were perfect for each other. The side characters, Cupid included, added a lot of humor and some groundwork for the series. My only complaint about this story is that it was short. I am looking forward to the next book in the series about a big growly teddy bear.

Blaze is a dragon shifter who does not want a mate, dragons are solitary creatures and Blaze intends to be alone. But the council wants to up the dragon population and enlist Cupid to help him with his mate. He feels the pull when he meets Anastasia, but he fights it hard. She thinks he doesn’t like her and is a rude growly alphahole. When his friend calls to tell him his mate is at his bar for girl’s night and getting hit on he decides he’s done fighting it and goes to claim his woman. I liked how Anastasia didn’t just fold, she made him work for her affection. He wants things to be right between them so much that he even calls Cupid for tips. It was fun reading her first dragon flight with him and then first time together was literally hot. I love yous, she’s pregnant and epilogue ten years later with lots more babies to help the dragon population.

First things first; I really like the cover of this book!
Cupcakes & brimstone is the first book in the ‘’celestial falls’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Blaze is a dragon shifter and successful businessman. He isn’t looking for a mate. When cupid hands him a mate, he isn’t happy but will he be able to resist?
The chemistry between Blaze and Anastasia is clear to see and I liked them together. I loved how possessive Blaze was of his mate.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.

My first dragon shifter romance
I’m enjoying Loni Ree’s foray into paranormal romance. It seems the fates are intent on growing the diminishing dragon population. Blaze is hit by Cupid’s arrow and after fighting a losing battle to remain a mate-free, solitary dragon shifter, he follows the scent of his fated mate to find Anastasia, in her bakery. Blaze proves to be an OTT Hero, the kind I love from Loni Ree. His attempt to slow his dragon roll, to woo Cupcake (Anastasia), is sweet and funny.
I enjoyed getting to know the dragon and his mate, along with Celestial Falls, the town where shifters and humans coexist together. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Really wanted to like this one just based off the summary, but the writing was so-so. I might pick up another book to give it another try to see if the author gets any better, because the world is interesting. I always like universes where paranormal creatures are common knowledge. And cupid being a character who stirs up trouble by matching immortals who DO NOT want to be matched sounds hilarious. The style fell kind of flat for me though. It might be something she gets better at though the more she writes. (Also if I'm being petty: what's the rush in getting pregnant? They're going to be alive for centuries, calm down.)

Outed by a family fight, the paranormals had no choice but to reveal themselves. Unfortunately dragons are being too stubborn and are dying out. Cupid is given orders to do something and Blaze is led to his mate, Anastasia. Once Anastasia accepts Blaze, they set off making sure the dragon race won't die off single handedly. I loved the humor that slipped into this story and look forward to more in this series.

This book is the start of a new series. I love the magical character of Blaze and the word that his dragon roars when they meet Anastasia who owns the bakery, The Cupcake Fairy. Blaze has been shot and hit by cupid and as he fight it the attraction to his mate. She's been burned before but Blaze is going to make their fire together burn brighter. Good dragon shifter story. Don't see many dragon shifters but this author did it well. The H, Blaze fights his mating at first but gets on board with it fairly quickly. The h isn't a pushover and makes him work for her. Virgin h, no deets about H's past but it's mentioned that dragon shifters lead a solitary life. No abuse. Epilogue at 10 years.

I applaud the effort
I'm always in awe of those who can image a story, write and put it out there for others to read. This ones has a lot of editing mistakes in it that are distracting from the story. Its also not super well developed. The characters are just flat and lifeless cliches with no real personalities. This could have been an amazing book, instead it was just a dud of a short story.
