Hi, I'm Nazri, a Filipino-Malaysian author based in California. I’m trilingual, but I really only write in English. I can also speak just enough Sindarin and Valyrian to impress absolutely no one. My urban fantasy novels focus on realistic heroes who use wits, style, and their wildly unpredictable magic to (try) and save the day. Think sass and class, while kicking ass.

My influences come from horror and fantasy: HP Lovecraft, Anne Rice, George R.R. Martin, Chuck Palahniuk, Terry Pratchett, and Neil Gaiman. Growing up I was shaped by the Blood Sword, Fighting Fantasy, Lone Wolf, and Grey Star game book universes. I'm also inspired by video games, specifically the Castlevania, Final Fantasy, and Persona series.

TL;DR: I'm a huge nerd. And yes, that's my real hair. I try to donate it to the American Cancer Society as often as I can. Also, have you heard? You can get a free book at www.NazriNoor.com.

Book 6 in The Sins of the Father series.

Abaddon the Prince of Wrath has abducted Mason's mum - the Demon Prince feeds off anger and that is something Mace has an abundance of.
So how does an angry young Nephilim take down one of the Seven? By staying calm, swallowing his pride and asking some friends and foes for help.
This is a fantastic series. In this book we catch up with lots of characters from the other series, (I nearly cheered out loud when there was a hint of a favourite at the end of chapter 23).
As always there's plenty of action and sass.
I love it!

Talk about pulling all the favors. Still don't know the why of it all. With so many prince of hell. I'd thought there would be more books. But then rhat would just be going through the paces. So it's not an end, just a comfortable point to reingerize.

Mason Albrecht still has anger issues and they finally come to a head attracting another member of the Seven when the Prince of Wrath reveals his hand by striking directly at where it will hurt the most - Abaddon possesses Josephine Albrecht's body then disappears taking her with him. Mason plunges into despair and as he and his allies rush to try and find Abaddon and a way to stop him they start to puzzle on how to destroy the demon hiding inside his mother's body whilst rescuing her. It seems that Mason is going to have to swallow his pride, bare his soul and beg old friends and enemies alike (even one of the Seven) for help if he is going to get his mother back.

OMG - I loved this story which summarised quite succinctly exactly what one of Mason's faults was as well as one of his weaknesses. As for some of the people he was asking for help, one of them was such a wonderful surprise that I squealed in excitement. I enjoyed the way as part of this story we also learnt more about some of the other characters who are part of his social circle which is always a great thing to have. It was great to read more about Mason and now my mind is swirling with all the great things he could achieve if he could just learn a little more self-discipline. Well written, easy to read and understand. My only outstanding thought is how I could persuade the author to write faster without losing the excellent quality of both the stories and his writing.

I find myself sitting here quietly stunned.

So this was absolutely an excellent ending to this series. They were actually moments that almost brought me to tears. Perhaps, struggling with the differences in stylistic approach between this series and his other work, it may have taken Nazri longer to find Mason’s voice, but now, without a doubt, he most certainly has.

Every author has their own way with words, something that goes beyond style or grammar or even word choice. In Nazri’s case, I love the way he gives us insight into the characters emotions, not by telling us what they’re feeling, but by letting us eavesdrop on their thoughts. The result is the revelation of very uncomfortable, unrecognized, truths, that the characters believe about themselves
but would never consciously acknowledge. Since the majority of people most likely feel exactly the same way Noor is making some very pointed observations on the human condition without ever sounding preachy.

But all weighty matters aside, this is just a fun and engaging series. No, EACH of these series in the larger meta-sequence are fun and engaging. And the entire project as a whole, is just a good time, waiting to be had. So jump on in the deep end, and join us.

Kingdom Come by Nazri Noor is Mason’s story, Sins of the Father Book 6. Most of your favorites make at least a brief appearance in this story (Priscilla is one of my favorites).
Yes, Mason is up to his eyeballs in demons again, but that is not new. And not only does he need help, but he is going to have work on his temper. Boy, I had forgotten just how emotional it was when my friends and I were Mason’s age (a bit stereotypical, but males tended to punch and females would cry or plot, at least in my groups).
So, we follow Mason as he learns life lessons, and receives guidance, sometimes from unexpected sources.
Be warned if you are on diet. I always end up with Asian/Pacific food cravings after reading one of Nazri’s books. And of course we visit Mama Rosa!
So many funny comments! But I don’t want to spoil it for you.
I just loved the ending and I am very excited at all of the possible story arcs that are just waiting to be written. I am really looking forward to the next story.

Kingdom Come picks up where the previous book left off - as is common for this author. Mason, having been recently reunited with his mother, now stands powerless as she's torn from him by the Demon Prince of Wrath. But how does one defeat a foe that feeds of one's own anger?

This. This is what I've been waiting for. (Well, almost - one character cameo would have made this perfect, but if I'm honest, it's such a minor character that I'm probably the only one who would notice. Still my favourite, though).

I feel like this is where Mason really grows up and comes into his own as a character. The character development is amazing. The pacing is excellent. Appearances from many familiar faces make this feel...complete in a way the series hadn't so far. (All of which was absolutely necessary and has made the payoff work so well!)

This may be my favourite of all the novels from this universe to date... I just love it.

I received an ARC via the author.

Mason is in a pickle...well what's different with that? The Demon of Wrath burrows his way into paradise, just as he as his friends are gathered to see Lina's first flight. Taking over his mother's body, he disappears. Mason must chase him to points unknown. Desperate, he stops along the way to various friends to ask for help. Dustin included. It was so nice to see Dustin for a change. He is still my all time favorite of these series. There are so many twists and turns to this story and the ending is superb. A battle to save his mom and paradise and loser takes all. Danger is ever present in this fabulous story and we get to latch onto the ideas of many, many new spinoffs in this book. A great book and I can't wait to see what comes next for Mason and his friends. I voluntarily read and edited this ARC book.

Another day another demon.

Mace is at it again and he brought his friends...and foes.

This 6th book has Mason and company facing off against Abaddon. This Prince of Wrath has his finger on one of Mace's weak spots - his anger. Can he control it in time to rescue his mother and others from this subtle member of the Seven?

Like the other books in this series, Author Noor has written a fun and twisty story. Gods, demigods, angles, demons, liches and more aren't just stock characters, they're fleshed out individuals with their own character and temperaments.

It's a fast-paced read and very enjoyable.

I read an ARC of this book and have chosen to review it.

This book show cased the most character growth for our little nephilim. It took him quite a while to grasp the concept of managing his temper though. Tried my own temper, if I’m honest LOL. It was so much fun seeing characters from Darkling Mage pop up. Honestly the solutions to the problems presented in this installment were incredibly creative and one of them sort of blew my mind. All in all I’m happy to be done with Mason’s story. The story itself and the writing was exquisite (as you expect from this author) but I just never connected with Mason and it made reading drag a little sometimes.

Amazing

Nazri promises and delivers. This installment has everything and brings it all full circle. You get action, adventure and appearances from several old favorites, especially the irrepressible little demi god we all know and love so much. I highly recommend the entire series to anyone who loves stories that pulls you into their world and takes you on a magical journey.

Loved his story arc and enjoyed how it was all wrapped up. There is plenty to hinge a new adventure on, but Mason and his buddies are in a pretty good place. LOVE the surprise guests. Was not expecting that.
