Salvatore
She has always been so perfect. She beautiful and fragile and something I don’t deserve. Yet, she has been given to me. And now she is looking at me with hope in her eyes. She is an Angel hoping for love from a Devil, but the only thing my touch could give her is pain.
And there is nothing I want more than to touch her.

I'M OFFICIALLY TEAM MAZZONI 😍

Thank you for the ARC given to me, so here's my honest review.

It's great that we have a trigger warning at the beginning of the book. This 2nd book of Poisonous series contents of BDSM scenes. So you shouldn't be complaining about some degrading fetish and consensual non-consent. You have been warned.

Being promised to the guy you've been crushed with for years is a gift. But when the guy only see you as a kid, it's a disaster. Mia start from the brokenheart because Sal leave her right after their engagement, become challenge him in every chances she get, to become the only person who understand the real Sal is amazing process. I didn't expect Mia would be this mature, seeing her in the 1st book looks easy going like didn't care with her surrounding, a bit childish to me. Well, she was a child in that book 😁 And now she's the stunning intelligence queen who deserve respect from all Outfit.

And Sal, seeing his character development is interesting! The modern Capo who dare to change unreasonable traditions among mafia world, a brother who try so hard to take care of his siblings, a good friend for Antonio and Alessio, and a husband who respect his young wife passionately. But I don't like his "Crazy Eyes" name, it just weird to me, ngl ✌️

Also, I love the way SalMia being a great parents for the twins 😍😍 Can't wait to read their books!

Here's my favorite quote from SalMia:

"She was the Angel. I was the Devil. It was fucking chaos."

"I was in heaven. And I was in hell. I didn’t care where I was as long as I had her. She was my redemption and my corruption."

"Maybe every Vasile needed a Mazzoni in their lives to save them from the darkness."

I love all Bellassio crumbs in this book 🥰
"I went to church a lot in my life but have never seen a man look at something with so much adoration." -Alessio in Sal's eyes-

Although there's a lot of typos, it's still 3.5⭐ from me. Hope the editor will improve their work on the next book 😁

Keep writing Sem ☺️ I love your work 👍

I finally found the time to write this review.
So let's dive in shall we?

After the beautiful story about Bella and Alessio, their siblings got their book.

Angel's Trumpet revolves around Salvatore Vasile (Bella's brother) and Mia (Alessio's sister).
Arranged marriage trope (one of my faves🥵)
Mia had a crush on him what seems like forever, but Sal was somehow distant and cold.

So, I don't want to spoil to much, but damn Sal is kinky (no wonder they call him "Crazy Eyes" and Mia matches his kinky perfectly)😏😏

"I wanted all. I wanted her pleasure, but I also wanted her pain." (I see you Sal😏🤤)

Sal's development was nicely done and behind all that Mafia boss exterior, he is sweet to both Mia as well as his siblings.😍

Mia? A sassy, not giving-up heroine🍀

We see a teenage crush blossoming to love filled with passion and I'm deff looking forward to the rest of the series.

Of course I was provided with an ARC so the little grammar errors are understandable.

P.S. Antonio is offically a book boyfriend (even though his book isn't out yet) and I want him to kidnapp me🤭😅🤤

Loved this one!!
Alessio and Bella will always have my heart but This one was a great read too.
I'm glad Sal didn't wait too long into their marriage to voice his thoughts.
He put himself out there not knowing wheather she would judge him or not, and I really admire him for his fortitude.
And Mia is a whole badass!, Love her.

Angel's Trumpet by Sem Thornwood ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Angel's Trumpet is the second book of the Poisonous Series and tells Sal and Mia's story. Salvatore and Mia were betrothed when Mia was 13yo and Sal, 18. Their story begins in the first book, so I really recommend you to read Deadly Nightshade before reading this one so you can get a hold on their personalities.

Sal is the heir of Chicago's Outfit and had known Mia since she was a baby, so when he sees himself engaged to a 13yo he saw growing up, he rans away because he thinks the situation in which he's in is very weird. Mia, not knowing about his feelings, is crushed by his departure and vows to never be hurt again.

Angel's Trumpet narrative is faster than the speed of light when compared to Deadly Nightshade. So their young phase goes very fast, and we're soon watching them marry, but this is only the beginning of their journey, since they, whereas being acquainted to each other, don't really KNOW each other.

Their quest to understand how they feel towards the other is very interesting to see and I saw myself rooting for them thoughout the book. Sem Thornwood has really improved her writing since Deadly Nightshade and the gargantuan cliffhanger she left in the end made me anxious to read the next book.

3.5 ⭐'s / 5! I've never been one for the arranged marriage trope, but I think Sal and Mia's relationship ended up working fairly well in the end. At first the age gap had me feeling iffy, but as the story progressed and the characters developed more, I got a little more comfortable with the dynamic. I think at times the plot could be difficult to follow, but the pacing was really good and kept me engaged. My biggest "issue" was the grammatical errors- at times, they could take away from a serious or heartfelt moment, but they didn't happen enough where I felt the story was unreadable. The character development of Sal specifically was really nice, and I really loved seeing the relationship between him and Mia develop. Overall, I had a really good time with this read!!

I loved Salvatore and Mia, they were perfect together and they completed and understood each other perfectly.

It was very interesting to see the journey of Salvatore's feelings for her, and I understood why he hold back and resisted so much, he wanted to keep his darkness from her not realizing that he could be his true complete self with her and she will love him all the same.

It was a beautiful story and Mia was so strong and patient, and when they finally got together 🥵🥵🔥 , Salvatore was just so sexy and I loved the sweet side that he only showed for her. I really enjoyed and loved this book.

I have one word : Salvatore.
If you need any reason to read that book it should be him. Honestly, I'm always into bad boys in book. They don't need to be the big bad villain (I love those anyway) but simply not to be sweet little perfect boys. Salvatore delivered just what I wanted. He's a sexy mafia capo with a dark and ruff side that perfectly reflect in bed. What do you need more?
In addition to Salvatore, I could really relate to Mia ! She's such a sweet but strong character with her own dark side. They both fit together perfectly.
The pacing in Angel's trumpet was much faster than in Deadly Nightshade and I'm not complaining about that! It felt the perfect rhythm for the story and the character development of both Sal and Mia. the way their love develop is just perfect and I loved every second of it!
In addition to the smut that was perfectly to my liking, there was a lot of actions in this book that made it perfect.
For those of you who waited to read it because of the review about DN saying there was a lot of grammatical error, well Sem really improve her writing in this book! There's still a few mistake here and there, but nothing majore that could prevent you to enjoy the story.
Talking about DN! The book was replaced on Amazon for a new corrected version! If you didn't read it yet, now's your chance!
Finally, the only reason this book didn't made 5 stars is simply because it take me a lot to rate a book 5 stars! Angel's trumpet was definitely one of my fav reads of 2021!

I’ll admit I am a sucker for mafia romance… but I wasn’t prepared for just how much I would enjoy this follow up book in the series. I fell completely in love with Sal. There is so much more to the moody, grey, “crazy eye’s” Salvatore that we were introduced to in Devil’s Nightshade. His initial hesitation to the arrangement with Mia creates so much tension between the two, and when he finally snaps and gives in to his feelings the result is explosive.

First of all, congrats to the author for this wonderful release and thank you for considering me for this review. I received an ARC for the purpose of reviewing and now I’m anticipating the rest of the series!

this was an arranged marriage, mafia romance and I totally fell in love with the couple! the only thing that I kind of messed up on was that I didn’t realize that this was the second book in a series, and I wish I realized that before reading this one cause I think I spoiled it for myself lol. but I’m totally going to go back and read the first book ASAP! I also can’t wait for the rest of the series.

I loved that it was a slow burn, but also wished it wasn’t super slow because I wanted to see that angst and love between Sal and Mia, but I guess that was a huge part of their love story. I loved the steamy scenes, especially since some were just of Mia on her own (yes!! a lot of books don’t discuss this, and I love that the author did include scenes like this).

Definitely a great mafia read! I also really enjoyed some of the tropes and things that happened in the steamy scenes (oof — I can’t say without spoiling, but whoa Mia is so open to doing things and Sal doesn’t hold back either. hehe!!! 😉)

Since this was an ARC, there were a lot of typos, but I’m under the assumption that the author will be editing and proofing before publication (not sure!). I think that will also help with the flow and make it much more easier to read, and that will likely bring up my rating as well.

ARC REWIEW:

5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I got the change to get the arc on July 8 and I have to say I read the entire book in only a few hours cause I simply couldn’t put the book down.

This is the second book on the Poisonous series. Just a few weeks before I had read Bella’s and Alessio’s story in just a day as well and I totally fell in love with the series and I got really excited when I realized Mia and Salvatore would have a book cause they both seemed really complex interesting characters. And their book proved exactly just that.

If you think you got your image of Mia from the previous book you are completely wrong. She proves to be different from I was thinking. Behind what she shows to people, she is like the most strong person ever and a fighter. In the book you will be able to see her relationship with Sal evolve after their get married. After she turns 18 she was promised to Sal and they got married like was arranged between the families. At first you will have a hard time trying to understand why Salvatore acts the way he does as well. Even when you see his POV you try to understand why he is like this. But after you get to know him more you will completely fall in love with him and you will have that “I want to protect him” instinct.

This book gave me all the types of emotions as well. I cried, I laughed and I smiled so much. Mia and Sal are literally the cutest ever and also so freaking passionate. Their chemistry is insane as well and that made the book even better. Literally one of the best reads I had this year.

The moments of Salvatore being the productive brother was also everything to me. He just loves his siblings so much and would do everything to protect them and I love that about him. He is so protective of people he loves and you can see how protective he is and also his jealous side with Mia as well.

Also we get BellaAlessio crumbs and LITERALLY the best freaking cute crumbs ever. I was in a awe over them all over again. It’s so good to see how they evolved since the last book. It’s everything to me.

So if you are in the mood for a passionate book with a little bit of angst I totally advice you this book. If you think you know Sal and Mia there’s more to them that you can see and you will find out all about them on their book. I loved so so so much and it’s a five star read for me. One of the best reads I had this year.

5 STARS FOR SURE.

“I was in heaven.
And I was in hell.
I didn’t care where I was as long as I had her, though.
She was my redemption and my corruption.
She was my heart and my soul and my everything.”

4.5 stars

Angel’s Trumpet is book two in the Poisonous series and it follows Bella’s brother Salvatore and Alessio’s little sister Mia. Let me tell you, this book was *chef’s kiss*. It was predominantly more fast paced than the last book but it was perfect for this book.

First, I want to thank the author for writing a really good age-gap mafia romance who’s characters are willing to change or end such archaic traditions within their mob. The author also made it a point, in the first book, that despite Sal and Mia being in an arranged marriage, Sal didn’t want that. Not because he didn’t like her, but because she was underaged and he felt immensely wrong about that. I loved how Sal wanted Mia to grow up first and experience things, just as he wanted to figure who he was as he got older.

I absolutely admire and love Mia so much. She’s intelligent, strong, down to earth and nurturing. She’s deemed “perfect” and a “princess.” No. She has a side to her that only Sal is able to see and she’s no princess but a Queen. A Donna. She’s all light that Sal becomes drawn to. As for Sal, I definitely wanted to smack his head a few times but I loved his growth. He has a darkness that only Mia can calm and sate. Their chemistry was fervent and consuming, and their character development was well written.

I can not wait for book three.

I was looking forward for MiaSal story since the moment I finished Deadly Nightshade(Alessiobella) and they didn't disappoint me because I will always love Vasile siblings more than any other.

Angel's Trumpet is the journey of MiaSal not only as a couple but also Individuals and family. I loved how Mia had grownup through out the years and how she stood up for herself without letting anyway mostly Sal walk over her. Salvatore my grumpy, misunderstood man (*sighs with mixed emotions*)I kinda of expected I would dislike some of his actions while reading alessiobella but man I loved him so much in return.

MiaSal reminded me already well known lesson that "Communication plays key role in every relation" The way they both had built their trust, communicated, loved and accepted each other is so beautiful. Sal bonding with his siblings made me so happy and I am eager to know about Valerio, Verona after that incident. My babies AlessioBella crumbs are so beautiful. Glad that Vasile siblings are getting their HEA which they deserved

I am excited for my Ice King Antonio story and GabrielKiara's book
