In Wild River, Alaska, the sweetest Christmas gift may be a second chance…
Jade Frazier is thrilled to see her sister happily in love this holiday season, though she wishes Santa had something special lined up for her, too. For now, Jade will focus on the final assignment for her interior design course—decorating a local business for the holidays. Too bad every store is already decked out…except for the new tattoo shop. Rumors are flying about the owner, Griffin Geller. But instead of the hardened ex-con Jade expected, she finds a sexy, hardworking man trying to get his life back on track.
All Griffin wants for Christmas is to reconcile with his family and gain the community’s acceptance. Then smart, sweet Jade walks into his store, bringing warmth and hope with her. Griffin might deserve a shot at redemption, but love? That seems too much to ask. Yet as the holidays get closer, Griffin can’t help wishing he could celebrate the season with Jade—the one person who would make Wild River truly feel like home…

This is a short, but sweet romance from the Wild River series. Griffin Geller has bee released from prison and moved back home. He has opened a tattoo shop and plans to work his way back into the town's and his family's good graces. When Jade walks into his shop offering to decorate his window for Christmas at no charge, he reluctantly agrees. Jade is finishing up her interior design project and this will be her final project. They get to know each other over the next few days and she convinces him to go talk to his family. Things don't go as planned, but Jade begins to care about Griffin. There is a bit of angst, but they get together and Griffin gets the acceptance he is looking for. Both Jade and Griffin have their vulnerabilities and are both searching for their way in the world, which endeared them to me. I definitely wish this book had bee longer as I would have liked a bit more substance to the characters. I listened to this story as a bonus story while listening to Alaska Dreams.

💝An Alaskan Christmas Homecoming de Jennifer Snow serie Wild River libro 0.5
Argumento:
Jade Frazier has to get a good grade--preferably an A--on her class project now that she's again changed her major to interior design. But most of the windows in town are already decorated for Christmas and entered into the town's challenge for best Christmas window display.
Happily for her, the new tattoo shop in town has no decorations in the window, but the guy who runs the place isn't all that interested. Jade is going to have to pull out all the stops to convince him that he needs her, even if it's only to up the business coming in his door for the holiday season.
How is Griffin to know that Jade knows her stuff and goes all out, even creating decorations that use many of his tattoo designs?
But, her grade turns out to be an A and his window display wins the town contest. If only his mother will forgive him for breaking her heart when he ended up in prison. If only he hasn't told Jade he can't see her anymore. It's the last thing he wants, nor is she thrilled about it. So, what happens on Christmas eve? Something pretty special...
A short but very satisfying read, and a nice little dose of Christmas cheer during an otherwise dreary January. There was a lot to like about this novelette. In particular I was pretty thrilled to see the main male character, an ex-convict, being treated with dignity. I also really liked the fact that his job was as a tattoo artist which is something I have yet to come across (as a job for a character) in this genre before now. It was something a little different and that was fun to read about for a change.
Both main characters in this book have their vulnerabilities and are both searching for their way, albeit for different reasons. I think that’s part of the reason why they are drawn to each other. It didn’t take me long to read this but it did leave a big impact.
The author did a fantastic job of creating a whole world, and developing well rounded likeable characters, in such a succinct way. Really great book!
While this was a very short story, it still hit me in the heart with the slight angst around a redemption and forgiveness arc for the hero regarding his past choices. And this is the one instance where instalove in contemporary romance absolutely worked for me.
I highly recommend this story if you are looking for a 50ish page read with Christmas vibes, a hero starting life anew, and a lovely heroine with a knack for decorating.
Jade was the prissy woman who sat up her sister with her ex. She is trying to make a career in interior design for herself. She goes to the tattoo shop an ex con Griffin owns. He is a good guy that got hit hard by telling the truth. While she us decorating his window they become close. Can they lean on each other and make each other better. A fast quick read
Delightful short story about an excon coming home and a young woman trying to get a Christmas window decorating prophecy done for her classes. Everyone in town has their decor up except the tattoo shop but that is where the ex con is. She has no option in this small town. She looked every where else. This is how Jade and Griffin meet.
ALASKAN CHRISTMAS HOMECOMING by Jennifer Snow. A short, sweet novella included in ALASKA DREAMS. It is the season for second chances in life and in love and pulls your heartstrings in this short but sweet romance.
Not impressed. The curse words were not necessary. Maybe if I had read the series, it may have been ok, but I stay away from books with foul language, so I'm sure I won't be checking out the series.
The characters are very likeable and realistic. The novel is 'very interesting and uplifting. It was good to find that even though Griffin had been in jail, it didn't bother Jade. M G
A cute holiday novella about returning home for a second chance. Discovering that family isn't only in the bloodlines, but in accepting someone faults and all.
