Flashbacks and Echoes

Rate this book
How do you live in a world in which everything is an illusion? How do you move on, when the flashbacks of your past won't stop hunting you?
An emotional story about friendship, love, family drama, heartbreak and growing up. Or something like that.

Kat's life has been picture-perfect since she can remember. Now it's time for her to write her own story, moving across the country to start college with her best friend. New city, new friends and a mysterious dark-haired boy who turns her world upside down.

Kat's more of an introvert, she's never really been in love and rather reads books than goes to parties. She a realist, believing that earth-shattering love exists only in fiction - until she meets Noah. The tall handsome boy, with the darkest eyes and brightest smile she's ever seen. He has demons of his own, but together they can get through it all. Obviously.

For a while, she's been suspecting that something is wrong with her brother Kyle and her parents. After finding out her life wasn't as perfect as she believed, everything changes. Her brother, her parents, even her best friend had been lying to her.

Sometimes forever isn't as long as we'd hoped and when it ends, it comes crashing down, destroying everything in its path. And it hurts like hell.

*This book was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review*

I don't often read books like this, but I feel like I really should. The characters were flawed and relatable, the story was well-written and touching. I was hooked from the first sentence until the last word.

The main character was a really lovely girl, Kat, I loved the way we could see her overthinking things, the way we can read her thoughts on the events that are happening. She wasn't perfect, and that is what made her amazing. I adored her friendship with Ash, even if they had arguements or misunderstandings they were always there for each other and it felt so real. They have been friends for a really long time, and you could see this on the dynamic of their friendship too.

This book shows amazingly how different people can deal with their problems, their struggles. This book makes you fall in love, makes you laugh and cry. Most importantly this is a book that makes you feel. So if you are interested in an emotional book that will keep you hooked from the first sentence you should definitely read it

A heartwarming debut novel...
When I saw the titel " Flashbacks end Echoes", I didn't know what to ecspect. But definitly not a story like this. I love the main character Kat. You can really feel and breath with her, even her thoughts you can read...Her friendship with Ash is the friendship like most of us would like to have in life. Unconditionaly love ecsperiance, good and loving family....but, when the idylic bubble bursts, the story gets a shocking twist. All the beautifull moments and all the strugels...you can almost feel with the charackters.
The writing is funny, charming, sexy and heartfelt....all that ingredients make this a delighfull book.
I'm really glad I read this overwhelming story and I can't wait for it to be continued...
If you want to read an emotional book, that will take you all in from the first page, you should read it.

I read the book as a beta reader.
Even in the first phase, it was beautiful.
The prologue was so touching, it broke my heart even before I started to read the actual story. I love the characters. I love Kat's development from the popular girl's best friend to the main character in her life.
And Noah.
He is perfect. I wish I had one like him in real life.
It's something like friends to lovers, but with plot twists.

It reads like something from Colleen Hoover, which I saw she reads too. So there is no doubt I loved this work.
The ending broke me, though. And the epilogue was shocking.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SECOND BOOK!!

This book was suggested to me by a friend. At first I was a bit sceptical, but as soon as I started reading I found out what the hype was all about.

This was probably the first book that I read in one sitting. Its written extremely well and simplistic at the same time, which makes reading easy and fun. The book is pretty addictive, maily because you can identify with the main character, Kat. Throught the story she shares her inner monolouges and thoughts, which are actually the type of thoughts you would expect from a simple student girl. I love the fact that the characters actually behave their age appropriate. This makes the story super relatable. For the most of the book I actually had a feeling Im reading a book about my friend group. I could write for days, but I will stop, because I dont want to spoil everything.

Basicaly the author really nailed the story with this one. It practicaly reads itself. I would recommend it to everyone, without a question. Trust me on this one, you wont be dissapointed.
The only bad thing is that the second book isnt already out. Its killing me that I dont know how the story continues.

PS. I wont be surprised, if someday we see a movie based on this book.

This book is the sort you read after coming out of a reading slump; it's short and light and I read it in between work breaks. At times, the spelling and grammar is a bit off but is nothing that majorly detracts from the story.

I read this book as a beta reviewer and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Not my usual read it’s a love story girl meets boy the usual… but the story kept me entertained, I read it in 2 days so I was clearly hooked with what happened. I think the next part of the story - flames & Earthquakes will have a bit more drama hopefully. If you like a soppy love story it’s a good read.

I absolutely loved this story!
It's a must-read for everyone who likes romance books and dramas.

I fell in love with the main character - she is so strong and smart. She would give anything for the people she loves but gets stabbed in the back by those closest to her. It broke my heart. You could see how she thinks, which is very interesting - it's funny how she knows when something is cringy or awkward and she comments something the reader would think. Super refreshing!

SPOILER following up

I loved how you would think that it will be a good girl - bad boy romance, because of his attitude and looks, but it turns out that he is a sweetheart and she was actually just jumping to conclusions. Their relationship starts as a friendship, which was super beautiful and pure. He knows how they are attracted to each other, but because of his family issues, he has to push her away. As a reader, you see how she tried not to like him, but her heart said otherwise. It a very cute writing style.

I loved the ending, even though it was heartbreaking.
When I saw that it will be a series, I already assumed it won't end well. With all the secret unfolding at the very end, there had to be a sad conclusion to the first book.
AND THEN THE TIME JUMP
I freaked out when I read the epilogue.
I won't spoil it here, because it was too shocking to give it just away, but it had me in tears.
I can't wait for the next book to come out!

The very first published book of my best friend! I am super proud of you and still fascinated by this milestone 🙌🏻

Recommending it especially to the youth of this generation since the storyline is so relatable. A story of finding love in this fucked up 21st century where relationships are mostly superficial and hedonistic.. well until you meet the one and your world turns upside down.

Lots of love,
your best friend.
