Wright for Her is a re-release with the same great characters that we have met before… This time, Erika B. just put a little umph in it! Eryn Banks is a mother, chef, and a woman who is all about her family. For five years, she has been dedicated to building a life as a single mother who happens to be a career woman. Everyone is in her ear, telling her it is time to find love… What a perfect time for an old friend to enter the picture. Zale Wright is a father, personal trainer, and a man who loves the ladies. Things are going well until a reunion dinner that brings about old flames. Buried feelings vastly rise to the surface before Zale can grasp what is happening around him. Once Eryn decides that it is okay to move on and find love again, what happens when all of that is threatened by a force neither she nor Zale saw coming?
Zale Wright was not one I would have been enamored with in his adult lifestyle. The younger Wright was the better man, yet Eryn saw something more profound than the average person could see. Eryn saw his heart, even when he did not know it was visible. The story had a secret message; I hope dogs and f boys see it clearly. Don't hurt the one who holds you down and keeps your heart healthy. This book is an excellent choice for your next read.
I know that an author's job is to evoke strong emotions from the reader. Well ma'am, both of these characters just gave me a stress headache! Eryn was way to smart, to be dealing with the man child Zale! Like what the hell girl? Giving him all that access to you, while he was still doing him! When is enough, enough? Zale! You have a woman who you claim is perfect for you, but you can't get your ish together! SMDH!! 😠 Okay, what was up with Clive? What was he running from? What is his deal? He has some real issues! What happened at the house after the shot? Would have liked to know more about him and that situation. It seemed that it took something traumatic for Zale to behave like he has good sense. But will continue to do so? Hope there is a follow up to this, so that we can find out if anyone gets it right! 👍👍
This story really has me hot! I wanted to put it down as soon as I realized why they split but I kept reading to give Zale the benefit of the doubt but no ma'am! He was literal trash the entire read! Like seriously, even when he kept talking about how he was going to be better he literally turned around and ended up in new 😾. Even with their pending transaction!! By the end I had to finish it because I was expecting there to be a big redemption moment involving him and his reason for being a dog but nope, never came. He cries a few tears on the last page and she takes him back, wtf. I'm so angry for the way she was treated and how little she accepted from him that I'm not even going to go into all the missing plots; Clives court case, Liam not wearing a seat belt, the missing money at his gym, Justin and Zena relationship fail. Ugh, this was not the book for me!
I enjoyed this story. I loved the coparent relationship Zale and Eryn had. Zale had me worried for a minute cause it seemed like he was never going to get it together. Clive was weird. I'm glad things turned out the way they did.
Now I love second chance romances like many other people. However I wish authors would stop writing romances where they make the women out to be some weak being that can’t do anything outside of the man that she used to be with. I don’t appreciate that authors can’t explore the sexual liberation of women. All of these stories go the same, the man is a w*ore and for some reason the woman is single for years and she just can’t find it in her heart to move on (even if the man was moving on during their relationship). I think I would’ve enjoyed this more if there was more a push towards the relationship.
I felt like Eryn gave in so easily and part of the reason is because the author ended up making her pregnant, another thing I didn’t appreciate, because it truly felt like they just had a baby instead of figuring out their issues. To add on I hated that the one time she made an effort to date someone it ended up horribly. She never truly got to explore her options and because of this, she has now become attached to the one thing that she’s ever known, Zale. I just wish that she was allowed to live a little. Allowed to not be boxed in because of a man who didn’t care enough about her to keep it on his pants.
I didn’t care for Zale. I don’t think that he did enough work towards their relationship. He claims to have changed but how do we know if that’s true when there hasn’t been anything done to prove it. I just wish that we got a book with a man who genuinely loves and cares about the woman that he wants to be with and for the love of God I wish that we got female characters that love themselves more than a man.
I have quickly become an Erika B. fan. She does a great job of creating characters and stories that are not the typical trope that usually surrounds urban romance. To that end I must say that I absolutely cannot stand Zale...ugghhhh! He take Fboy to a whole other level. He was selfish, smug, manipulative, nasty and in need of therapy. Eryn made life entirely too easy for him while placing his arrogant behind on a pedestal that he was not deserving of. The ending gave no indication that he valued her or had learned any lesson--Eryn didn't even make him "pretend" to put in work to get her back. The only voices of reason were the extended family members (GG and Zale's father respectively). I was expecting a part II because I need more info on Crazy Clive and Eryn needs to learn to love herself!
Zale…aargh! Selfish jerk! That’s all I’m going to say about him!
Zale and Erny are childhood sweethearts but their relationship 5 years ago because Zale was very generous and shared his Schlong with other women. But they are successfully co-parenting their 8 year old twins.
I really liked Erny. But like a lot of women, she didn’t know how to let a toxic man go and move on. She really loved him. I wanted to grab her a time or two and yell “Girl I been there but snap outta of it.” lol
Wright for Her, is a very good read and I highly recommend it. So grab your copy and enjoy.
So I'm an Erika B. fan, and I enjoyed this book, but I have to say...I hated Zale!😩 I gave him grace in the beginning, but he just kept fcking up!🤬😤 And I LOVED Eryn. Sis had it going on! She was just in love with a time-delayed fxkboy who just wouldn't move past his selfish desires. I was hoping maybe he would get sent to counseling or something. I am a hopeful romantic that is believing that the final situation truly woke his dense ass up! I enjoy suspense so the Clive story was intriguing, I wanted to know more about the case he was running from. Overall, I enjoyed this book even if I was put off by Zale. Eryn was the bomb and she definitely made up for it!
Okay we follow Zale and Eryn and their situationship, I gave both Zale and Eryn the side eyes. Zale because you say you love this woman and understand that she was your soul but you treat her like scum and get mad when she and others tell her she should move on. Eryn because she should have been better with the red flags for Clive. But also after 5 years of not giving into Zale you have a lapse of judgment, she should have left it there and never went back and forth with Zale since he wasn’t showing her consistency! This was a great book with some twist and turns but it shows how love can make you accept things that you shouldn’t!
What can I say? This story stirred up so many emotions. The main one is anger. The relationship between Zale And Eryn is something many of us have witnessed or experienced. Zale and Eryn are both frustrating characters from beginning to end. Erica wrote the hell out of this story. This book is definitely one that will bring up interesting discussions. I don’t want to say much about this story, I really encourage you as a reader to one click and check this out. It is a worthwhile read.
I haven’t read a book in a while where both main characters were weak. But it was very refreshing because this was real life and and I know I’ve been weak a time or two lol.
Zale didn’t deserve Eryn at all, he was weak and selfish and didn’t want to put in the work to make sure the “love of his life” was treated with respect.
I did feel like I was missing information on Clive. Like what really happened with the case and made him run back home. What happened in the house with the cops.
Anytime an author is able to evoke a strong emotion from you, you know the author is worth their weight in gold. I HATED Zale, to the very last page I hated Zale. I still hate Zale. He deserves none of what he has. Not the loyalty of his children, his sister, friends or parents. He deserves the outcome crazy Clive was planning on bestowing on him. This is NOT a love story, or romance novel. It’s the story of an abusive, narcissistic, man-child and the woman who consciously decided to be his doormat.
I'm really disappointed at the way this story ended. This woman was weak and stupid for this man. He supposedly loved her but constantly disrespected her and never fully committed or married her. She might as well had been in an open relationship with him...smh. Then she was ok having his babies and them being "single" but her performing wifely duties to him. Both of their families knew she was stupid.....but I guess she was a prime example of having a piece of man was better than no man. Hell she never even slept with or truly tried to date another man. I was not impressed and don't feel sorry for any woman with this type of perspective. At this point I'm side eyeing the author.
I don’t know where to start this book had me like omg Zale couldn’t get it for nothing!! And poor eryn I love her and she was a rider she was loving him when he was a nobody and was still loving him after!! His sister and family was so right!! Lawd that Clive my mouth was open the whole time and Deanna I wanted to square up with her!! That Clive was something else I knew something wasn’t right upstairs!! The book was amazing read it you will not be disappointed
I started reading this story and it got so good, it scared me. I thought Eryn should have left Zale alone. He changed and got in shape, but went crazy with slanging his stick. Zale was selfish. Eryn was crazy for putting up with his B.S. One lil reunion and the crazies came out. I felt like Clive wassup to no good. Deanna would've never got that close to hug or rub my stomach. Can you say K.O. for that Heffa!!
Zale was a pig who didn't know how to treat Erynn or to keep his private part to himself. It made no sense how Erynn allowed him to walk all over her and accept it because she thought he loved her. Erynn was a weak-minded woman who needed serious therapy even before the Clive situation. I don't know how she couldn't see that Zale was a pig and would always be a pig. I read other books by the author, and by far, this is the worst. 1.5/5🌟
Zale loved his family and Eryn was who he wanted as his forever but being a fat kid morphing into a fine man had him acting like a male dog! Creating life had them in a state of uncertainty and having Clive, an old college friend show up was ok until it wasn't! In the end it was discovered Clive was mentally unstable and right now no final plans for Eryn and Zale. This was an ok read but lacked finality!
I wish Eryn had some better choices than Zale who basically took advantage of her for years and isn’t done sowing his wild oats and Clive who is cray cray😂 But it’s so realistic because who doesn’t have a million sister friends in the same boat. I love the way the story flowed!
The book was very well written and and I enjoyed reading every page. I was glad Zale got his mess together even though it took Beauty being in a life or death situation for him to do because that crazy Clove was not it. I look forward to reading more of you books!
Enjoyed Zale and Eryn’s story and glad that they found their forward although I wished it hadn’t required a life/death for Zale to give up his f$&boyness LOL. The Clive storyline felt like it was missing something but it was an interesting twist. Good story!
I truly disliked the main characters and the children were way too grown. Eryn was spineless and weak, and had very little common sense and Zane was arrogant, disrespectful and unlikeable. I didn’t respect either of them. I couldn’t enjoy the romance between characters like that.
This book should be read by women who continue to hold on to guys who disrespect them but keep having babies thinking they will change. I always think a book is good when I get upset with the characters 😂. Young girls going off to college and catering to guys should read this.
I can't believe how it ended. I knew Clive was trouble, Zale was childish if them women did want you before you lost weight and all of a sudden they want and you had a rider that didn't care about your size, you should have tried to make it work with her, but that sowing your oats almost made you lose your family, good book though
I loved the push and pull between eryn and Zale. I loved how Zales family told him he was wrong. The story flowed well with no errors. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
I really DO NOT like Zale! I’m hoping Eryn gets a part 2 and finds someone who treats her right. The nostalgia and trauma bonds keeping her with him aint it for me.
Where is the rest of the book? I understand everybody plays the fool, but why did she have to be that foolish this man repeatedly played her like I fool and she constantly let him have access to her. What example did she set for her kids?
Zale made me so mad . Eryn should not have forgave him . Zale just wanted his cake and eat it too. No women should have to wait around for the man she wants to be with grow up.Good book.
I have read plenty of books 📚 by Ericka B and I’ve loved plenty of them! But this one! Wasn’t my favorite only because Zale was a manipulative narcissist and I didn’t think he deserves to have his family when he was always giving his “ heart “ his A** to kiss! I also wanted Eryn to wake up and realize she deserve more than a hard d**k! Because words without actions is null and voided! Chile this book will definitely have you in ya feelings 😂
I knew something was wrong with Clive he was crazy and Eryn got lucky that Zale was always around. Things could have definitely ended differently. What an amazing read
