2.5 | muss gestehen es war besser als erwartet und hat mich auch mehrmals zum lachen gebracht.
War am Weg zum 3 Sterne Buch - bis das Ende kam.
Childhood friends to lovers - love it.

Pros: Tropes I like, gorgeous setting, a hockey player
Con: The drama wasn’t explored like it should have been.

Anna and Michael are childhood friends who agree to pretend to be married so they can accompany his sister/her friend McKenna and husband Sam to a save-your-marriage resort. There’s #JustOneBed, a trope I love. There were a lot of enjoyably awkward moments, some will they, won’t they tension, and then suddenly it was over!

I just think more could’ve been done. Things were coming to a crisis and were too easily resolved. There was earlier evidence that the characters had trouble forgiving, and then it was over. The book reminded me of student papers from my teaching days, when the writer hit the minimum length and then quickly wrapped everything up.

Anna is fully supportive of her best friend whose marriage seems to be in a bit of trouble. Anna's friend is off to an island where couples try and rekindle their love. For a reason that make sense in the story (but not now) she wants her best friend and her brother to come along to the island with her for moral support.

Anna's life is in a bit of a downer so she figures she might enjoy a holiday on an island. The only catch is that she has to go along with her best friends brother whom she has had a crush on for years AND she has to pretend to be his wife. What could go wrong?

This was a lovely holiday read and really well narrated.

Anna makes no sense. She has this huge crush on Michael and they make rules to pretend to be married. No flirting with other people yet Anna like a day or so in already tells a guy she is single and is flirting. But when Michael even spoke to a girl she was instantly pissed and that was before they even went on the trip. I just don’t really get it. But wasn't expecting Daisy showing up and honestly I hated her it ended so quick. You don't get to see the couple talk things out just quickly fast forward that they are together and gonna have kids. It was sweet but like not the best.

I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Anna’s best friend McKenna’s marriage is in trouble so she asks Anna to go to an island getaway that specializes in reviving marriages. McKenna asks her brother Michael to go and pretend to be Anna’s husband. Anna has liked him for some time, but he keeps rebuffing her. He’s running from his problems. The plot centers around their fake relationship, and communication. An engaging story.

I read this because a friend really, really wanted me to read it. The male love interest was so immature. In real life, this guy would end up alone and bitter - not understanding that he put himself in that position.

I was also put off by the female lead's insecurity over her bra cup size. Maybe it was supposed to make her seem sympathetic, but after awhile I just wanted the author to drop the subject and shut up about it.

AUDIOBOOK
2 Couples:
McKenna and Sam
Anna and Michael

McKenna and Michael are siblings and Anna is McKenna’s bestfriend. Sam is an asshole at its finest. The book didn’t really get to deepen both stories. The audiobook I listened to felt so incomplete. After Michael realizing he loved Anna, the next chapter was they are married. What’s with that, or is the audiobook incomplete? It could’ve been a great grovel scene but it was deprived of it.

I listened to the audio version of The Proposal with Her Best Friend's Brother, so when the narrator said, "Epilogue," I was sure I had accidentally fast-forwarded it. Something was clearly missing! But it wasn't. Lol. Anna and Michael actually have a toxic relationship. As usual, neither is aware of that fact. And, as usual, readers like me love the fact that we're let in on their angst. And we smile like goofballs at their HEA.

The Proposal with her Best Friend’s Brother is a fake marriage romance with both Anna and Michael finding their way to love after years of mix ups from not being honest with themselves and each other. It’s a fun, light well written story.

I listened to the audiobook version and initially thought a chapter was missing at the end, until I read other readers' comments. A concluding chapter that provides resolution for the main characters would have greatly enhanced the story.

I listened to this on audiobook from the authors YouTube page. It was a good book. I felt like it could have used a little bit more depth and understanding of why the characters acted the way they did and the miscommunications revolving their past crushes on each other.

Maybe 3.5 stars
The MMC was not very likable. His wishy-washy thinking and lack of a backbone was not endearing and the FMC just overlooked it all.

It was all over the place, she could’ve done so much more but it felt forced and rushed. There was no real plot and the characters were honestly really stale.

I liked this book a lot! Anna and Michael are a fun couple and their story was cute. I loved how they came together to help McKenna in her time of need. I definitely recommend this book!

A bit too cheesy for me personally and I didn't love the abrupt ending.

Could not finish the book. Stopped to part after they spoke with the therapist. Idk I find the characters to be quite annoying. Anna with the constant self pity and Michael with the stupid decisions. Like omg just tell each other about your true feelings already. I’m noticing a particular pattern in Anne Marie Meyers books which is denial, and self pity. LOTS OF IT. It’s annoying.
