The Destruction You Desire

Rate this book
After six years of living in denial, Luca is finally faced with the truth. A brutal discovery he refused to accept when I needed him most.

Now the vengeance he so desperately craves isn’t directed at me, but the monster responsible for destroying all our lives.

That might put us on the same side this time, but that doesn’t mean I can forgive him for not believing me. Or for hating me when I loved him.

Just when I think the darkness couldn’t drag us down any further, it threatens to swallow me whole.

Only this time Luca is right there beside me, reminding me how things used to be… fighting for me. Begging for my forgiveness.

Something I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to give him.

Until he proves that the boy I fell for still exists, underneath the one who broke my heart.

And I begin to wonder if there ever was a question about our future.

Dear Reader,
The Destruction You Desire is the fifth book in my Maddison Kings University series and the second book in a duet for Peyton and Luca. It's a dark bully romance that contains mature content and demanding alphaholes that some readers may find disturbing. You have been warned.

The Destruction You Desire wrapped up Luca and Peyton's story nicely. Luca was on very thin ice with me for a good while in both books, but I'm happy he finally got his shit together to be the man that Peyton needed him to be. Peyton is a motherfucking real one. She deserved nothing less!

She always goes above and beyond for the people she cares about. Peyton is loyal, selfless, and empathetic. Anyone would be lucky to have her, and Luca definitely is! She tried to put herself in his shoes and gave him more than enough chances even though he really didn't deserve it. Her love for her family is breathtaking, and her heart is beautiful.

If you read this book for anyone, read it for her! She carried the story for me. I loved Luca in Kane and Letty's story, but he disappointed me more times than not here. I was so happy to see him come to his senses and start taking some of the weight off her shoulders in the process. He tries to make things up to her, and at this point, that's all he can do. You can't change the past, but you can learn from it and do better. By the end, I could tell that he truly appreciated her and would do whatever he had to to make her feel cherished and loved. I couldn't ask for anything more.

If messy, angsty, new adult is your thing, this one's for you!

I was totally hooked to every page. This story was so juicy, and I couldn't put it down. When Luca finds out Peyton's secret their worlds unravel. She'd tried to tell him what was going on, but he was too stubborn to see it. This is a gritty read with a dark past. The chemistry is heated but can the truth finally set them free.

Yes, Brother, Your Eyes Do Not Deceive

4.5 stars - Luca, Luca, Luca.... His anger and stubbornness continues to get him into trouble in the second half of this duet. As for Peyton, her heartache moves in a new direction as more of the past resurfaces.

I was hooked by this occasionally toxic duo. I really liked the real-life reactions people have to traumatic and life-changing revelations. Including, the opposite responses from Leon and Luca to the secret that burst onto the scene when Luca crashed Peyton's birthday celebration.

I also like that Peyton finally found her fight and took steps to get what she wanted instead of constantly capitulating to Luca's tantrums. Then there were the friendships she made after so long of being bare of close friends. Letty and Ella are the dynamic duo that every girl needs in her life. 💜💛

It's not all bad. There are truly sweet and tender moments, as well as some rough and ragged 🔥🔥 times, throughout that help balance the evil that rears its ugly head, often in the form of Brett Dunn or the damage caused by him.

I'm looking forward to Leon's story. I kind of hope for more of a hero than the anger-fueled men that we've seen in the MKU series. I know it's wishful thinking but it won't stop my wishing. 💋 I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

ALL MY REVIEWS CAN BE FOUND ON MY BLOG: ABSTRACT BOOKS

line

Star Rating : 4/5 Stars

POV : Dual

Cliffhanger : None

Hero : Luca

Heroine : Peyton

Pace of the story : Moderate

Angst Rating : 5/10

Heat Rating : 5/10

Triggers Involved : Bullying , Past trauma

Plot Summary :
Everything Luca ever knew has been a lie. The one girl he destroyed over a lie she told has been a fluke all along. It turns out that she was the true one this whole time and now they don't know what to do anymore.

Peyton is sort of relieved that the cat is out of the bag. She is scared about what this means for her and Luca but she is also angry at home for never believing her. If only he had trusted her in the first place, so much pain could have been avoided.

Overall Opinion :
Damn this author is literally a machine. She gives me some of the best romances and that too so fast! I love that about her. This duet of hers is also one of my best reads by her.

Luca and Peyton have one hell of a dark romance tale that will hit you so hard and make you scream and curse at once. They have an HEA but the twists are so worth the read! I just loved it so much. Luca was exactly the Dark brooding character I imagined him to be and that was even more perfect.

I would definitely recommend this duet to all the dark romance, high school bully plus suspense romance loving people out there!!

The Destruction You Desire is book two in Peyton and Luca's story. Picking up at the end of book one the pair need to face some hard realities on their journey to each other. Peyton needs to let her hair down and Luca needs to accept some hard truths. The journey won't be easy but it will be so worth it.

3.5 stars!

Tracy’s conclusion to Peyton and Luca’s duet within the MKU series was a bittersweet ending to this couple’s story, as although their relationship was healed, there were so many loose ends left in other plotlines, which I can only assume will be tied up throughout the rest of the series.

Luca’s life has been rocked once again. Having discovered the truth, something Peyton had tried to tell him all those years ago has thrown him into a tailspin. Whilst trying to process this new information, he realises this is his final chance to get Peyton back, and convince her that after all this time, and all his actions, he still loves her. Peyton is done with Luca and his behaviour, but when she receives upsetting news, he once again inserts himself into her life trying to help. But is it to late for Luca to prove that underneath the cold and calculating exterior, is the boy she used to love?

Luca is still probably one of my least favourites of Tracy’s heroes, as although we got to learn more about his jerky entitled persona and why he was the way he was, I still found him to be very self-centred and only really bothered about how things affected him. Unfortunately, by the end, I still just didn’t click with him. Tracy’s writing allows you to sympathise for his past, but that’s no excuse for some of his behaviour, and I feel at times it was kind of brushed to one side and just accepted. Although Peyton did stand up for herself against him, and did make him grovel, it had to reach breaking point for anyone else in his life to tell him to get his act together.

Peyton was by far my favourite character, her strength was just incomparable because she could’ve let any number of the traumatic events that happened in her life be the thing that broke her, but she just never stopped going. That isn’t to say that she didn’t let it get to her, she did, and she had moments where she needed to let the grief and anxiety wash over her, but she always found some inner strength and did what she could to help those she loved.

I did get to the point in the book where I was getting fed up with Luca’s childish antics, making it all about him, and whilst I was happy, he did pull his act together and finally be the man he thought Peyton needed, I think it’s clear that Peyton was truly capable of doing things on her own. It was her choice to forgive Luca and let him back in, she wanted him in her life, because she loved him, not because she couldn’t live without him. Tracy builds the angst and the drama so well, but there were a few loose ends that I need answers too, so hopefully we’ll get them in the remaining books in this series. Leon has been intriguing since we properly met him in The Vengeance You Crave; I need to meet his dark side and find out more about him as soon as possible!

The Vengeance You Crave: Book 4

The Destruction You Desire: Book 5

Authour: Tracy Lorraine @tracy_lorraine_author

"You're not leaving this place until every single inch of your body knows who owns it."

"You had me, Luc, and you threw me away. I'll never belong to you again."

"My skin begins to tingle with awareness. It's a reaction I only get when one person is close."

"I need her. I need her more than I'm willing to admit, and that terrifies me."

Why do I keep getting so invested with these characters? Why can I never put Tracy's books down? I ask myself this every time I pick one of her books because it is my addiction and I'm not afraid to share that with everyone.

Luca and Peyton's story surprised me in the best way, it was the story I didn't know I needed. A second chance to be friends/lovers after a huge secret was revealed? Sign me up the way Tracy kept us on our toes on what this lie/secret could have kept me from putting the book down.

Like most of Tracy's characters, these two had a lot to work through but the only way they could get past it was by sharing everything so they could get past all the hurt together which at moments I was truly wondering if they could get past it.  Could they move on from all the hurt they kept on causing each other once they reconnected after 5 years of being apart?

This story broke me a little and I was so invested with their story. I know there is always a happy ending but I questioned how they would get there. What a roller-coaster of emotions these two gave me. I loved every minute of it and I can't wait for the next two books in this series.

UPDATE
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

The Destruction You Desire is the fifth book in the Maddison Kings University and the highly anticipated conclusion to Luca and Peyton’s duet. From the very beginning you’re thrown straight back into the thick of it. After that cliffhanger, I was frantic to find out what happened next. I was not disappointed. Bombshells were dropped, secrets revealed but alas, there was still a lot more coming for Luca and Peyton to face. Be prepared for a non-stop, drama filled, angsty ride.

I’m probably in the minority, but this wasn’t my favourite book in the series. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it and Tracy’s writing was flawless as always. The cameos from previous characters were great and I loved the insight into how their lives were progressing. Peyton’s strength and resilience continued to impress me. The small glimpses into Leon’s life were just enough to increase my curiosity and heighten my anticipation to learn more. But I read this over a few days which I don’t typically like to do, and my mood was all over the place which severely affected my overall feelings. I felt my connection to Lucas and Peyton lacking due to what I perceived as very similar personalities and mannerisms between the present and past main characters. Luca’s feelings seemed to change with a snap of the fingers making his reunion with Peyton feel slightly rushed, which then in turn made the book end abruptly. Which brings me to my next point of maybe me just being greedy, but there were a lot of unresolved issues and unanswered questions.

So even though this one didn’t quite hit the spot, you may adore it. The series as a whole is still one of my absolute favourite series and I can’t wait for Leon’s story next!

This is the ending I needed for Luca and Peyton's story. What a way to end the duet. It was so worth the wait. Their chemistry is still undeniable but there were just a lot of secrets kept that finally is unveiled, betrayals and damages are done. This is so much more intense, hot, and steamy. I really loved Luca in this one. He definitely redeemed himself.

I can't wait for Leon's book.

The Destruction You Desire is a fantastic conclusion to Luca's story! This whole Series has been a wild, intense ride, with just enough drama to keep you turning pages. If you can't get enough of over the top Alphas, a great storyline, lots of steam, and Kindle throwing emotion, this one will keep you turning pages! Bring on Leon's story now! 4 Stars!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is the series that just keeps on giving! Each book more intense, gritty and addictive than the last.

Is TDYD as flawless and perfect as the rest of the MKU series? God yes, it's incredible, it's original and emotionally shattering in the most spectacular ways!

We aren't kept waiting long to get answers to that massive cliffhanger Tracy so generously gave us in book 4 of MKU 😑😂 Luckily we pick up right where we left off, however that is only the tip of the iceberg! All I can say is just go in and be prepared for the storm that is the conclusion to Luca and Peytons love story.

Peyton, wow, how do you even describe her? She's carried the weight of the world on her shoulders for 5 years, she has more responsibility than any 20 year old should have ever had. She's strong, loving, generous, beautiful, kind, fiercely loyal and for want of a better phrase, she's a total babe! My heart shatters for her and how she's been treated when all she tried to do was the right thing.

Luca is so consumed by darkness, anger and guilt that he can't even make it out of his own head for such a long period of time. Not going to lie, I wanted to slap him and tell him to get a grip! I couldn't believe that after everything, after every realisation and every truth unraveled he STILL continued with his dark ways for so long.

Thank god for letty talking some sense into him, and saying what I was definitely thinking!  He needed a harsh reality check to be able to get his mind sorted and go after what he loved and wanted and try and right some wrongs, and yes, he is just as swoon worthy and delicious as you imagine him to be when he's grovelling!

I just don't know if I've been able to forgive Luca for all of it! I LOVE him because of who is really is deep down and who we saw in the first three books of MKU, but I just don't LIKE him after everything. I'm probably going to eat my words when we see that he's finally stuck to his usual loving self in the next MKU book and I fall in love with him all over again!

Leon though, GIMME! I need him so bad, such an angel! Although he definitely has a dark side to him that I don't doubt we will see 👀 please don't make me fall out of love with him 😩, although I'm not sure it's possible that I could, he was always my favourite Dunn Twin and my love for him is endless 🥰

Wow just wow!! the conclusion to this duet was full of unexpected surprises from the very first page, I couldn't put it down!!!

Luca comes facing the truth and the secret that Peyton has cover for 6 years and everything he believes comes crashing down. Emotions are all overs the place and Luca has some work to do the earn Peyton's forgiveness.

Luca's character changes so much in this book and we see a whole new completely side of him that we didn't see in the previous book. I can honestly say that I like him now lol.

Peyton continues with her strong character and determination to keep the ones she loves save. But in this book she faces new challenges that made me love her even more.

The passion and chemistry between Luca and Peyton is hotter and explosive than ever, but this couple has a bumpy rode and many obstacles ahead. Will they had their HEA? you just have to wait and read.

This is the second and final installment between Lucas and Peyton. Tracy Lorraine left me in utter shock with the first book craving more with a lot of theories going through my mind. This book answers all the questions, lots of twists and unexpected revelations are made within the first ten seconds. This book felt like an adrenaline rush I loved each moment. There is the right amount of heart ache, swooney, sizzling moments. The interaction of key characters from her past books had me smiling. The continuous push and pull has me screaming they are just meant to be together but this secret destroyed them. When revelations are made it had me sitting there and thinking what the.. Tracy Lorraine knows how to get you in the minds of her character and feel every emotion they are feeling. Just like her usual, Tracy throws a little spanner at the end for the next book on the series. All I can say is bring it all because I meant it all now.

I received an arc to give an honest opinion.

This is the second book in in Peyton and Luca's duet. You must read The Vengeance You Crave first to get their complete story and personally, I highly recommend the complete Maddison Kings University series to fully maximize your reading enjoyment. This book/duet/series has wicked sharp edges and plenty of dark content. So it will not be for every reader. If you have no trigger worries, like having your boundaries pushed and find all things dark enticing, there is massive appeal for you. I honestly feel like this couple put my heart through a meat grinder. Their story is painful and poignant. Raw emotions, drama, mistakes, twists, tension have your heart an aching mess and your nerves stretched to the breaking point. Peyton I simply adored, while Luca I struggled with mightily in book one. In the end he won me over but he had a ton of work to do to get there. This is my candid review that I am posting of my own accord.

Book 5 in the MKU series was just as explosive and emotional as the others! This is the second in the duet following Luca & Peyton.

It kicks straight back off where book 4 left off and dives back to all the action instantly. Luca was a completely different person in book 4 compared to the first 3 books and I really struggled to relate to him in that book but in this one he felt like the Luca I knew and loved again!

Luca & Peyton’s pull to each other & chemistry is just undeniable and it was so HOT and palpable and just had you rooting for them to resolve their issues. Peyton was so strong and she had faced so many traumatic times in her life and she deserved a HEA more than anyone!

This series is just so good and has everything you could want! The perfect bully romance just written to an exceptional level! If you haven’t started this series you really should know! Bring on Leon’s books next 👏🏼🙌🏼

So, another typical misunderstanding, non-communicating alpha-hole that causes havoc until the truth is finally set free and then all is well. I love to read it, all of it. Ha!

Not much to really elaborate here with the story itself as you can probably figure out how it goes, but what I want I know is what the hell happened to their Dad?? What’s happening with Libby??? And what about Elijah??? I need some more answers, this just left us hanging really. And, I have to be honest. I *really* thought Leon’s story was going to go MM. Guess I was wrong! Slightly disappointed. Lol.

This finale to Luca and Peyton’s story is just as intense as the first part. I found myself ignoring laundry to continue to read this. Tracy definitely outdid herself writing their story, it’s so full pain, angst, and heartbreaking moments that when she shined the light on these two it was a breath of fresh air.
Peyton is the powerhouse type of heroine that I love to run across in stories. This young woman handles so much and just continues to push forward. Luca totally redeemed himself and won my heart. This young man goes from being broken and so full of pain to the person he was meant to be. I loved how he took handle of situations when he knew Peyton was at her breaking point, even when she denied it. These two were meant for meant for each other, even though they had a helluva fight to get there, and I found myself engrossed to the end.

That was incredible and epic! I didn’t even think that series of events would’ve unfolded the way it did! Luca and Peyton’s story is so complex and wrought with so many skeletons…it’s amazing to watch this story unfold! Absolutely one of my favorite reads of the year!

The Destruction You Desire picks up right after book one finishes but this time it‘s from Luca‘s point of view.

This second part of Luca and Peyton‘s story is a wild one! Soooo much stuff happens, my head is still spinning a hundred miles per hour. I enjoyed it alot though! Even if Peyton got on my nerves a bunch of times in this book because of her inner thoughts. Some I could understand but she changed her mind so much I got whiplash.

Nonetheless I would recommend this series to everyone! Tracy Lorraine really is a master of bully and enemies to lovers romances!

The Destruction You Desire is Book 5 of the Maddison Kings University series and the final book of Luca and Peyton's duet.

Luca was standing outside Peyton's house undecided. He has been so cruel to Peyton since she returned to town after breaking his heart and moving away five years ago. Who is he kidding this is all his own fault for not believing her, calling her a liar, and turning his back on his best friend.

He hears laughter from the backyard and gets up the nerve and opens the back gate. Everyone looks up in shock when they hear the gate slam, but that's not what catches his attention. The huge bouquet flowers and birthday card he was folding fall from his hands as he looks at a child who looked exactly as he did at that age.

Did he have a child that she had hidden from him? He is enraged. But, when she tells him that she never lied to him he is even more enraged. That he trusted the wrong person and had turned his back on the woman he loved. He is looking at his brother. His father did in fact make her underage sister pregnant.

Kaeden is looking at him from a wheelchair. He had been in the car accident that had killed Payton's mother months ago. He would eventually get better and even having broken both his legs in the accident he was a very happy five-year-old boy.

When Peyton received a call from a doctor in Atlanta that her sister was in ICU from an overdose and might not make it, he knew he had to step up and be the man she needed. So he gets them a flight immediately.

It was while they were waiting for her sister to wake up that he found out why she was working at The Locker. An exclusive men's club where the waitresses received extra tips for their special services. Although Peyton didn't provide those services he hated the provocative way she was forced to dress and he didn't know how to tell her that she worked for the man she hated, his dad.

So he made arrangements for Libby's hospital stay, upcoming rehabilitation, and Peyton's debt for the hospital bills for her mom and Kaeden's hospital and medical bills. It was the least that he could do regardless of how pissed she was about it.

He and his twin needed to get together and decide how to ruin their dad and make him pay for all that he has done to Libby and he doesn't know how many other girls he abused.

This was an amazing end to Luca and Peyton's story. I loved how when Luca found out the truth it wasn't all roses. Luca realizes that he may have lost Peyton forever with his cruelty and Payton doesn't make it easy on him.

I love the characters! Luca and Peyton's relationship is erotic and highly sexual. Even as they hated each other they couldn't deny their chemistry. I loved Letty opening up and getting more Leon time. Can't to wait to see what he's been hiding from Luca.

This book is very well written and you feel part of the story. It is action-packed and full of suspense along with smoking how s#x! Highly recommend this book and the complete Maddison Kings University series!

Solid 3.5 stars & spoilers ahead!

Wow, this one was…not as I expected. I LOVED the hot as sin alpha hole Luca was during Letty & Kanes books for sure! He just became mean and douchey in this one. He flipped his script so hardcore I wouldn’t have been able to guess at him being the same person we’d met in previous books. Then there is Peyton, our weakest heroine in this series yet. She let Luca walk all over her so badly I found myself getting mad at the book. (Yes, evoking emotions is good but not because of the h being a freaking doormat). I hate it when authors do that. Also when the h has the inevitable chance to show compassion and not turn into the H, they always kick the Hero when he’s down. That always makes me angry.(Yes, I know HE’d been a d*ck too but not in a way the h wants to kill herself)! Shows not a lot of love after all huh?I cannot wait though to find out if that is his DAD’s son or not! The way Kayden calls her PeyPey makes me feel like she isn’t the mom... Will have to tune into next book as this one ended on a cliff hanger. Eeck!!

The Destruction You Desire is the final chapter to Luca and Peyton’s story from their duet series within the Maddison Kings University series. It continues off from the cliffhanger ending in The Vengeance You Crave, while still being told through Peyton and Luca's perspective.

This final chapter continued to throw me for a loop at times, just like in the previous book. All while hitting me hard and deep too. Talk about heart breaking, gut wrenching and mind blowing all at the same time. The outburst of emotions and feelings were even more thorough, with the fact that they burrowed greater and further into the mind and body. Luca and Peyton’s story that is filled to the depth with the raw, intense, nitty gritty angst gave Kane and Letty’s story a run for their money for sure. It was definitely a wild rollercoaster ride, throwing you all over the place with all the loops, twists and drops. All the while still holding on tight in wanting to reach the end to see how it would play out.
Blow after blow the different emotional outburst had you feeling sympathy throughout, especially towards Peyton considering everything she continued to endure. As well as what she endured in the past, having finally discovered the mysteries behind the secrets that were alluded to in The Vengeance You Crave. My heart definitely broke for her. But the fact that she kept forging on for her loved ones proved her selflessness. She deserved major applause, always putting others ahead of herself with worrying how they would be affected first. And then worrying about herself after once was all said and done.
As for Luca, though he had a lot of moments of being a selfish arrogant douchebag with his stupidity. I still felt bad for him, with all the pressure he had on his shoulders I am surprised he didn’t combust from it all.
Although he may have handled things badly in the beginning, especially when it came to Peyton. But he definitely did redeem himself, by putting her first after all the secrets are revealed. All while seeking redemption to prove he is worth another chance. And for that I give him props, not only with realising he was in the wrong. But for admitting it and then working towards forgiveness for it.

Though with that said, I did have an issue with the climax, something I had been looking forward to since this book. Unfortunately it ended up being not what I expected or hoped for. Not only was it anticlimactic, but it seemed non existent too. Considering everything that occurred and all the tension that lead to the crescendo, I expected a huge explosion. Seeing as it played an important part when it came to Peyton and Luca and their story. The whole scene ended up being mostly alluded to having not being shown or full expanded on when it came to the details. Resulting in the explosion being a dud before the blast could occur.

Regardless of my issue, I still enjoyed Luca and Peyton’s duet series. Tracy did it again with bring another great series to life within the Maddison Kings University series.
Though it has to be said, I can’t wait for Leon’s story finally. Been looking forward to his since reading Letty and Kane’s series.

The Destruction You Desire is the conclusion to Luca and Peyton’s duet. A dark, college bullyromance with some suspense as the truth comes out. In the first books we had met Luca and I had felt sorry for him but in The Vengeance You Crave, he was a totally different character. I hoped we would see the better side to him in this book and that he and Peyton to get back what they had when they were younger. This story is full of so much anger, frustration and confusion as Luca, Peyton and Leon sort through the past and have to come to terms with the consequences of what happened six years ago.
At last Luca finally starts to question himself over his reaction to what Peyton had told him. He is realising he may have misplaced his loyalty all this time and should have believed her after all. He had convinced himself he had done the best thing to protect his family. He has also come to realise he needs her so much and it terrifies him that he may have lost her for good now. To him she is still his best friend and he can’t accept her turning her back on him and maybe using him for what she needs. His personality definitely changes throughout the book as one minute he is loving and caring towards her then he mean and evil the next. It was lovely to see the soft side of Luca return as all his anger and confusion slowly melts away and his emotionless mask disappears.Peyton is emotionally overwhelmed by everything but somehow finds the strength to face up to everything and manages to deal with Luca. Will he accept the proof to believe her, stop feeling betrayed by her and lose all the hatred he has for her. For the first time we see her stand up to him and doesn’t want him in her life anymore because ehe made his choice. Peyton knows she still loves Luca but the version she loved doesn’t exist anymore and he is not the same person anymore. The worse is when he terrifyingly angry and turns into his dad, becoming cold and vicious. However, she is confused because he has brought a dark and twisted side out in her, and she has actually enjoyed the punishment and pain he has delivered.
She had always hated his Dad for how he treated Luca and put so much pressure on him. It is obvious to her that he is still trying to control him. It is sad how Luca is suffering and thinking of quitting football. Leon confesses that Luca was never the same after she left but no one guessed how bad it had affected him. We find out the truth about Kayden in a shocking reveal. How will the twins react to the news? It was all great seeing how supportive Elle, Letty and Bry were to Peyton and it was interesting how Letty shared her experiences with Kane to help Peyton understand Luca’s behaviour. I loved how Elijah and Elle get together especially as it brought some fun into the story.
It was nice to see Peyton confiding in Leon and how he believed all she told him but he is clearly fighting some internal battles over all the news, secrets and shocking truths that are revealed. Leon’s story is going to be the final duet in the Maddison Kings University series. I am looking forward to finding out why he has an obsession with redheads and what caused the darkness inside him.

When The Vengeance You Crave ended on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger, I was dying for The Destruction You Desire. It picks up where the previous book left off, and let me tell you, it is a non-stop roller coaster of emotions. Like the first book, it is dark, angsty, raw, gritty, intense, drama-filled, heartbreaking, and steamy. When earth-shattering secrets come to light, they have the power to destroy more lives than they already have.

Luca is a football God at his school with a promising future in football but he is on a path to destruction. He and Peyton grew up as best friends and then they turned into lovers until something happens that rips them apart and Peyton was forced to leave. Now he hates her. Six years later, she is back but he is not the boy Peyton once knew and loved. He knows this. Too much has happened that has put darkness in his heart and soul. Luca tried to convince himself that he hated Peyton and wanted revenge on her, but you know what they say... "There is a thin line between love and hate." As Luca begins to question his original beliefs, he wonders if he was wrong about Peyton, but is it too late for him and Peyton? But that's not all he has to worry about. He has a twin, Leon, he is worried about Leon because he knows that Leon's hiding something big but has no idea what it is. I can't wait to see what it is!

Peyton has been through a lot in her young life and has a lot of responsibility on her shoulders for someone so young. She is broken and heartbroken. She is trying to stay strong and resist Luca. Even though she still loves him, she has to resist him because she knows that she won't survive more heartbreak from Luca. There's too much at stake here and she isn't the only person who will be affected if Luca breaks her again and doesn't fulfill his promises.

The hate. The love. The angst, pain, steam, bomb-drop moments, and intense push and pull made this book addicting. There were wonderful, supportive, and mysterious characters who I wanted to explore and uncover their deepest, darkest secrets. I liked the plot. It flowed well and it was well-written. What didn't work for me was the way it ended. It felt rushed and some things went unanswered and unresolved. After all of this build-up, it was disappointing to have it end so abruptly. That is the reason for a 3.75-star review. We do get a sneak peek at Leon's story and that is definitely intriguing! Leon was a contradiction and a mystery that I can't wait to unravel.

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK: THE DESTRUCTION YOU DESIRE
GENRE: Contemporary Romance
AUTHOR: Tracy Lorraine
TROPE: dark romance, bully romance, second chance romance, college
TYPE: Maddison Kings University Book #5
POV: Multiple POV
MY RATING: 5.0 Stars

This book picks up right where #4 left off. It’s Peyton’s birthday and Luca has come to try and mend the rift between them only to discover she’s been hiding a secret from him. Luca has had a change of heart and will do anything to get Peyton back in his life. Will the two finally put the past behind themselves and come together?

This book was an emotional read for me. I love the angst and heated relationship that Tracy paints for her characters. There is a lot of hurt and anger between Peyton and Luca. The sex between them is explosive as a result. Their relationship is strained because of the secret that threatens to tear them apart. I love the complete one eighty that Luca does to try and win Peyton back. There is a lot of history between the two of them and the love is still evident in the way they interact with each other. This book is smut at its finest. I bet you if you looked up hate sex in the dictionary, books by Tracy Lorraine would be listed. There is such a fine line between abuse and dark sex, and the author knows how to give the reader just enough without taking it too far. That’s my personal opinion. The book does have some trigger warnings and other readers may not feel the same way that I do. However, I absolutely loved this book. The whole duet. Amazing.

This entire series is a 5* read. Books #4 & #5 are the Peyton and Luca duet. I would suggest reading all the books in the series to get a good understanding of the characters and their backstories. If you love dark bully romance, then you’re going to love Tracy Lorraine’s books.

Picking up where the last book left it. Luca finally has to face up to the truth he's been denying for so long.....

And he struggles greatly.

The way he treats Peyton is beyond redemption - I think anyway. But I guess with life and live, you should never say never!

As Luca is once again, trying to sort thru his own issues with alcohol, anger and rough sex with Peyton, the very girl is in need of his help.

Her sister is in icu with an OD that could take her life. This shakes Peyton to the core but Luca truly comes thru for her arranging flights, hotel, food, sorting insurance and a rehab centre if needed.

But this time, it's Peyton who's confused by it, which, let's face it, it's long over due! He's had her all over the place!

When going into the Locker Room to clear out her locker, she is faced with a pissed off boss, who didn't want to let her go, and the devil of this story, Lucas dad, Brett...... They lock her in the office with Dark promises and tearing her shirt....

Only Bryan is in the bar, but can lyca or Leon come to the rescue? Can Brett finally get what's due to him??

Were given glimpses of Leon struggling which is kinda sad to see as I have a soft spot for him. He always seems to be "the friend" and he deserves a HEA. I hope his story finds him getting it!

The addition of the sister and her pregnancy and the father boosted this into a filler story. Without these aspects I wonder how it coukd have gone... Possibly the only thing I didn't like was the way Luca spoke to her during the really rough sex. I understand its wordplay but they just seemed to try to make her feel... bad somehow...

Apart from that, like the other MKU reads, I enjoyed it! Look forward to Leon's story!

This is the second book for Payton and Lucy's story so if you are just reading by couples you need the previous one first. It was intense, dynamic, and such an intriguing story, secrets finally came out, the steam was there as well as everything else I expected. I definitely want to know Leon's story next. I wish them on audiobook they would be amazing to hear.

Dun, Dun, Dunn!  The Destruction You Desire is book five in the Maddison Kings University Series by Tracy Lorraine.  Over the top alpha male college football players rule the school and the pages of this spicy, over the top angsty story.  Lots of drama that will keeping you asking, “What the hell was he thinking?”  This story revolves around Peyton and Lucca Dunn (The QB of the Kings and twin brother to Leon) and their rekindling of their love/hate relationship.  Peyton told Lucca something when they were teenagers that he didn’t believe, and he called her a liar and sent her on her way.  They were both heartbroken and six years later that heartbreak is still evident.  Peyton is back now and more broken than ever, and it’s time for Lucca to face some hard truths.   This story is full of so many ups and downs.  Lucca is angry and passionate and loves Peyton but doesn’t know how to handle his love.   I really like the guys and girls in this series, their love is strong but so is the hate.  I didn’t like that the book ends and there is no real reveal of what happened.  The conclusion is just for the readers imagination.  I’m hoping that the underlying story line continues with book six even though it will focus around the second twin, Leon.  When I say that the ending wasn’t revealed I don’t mean there is a cliffhanger.  There is a part of the story that is huge, and the characters all float around this “part”, and everyone is mad and worked up and then it just ends.  Nothing is resolved.   I still think this is a 5-star read and I can’t wait for book six because I’m dying to know what Leon’s secrets are.
