Emocionante, entretenido, romántico
Kane conoce lo que es el trabajo duro, desde muy joven con su empresa de informática y ahora con el ejército. Así que cuando descubren una amenaza a un espectáculo en el medio oriente, solo el trabajo duro y la perseverancia será lo que logrará que detengan la masacre que los rebeldes quieren.
Pero está nueva misión trae consigo el conocer a la mujer más atractiva que ha visto en mucho tiempo.
Será que podrá hacer que ella lo vea como algo más que sexo de una noche?
Es un libro romántico, pero lleno de acción y suspenso, tiene sus altibajos, pero para ser el primero de una serie, resulta bastante entretenido.
En fin, me gustó bastante la trama y algunos de los secundarios, no tanto los protas que si me parecieron muy estereotipados, pero es seguro que leeré otros libros de esta serie más adelante.

Any book by Caitlyn O'Leary is going to be filled with action, danger and also some fun and sexy times. Kane and AJ provide all of this and more in Her Ruthless Protector. Get the book and follow them as they try to stay one step ahead of the terrorists. Loved it from the first page until the last!!

A military and reality show mixer that’s just right…
I love this author’s ensemble/groups and the new Night Storm series is going to be a must read series if A.J. and Kane are a sample of what is to come…
There was a terrorist threat and a few different venues in Oman that could be the target. Tasked with looking after a fluffy music show, Kane took his role seriously even if the team didn’t believe this event was the real target. A.J. was the beautiful and more than capable show organizer who had a gentle but more than competent hand at the wheel. The sparks flew between, and around, them which meant an exciting and chemistry-filled read…
The characters were funny and warm when they weren’t fighting terrorism of course. I loved the moments of humour that offfered some lightheartedness in the midst of sobering, and deadly, events surrounding them. A.J. was warm and caring even as she faced every obstacle with intelligence and courage. Kane was a man you wanted at your back and at your side when things went south… The sparks between them couldn’t be denied, just enjoyed…
This was reality show meets romantic suspense with an ensemble cast that I can’t wait to more about… A great first read of what I hope will be a lengthy series… ~Diane, 4 stars

Superb! Ok it’s official I have a new girl crush / heroine - AJ is awesome! She’s smart, funny, take charge, quirky, gorgeous and I want her to be my best friend. It’s no wonder Kane fell for her. Kane is no slouch either and another completely adorable Seal. Everything about this new series is fabulous and ticks all my boxes - plenty of action (the plot follows on from Her Loving Hero), wonderful characters, humour and hot sex! I loved Midnight Delta and Black Dawn and know Night Storm is going to just as good.
Kane feels he has drawn the short straw when he’s tasked with the Eurovision Song Contest to assess as one of four potential terrorist targets but soon changes his mind when he meets AJ. Kane knows she’s it for him but AJ is much more wary of commitment. I loved the mystery of what AJ stands for and completely joined in with Kane trying to guess - yep I never came even close! They get their HEA in the end and perhaps my only (minor) gripe would be I wanted more of them getting to the HEA at the end but hopefully they’ll be appearing again in the series (please, please?)

Quick read that pinged the heart…
I love this author’s military romances. Each series features a group of characters, a family, that fight for country and their loved ones. There’s humour and drama galore and the Night Storm reads have provided more of the same along with unique characters and situations that I happily lose myself into. Max was their leader and he finally gets his story, appropriate for the final (sob) NS read…
This read felt like it was grouped in sections where the first part centered on what this military crew does so well – fight and protect. That was followed up by centering on Max and Hannah and Zephyr. Heart-wrenching, with many pings to the heart, their love story truly pinged my heart at every corner. Surprises, loss, and acceptance – it was all here as a family was created through circumstance but weaved together with so much heart… I’d be hard-pressed to pick a favourite character – or even a scene or piece of dialogue – because there’s so much to choose from. This time out, I’d have to say Hannah’s mom won the ‘dialogue that had me laughing the most’ award… A great ending to the series! ~Diane, 4 stars

A kicka$$ military romance between a handsome, protective alpha and a sassy, give it right back, beautiful heroine. Both are trying to find out about the sabotages that are happening and what the terrorists are going to do when they find themselves in a hot mess. Can they figure it and the feelings that are growing or will it all blow up in there faces? Loved it😍😍😘

I am a huge fan of all things Navy SEALs. Having read all of the Black Dawn series, I happily embarked on Night Storm. If Her Ruthless Protector is any indication (and I know it is) I am in for much more great reading ahead. Kane McNamara and A.J. Lancaster started a sizzling flirtation from the moment they met. This woman is a dynamo. She's a fixer, a shoulder to cry on, an organizer, a troubleshooter and a cheerleader....well you get the picture. Kane's protective instincts come out in full force because A.J. doesn't take care of or look out for herself. He does what he does best...digs to find clues, threads to pull and intel that can stop the threat. Kane and his team are stretched to their limits trying to investigate credible information about an upcoming terrorist attack. The 'suits' are unable or unwilling to provide the resources for them to work expediently. Kane is not willing to let A.J just shrug him off after a couple of very steamy times together. He wants more and makes no bones about it. She's in protect my heart mode but this man is crumbling her walls stone by stone. Now they just need to stop what could be carnage because the show must go on.

Wow, I just love this author! This newest series looks to be another winner. Kane and his team must help Black Dawn to find some terrorists, before they attack. We have met some of Kane’s team in previous Black Dawn books, and it is great to see some old favourites once again. Kane and his men need to work side by side with AJ to protect contestants and audience members, at the Eurovision contest in Oman, one of four possible targets that they have discovered. Lots of action, danger and betrayal in this story, helps to keep the angst and tension flowing all the way through. These characters are so well-developed, that you really feel that you are walking beside them. Such a great read.

Her Ruthless Protector is a SEAL romance with what today seems to be the standard formula of foul language, instant lust and sex followed by happily ever after. A.J.’s intelligence and wit are pleasant surprises while Kane’s quick acceptance of his feelings is a breath of fresh air.

This is book 8 in the Night Storm series and it can absolutely be read as a stand alone but I recommend the other books as well as you will see some of those characters in this book. In this one, we finally get to Max's story. So this format of this story was slightly strange to me (and it's the only reason I knocked it down to 4 stars), the beginning of the book follows Max and his team on a mission. It shows how he feels while leading and him making decisions and also introduces a new female character-who at first I was sure was going to be his love interest. That's why it was slightly strange to me. Just the beginning almost didn't feel like it was a romance, just a suspense book. But then you get introduced to not only his son but the woman who has been taking care of him and loves him like he is her own. Once it got to the romance portion of the book-I loved every bit of that part! I loved how Max is with the son he never knew about. I loved how he was with Hannah. But I also loved that he made sure she knew that he wasn't with her because of his son but because of her. That portion of the book was phenomenal to me! So if you get stuck at the beginning like I was, just know that after that-it is great!

Kane is a member of the SEALs and his latest assignment takes him to the Middle East where his team finds a bunch of electronics and when they start to work their way through it they discover another threat and that is how he meets A.J. She is the producer of a variety/talent show like America's Got Talent but it encompasses different countries and is being staged in Oman. The show has already been plagued with pranks but when she is introduced to the new security team she realizes it may be more serious than she thought. Kane and A.J. are great together. They fit and they work well together. She understands him and his "job" and he works just as hard to not only keep her safe but help her with her job. The banter between them is perfect and add in the rest of the team and there are times of laughing in between the suspense and intrigue. This one was really good and I enjoyed having it in audio.

Another great book by Caitlyn O'leary! All of her books have been well written and edited and this one is no different. I love how she incorporates other teams and the right bond between the Seals. I also like books with a good plot, romance and suspense. It has some heat between the H/h without it over taking the book. AJ is strong, smart and feisty character who can hold her own with a group of seals. The characters are well developed, you can feel their personalities. When reading this and other Caitlyn O' leary books I can picture the characters and hear their voices saying the words which is the true mark of a good book. A must read for anyone who loves a good Seal suspense romance.

Wow. Not the typical story format I anticipate when reading a Caitlyn O’Leary book but it did not disappoint. Still filled with action and romance. Still amazing writing style. I loved that we got to see not only the midnight delta team interact but the other team as well. So we got a good mix of some of our favorite characters wrapped up in Max and Hannah’s story. You really don’t get into their story together until a little into the book, but the beginning puts a good perspective on Max and his head space before he gets swept away into his own personal drama. Even with the set backs he keeps facing, he does it with integrity and with swoon worthy attributes. And Hannah will not let anyone out her self worth down. Cannot wait until the next book by O’Leary!

This book was absolutely awesome and I found myself laughing at parts and near tears in another part and was filled with suspense and action packed and romance. Just loved it.

Great story line, intriguing characters humor, and old friends. A.J and Kane make a great team. She is feisty and just the perfect match for Kane. The storyline will keep you engaged from beginning to end. Great to see characters from other series but definitely not nessecery to have read other books. Kane And AJ will take you on a page turning suspenseful journey. The characters bring you laughter, drama, and their crazy path to love. Caitlyn O'Leary books are well written pages full of hell raising suspense. This is a fantastic start to a new series

More Hot Navy Seals, more suspense and steamy romance!
I have enjoyed many of Caitlyn O'Leary's previous series involving Navy Seals and the women who love them. As a wife of a retired Special Ops man, I appreciate the way Caitlyn portrays these very special military men. To some these Alpha males can seem domineering, overbearing and misogynistic. But Caitlyn O'Leary captures the real heart of these men, the drive to protect the ones they love, their sense of honor and their willingness to sacrifice their very lives for their country ,the mission and their families. It takes a special woman to love these men, and here Caitlyn also excels. The females in her novels are no pushover. Strong, independent and able to take care of themselves, they insist on being an equal partner in a relationship. These female characters will stand up in a fight if needed but recognize their men's love language enough to know when to stand down. In Caitlyn O'Leary's stories I recognize my own relationship and many of the things that hubby and I shared as time went by. While I read to escape reality and demand my fiction includes happily ever after not always found in the real world; I appreciate that Caitlyn develops relatable characters.
"Her Ruthless Protector" is the first book in another spin-off series, Night Storm. Caitlyn O'Leary introduces another Special Ops team in this novel starting with Kane McNamara. The mission and thus the setting are very original. I think that's what drew me to this novel in the first place. I am use to finding SEALS in the desert ( usually that's strictly my guy and his Army Special Ops team's arena) but a televised reality Music Show in Arab country is definitely a new venue! I loved how Caitlyn O'Leary slowly reveals how this mission makes sense. As usual she manipulates the plot and characters perfectly, including plenty of twists and turns to heighten the suspense and breath-holding terror. Caitlyn then softens the mood by interspering stolen moments of romance and mind-blowing love scenes. Overall, "Her Ruthless Protector" is a masterful mix of fantasy romance and believable action. I couldn't put it down! Once I finished I immediately ordered the next two books in the series.
Just an aside, while this is a stand alone novel in that there is no cliffhangers; it does reference other characters from previous series. If you are new to Caitlyn O'Leary I might suggest you also read some of her other series to understand some of these other teams. Even as a longtime fan of Caitlyn I find myself itching to re-read Black Dawn, Midnight Delta and other series!

I loved this book, it grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated straight to the end. This is my first book by Caitlyn O’Leary and it will not be my last, she is a gifted author. I enjoyed her writing style the story has a natural flow to it, the storylines and characters she created are realistic and easy to relate to. I adored Kane McNamara, his dedication to his Night Storm Seal team, the mission he was on and those who he swore to protect. I loved the camaraderie amongst the members of the team, it is like a great team should be. Lancaster, the event organizer and there is instant attraction. I loved these two together and for each other, he an alpha Seal, she a strong, independent woman. She is not afraid to stand up to him, Kane has met his perfect match. I loved how everything plays out in this book, loved the great banter and dialogue, how he kept trying to guess what A.J. stood for, it added light to the seriousness of the story. This book is well plotted and there is never dull moment with plenty of drama, action, some angst, humor, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt ones and some hot romance. Thank you Caitlyn O’Leary for this great story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Ryan West and Savannah Richards are fabulous narrators and voice artists. They did a great job portraying the characters, bringing them to life giving each their own voice and personality. The set the perfect tone for the story, captured the characters emotions and passions which could be heard in their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. I loved this book, it grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated straight to the end. This is my first book by Caitlyn O’Leary and it will not be my last, she is a gifted author. I enjoyed her writing style the story has a natural flow to it, the storylines and characters she created are realistic and easy to relate to. I adored Kane McNamara, his dedication to his Night Storm Seal team, the mission he was on and those who he swore to protect. I loved the camaraderie amongst the members of the team, it is like a great team should be. I was a little unsure about this book at first as the first few chapters were all about Kane and his SEAL team's mission in Yemen. It's to set up the situation in Oman, but it was a little more in depth than I needed. But as soon as they're in Oman and Kane meets A.J., the story picks up. One of the main reasons I loved this story is that Kane and A.J. are all kinds of awesome both individually and together. I adore smart, capable female main characters, and she's all but perfect. I do wish we learned a little more about her background over the course of the book, but even without, she's great.
Kane is her match in every way. They immediately strike sparks of each other, but even though there's instalove--which I typically hate--i just didn't mind it here. They're just so in tune, and it's fun to watch.
The setting--a huge arena that is the location for semifinal and final competition in an America's Got Talent type of show--is fun because it comes with a quirky cast of characters, many with oversized egos. I actually think more could have been done here.
As for the suspense, it ended up being a little bit disappointing because there are more screw ups than there should have been. I mean, I figured out how it was going to go down the minute the author first dropped the hint... Seems weird that two entire SEAL teams and one very smart executive producer missed it.
All that aside, I just adored this couple too much to drop anything more than a half star.

Her Ruthless Protector, the first book in the Night Storm series is brilliantly-written face-paced, action-packed military romantic suspense. Given the length of the audiobook, the plot is rich, flows smoothly, with clear and concise scene transitions. The storyline is entertaining and utterly engaging, with exciting action and HOT steamy scenes. The character development is phenomenal; I absolutely loved the men, their interactions and the banter was hilarious. Of course, my favourites were Kane and A.J, their connection is electrifying and the chemistry, charged.
Usually, I have a problem with the female leads, authors tend to make them dramatic with too many insecurities, and the snark becomes nothing but annoyance. A.J., in my opinion, is the ideal heroine, confident, efficient, intelligent, capable, fast with her come back and more than a match for Kane.

I requested and received this audiobook and I really liked it. I loved the camaraderie between the different characters (the opening scene was so funny) and it was a fantastic set up for the series. I really enjoyed the banter between AJ and Kane and the book was well paced with an exciting background story about an impending terrorist attack at a concert. The main characters were also well developed and fun- AJ was confident and smart- i love that she plays a role in helping to protect the attendees of the concert. And Kane is the alpha male, a bit typical, but what i loved was his interactions with the other characters which really brought the personality and humor into the story. Overall, really well done. The series is shaping up to be a good one!
Ryan West and Savannah Richards both did really well in the audiobook. I though Ryan West's female voice was pretty good while his male voice was very gruff but he may have intended it that way. I thought Savannah Richard's male voice got better as the book progressed (initially, I thought it sounded just a bit overdone and forced). However, they did a good job with the story so I enjoyed listening to their narration overall.

This was my first Caitlyn O’Leary book. I was impressed with how intriguing the military aspect was put into this book. I loved the military verbiage that was used as well. However, since this was my first book I was completely lost as to who was who and how many people I was introduced to so quickly in the book.
“One lifetime isn’t going to be enough for us, because I’m holding on for eternity.”
I love Kane and how he is a real man's man. There was a certain part in the book where he sprung to action where other men just stood around. AJ is a very strong woman and can hold her own with any Navy Seal!
“Why would I look at diamonds, when everything I’d ever dreamed of is in your eyes?”
Asher was another man in this series who was absolutely hilarious. I love Asher and would certainly read his book. He loves and I mean loves the reality TV Show Eurovision Song Contest which he watches with her mother.
This book is good if like you a lot and I mean a lot of action. If you prefer the romance in the romantic suspense, then this book may not be to your liking.

Kane is exactly what you would expect of a SEAL: strong, tough, and disciplined. AJ is intelligent, sassy, and able to hold her own with Kane. Together, they make a great team. That being said, I would have liked to see more chemistry and intimacy between them. A lot of other characters were also introduced, mostly the SEAL team, and at times I found it difficult to remember who everyone was.
The plot was interesting but a little slow moving despite the action. It was heavy on strategy and details while being short on romance. I generally enjoy a good military romance, especially when it involves a SEAL. However, I struggled and slogged through this one. It just did not hold my interest as much as I expected.
