Wow. The author is an INCREDIBLE person. What she's done is unbelievable. This audio book was so informative, I kept re-winding to re-listen to bits of it. I want to take one of her classes, even though my job doesn't involve interrogation (asking customers what they like to read doesn't count, lol), it is still helpful to have a strong communication skill set. We all need to be better communicators and listeners and this book will definitely help with that.

The narrator was very good. Clear with good volume consistency. So that was a big plus. It would have been slightly ironic if the narrator of a book involving communication did a poor job of communicating, but never fear, she did a great job.

5, this will be a re-listen over and over again and I highly recommend it, stars.

My thanks to libro.fm and HarperCollins Leadership for an ALC copy of this book to listen to and review.

For me, this book is 3.7 stars - the author writes the way she speaks, and so the book ends up being 50 pages more than needed. Also, I felt more examples from the world of job interviews would have been really helpful, though I can understand that given her role as an interrogator for the government, she cannot be allowed to reveal specific details.

The author has a great deal or experience and ideas to offer, especially if you are in law enforcement, or handling discipline issues or statutory compliance deviations in organizations. The experience doesn't help much if you are interviewing candidates for jobs (which I have done for 20 years in HR, as well as designed hiring systems and questionnaires for some of the organizations I have worked.).

The other reason that the rating moved to 3.7 stars is that the chapters on body language, negotiation skills and deceptive statements and answers were extremely worthwhile.
