This series is so very good ,there is violence but only when necessary to keep in line with the story plot. A thoroughly excellent and illuminating story with a moral message from Kat and the Crusaders.
A book about Duer, everyone's favourite pixie - what more could any Kat Drummond fan ask for? Also, Alex the War Cat may just be my new favourite character.
So Duer gets his own novella - and it’s pretty good, we learn if his life in the inbetween and how he n his pixie sisteren n brethren have settled in Cindy’s garden - but there’s evil afoot...
Another branch from the the part-time monster hunters tree
What can I say about a short story? Everything! Except it's pixie business *nods sagely* . So if ye don' be mindin' I'll be keepin' meself tae meself. *Hands on hips, non existent wings fluttering*. Ok, ok enough of that I got a little to caught up in the story there for a moment forgive me. While I have to agree that Duer is everyone's favorite pixie I'd have to say that Alex the battle cat is my new favorite feline. Just don't tell my cat Aziraphale is said that. I am so happy that Duer finally pulled that giant sized pixie stick out of his bum there at the end. You'll see what I mean, trust me.😁 Heh pixie stick did you see what I did there? Heh those that remember them will laugh, till they stop. Anyway can't wait for book 14 not that I'm rushing you Mr. Woode-Smith but you know...*looks at watch and taps foot*😜
This reminded me of Weis’ and Hickman’s kender adventures in Dragonlance. Full immersion into the non-human’s point of view without being filtered through the human experience.
This a great little side story to the Kat Drummond series. It show what can happen if a large group of very small people can do when faced with danger. Duer, the Pixie that always used to live with Kat, now lives with his Kinth in a tree in Cindy's garden. Danger comes and threatens everything. Duer learns a lot about his fellow Pixies, but most of all, learns a lot about himself.
A great short in the Kat Drummond universe. Duer has always been a fav. I really enjoyed this quick read about the pixies. Duer and the rest show that though small one can still pack a punch. These pixie’s will do whatever it takes to defend their home and friends. This amazing little read was truly entertaining and a pleasure to read.
Love it! Duer does as Duer does and he finally figure it out. Anything more would be a spoiler, but this is a beautiful little glimpse into the Pixies tree.
Duer a battle hardened pixie, still mourning the loss of his 1st mate Miri. Has found another pixie who loves him, Brivvy. She knows that she will never replace Miri, but she loves him. Together with their family battle a wraith, who is destroying Cindy’s home. A lot of destruction but they choose to stand, protecting Cindy’s home as well as their own. Together, knowing full well, they might all perish, they still chose to fight. Showing that you don’t need to be large, super magical, just a team with a common goal. Twisted, turning story, showing that you sometimes need to let the past rest in peace. So you can go forward, letting yourself enjoy the future.
This Kat Drummond short is primary about the Fae Pixie, Duer, but also Brivvy, Adair and the rest of the Pixie kinth. We also get a see some of Alex the cat. In this story, we learn a little more about how Miri's loss has effected Duer, but by the end of the story, SPOILER, he is finally moving on with Brivvy. We also get a chance to see the pixies stand-up and go to "war", showing their courage and ingenuity. Another worthy addition to the Kat Drummond series.
Short and sweet story. Was funny and interesting to see things from Duer's perspective. In my opinion this story is not as well written and the story line not as good as other Kat Drummond books, that is why I gave it 3 stars. Saying that, the Kat Drummond series is excellent in both story line and the way they are written.
Duet finally finds his way home but now he has to fight for it! So he, Alex the cat and pixie kinth join together to fight for their home and they plan to win! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This is a great story about Duer that takes place in the Kat Drummond series. You get to see how Duer thinks and interacts with all his kinth. And when an evil spirit invades his, I mean Cindy's, home he really takes charge! The pixies are a mighty force to reckon with!
This short story centers around and stars one of the longest companions of Kat, about whom we know the less: Duer! It’s a very gripping and moving story which does not need the other characters of the Katverse, and will leave you wanting for more of the same!
It is amazing how much love and anguish can be stuffed in so few words. The fight between good and evil is never ending and this was just a skirmish. I do recommend this story.
