Great ending to the Quicksand Series. Loved Omar and Dana’s story. The betrayal between his brother and ex-fiancé was unforgivable. Would like to read an update on all the couples in this series. Great job, as always, Delaney.
I enjoyed The Friend Zone, with Professor Dana Lindstrom and retired NFL player, Omar Bradford. The two hit it off when they met six years ago but the timing wasn’t right so they became friends. Their bond continued to grow over the years. Dana has always had feelings for Omar and we find out that the feeling is mutual. Dana and Omar are supportive and care about each other’s well-being. The question is, will they work as a couple? Omar feels he’s not good enough for Dana. For her part, Dana doesn’t think she’s Omar’s type and doesn’t think she can get used to his popularity. The physical attraction is there; it’s downright hot and steamy. There is a lot that happens on the road to HEA and there is a villain or two along the way. “Friends to lovers” is one of my favorite themes and I enjoyed the story line. It’s great to get updates on Layla and Tamika from the most recent “Quicksand” books. I also loved the relationship with Omar and his parents and of course Omar’s son, Prince. It must be torture to find oneself in the friend zone!
I knew from Layla and Tamika's stories that Omar and Dana were not fooling anyone but themselves. Their friendship reminded me of the friendship between Trenton and Allanah! So much in love and for whatever reason too scared to come clean with each other until they almost lost each other. I really enjoyed this story about love, hurt, betrayal, jealousy, deceit and then finding their way to each other despite what others close to them did to harm them! I didn't like Omar's brother for taking out on him the pain he felt thinking his mother rejected him for Omar! Just goes to show that as parents we must always be cognizant of how we treat our children. A really great story Delaney! I am glad Omar and Dana did not allow his ex and his brother to come between them. By the way, I had a feeling Sheldon was Cole, Omar's brother.
This is a beautiful end to the Quicksand series. I wanted to smack Omar's ex-fiancé for cheating on him but instead thank God she was caught, because otherwise he would have married the wrong person. Dana and Omar were best friends and had each other's backs, even though they were scared to admit they wanted more. Ms. Diamond touches on serious issues like sibling rivalry, choosing to not have children, being responsible for and raising siblings, as well as insecurities created by financial hardships in this book and really does a great job. I truly didn't want this book to end. Hopefully, she will write a short story, centered on the 6 main characters, to give us a glimpse into the future lives of all of her Quicksand series characters. One last thought: I seriously did NOT care for Omar's trifling big Brother. Cole is almost as bad as Jonathan Avery.
Delaney Diamond is one of my favorite authors. I've been waiting patiently for this book. It was worth the wait. I couldn't put the book down. Dana and Omar had an awesome relationship. Through all the heartbreak they were there for each other. I was glad to see Dana's friends from previous books helping to keep her on track. I have enjoyed all the books in the Quicksand series.
Unfortunately, this book was just okay to me. I like this particular author but this book didn’t deliver. The chemistry between Omar and Dana felt off, like it was being forced. Not every couple can make the transition from friends to lovers. They weren’t convincing as a couple, they lacked passion. However, the climax of the story was shocking, definitely didn’t see that coming. It’s the only reason why I gave the book a ⭐️⭐️⭐️rating instead of ⭐️⭐️.
What an amazing way end the,"Quicksand" series! I smiled, laughed, cheered, cried and enjoyed the scenes of love and friendship. The two giving characters that provided support for everyone. As always the author related a strong story where I could escape to Atlanta. The surprises, unexpected events that kept the movie interesting. There are so many themes that are treat and told with respect.
Yes, this story was a slow burn, but it was worth the wait. Friends to lovers are my go-to trope for a romantic vibe. In this story, Omar and Dana finally commit to a relationship after years of loving one another from a distance. Omar's ex was a piece of work, and his brother Cole was a jealous, bitter man. Omar and Dana's story, I was delighted they changed their relationship to a loving couple.
I personally loved the Quicksand Series! After each book, I thought "that was my favorite" but this book was my absolute favorite! I loved the story between Omar and Dana! I knew when they mentioned them that they weren't just friends, or it was going to make a turn! I loved that the last book was about them! I also loved the plus size/full-figure women reference that was made!
This story of Omar and Dana was so sweet and good. Their friendship meant the world to them, but their attraction to each other only grew stronger. This one touches the gear. Kudos Delaney on another great story. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👊🏽
While one reveal toward the end was predictable, I never expected the twist at the end! Omar and Dana have danced around each other for a couple of books now and this was a great friends to lover realization story.
Loved the story. His ex girlfriend should have told Omar that he wasn't the father of her son along time before. It's hard to believe that someone is jealous of you and they are family. Enjoyable read.
The best of the six. I knew when Sheldon first he and Cole were one in same and he was the person the wife sleeping with but fact he was the the baby's father took me by surprise.
Excellent read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Omar and Dana were friends for years. They are both attracted to each other, but don’t want to ruin their friendship. This is their love story.
The last 25% was a huge disappointment. The drama with his brother and ex-fiancée was totally unnecessary. A cheap way to make sure Omar was childless. Boo!
Cole is a mess. I have never read a story where an older brother is this vindictive. I'm glad that Omar and Dana acted on their attraction. Prince is a joy. He brought some character to the story.
Dana and Omar walked around love calling it friendship. A lot of heartache could have been avoided if they would have recognized it for what it was. I have read all of the Quicksand series and enjoyed them all.
