As the mechanic for Blackbridge Security, when I make a mistake things don’t work properly.
Correcting that mistake is the only way to get things operational.
I meet issues in my personal life with the same mindset.
How was I to know the woman I’ve been flirting with at the gym is the same woman I called a noise complaint on?

I have to start out by saying that I have enjoyed each and every book in this series to date and the one that steals each and every scene they are in is Puff Daddy, an African Grey Parrot that has the filthiest mouth ever, so when we are introduced to Evie, Kendall's Parrot, I couldn't be happier. Evie is so prim and proper the total opposite of Puff Daddy and they both had me in laughing like a loon.
Okay, now onto the good stuff....Hottie Finnegan Jenkins, with his Irish Brogue and flaming red hair really knows how to light a fire when it comes to Kendall Stewart.
Kendall is currently down on her luck, she is a single mom of three living with her brother after loosing her house, but she has a plan she's saving to purchase a new house for her and her children she just needs a little more time.
Finn works for Blackbridge Security and loves his job but what he's been loving even more these days is the time he gets to spend with his new neighbor in the building, Kendall, in the buildings gym...who says workouts can't be fun! But his evenings have gone from peaceful to anything but, he's convinced the guy across the hall from him has a bunch of animals living with him, so of course he calls and complains about it. OH LET THE FUN BEGIN!!!
I loved the chemistry between Finn and Kendall, I also loved the way the kids were with Finn each of them had their own brand of sass or snark and it was perfect. There of course is some other bad things happening in Kendall's life but with Finn at her side you know she's going to get her HEA.
If you enjoy Romantic Suspense, Close Proximity Romances, or Single Mom Romances I would recommend this book to you.

What a ride!!! I didn’t realize I was going to be laughing as hard as I did. Kendall and Finnegan’s banter is delicious! And there’s even two parrots that are hilarious as well. Loved the suspense too! It was a great book!

This was really sweet romance. Controlled Burn by Marie James follows Kendall, a single mom of three, who has too much on her plate. All she wants to do is keep her kids happy, and make sure there is a roof over their heads. That becomes hard to do when their next door neighbour has them evicted. Finn, said neighbour, has two things to look forward to these days: 1.) his job at Blackbridge Security; and, 2.) spending time with the hot babe at the gym. (spoiler alert: the 'hot babe' is Kendall). The single mom is on the brink of being homeless; meanwhile, the hot Irishman has extra space– whatever will they do?
For some reason, I've been gravitating towards single parent romances and this book was exactly what I love. The chemistry between Finn and Kendall is amazing– the flirting, the banter– everything. I also really enjoyed the kids (3!!) and their individual personalities, and the way they interacted with Finn.

For some reason, I've been gravitating towards single parent romances and this book was exactly what I love. The chemistry between Finn and Kendall is amazing– the flirting, the banter– everything. I also really enjoyed the kids (3!!) and their individual personalities, and the way they interacted with Finn.
We have to talk about the star of the book: Evie. Evie, the Parrot, is an absolute hoot. I did not expect to be laughing like a complete loon because of a fictional parrot (and her dirty-mouthed Parrot friend!).

This was a beautifully written story with wonderful characters.
Finn and Kendall's story has turned into one of my favorite couples in this ongoing series. Right from the beginning, we knew Kendall was going to be our favorite character that sass, her flirty personality, but, most of all, she was just an incredible mom and her antic's to get Finn's attention after the sh** hit the fan was priceless.
Finn surprised me, I have to say, thought he would be running for the hills after learning the woman he had when lusting for came with a ready-made family.
Loved Kendall and Finn as a couple, and we loved how he kept referring to the kids and Kendall has his and the kids his family and he would do whatever it took to protect them.
Overall we felt the story was heartfelt and endearing it made us laugh and those kids of Kendall's were remarkable and well as adorable and we also Kayleigh was extra special as she made us laugh time and time again. We love how naturally both Kendall and her kids wormed their way into Finn's heart so easily.
The end, just wow! The woman these Blackridge find that steals their heart are never easy and come with complications but, if you ask the men that have fallen, they wouldn't change a thing. Finn, you have now gone and dun it and made us fall in love with you.

Holy HOTNESS! Controlled burn is the sixth installment in the Blackbridge Security series by my girl Marie James, and I would venture to say it has become my favorite thus far! Here’s a hint ladies, GREY SWEATPANTS!!!
Finnegan Jenkins is the resident mechanic at Blackbridge Security, and loves his job and the men and women he works with. Another thing he loves? His quiet condo within a nice building where he could relax after a long day at work…oh, and the smokin’ hot blonde he’s been chatting up in the buildings gym. Finn could totally see himself falling for the playful woman, if only she’d let him. Who knew that calling in a noise complaint on a neighbor would upend his plans? Kendall Stewart is having a REALLY bad year. As if living with her brother in his small two bedroom condo with her three children after losing their home wasn’t bad enough, their jerk neighbor called the landlord with a noise complaint and now an eviction notice sits in her hands. When her brother accepts a job in Nevada, and moves out without notice, Kendall is left to pick up the pieces and find a place to live with only 48 hours to do it. Not gonna lie, she kinda loses her mind. One hilarious bomb threat and an emotional breakdown later, Kendall finds herself with one option. Move in with the man that caused this issue in the first place, her former neighbor and gym crush. Through the chaos, an unknown danger starts circling, and Kendall is firmly within someone’s sights. Can she keep the target off her back, and build a life with her family? Only if Finn has something to say about it.
This book was EVERYTHING! I absolutely adore Finn, Kendall, her kids, and Evie! Oh my GOSH, Evie is the best addition to the cast yet! The characters were well rounded, quirky, and oh so easy to love. Kendall was relatable, a single mom struggling to make a good life for her kids after life threw her a curveball. Finn was the perfect bachelor, and his sexiness was off the charts. Again, GREY SWEATPANTS! Evie and Puff were hilarious, and her addition to the group was epic! Honestly, I can’t put into words just how much I loved this book, and that ending??? Left my mouth hanging open and begging for more!

I am freaking addicted to the Blackbridge Security series by Marie James! Controlled Burn is freaking awesome and features Finn and Kendall. And true to the series, it is the perfect combination of sweet, steamy, with a dash of suspense thrown in! I adored Finn and Kendall and her kids and enjoyed seeing how everything played out from the start to the finish. I also love how it includes some of our favorite older characters and how much they bring to the story. All in all you cannot go wrong with this book and series and it is definitely one that you should check out!

I always love a great security series!
I always enjoy a good security story and this one did not disappoint.
I loved how this story ended for both Finnegan and Kendall.
I absolutely loved the bird puff daddy!
Narrators did a fantastic job telling this story.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
This is the 8th book in the Blackbridge Security series and I think it might be my favorite so far. How many single men are there left?
Finn is the mechanic of the team and loves the ladies, it doesn't hurt that he is Irish and has that sexy Irish accent that women seem to love. He noticed the new beauty in the building on the first day in the gym. He loves flirting with her but he can't afford to take it any farther because of what happened the last time he dated someone that lived in the same building.
Kendall is down on her luck. Living with her brother while she saves money to buy a home for her and her three kids is rough but she can do it. That is until the landlord tells her she has 48 hours to move out. Why can't she catch a break, always being kicked when she is down. Finn offers help and she takes it. Can these two keep their hands off each other or will the sizzle between the combust and they go up in flames?
And you can not forget Puff Daddy and Evie, the female bird brought into Puff's life and the fun begins for these two birds. You will laugh even harder than before with them. This series is worth reading but when you add a foul-mouth bird and a man-hating female bird you get a hilarious scene that makes this one story to read.
I love this series and as I said I think this is my favorite so far. This story is filled with suspense, a single mom, three rambunctious kids, a sexy Irish man, Puff Daddy, chemistry that turns into love for family. I highly recommend this whole series.

But, disaster strikes. Her kids were disrupting the neighbor and her brother gets an eviction! Now Kendall has to figure out where they are going to move to. To make matters worse, her brother has decided to move states!
Finn loves his job and his friends. He knows that he has a great gig. When the cute woman he sees in the gym flirts back, Finn can't wait to see where it might go. He has a life that any bachelor would dream of. But lately, his serene existence has been disrupted by thundering stampedes! He calls the landlord to see what it might be.
When Kendall realizes that it was her fun and flirty gym companion who got her and her kids kicked out of the building, she can't stand it. Why do all men suck?
As Finn realizes his own mistake, he offers Kendall a different alternative to the streets or homeless shelters. They have to figure out a way to make sure that the kids are taken care of and that Kendall's ex stays in the past.

This is the 8th book in the Blackbridge Security Series that can be read as a standalone but my suggestion would be to start at the beginning. Many of the characters move throughout the series and it gives a family feel to the relationships.
Finn has been seen all along as the resident safe cracker. With his flaming red hair and his Irish brogue. He has been know along the way as the happy to be single and floating from woman to woman when the need arose. Not really looking for more as of yet, but you never know when that might change. He enjoys his home of luxury that is part of the perks of the job, but isn't super happy when the apartment across the hall starts to get a little rowdy.
Kendall is doing everything she can to rebuild her life after he ex has left them high and dry. She is the best momma to her twins and younger boy. Working evenings and saving everything she can in the search of a new home for them. It seems that she just keeps getting knocked back down. When her brothers landlord gives them an eviction notice and he then decided he is moving to another city for work. She has days to sort things out.
Finn and Kendall met in the complex gym working out. Which they both seem to enjoy. Some fun flirting in the beginning, which quickly turns to distrust. Can Finn work his way back into her life. Does he really want to be there when she has so much baggage? Could she be the one that make him finally want more from life?
Not a much suspense in this book as some of the others in the series. But as a series reader, I was already invested and glad that I read their story too.

Kendall is single mother of three rambunctious adorable tiny humans, whose life isn't exactly going smoothly at the moment. Her baby daddy is completely useless who no one has seen for a cool minute now. Oh, and her last landlord sold the house from under her so she ends up at her older brother's condo. I really didn't like her brother because he came off very selfish when it came to her & the help she needed (especially since he was all she had). Finn works at Blackbridge Security who likes his peace at home, so when he hears all the chaos of Kendall's kids (he didn't know it was her), he reports the noise which leads to Kendall's brother being evicted along with Kendall & family. This is when Kendall's brother really proved himself selfish since he left her to find her own way while signing away the 30 day notice so he could get his deposit back. It just so happened that Finn ended up taking them in & the new journey began. This story had heat, angst, and twists around the corner, but the humor was my favorite, as Puff Daddy got a girlfriend named Evie, and I couldn't stop laughing at them together. So yeah, you need to hit those one click buttons to see how it all plays out as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

She finds herself homeless once again with minimal options but before she leaves she is about to make her opinions clear to her interfering neighbor.

When he finds out that the woman he has been attracted to is the woman he unknowingly has put out on the street he makes amends by allowing her and her children to stay with him and that is when the mayhem really begins!

I love Irish male leads .. Finnegan is the team's mechanic, and he's been flirting pretty heavy with Kindall at the building's gym. She's moved in with her brother when she lost her house, with her 7yr old twins, and 5 yr old son.
Finn is annoyed by the neighbors noise, not able to stand it any longer ... he files a complaint with the condo owner. Not realizing it's Kindall's apartment.
Her brother's already over her staying with him, and he makes a dick move by taking a job in Las Vegas ... leaving her a week to find another place to stay. She kind of looses her mind and heads to BBS with a fake bomb to confront Finn. Not knowing how to handle crazy and freaks when she cries ... he offers his place as an option!
Imagine his surprise when she takes him up on it! He falls hard, and she's got one foot out the door. She makes some really bad decisions that has Finn and the guys running to the rescue!

From the first book, I'm immediately obsessed with it. If you loved AK Evans' Cunningham Security or Archer Tactical, then you're going to love this series. I know I do and every single book is just amazing. It's worth binge-ing if you haven't read any of the books. You'll get sucked into it in no time.
This is Finn's story and he met his match! His and Kendall's story is an enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity storyline with adorable kids and you wouldn't believe this, but Puff Daddy also met his! I had fun reading their story all the way to the end. The only thing though is it doesn't have an epilogue but it does tease what's going to happen in the next book. And I can't wait for it.

Controlled Burn was a good story, a strong addition to the Blackbridge Security series. Marie James did a good job on the book, the plot was written well, it was filled with many emotions, Finn and Kendall were strong characters. Kendall and Finn's journey may have had many ups and downs along the way but they were strong, they were made for each other. The connection between the two was strong, their chemistry was sexy, they were good together.
I enjoyed this story, it was good. Thank you, Marie James. Good work :)

Finn is a sexy Irishman, a wiz at cracking safes and has a big heart. Kendall is down on her luck and a mother of three darling children. One mishap and Finn offers to let Kendall and her children live with him. He didn’t ever want kids but hers are growing on him. Finally, finally Puff Daddy finds his mate!! The story is full of laughs, drama and some tears. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

I borrowed Controlled Burn ~ Blackbridge Security ~ Book 8, by Marie James, author from the Kindle Unlimited Program on Amazon.
Finnigan 'Finn' Jenkins is the safe cracker for Blackbridge Security with a delightful Irish accent and dark red hair. He meets Kindal Stewart in the gym of the building where he lives and starts a friendship.
A call to complain about the apartment across the hall, an eviction, and Kindal and her three kids move in with him bringing a new way of life to Finn. She also brings issues from her past that brings trouble into their almost family.
Finn with Wren's help and the rest of the guys solve the problem and Finn fixes it, to bring them to becoming a real family and the confirmed bachelor couldn't be happier.
PS: Puff Daddy finds love too with Evie, a female small parrot that hates men and talks like a proper old lady to Puff Daddy's dirty one and it is hilarious.

This one surprised me with how cute and funny it was.
Single mom with 3 kids and an adorable MMC.
I was pretty annoyed that she acted like she was about to be homeless and moved in with the MMC. Then, later in the book she was kidnapped and told them she had 13K in her bank account but could only take out $3,500 each day. Seriously!?! Who had 13K sitting in their bank account but claims they don’t have enough money to get their own place? She acted like things were horrible, yet they weren’t that bad IMO.

Really GET Hooked on a GREAT AUTHOR
I'm on the 2nd Series of the Blackbridge Security Series, and I am so HOOKED on This Author, I may go bankrupt so that I can read as many as I can. I'm getting close to 79 years old, with health problems. But I'm Stubborn. I'm going to fight to make it through as many as I can. Just read even 1 and you will see what I mean. Oops , Adults Only.

One of My Favorites!
I love Finn! Omg do I ever?! At first I thought it a little odd she just forced herself and three kids to live with a stranger practically and couldn’t help but roll my eyes but as the story continued and Finn stepped into his father role I fell in love with both main characters! I’m telling you, all of Marie James’ books need tv series so the stories can continue longer.

great book
Bad boy didn’t think he would want to settle down or want kids here come cute girl and not only does he get her evicted (by accident cause he doesn’t realize it’s the cute girl from the gym) but she has 3 kids that he falls for as well

Goodness, I do not think I could love this story more than I already do. Oh yeah, I can... listening to it on audible and hearing Jacob Morgan using a sexy accent. This is a non-stop thrilling, passionate and absolutely charming journey to go on with Finn, Kendall and her kiddos. This confirmed bachelor was taken down by a feisty, independent woman with a beautiful soul. I adored this story.

I just love these characters. Kendall is a single mother who lives in Finnegan's apartment. Kendall is put in rough position and Finn offers to help. But their attraction for each other grows. He'll do anything to protect his family. On to the next book.

Good book
Started off strong with Kendall going to BBS with a fake bomb strapped to herself.
I liked the plot of the story and the fact that the big problem was more then just miscommunication (there were definitely insecure thoughts and doubts by both parties) but that wasn’t what cause the “break up”
