The book blurb pretty much says it all. I highly recommend reading the first book before tackling this one. This one gave me the shivers thinking of the things he did to the family that once loved him. And to think .. he was a cop at the time of his crimes.
This is a great read for anyone who really likes true crime. It's well written and the reader can feel the fear, the tension rising off the pages.
Many thanks to the author / Wild Blue Press for the digital copy of this true crime. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
Raging On. Very Compelling and Detailed Story. This is an eye opener of a book and is the second book Raging On in the series by author Paula May who does a great job picking up and retelling the story of how she and her crew go after a double murderer called L.C. Who was a policeman?
This is the true story of an extremely dangerous, manipulative, and jealous criminal who was very charming but showed his true nature in ways that made women miserable and fearful for their lives as he stalks and manipulates any women he comes into contact with. Paula May reveals a detailed investigation from a first-person perspective that will leave you shaking your head at how depraved one person can be.
The atrocious behaviour of this bad cop, and the tremendous amount of pain he caused, makes one glad he spends the rest of his days in prison. Very chilling to see the detailed viewpoint into the suspect's mindset, and how his actions terrify a number of people not only his victim’s family’s but both police and anyone who comes into contact with L.C. Case for many years to come.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys true crime stories. It is a remarkably interesting with great detail, making it extremely easy to follow along with the story especially if you have not read the first book First Degree Rage. I really enjoyed reading it and I strongly recommend this book to true crime fans. Best true crime book I have read in a long time. Paula writes in a way that I could not wait to find out what happened. I felt that the author’s constant plugging of her faith was inappropriate in a nonfiction true crime book, so I gave a 4* instead off a 5* I received an advance review copy for free from Wildblue Press and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I read the first book of this series, titled First Degree Rage: The True Crime Story of 'The Assassin,' An Obsession, and Murder. This LC Underwood is a real piece of work, and this is an incredible story written by a detective who led the team that brought him down. You’ll be amazed at everything he’s accused an suspected of in his reign of crime. A well written story I enjoyed a lot, in the true crime genre.
I found this story fascinating. This is the true story of murderer L.C. Underwood and the terror he caused in the lives of many people. Written by the lead investigator in the case it's in a very personal perspective and interwoven with the authors faith. It doesn't lay out the story like a typical true crime book.
The crime took place very near to me and I've been to the area many times. That makes it even more scary for me personally.
L.C. was a police officer who's troubling behavior was known by his superiors and overlooked by the "good ole boys club". He was a narcissist who seemed to feel he deserved respect and got very angry when he felt he didn't get it. He terrorized and stalked many women and when they tried to get away threatened and beat them.
He was only convicted of one murder but committed two that is known of. I personally wonder if there isn't more that was never linked to him.
I want to mention that this crime has been covered three times by tv shows.

This should not have been a stand alone book, it should have been a part of the first book. Other than wrapping up a few loose ends, it was all bible and faith based rhetoric. Btw, the reason the episode of New Detectives was titled For Love or Money was because there were three different stories. The author didn't understand this, I'm clarifying. This book was not worth the price paid.
I really did like the true story, and the writing was excellent, very impressive, but I felt like the story dragged on and on, and I wasn't real tempted to pick it up again. That's why I dropped the rating to four stars. I have started on another of Paula May's books and am appreciating it more.
