A tearjerker with a complex conspiracy at its core

Best so far
I have really enjoyed this series. The characters are well developed and unique in their quirks, which really enhances the plot and series development. Each book has improved. I don’t love all of Ricki‘s choices but why would I? We don’t love real people‘s choices so it seems appropriate to find some character traits irritating. I mean, let people help you, Ricki; but I guess that the reality is that most of us push back against putting people out or wanting to do things exactly the way we want things done. Seems realistic characterization to me. Definitely recommend reading the series.

Amazing book! Special Agent Ricki James works across many agencies such as DEA, FBI, local Police as well as her assigned Olympic Park in Washington. It’s tough to raise a son, work with an ex-husband as a partner in business, own a diner that suffered burns, and, work each and every day to catch the bad guys. Ricki does it and takes each case seriously. When her best friend in all her life is killed, she is devastated and promises to find who killed Marie. I smiled, I cried, I read on into the night to see The End. I felt I raised a glass to Marie also, and toasted “To friends.”

C.R., you did it again !!
I always try to figure out the "answer to the puzzle" or "who dun it" as early as possible !! My first thought was Dr. Blake, but that was just because he's so weird !! Then I thought it was Redman ! Nope, not him either !! Too many to choose from, C.R. !! In the end I was truly surprised !! Just an exciting and excellent Read !!
This book challenged me to keep track of the different characters (because there were so many different crimes uncovered).
Thank You, Again, C.R. !! As usual, as I finish one of your books, I want more !!!

A fantastic story and series
This was an intense, extremely complex, and suspenseful thriller that will hook you from beginning to end. With heartbreaking situations, emotional turmoil, and devastating tragedies, it's going to take all of these law enforcement officers to finally figure out what happened to Agent James, her best friend/co-worker, and all of the others who have been murdered by this mysterious organization. It's certainly not a story or series to be missed!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.

Ricki, mother, friend, lover and one strong agent!!!
It has to be a book that really “gets to me” for me to give a 5 star rating! And this book did! Ricki is a character that is strong in all the good ways, but not afraid to deal with areas that need improvement ! As she takes on the task of finding out the truth of her best friend’s death in the line of duty, she finds that corruption is widespread! Who can she trust?

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS…
CR Chandler has done it again. I even shed a few tears on this one. The MCs on the good side are heroic, fascinating people with foibles as well. You want to root for them every step of the way.
I’m about to start on the next in the series, number four. I’m so glad the original problems have been resolved from the first book in the series.
I highly recommend this book, and you’ll want to get all the books in the series. I promise you’ll love them as I do.

Who knew
One would think working for the National Parks Agency would be such a huge undertaking. Contending with hikers and campers is bad enough but add to that with murders, drug cartels and even crooked agents. It all makes for a wild ride. Intense and a real puzzle to unravel.

Another Good One
Does needs some editing for errors.
Answers what happened to Marie.
New, strong characters introduced.
Action packed and moves fast.
Hard to figure out who the bad guys really are.
Rikki and Clay's relationship needs to move along, getting a bit boring, for this day and age.

Fantastic amazing series
When I began reading, all of a sudden I was in the story. Characters so real, I knew them personally. Plots so terrific and unguessable, I couldn't put the books down till 2 or 3 am. I read them in 1 day. Cant put them down cant wait for the next one. Keep writing and since I'm retired I'll keep reading. 20 Stars for this series.

I have enjoyed getting to know all of the characters in this series. The books are written exceptionally well and are very engaging from the beginning. I highly recommend this series and look forward to many more additions to it.

I love this series, each book better then he last. Wholesome yet packed with adventure, and always a good case that needs solving. I am looking forward to the next one already, but not without asking you first, what are you waiting for? Read this book!

well written, enjoyable.
I enjoyed the book. It seemed like there are a lot of characters to keep track of. Although helpful discreet hints are given. Lots of good people die. Kind of sad. But the antagonists get taken care of.

Outstanding!
Ricki James good friend Josh is killed in San Antonio. He washer best friend Marie’s fiancé. As she investigates will she finally solve Maria’s murder too? Good characters but I am not a fan of Clay the local police chief who is starting to date Ricki.

Since I have not read the previous books in this series I was behind on some of the characters. I plan to rectify that. This is a solid law enforcement read. Several different agencies hunting down a killer and finding a crook in their own agencies.

Great suspense thriller! The characters are strong kick butt people. I love the group/ family that surrounds Ricki. I hope they all continue to be in the future books, hopefully they will keep coming!

Great Read
This was an exciting and complicated story that left you hanging until almost the end before you knew who the bad guys were. I enjoyed the interweaving of the characters that made them appear real. I found this to be an outstanding novel, the kind that I enjoy reading,
