Rate this book
What if the Loveladies lagoons on Long Beach Island, New Jersey, originally dug by actual Soviet spies, were used today as a conduit for espionage?Miranda Craig’s summer at the shore is disrupted by the death of a neighbor, subsequent noise of his children’s huge construction project and her unrelenting questions that she feels are short of paranoia. What did the dead man do for the CIA, could her next door neighbor be a Nazi in hiding and are there still Russian spies in Loveladies? She wonders if there is a connection between the spyware found on her computer and those of other residents in her elite shore town, to the Ukrainian hack of 2015 and the recent tampering with the Presidential election. With the help of another neighbor Liz, the two unravel a complicated plot and a frightening realization that the new Cold War is potentially more deadly and closer to home.

Keslie Patch Bohrod has been telling stories since grade school, when her award-winning essay “The Human Jefferson” was published in The Daughters of the American Revolution Magazine. After earning degrees in Psychology/Social Work and an advanced degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, she built a career in consulting, corporate quality management, and research before returning to her first love—writing.

Her debut thriller, Loveladies Ennui, introduces readers to Miranda Craig, a woman whose seemingly ordinary life on the New Jersey shore takes dangerous and unexpected turns. The follow-ups, Deadly Deposit, was released in 2021, Up Oyster Creek Without A Paddle (June 2022), Shell Shock (August 2023), Intestinal Fortitude (May 2024) and most recently, A Swarm of Drones (August 2025).

A longtime summer resident of Long Beach Island, Keslie now calls Loveladies her home away from home, where coastal life—and the shadows that come with it—inspire much of her fiction. She lives with her husband, Bill, with their two grown children visiting frequently.
