How can she get him to stop running long enough to realize he's her freakn' mate?
Francine's loved Mitchell, a wolf like herself, since she first set eyes on him back when they were both just kids. However, Mitchell's never seen her as anything more than his sister's best friend. Determined to make him realize he's her mate, she enlists the aide of Alejandro, a gorgeous cat shifter. She never counted on wanting them both.
Alejandro knows Francine is special from the first moment he meets the fiery plump wolf, which is why he suggests she use him to make Mitchell jealous. A great plan, especially if it means he gets to kiss her luscious lips. One taste, though, and he's addicted, but how does he make her see past the man she loves to realize she's also meant to be his mate?
For a long time now, Mitchell's been avoiding Francine, his bratty sister's friend. However, the little girl he remembers is all grown up, and when he sees her in the arms of another, a need to claim her overrides all his common sense. But, he's waited too long and fate has decided that he's going to have to share. Can he bend enough to accept Francine with her other man, or will his freakn' jealousy send him running?
See what happens when a pigheaded man is subjected to a dose of jealousy--and a kick in the ass.

Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
So how much do I luuuurve Eve’s books. Enough not to beat Mitchell over the head with a cast iron skillet!! (and he deserved it) We started off with Naomi’s baby shower which just tickled me to no end because she is one of my all time favorite heroines. I love keeping touch with all my old friends from previous books. It’s here we discover that Mitchell is intent on being a tool. We also discover how incredibly luscious that Javier’s brother Alejandro is. Grrrrr. Here kitty, kitty…..
The humor, unparalleled snark and mind blowing erotica are all in full force in Jealous and Freakin’. I could somewhat understand Mitchell's initial MAN reaction. Mate? Ahhhh, run, run like the wind. And if said mate is your sister's best friend whom you watched grow up....... Ahhhh, run faster!! But once you start experiencing insane jealousy and throwing wood every five minutes, it's time to concede the battle. Mitchell fought his feelings harder than Pat Robertson at a gay rights rally.
I was totally in love with Alejandro though. I do adore a man who doesn't mind sharing. Although he had a couple of MAN moments at the thought of a mate. Really boys, it's biology. Francine rocked throughout the whole book. She did her thing and let the testosterone carriers handle their own baggage. I'm glad everything was worked out to everyone's satisfaction (pun intended). You couldn't find a more fun read or a better gift for that hard to buy for friend than this spicy little book. It's guaranteed to take your mind off the cold.
In this sequel to Delicate Freakn' Flower by the awesomest Eve Langlais. We follow Francine....best friend to Naomi. Every since she was a child, she knew Mitchell(Naomi's brother) was her mate. But he's always seen her as a sister. Even when she developed into a teenager and then an adult he's avoided Francine like the plauge. Then she runs into the goregous cat shifter Alejandro and her wolf recognizes him as her mate as well.
Alejandro is brother to Javier(one of Naomi's mates) and prides himself as being a playboy. He loves women...epecially taken women. He's on the run from some crazy hunter who found out that he slept with his daughter. But when he runs into Francine he forgets everything and wants nothing more than to claim her. His beast recognizes her as his mate. Desperate to see her happy, he proposes that he and Francine pretend to be a couple to make Micthell jealous so he will recognize his feelings for her are in no way sisterly. But a game of pretend has them both wondering...is this real? Is Mitchell really her mate? And if so...will Micthell stop being such a stubborn ASS and admit his feelings for Francine
One of my favorite scenes from this book was definitely the "fake" kiss in front of her job.
Lightning struck, leaving him dazed, but even in his befuddled state, which had his cat yeowling, he remembered how to move his mouth against hers. To grasp her lower lip between his and suck on it until she panted. A sane man would have broken off the kiss at that point, but unfortunately all reason seemed to have fled him. He didn’t stop, instead, he pressed his hard thigh against her core, which straddled him, and licked the seam of her mouth, tasting her.
Need her. Need to claim her. Fuck her. Mark her. Oh shit.
Before he could bend her over and take her, damn anybody watching, he released her, and she stumbled back. God, she looked so beautiful with her face flushed, lips swollen, and he could hear her heart pounding even over her huffing breath. He wanted to drag her back to him. Kiss her again. Take her somewhere and make love to her until her nails raked his back and she begged him to mark her. To keep her forever.
I am in so much fucking trouble. “See you in a little while,” he managed to say through his growing panic. It killed him to ignore the disappointment that clouded her expression along with the confusion—and lust, lust for him, not Mitchell.
Straightening her spine, she threw him a feeble smile. “Well, that wasn’t so bad. At least I don’t want to throw up like I did with Ken a few years back. Of course, in his defense, I’d downed a lot of Sex On The Beach shooters. But next time, mind groping me a little more? No one’s ever going to believe we’re madly passionate about each other with your hands not even grabbing my ass. I mean, seriously. You’ll have to do better.”
I swear Francine was sooo wrong for that one...she was definitely feeling that kiss. But her unwillingness to seem vulnerable and easy she decided to bust his balls instead. I thought it was funny as hell!
I love love loved this one! Francine was almost as foul-mouthed as Naomi...and it was awesome! There were a lot of things that pissed me off with Mitchell. He was soooo stubborn. He really avoided Francine as much as he could. I mean...this fucker made an art out of, how to allude a horny she-wolf...LOL! He was such an ass. To me, when he first realized that he wanted Francine and they decided to give it a shot...he just got worse. And it was unfair of him to try and make Francine choose. But in the end they got it togethr..thank GOD! Alejandro....he was utterly delicous. Devious, sexy and all Alpha. Just how I like em..LOL!
Once again, Eve has a winner here! All of her books are tons of fun and sexy as hell. Can't wait to read Already Freakn' Mated..I know it will be awesome as well!
Huuummm, this was one of those times when a fated mate/mating bond did NOT seem like such a good idea, because Mitchell was an ASS. I had zero sympathy for the guy, and Francine would have been much better off with just Alejandro. The cat ruled this one, both in term of seductive quality and in the humor/flirting department.
“I’ll bring some Chinese for dinner. That is if the cat(shifter) here isn’t afraid one of his relatives is part of the menu.” Mitchell flashed a grin full of teeth that made Alejandro laugh as he shrugged off the implied insult. “Cats are never averse to eating pussy,” he replied." (See what I mean?;-)
Kudos to Eve for the pet name Red, though. Even though it was Red doing the chasing and not the big bad *cowardly, cough, cough* wolf.
Langlais’ story is both sinfully hot and absolutely hilarious without ever being ridiculously over the top. The plot comes to life full of danger and suspense but also with romance and chemistry. The world is developed in such a manner that it’s easy to immerse yourself into while falling in love with the characters that Langlais develops.
The dynamic between Francine and Naomi was hilarious. I love how solid their friendship was. But it was definitely topped by the intricate yet difficult dynamic between Francine, Alejandro, and Mitchell. This ménage was interesting to read about, especially because of Mitchell. He’s unruly and impossible to reason with for reasons that even he can’t explain. All the while Francine & Alejandro are trying to make everything so much easier.
I love how Langlais can make me laugh while also making me fall in love with her fantastic characters. This is definitely a one of a kind novel.
You know how when a girl has two awesome men to choose from and even us as readers have such a hard time trying to decide who we like more? Well Eve Langlais loves us and doesn't make us make such a tough decision, she gives us them both!!!
Francine has known Mitchell was her mate since childhood, and has chased him since. But Mitchell refuses to see her as anything more then a "sister" since she is his sisters best friend. He starts going out of his way to avoid her. Then in walks Jag and he takes notice to Francine and this awakens Mitchell's jealous side.
I loved Jag and Francine together, he can definitely keep up with her banter. Jag realized she was special from the moment he met her and they both have this instant connection. He even goes out of his way to try and help her win Mitchell. I was almost like Mitchell who?? But knowing how much Francine loved Mitchell he still held that special spot with me. Mitchell finally sees what he is about to miss out on and comes to his senses, but now instead of getting her to himself he will have to share because Francine has met her other mate.
Its not an easy 3 some love story. Mitchell doesn't like sharing. Jag will do whatever to make Francine happy and once Mitchell sees how hard it is on her, he does what he can to make her happy!
I loved Jealous and Freakn'! It was insanely hot, had such a sweet romance and there were a lot of things for the three of them to over come. Eve Langlais always knows how to deliver some awesome sexin! This story kept me glued to it and I finished it one sitting! Definitely book porn shelf-ability worthy!!
Jealous and Freakin' is the second book in the Freakin' Shifters series by Ms. Langlais. Having read the first one, Delicate Freakin' Flower, I would say that both can be read as a stand alone novel. As you can see from the synopsis, this book does involve some menage scenes. They were beautifully and tastefully written. I liked the characters, especially Alejandro. Once he figured out what he wanted, he went all in to get it for himself. I like that in a man. Mitchell, I will admit, had to grow on me. I'm also not sure I am convinced of the harmony between the trio in the end. I liked the trio's relationship in the first book, more.
The shifter world that Ms. Langlais has set up is a great one. I like the sense of community among the shifters and how they set up their environments. I like the idea that they pretty much know instantly who their mate is that fate has set them up with, whether they chose to accept it or not. I would like to know more about the shifters and how they become who they are. Like, what kind of animal would a wolf and a bear make? Can a human be transformed? Maybe in later books...
This is a great addition to the series and I look forward to the next book, Already Freakin' Mated, coming in spring of 2012.
This book was awesome! I love this series There was a lot of Naomi in this book – And of course Ethan and Javier with their only purpose in life is to make her feel like a Delicate Freakin’ Flower :) She is so funny though – Her BFF – Francine is anything but a Delicate Freakin’ Flower, but she’s not a hard and over Confident girl either. She is a perfectly normal Wolf shifter
She grows up as a BFF with Naomi, so of course she knows everything about her family life. She has known that Naomi’s Older brother Mitchell was her mate since she was 10 years old, but Mitchell didn’t acknowledge her claims. Since they grew up together, all his feelings of protection seemed to blur together as nothing more than being like a little sister.
We start off with Francine’s car breaking down on the way to Naomi’s baby shower… she could shift into her wolf, but then carrying The baby shower gift was going to be a little hard, so what to do??
When out of nowhere she hears the purr of a motorcycle approaching. It pulls over. There is no way she’d be able to carry the gift while Riding on that thing. Without seeing any other choice, she took his offer to have him balance the gift with her holding onto his waist.
And the Innuendos begin.. “Are you sure I’ll fit? “ She owned panties with more crotch room than that bike offered” “just hold on tight, baby, and I’ll do the rest”
That was when her inner canine wanted to sniff the stranger up and down and follow it up with a lick.. that was strange, her wolf only acted like that when Mitchell was around. Besides, she’s already got her mate.. well kind of. Once Mitchell acknowledges her as his mate, she’ll be taken, so what’s got her wolf all excited about this stranger?
Looking out the window, Mitchell is anxiously waiting for Francine to show up. Not because he’s interested in her of course, but because he needs the head start out the back door. Francine had Been chasing Mitchell since he could remember. Knocking him down and pinning him down, trying to get him to admit she was his mate. But she’ like a sister to him. That’s Pretty gross. After high school, Mitchell went his own way and avoided Francine. He knew things wouldn’t change, so what happened when he saw her pull up on the back of a motorcycle, hugging Another man? She didn't look like a little kid with pigtails and braces anymore.
Mitchell stalks down to Francine and demands she tell him what she’s doing with this cat – “whatever happened to “Hi Francine? Or “How’s it going Francine?” Annoyed that she would ride around on a motorcycle without a helmet with her new boyfriend .. “he’s not my boyfriend, Although, if he were, what we did together would be no one of your business.” “and might I add, we’d do some very INTERESTING things.” The Tanned biker said.
And the fists started flying. I loved how Naomi came out of the house to see why Javier’s younger brother Alejandro and her stupid brother were fighting in her front yard, and just casually striking up a conversation With Francine. “Ethan, they’re going to crush my pretty flowers” Naomi barked , just as Ethan grabbed the fighter’s by the arm and yanked them apart *Sigh* I still love Ethan! The Big hugs Kodiak Teddy Bear :)
OK so back to the story, We now met Alejandro, who seems to stir up emotions in Francine, as well as jealousy in Mitchell, So when after Mitchell stalks off and everyone else resumes to the shower, Francine is a mix of emotions. And so is her wolf.
When she leaves with Alejandro to go home, Mitchell is waiting for them. Since he was acting like an idiot, Francine decided to go home with Alejandro instead of Mitchell. Mitchell went burzerk again And Francine announced she had offered her couch to Alejandro, so it only made sense that he take her home.. and they left.
At Francine’s apartment, Alejandro comes in for a beer, not really expecting to sleep over, their innuendo’s get stronger and stronger, and funnier and funnier :) Alejandro had noticed that Mitchell was acting more out of jealousy than big brotherly type, so he offered himself up to Francine to try to get Mitchell to notice her more. With the help of him being her new boyfriend. “And what do you get out of this?” “A Place to stay, A chance to needle my brother, among others. And in the pursuit of our answer to Mitchell’s affection, make-out time with a hot redhead”
So everyone wins, right?
This was a cute story , I personally didn’t love Mitchell, I think he was too stubborn, Maybe if we had some flashbacks or something from them growing up, or something, more about their childhood Together. I just wasn’t feeling the WHY she was so headstrong over Mitchell. Sure her wolf went crazy whenever he was around, but .. I don’t know –
I do love Alejandro though! He’s so hot, and sexy, and funny! WOW! I love how quick witted these two are. But Alejandro is a Seducer of women. Lover with excellent techniques, Good looking, and He won’t make a promise to a women, and he doesn’t stick around very long afterwards. But when his inner cat tries to claw it’s way out whenever Francine was around, he was starting to re-think his ways…
There was great action, tender love, and lots of sweaty hot sex :) Awesome story!
What. The. Hell. ?! The first book was so sweet and enjoyable! Strong heroine, sweet guys. This book is the opposite. Heroine was kind of annoying. Loud, brash & crass. AND she was a doormat!!
Francine is a werewolf who has known her best friend's brother (also a werewolf) Mitchell is her mate since they were kids. AND since they were kids, Mitchell has done everything to avoid her and deny he is her mate. I can't recall if the book ever mentions Francine's age, but I think she is mid/late 20's. So through out their teens, Francine has been pining for Mitchell, begging him to claim/love her and he's done everything to get away from her and avoid her, especially for the past 5 years.
I realize they are werewolves and in this 'world', a mate is something that can't be changed...but to me, Mitchell's behavior doesn't deserve more begging and love. (sigh)
Francine runs into Alejandro going to her best friend's baby shower. Alejandro recognizes Francine as his mate and she is strongly attracted to him. Alejandro only EVER wants to make Francine happy and love her, even if it means sharing her with Mitchell. Mitchell, on the other hand continues pushing Francine away, but also becoming a jealous asshole. He fights his attraction to Francine and says hurtful things. Eventually Francine gets shot and her home vandalized by Mitchell's current skanky girlfriend.
Meanwhile, this whole time Francine is still hoping & pining away for Mitchell while enjoying Alejandro's attention. Even when Mitchell begins to come around, he's still got hangups about sharing Francine with Alejandro. This causes Francine more suffering that Mitchell of course, doesn't notice.
You can see it's heading to a menage, but that Mitchell doesn't suffer really chapped my ass. He's the first one that gets to 'mark' Francine and his constant mantrums got old quick.
This sizzling number is certifiably an entertaining read.
Francine has been waiting her Mitchell, her bff's brother, to recognize her as a mate. However, he sees her as only a sister but with five years to pass by Francine is grown. The image of her as his kid sister is long out dated and he can not believe the mating frenzy that hits him dead in the face. Actually, come to find or read he actually had feelings for her prior but the mating bond was not as pressing and could be easily ignored. I thoroughly enjoyed reading his jealous actions... so much fun. Alejandro on the other hand is enjoyable right off the bat and does little to deny the bond calling, he encourages it. Self-proclaimed player and proud of it, has the mating frenzy bad to the bone. His quick tongued innuendos is a perfect match for just as fiery, Francine. Reading them battle it out with words is Eve's major success.
Alejandro and Mitchell, differ one another well enough that there is no confusion as to who is who. It also makes for a diversified story. All in all, this installment is more so lusty romance with a focus on the relationship verses ample world-building conflict so if you are a romance fiend this is your read. The entertainment quality earned the 5 stars rating.
I usually love this authors stories, she generally manages to inject humour along with the sex scenes. But this time I couldn't quite connect with all the characters except for Alejandro. Mitchell was a complete repressed ass, there was never a proper explanation why he had always denied that Francine was his fated mate, the fact that she was best friends with his sister, and that was his reason didn't cut it for me. Overall this was one of those stories that I found irritating.

Warning: Excessive amounts of heat may be generated when reading this story. Do not sit or stand near flammable objects unless they happen to be your partner. Please note, that while the heroes sustained injuries during the course of the story, Francine did eventually kiss them all better, naked of course. This is a ménage romance, with heavy emphasis on the romance. It does contain multi partner, sexual situations that some people may find titillating. Reader discretion is advised.
Review: Being best friends with his sister, Mitchell has thought of Francine like a sister for many years. Francine along with everyone else knows Mitchell is destined to be her mate. What they don't know is that she is destined to have 2 mates, the other being Alejandro. Once Alejandro enters the picture, things start to heat up and Mitchell starts looking at Francine differently. This book drew me in from the start. I was fortunate to have read the first installment in this series so it was nice to revisit old friends but this book stands well on its own. We have great character development with Francine as the sassy she-wolf heroine, Alejandro as the sexy cat and then we have Mitchell with a jealousy streak a mile wide. I must admit, I really wanted to reach through the pages of the book and smack him upside the head at his stupidity. In addition to the love triangle, there were a couple twists from each of the men's past that brought trouble to Francine. I was slightly disappointed over the resolution of the Jenny issue. It was not the main focus of the story by any means but it was wrapped up as a neat and tidy here is what happened afterthought. Overall this was an enjoyable read which I would definitely recommend giving a try.
I have to admit, I'm not usually a huge fan of the threesome books. However, I completely have changed my mind thanks to Eve! Francine is a feisty woman with a wicked sense of humor. She is a "lusty", as she puts it, woman who is waiting for her mate to wake up and stop being so stubborn. Unfortunately she has to wait. He is super stubborn. Not too mention there is a new guy sniffing around Francine.
Once that her mate, Mitchell, figures out that the new guy, Jag, is trying to win over Francine.. his jealousy is out of control. He doesn't like seeing Jag all over Francine. But it's already too late, Francine's wolf recognizes Jag as her mate too. So now that Mitchell's wolf is waking up and finally realizing that Francine is his mate, is it already too late? Of course not! Usually Amber and I complain when one guy doesn't get the girl but we don't have too this time. It's awesome!
I really loved this book. There were some super hooottt moments. I also liked seeing all of the characters from Delicate Freakn' Flower. I also liked the Mitchell didn't just fall right into the polyamorous lifestyle. This was a great book from Eve and she totally opened my eyes!
* I recommend reading the previous book before this entry in the series.
Francine has known her best friends brother Mitchell is her mate for ages, but he has denied her for years. Even now she's all grown up, he bolts out the door as soon as she shows her face. But then she meets Alejandro, the brother of her best friends mate. And it turns out that not only is he also her mate, he wants her just as much as she wants him. But then Mitchell gets jealous and Francine maybe has to make an impossible choice.
Even though Francine is quite fun character, it gets overshadowed by the absolute whining from Mitchell. What an unattractive hero and I felt quite strongly that Francine should just get on with Alejandro and leave Mitchell eating her dust in her past. Even though there was a bit of action in this story, this entry is just way more dramatics in this and therefore getting the same score as the previous book. Not completely sure if I liked this, but all in all still curious for the next book.
I keep hoping one of these menages will be an MMF not MFM. This one bugged me a little more than the first since Mitchell's so horrified by the idea of sharing Francine with Alejandro and super ridiculously jealous about it. I want my HEA to really be a HEA and while they did finally work things out, it just never feels as solid for me when a menage isn't everyone involved with everyone else.
That being said I enjoyed Alejandro and Francine finding each other and how quickly what was initially a plan to make Mitchell jealous became something more. I liked that Alejandro may have been a more than a bit of a player in the past, but he wasn't scared to admit what he was feeling and offered himself up to Francine in whatever capacity she'd have him. Mitchell took longer to bring around, but then he's been an idiot most of their lives so his resistance to her wasn't new.
I enjoyed this as a pretty straight forward shifter erotica. These are great palate cleansers when I'm mired in some big long drawn out epic read. :)
I absolutely love this series. It's so funny and sexy and hot. Naomi has been trying all her life to get Mitchell to see her as more than just her best friends sister. When Jag shows up it all changes. Is Mitchell to late to claim j is mate? Could he possibly learn to share? With a hunter in town and a crazy she wolf out for revenge they'll have to come together. Will these three ever get their freaking stuff together or will Naomi have to choose only one mate.
Francine has known that Mitchell was supposed to be her mate from childhood. But Mitchell always avoided Francine and told her that he was not her mate.
Now that Naomi has settled down with her two mates Francine has decided to stop playing the field and wait for Mitchell to figure out that she is his mate. Waiting could take forever with the way Mitchell flees the room anytime Francine is near.
On the way to Naomi's baby shower Francine's car decides to stop. Now wearing uncomfortable heels, a dead phone and carrying a huge present Francine has no choice but to walk the rest of the way to Naomi's house. Not even close to the house Francine is tired and aching and sitting on the side of the road when along comes Alejandro. The bad boy on a motorcycle. Alejandro is going to the same party, what luck. Getting a ride the arrive at the party together and before Mitchell could flee the scene he sees Francine with the handsome stranger. Mitchell freaks out and challenges the stranger by punching him in the face. Francine can't believe what she is seeing, Mitchell has not even been in the same room with her in 5 years, way is he acting so crazy.
Alejandro turns out to be Javier's brother (one of Naomi's mates) and is not a stranger at all. Francine feels the same things for Alejandro as she has her entire life for Mitchell. What the heck does that mean. Alejandro wants Francine but understands she is in love with Mitchell. Hoping to get Francine to see that she is also meant to be with him, Alejandro instills a plan to snag the wolf into admitting his mating feelings for Francine. Alejandro just hopes that Francine will choose him as well.
With two potential mates Francine is torn between the sexy new comer and the old flame she has known her entire life. Will the jaguar and wolf try to get along to both mate with Francine or will Mitchell's jealousy and hangups hurt the three way relationship they are all trying to enjoy. Mitchell cannot deny the pull to Francine or the desire to make Francine happy. Deciding to give into his fears Mitchell tries to let go of his traditional thoughts on sex and relationship in order to open himself up for something a little more non-conventional.
I liked this story. In the first book Naomi had things a bit easy with the fact that Ethan and Javier where already acquainted and best friends. To me this one is a little more realistic (if you take out the shapeshifter part, LOL). If we were to have a mating gene that told us who we were destined to be with and it did not always mean a couple = 2 people, then it is realistic to say that those others entering a more than 2 person relationship probably would not know each other. And furthermore, might meet the destined person at different periods of the original relationship. Which is interesting because Book #3 deals with just such a dilemma. What happens when the shapeshifter you are destined to mate with is ALREADY MATED. That should be a good read.
Francine has know Mitchell is her mate since hitting puperty, which is when Mitchell started to dodge when even she came around to see her BFF and his sister Naomi. So while he's been escaping her before he even hit his eyes on her she's grown up and fate has planned her another mate.
On her way to neomi's babyshower her car breakdown and she receives a ride from another guest Alejandro, but pulling into the driveway she faces Mitchell first time in five years and he attacks Alejandro. Seeing a chance to show Mitchell just what he's loosing she and Alejandro cook up a scheme, they'll pretend to date to make Mitchell jealous and see her in a new light.
Of course it complicates matters that womanizing Alejandro is falling head over heels with the feisty redheaded, curvy Francine - sure that he's found his mate in her. So what is Francine to do with her choices when she realizes she wants both.
Amazing, I'm in love with this series! Jealous and Freakn' started with a bang and kept the momentum going all the way to the end, which is just my kind of book! I like action, be it chases or sexual tension and flirting and this book, whoa boy there was so much sexual tension it was insane. Desire, need, want and not being able to get it, yummy!
She wants him, he wants her, he avoids her, she makes him jealous, he falls in love... oh so yummy! Of course with two guys and one gal the sentence above can be hard to comprehend unless you read the book, to which you'll have a great chance to as there is a giveaway below the review!
Now Francine was just my kind of heroine, a sassy smart mouth with attitude to spare. Refreshingly unique voice with a dirty sense of humor and flirty disposition. Loved her! Feisty little redhead. Alejandro was gorgeous, easy-going womanizing player with a new girl every night until he meets Francine, who turns out to be a tough cookie to break. Mitchell was so much fun to read, the man is in serious denial of his feelings, not to mention jealous, crumby and rude but you can't help but to end up liking him, even though he fights not to feel anything for Francine. And of course there is Naomi and her two mates Ethan and Javier, who were just a joy to read, of course now I'm itching to read their story too (book #1)!
I just have to give this book 5 Stars, anything else would be a lie, I loved it! Paranormal romance doesn't get much better than this! And I think All Romance Books readers agree as Jealous and Freakn' is currently their topseller!
This is for you if... you like your heroines sassy spitfires, your shifter men gorgeous and if you enjoy a book with some steamy seriously hot sexual tension! Not to mention some delicious sex scenes... ;)
I love reading a female who is not scared to go out and get what she wants by any means necessary. When Francine was ten years old she told Mitchell, “You know we’re ment to be together, so just admit it.” Too many years later she has decided perhaps a healthy dose of jealousy is what he needs to make him wake up and smell her wolfie!
Alejandro is on board with making Mitchell jealous. He can clearly see all Francine’s attributes. He is even hoping to get to know some of her attributes more intimately. They decide staying at her place would be a great jealously starting point. Alejandro soon discovers that he is strongly attracted to her. He loves her raunchy sense of humor, wants her delectably curvy body, and his kitty is purring for him to claim her.
Mitchell has grown up with Francine. Francine and Mitchell’s sister Naomi have been besties forever. Mitchell has always seen Francine as another baby sister. He continues to use the sister feelings as an excuse to avoid the obvious, he wants Francine. The problem is he doesn’t want Francine until someone else has taken notice of her.
I had Mitchell issues. He was a ginormous jerk. He was almost even cruel to Francine at times. I do have to admit though, his attitude made for interesting reading. I knew Francine would bring him to heel, I was dying to see just how it would happen. I was just disappointed in his actions even after he had claimed her though. He knew what he was getting into and he still jerked Francine around about it. Alejandro was awesomely yummy and a great catch in a mate. He complimented Francine well. Their sense of humor and personalities worked well together.
Readers are given plenty of page time with Naomi, Ethan and Javier. I loved seeing how their relationship has progressed. Readers are given more of Naomi and her delusions of delicateness, while her two mates feed and pamper that huge delusion. As with all of Langlais’ books there is plenty of humor to keep you giggling through the pages.
Francine is sick of waiting for Mitchell her mate to realise that they are meant for each other. After five long years of him avoiding her she has decided on a last attempt to make him notice her. Make him jealous. Alejandro, her best friends brother in law is just the guy to do it, sexy and charming she doesn't have to fake interest in him. But could it looks like it is more than just lust she feels for Alejandro as her wolf is just itching to put her teeth in him and Mitchell and mark them as hers.
Okay, give me a minute to cool off after reading this... I think I am going to start packing a survival kit for this series; a fan to cool off; a bottle of water to replace all the drool and a spare pair of knickers...cos yeah.
Aside from heating up the pages though, this book was really fun, it had a sassy heroine who wasn't afraid of some durty talking who injected a lot of humour into the book and some sexy man candy to drool all over. Especially Alejandro, he was charming and funny and had great chemistry with Francine, right from their first meeting you could feel the chemistry between them.
But, this was a menage romance and the other player, Mitchell...I didn't like. I normally like the broody quieter ones, but Mitchell just came across as sulky. He also didn't have the same explosive chemistry that Alejandro and Francine had, at some points it seemed that this book would be better without him as a love interest.
However, I am really loving this series it is light hearted, sexy and full of quirky characters, I can't wait to read the next one.
It was just me or this book was a little crazy? Because came on we all know it’s possible for a freakn’ to find their mate and have to share it, so explain why Mitchell was so intense and dramatic the whole book, when he could had done the right thing a long time ago and had her all to himself?
So I wasn’t really a fan of Mitchell for said reason and the way he kept fighting his wolf, when everyone always listen to their animal when things are screwed. But Mitchell was worse because he kept treating her like she was insane for even suggesting the mating thing, since they were kids, hello?
I liked Alejandro, actually loved him and the way he treated Francine. she definitely deserved a guy worshiping her after Mitchell bad behavior. Alejandro is actually Javier brother, from the first book and it was nice having a connection with other shifters, because we can see the world is not only this little town.
Between those two I think Alejandro was the best mate, because he was always thinking about Francine and doing the right thing, because Mitchell even after the mating kept trying to fight and didn’t really handled a relationship like an adult.
The 2nd book in the very funny "Freakn' Shifters" series has Naomi's BFF as a main character, Francine. Her partners are Naomi's brother who's a bit of a prude and set in his ways wolf shifter Mitchel and Janvier's(one of Naomi's mates) brother Alejandro(jaguar *swoon*).
It's funny to see how Mitchel finally realizes that he actually wants Francine and he really doesn't consider her another sister. Meanwhile, Francine almost gives up on him, but as a last ditch resort, she decides to make him jealous with Alejandro. I couldn't stop laughing the whole book. Francine and Alejandro are dirty talkers and have a great sense of humor. Seeing them bantering cracked me up repeatedly.
Mitchel wasn't happy at all with Francine's decision of dating Alejandro so, again, hilarity ensured. We see him kind of stalking them and then we see Francine crashing his fuck date with a crazy shifter. In the end he sees the light and we have the lovely hea with the polyamoous twist :)
On one hand I'll readily admit Mitchell's behavior is completely juvenile and what Francine has with Alejandro is complete insta love which I normally hate. That said it worked.
If it wasn't a steaming hot sex scene it was a hilarious one as these three settled into their relationship together. Despite thinking they pretty much all need to grow up I enjoyed their antics.
My biggest issue actually was the Jenny situation which was resolved off page and summarized one of two outside factors that I think should have been included in the actual book. I want to see what happens when Alejandro sees his other brother again and I wanted to see Jenny actually get her comeuppance.
Overall though as I listened on audiobook at the edge of my seat through the whole story I wasn't the only person in the room who thoroughly enjoyed this book, so did my husband. Thank you Ms. Langlais.
Originally I read book one enjoyed it but decided to skip book 2. A bit later in the year I was in the mood for a MFM manage which included some humor & decided I'd give this book a shot. This was a flop for me. I didn't find much of it funny. I disliked "Mitchy" & was indifferent to Becky. The only character I really enjoyed reading was "Jag". Alejandro/Jag would have been magnificent in a different book altogether. The plot was thin & at the best of times silly. A random "villain" pops up 60% in whose purpose seemed to be removing Alejandro from Becky to give Mitchell a shot at getting his shit together. I rate this book 2 starsI should have skipped it
Really didn't like this one. I don't think I've ever been so frustrated and annoyed with characters before.
Francine was so crude and insulting. I never felt any genuine emotion from her. It was all just a hollow string of comebacks and jibes.
I could strangle Mitchell. First, he's such a coward for avoiding Francine for years. He claims not to love her but rather feels like she's his sister...creepy. Then when he finally agrees to be her mate, he's still reluctant to be part of the threesome. He's such a prude.
Alejandro was the most tolerable but still a major case of insta-love.
This is book two in the Freakn Shifters series. The author is getting better. This story was great. The only thing that bothers me is the repetitive use of the word " Freakn" I know it's the book titles, but wow it's used a lot. Other than that , the characters are amazing. In depth without over kill and quirky without being annoying. I'm looking forward to book 3, Chris so deserves to suffer for a mate after the hell he's been giving his brothers.
Bummer. This book annoyed me more than it entertained me. It was just because Mitchell was such a douche bag. Start to finish. Why the fuck did any of these characters bother to put up with him? He wasn't at all likable. Just an asshole who didn't bother to consider anyone else but himself.
Ya can't win them all. And I know this author is completely talented. So I'll pretend this one didn't exist and continue on.
This was fun! It's erotica, but with a good plot and humor. Mitchell got annoying after awhile (but eventually comes around). I liked that the menage relationship in this one was a bit different than in Delicate Freakn' Flower. I liked the Hunter and Jenny twist (but one goes unresolved; the individual disappears and nothing more is said). Good opening for book 3 (Already Freakn' Mated).
