The first moment I laid my eyes on her, I knew we would be a power couple. She compliments me in every way. The bullet to my gun. When they warned me to keep a close eye on her, I dismissed it. I don’t need to. I trust Sabina with my life, I shouldn’t have. She sold me out to protect her brother. The woman I trust with everything betrayed me right at one of the most important moments of my life. The day I get called up into the Juric family, my woman makes a deal with a shady club owner that might ruin everything. With an insider working against the family and the feds sniffing behind us, the last thing I should be worried about is how I’m going to make my woman pay for what she did. She betrayed me. She should know better than to think I’ll let her make me look like a fool. I’ll hurt her, I’ll make her cry, but I won’t let her go. By the end of it all, I’ll make her wish she never took that bet.
Rae is a daydreamer, nurse, bookworm, nature enthusiast, wife, momma, animal activist and an optimist. She has lived her entire life in NYC and loves to travel with her family. She believes that sweets should have a larger piece of the nutritional pyramid and that Buffy the Vampire Slayer was one of the best TV shows ever invented. When she is not working as a nurse in her community, she can either be found reading, writing, or taking a walk while listening to music. She has been writing books in her mind for as long as she can remember but decided that maybe there were others out in the world that would find joy in the words she would put down on the page.
Absolutely loved reading Kaja's Bet! After reading the prequel, Kaja's Prize, I was eager to have more of Kaja's and Sabina's story. These two had me on the edge of my seat! Sabina is a strong-willed spitfire and survivor. I loved her spirit and tenacity and her loyal heart. Kaja, well, he had my heart, then made me angry but slowly redeemed himself in my eyes. But, did he redeem himself enough for Sabina? Or is the betrayal and heartbreak too much? This book had the perfect blend of suspense, wicked heat and angst to hold my attention and keep me captive. I'm looking forward to the next book on the Juric Crime Family series!
Kaja’s Bet is the third installment to the Juric Crime Family Series. Kaja and Sabina story picks up from Kaja’s Prize, which I recommend you read first for full enjoyment. This book is filled with twists and turns, heartbreak and lies. "You found it, Kaja. You have it and you're destroying it. Don't do this." Their relationship is a turbulent one that is not for the faint of heart. "It's going to take me a while to forgive everything that you've done. It hurts me just to think about how you've behaved." Shattered hearts can mend or can they? “I had screwed everything up and I don’t know how to fix it. I need you, but you're gone . And I'm the one who pushed you away.” Another fantastic read by Rae!
I freaking loved this story in this series. Kaja has one weakness... that's Sabina. He would do everything for his woman and she is loyal, strong and independent. This loyalty makes it hard for their relationship when she tries to save her brother. and he'll breaks loose. Love, betrayal, twist and turns, action and steamy scenes with a HEA in the end, but a lot of emotions and heartbreak in between👍👍👍
This is the 3rd book in the series and I would recommend reading Kaja’s Prize for best enjoyment. Kaja and Sabina have fallen for each other but Sabina is stuck in the middle of Kaja and her brother’s battle. Kaja now believes that Sabina has been disloyal to him and he plans on making her pay for it. Fast-paced read with lots of drama, suspense and steam. Great characters with intense chemistry. I liked it.

STORY: So far, I am 3 books into this series and I want more. I can honestly say, I am not a fan of books with characters that are already starting out in a preexisting relationship, as they tend to not hold my interest long. However, Kaja’s and Sabina’s relationship starts out spicy and quickly turns into a nightmare. Kaja is a no nonsense guy who is looking to move up in the Juric crime family. The one thing he wants, loyalty. Sabina seems to be a kept woman, but she definitely bought spice to her role, whether it’s obeying or disobeying Kaja.
I always say I like the way this author tells her story and connects it together. She keeps you engage while giving you dark and Intense. There will be some scenes that might get a bit intense for some readers. Kaja, didn’t agree all the time with his treatment of Sabina because of his ignorance to listen, but viewing things from his side, I can see why he reacted the way he did. Sabina, I don’t think I would change anything about her for this story her defiance at times is what gave the story a push.
Towards the end, I see there is a prequel to Kaja’s and Sabina’s story. After this book, I am very much interested in seeing how both characters came together. The Epilogue, what in the actual book story is going on, and the plot thickens.
SEXUAL CHEMISTRY: Sex scenes were satisfactory, wasn’t as graphic in the beginning but became more graphic as the story continues. There is a non con scene that will be a trigger for some very graphic especially after.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS: I just love the men in the Juric crime family. I like that with each book we still get to see previous characters from stories past, Sven and Josip, along with upcoming characters Luka, Matej, Liam, Zeus. Can I just say, Katarina is badass.
OVERALL: Another good story and plot. Characters that kept me engaged and sexy crime men. I am looking forward to book 4, Luka’s story even without knowing the blurb.
✰✰TRIGGERS: non con(graphic) and violence
****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.
Great story! I am definitely going to have to go back and read the first two books in this series so I can have the full effect of this family drama! This is the story of Kaja and Sabina. Kaja’s only weakness is Sabina. She drives him absolutely crazy (in a good kind of way). He knows that he cannot live without her. All he requires of Sabina is her loyalty. Sabina is a strong, fierce, and loyal woman. She is so in love with Kaja that she sees no one else and only wants to please him. However, the one thing that Sabina and Kaja cannot agree on is Sabina’s brother Stephan. He seems to get Sabina into one mess after another. When Stephan calls Sabina, she goes running because he is about to be killed. She takes money from Kaja and in the end has to call him because Stephan promised something that Sabina wasn’t willing to do. When Kaja arrives, all hell breaks loose and he has to sign an agreement to do business with a man names Pavel. From this point on, Kaja believes that Sabina has been disloyal to him and treats her like crap.
I can understand why Kaja would be mad and upset. However, if he would have listened to Sabina in the first place, he would have seen that everything she did, she did out of loyalty – maybe not to him, but to her only family member she had left. I loved how Sabina stood up for herself and was very defiant to Kaja, but yet, she still stood by his side. There is drama, action, violence, suspense, chemistry, and so very emotional. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series to see what happens next! Loved the characters and will definitely be looking out for more from Rae B Lake! Sabina is in love with Kaja, a vor in the Juric Family, but between her brother's messed up life and Kaja's preoccupation with being elevated in the family. She makes some terrible choices, and drives a wedge between her and the love of her life.
Kaja has loved Sabina since the night he first met her. He has done everything to make her happy, even helped her crazy brother until he can't help him any longer. He doesn't see that he is suffocating her in holding her up on a pedestal, until his anger causes him to nearly kill their love.
Can Sabina proved her loyalty before it's too late? Can Kaja admit he has gone too far before he loses the one thing he adores above all others? Can Kaja prove himself to the Juric Family before Marko puts an end to everything once and for all?
Honestly, I felt like I was 2 chapters behind reading this book. From the opening paragraph to the end. It was kind of distracting, especially since it seemed like the first half of the book was missing. That said, it wasn't a bad book. I liked it, especially when I finally bonded with the characters.
Kaja has a huge anger problem. He does things to Sabina that are not warm and cozy, Even though he hates how he treats her, it doesn't excuse his actions. Even when his anger cools, and he finally realises that he isn't right about his anger. What saves this, for me is Sabina taking out the trash at the club, then tracking down the double crossers while Kaja is away on business. She's definitely capable of being Kaja's partner in more ways than one.
So, take a chance. Read it. It's a good book.

Loved the book it was awesome, the story was brilliant it kept you glued to the book the characters were fantastic. This story was about Kaja and Sabina, the ups and downs, and Kaja wants loyalty, family first. Sabina is always bailing her brother out of trouble he even sold his sister for a gambling debt. When he brought his sister into his debt Kaja told her not to give him any more money so when he called in to see her so she gave him five hundred dollars and while she is bailing him out Kaja is trying to work out where the bullets are coming from, Sabina noticed.the numbers on the boxes and the different ink for the numbers she explained what she noticed Kaja and Sven are listening to what she is saying so Kaja looked into box and said it was normal but when Sabina checked the box she found something else. There was so much going on you had action, shootings, twist and turns, betrayal, loyalty, hot and steamy, rough sex, sensual sex, anger, lust, desire, and even infidelity. Can Sabina and Kaja find their way back to each other, will Kaja keep his job knowing the guns are still a problem.

So here is book three in the Juric Crime Family and this one is devious. So we all know Kaja is a key player in the Juric Family. He has been working really hard to move up the chain. Then he also has Sabine the one woman that he wants to claim. Everyone knows that they are together. There are insecurities on both sides. He is afraid that she is using him or may affect him in moving up. But he does not want anyone else. Sabine has a past and it is not great. Her brother is a cornhole who does love her but needs to grow up. He is really only thinking about himself without thinking of the consequences. Well one night everything changes and people are in danger. There is a betrayal that seems to have a domino effect on Sabine and Kaja. Then we see a different side of Kaja and I was not happy with him. Gah, what will it take for him to see that he is in the wrong. Well they both were. Seems like a lack of communication in their relationship. So can they be saved? Can Kaja fix the problems? This is book
Kaja is looking to get ahead in the Juric family, but he’s not blood. He has worked hard in his position, but he wants more. He feels he has everything where he wants it and a good woman at his side. Kaja took Sabine from a card game when she alerted him to being played by the people at the game. He has taken care of her, and sees to her needs. However, Sabine feels alone with noting to do. Kaja constantly leaves her alone. Sabines brother is a thorn in Kaja’s side, always showing up for a hand out. Kaja forbids Sabine from helping him further. But Sabine is loyal to her brother and can’t just throw him to the wolves. Will Sabines loyalty to her brother cost Kaja his place in the family. Can they get past what Kaja sees as he deceitfulness?

Kaja, working his way towards promotion within the ranks of the organisation. Sabrina, his partner and conflicted because of her self indulgent brother who looks to her to bail him out. One bad judgement results in dire consequences for the couple, as Sabrina failed to consider her actions. Kaia turns cruel towards her unable to forgive her breach of trust and in turn, she is distraught with his humiliating behaviour. Despite all the issues Sabrina remains steadfast in her loyalty to Kaja and eventually he realises he is punishing her for the wrong reasons, admitting that he loves her. Violence and danger runs through this themed storyline

Kaja and Sabina's story starts in Kaja's Prize prequel and it's an EXCELLENT read. Kaja's Bet picks up and what a story this is. Rae B Lake NEVER ceases to amaze me with her stories and in this one Sabina creates a world of troubles with Kaja and they seem neverending. It doesn't make things better that a good bit of that trouble comes because of her brother Stephen. This story is a pretty emotional read and you never know from one minute to the next what's coming. Surprises at every turn and excitement all around. Kaja's Bet is another fantastic read from this author.
Their relationship was sweet, dark, and complicated because Sabina was torn between her love for Kaja or her loyalty to her brother when he needed her. After Sabina unintentionally betrays Kaja, he becomes much more harder on her, while she works hard to redeem herself to win his love and trust again. The Juric family also has more issues to deal with in this story and it’s thrilling to see how things are played out.

The Juric crime family series continues with Kaja & Sabina's story. As in most mafia family stories, trust is one of the most important things the family expects, and Kaja is no different. When Kaja is betrayed and his trust is broken, the drama, danger and suspense escalates by the poor choices made by Sabina. It is a tough choice for Sabina proving where her loyalty lies when she must make a decision between Kaja and a brother that is always in trouble or causing it. **I was gifted "Kaja's Bet" via Booksprout, leaving my review based on my reading.** 4.5 Stars
Another great installment in this series . I love Kaja but I wanted to slap him upside the head on more than one occasion, I did see it from his point of view and how I'd feel in that position but he wouldn't listen to reason the pig headed male and as for Sabina she didn't deserve this treatment but she was beyond stupid, her loyalty to her brother is commendable but reckless. If you want to know what I'm on about you'll have to read won't you ....hahaha!!
Continuing on from Kajas Prize, Saint and Kaja fons themselves on opposing sides. Torn between her love of Kaja and loyality to her brother, will betrayal, secrets and more push them further apart? Well written with an engaging story, the prequal is a must read first.

Kaja's Bet was a very enjoyable read. It is the 3rd book in the Juric Crime Family series. Kaja and Sabina have amazing chemistry. There is loads of mafia action and suspense. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Book #3 in the Juric Crime series is a very entertaining read. It’s a dark, sexy mafia romance. Sabrina is torn between Kaja and her brother, Stephen. There so much drama and suspense. I never knew what to expect from one chapter to the next. I can’t wait to read the next addition. *this honest review is based on a complimentary copy via BookSprout*
Kaja is pretty brutal when he is wronged, and that includes being wronged by the person he trusted most. Sabina has some serious issues with trusting Kaja, but then really breaks his trust. I like that the people he trusts tell him where he is wrong, even though it takes him a while to figure it out. The epilogue is so sad. I hope there is a rescue.
Sabina was being sexually abused to try and work off her brother's gambling debt. Kaja is able to win her while gambling. Kaja believes Sabina has not been loyal to him and he flips his shit. Sabina is such a strong woman exactly what Kaja needs. An amazing book. This whole series has been incredible.

Sabina is one bad*** and her loyalty is true. Kaja is mafia to the core! This is such a tremendous series! Rae has got her work cut out tor her because there is such potential for this series! I think her MC books are the bomb but boy she’s done an amazing job with the mafia series! To me this is one of those series that you need to start with book one to understand the dynamics! Great job Rae!!

Once again Rae weaves this fantastic story only this one picks up from Kaja's Prize. There are a lot of emotional twists and turns that keeps you glued to the story from start to finish and in the main character's corners to find a happily ever after!

Almost a good as Sven’s story. This was such a good story. I love how this author writes. I especially love it when the men act like such jerks and then have to apologize to these women. So Kaja was wrong. Sabina needed to make him gravel more but she at least did not immediately give in. This was such a good read. I am going to read this one again
For full enjoyment of this story, I recommend reading Kaja's Prize first!! I absolutely love the non stop twists in this book, kept me on my toes!! Great characters, and beautiful emotions, great word building! I highly recommend!!
Wow. This third book in the series had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Kaja and Sabine’s story isn’t an easy read but that’s because this author knows how to write the hard stuff. This story has many twists and turns and you are never left wanting. Absolutely perfect.
Wow this is an intense read between Kaja and Sabina, these two have the passion to get thru almost anything. They will definitely be put thru the test, loyalty is number one in their life. Situations definitely go down in this read, I am loving this series.
