20 years age gap. HOT single daddy. And my very bossy bodyguard. It's wrong. It's taboo. It's scandalous. But forbidden fantasies are the best fantasies... right?
I've always been a good girl. Played by all the rules. But now my inner bad girl wants out.
Theo is dark. Enigmatic. Incurably broken... And incurably fine. He's also one h*ll of a devoted father.
Should I be more worried about the dangerous men after me? Or the inappropriate feelings I have for the man twice my age??
Theo
Ava's infuriating. Uncooperative. And makes me want to put her over my knee and teach her a lesson. The beauty arouses parts of me I've had locked away for years.
But who the h*ll am I kidding? I'm twice her age. And her rich politician father hired me to protect her. Not to make me her new 'Daddy'.
She's mine to protect. And I'll take great pleasure bringing down the sick criminals after her.
But after that, I'll have to go far far away. Because it's getting harder and harder to control myself around the innocent beauty.

Stars: 4 Length: Full Length POV: Dual Series: Stand Alone Ending: HEA Re-read? Maybe
I did enjoy this book in general. I liked both main characters a lot as well as Theo's son. Plus it was really a pretty steamy book. It has just the smallest taste of a D/s relationship in bed. If you're looking for something full blown, this isn't it. But there is a taste. Also, just to let you know there isn't any daddy kink. I guess they call it Daddy's Law because he's a dad? I'm not sure.
There were two things I didn't like. The first is how much he talked about how he loved his dead wife. He just loved her, said he wasn't ready to move on, he never wanted to be anyone else, etc. I'm not into that. Whenever this happens to a character it cheapens their current romance for me. The second thing I didn't enjoy was how he was so adamant that he didn't want more kids and that was why they couldn't be together. He seemed open to everything with her and I felt like that just came out of nowhere.
I really liked this but I wish it was kinkier. Yes, I said it. It wasn’t really taboo at all. He’s just older than her. I mean he’s 20 years older but still. She was an old souls. Had to grow up fast and was very mature. She definitely had daddy issues. When her parents divorced at a very young age she decided to stay with her verbally and mentally abusive father. She wanted to help him change. Uhm…. She was like 7 or 8 years old. Definitely had daddy issues. But that was it. Ava and Theo clicked. They were very good for each other and the problems like I originally thought were all concerning her father.
These two were meant to be and it was a cute read with some steamy times but all very normal.
I did have two problems with this story. 1. Nope. Nope. NOPE. 2. This angered me so much. It made no sense.
Other than this it was good. A solid story with two very mature adults.
When Theo is assigned to Ava because of her father's campaign and a overlying threat, the sparks ignite between them. She is a stubborn head strong woman that drives him to madness. She is also twenty years younger and has his feelings all over the place but when the man who threatened her father makes bail, Theo is hired to protect his daughter Ava. Will he be able to keep his feelings in check to do his job to protect her? This story draws you in and have you in Theo and Ava's corner to get their chance to find out if there is a happily ever after in their future!

I'm a little confused here. Except for her occasionally using the word daddy except for the word occasionally being thrown here and there there's no real daddy / little girl going on in the story. I feel cheated. I'm not even sure why they would bill it as a daddy story?
I thought Ava and Theo were just delicious! I'm an age gap junkie, so this book had my name written all over it. I loved the combination of drama, emotion, desire, tension, heart and suspense that flowed effortlessly across the pages. I was very quickly pulled in and consumed to the point that I stayed up late to finish this book. What a great read and an awesome romance. I am electing to post a forthright review.
Great age gap, bit if a slow burn and lots of heat once it kicks off. Really enjoyed these two and the protective alpha that is Theo. Loved that Ava played a role in helping bridge the gap between father and son. Cory was absolutely adorable and had my heart melting with his sweetness. I am really looking forward to Jesse’s book.
Amazing book. Love the attraction Theo and Ava have for each other and how kind he is to her. He is a great protector. Ava is so amazing with her children she helps paint and gets on so well with Theo. Such a fast action packed book I loved it :)

Quick Summary Art teacher, Ava, gets stuck with a grumpy bodyguard when her politician father is targeted by a radical group.
Theo is definitely eye candy but of the brooding grumpy variety. He also happens to be her student's father. So definitely off limits right?
🖤 ~ My Thoughts ~ 🖤 I had hoped Theo was a single/divorced parent going into this but he is actually a widower who is still very much in love with his dead wife, Cassandra. And that is the reason why this went for a good read to just okay. I didn't hate it, the story had potential and I liked Cory, Ava's friend and Ava, in general. Theo was the negative, the constant reminder (from him) about how much he missed Cassandra, how guilty he felt about being attracted to Ava because of his feelings for Cassandra and the reasons he pushes Ava away at the end, were pretty frustrating and kept putting out the low heat between the MCs until it finally snuffed it out completely.
I wish Ava would have tried a bit harder to hold out and really make Theo grovel and earn his way back into her life after the way he kept forcing her into second place. She was always the one left to make the first move between them and Theo only ever accepted her on his terms. It kept feeling too one sided for me and I needed to see Theo actually chase after his heroine for once. Taking a bullet meant for her wasn't enough to warrant her instant forgiveness. I want a hero who isn't so passive.
Widows/Widowers who are still in love with their dead spouses isn't my favorite trope but Theo's reluctance to fully embrace a new relationship with Ava was extra hard to read because he really didn't see a future with her. He proves this when he shuts down the possibility of having more children. This is something that Ava wants and he doesn't hesitate to tell her he doesn't, siting his age and teen son. It might have been a knee jerk reaction but even after finding out Ava is indeed pregnant, Theo doesn't do anything to really prove he's okay with this sudden turn of events. Suddenly he's just okay with it and ready to commit, without any real logic or explanation that could help convince him or Ava - let alone the reader - that he actually means it.
I also really didn't like that Ava's (one and probably only) child was named after the dead wife! Like, why? Why would the heroine be okay with naming her Oops baby after the baby daddy's dead first wife? The constant and now forever reminder that the hero loved and is still devoted to his first love would be a hard pill to swallow for any woman, I would think... I kept remembering the moment Ava felt a pang of jealousy when Theo brings up Cassandra and she thinks it would be hard to feel like she was always competing with a ghost. #Cringeworthy And now her own kid would be a constant reminder of OW. It just didn't make sense to me.
Extra (Spoiler-y) Info :
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is the first book in the four book installment in the Silver Fox Daddies series. It's a age trope forbidden relationship. It's a slow burn and fast pace. It's a dirty talking daddy with a younger submissive woman. The sex scenes are scorching hot that you need a fan to cool off. The characters are engaging and relatable. The story was riveting, intense and pull you in right from the start. There were so many drama, suspense, and twists and turns sprinkled with passion it kept me glued to the story all the way to the end. Ava is an art teacher for a private high school. She's also the daughter of a Senator who is running for governor the two have a very tumultuous relationship. She Senator is targeted by an eco-friendly environmental activist group because of his views and his life is in danger which in turn puts Ava life in danger too. The Senator hire the same security team that same his life to protect his daughter. Theo was assigned to Ava detailed, as it turns out the two had met before in a coffee shop when Ava was in drooling over him. They never thought that they would see each other again. Ava is also Theo eleven year old son art teacher. Theo is an ex army who recently loss his wife two years prior. He's forty three years old and all he does is work. Ava is twenty four years old and she likes older man. She was to being protected but Theo wasn't having none of it. He decided that it would be best if he started to take her to and from work to make his job more easier. As the two spends more time together the line between protector and client started to cross. Because Theo was so attracted to her she was a distraction for his job to better protect her. The two decided to throw caution to the wind and act on their attraction. It was explosive, filthy, smutty and carnal. Theo knows that he should remove himself from the case but he could bare for some else to guard her. When Theo see same blue sedan that was following them from day one at her house he got scared and think they got her. Theo knew then that he had to tell his boss that he messed up. Ava was moved to a safe house but it turned out that she was safer being with Theo. Daddy 's Law was filled with romance, danger, manipulation, submission, dominance, hatred, suspense, cruelty, violence, torture, action, kidnapping, spanking, healing, love, happiness, survival, stalking, proposal, and surprise baby. The story was beautifully written with emotion and great transitions from page to page. It was easy to read and great plot lines.

Theo Phillips, a West Point graduate and a tested warrior, left Afghanistan behind knowing that in returning home to his son Cory, he was facing the most challenging fight of his life—patching the wounds of heartbreak and a broken family after the death of beloved wife and mother, Cassandra, from a car accident.
Now, at 43, Theo, a big green-eyed and black-haired retired officer, struggles to keep a balance between the challenges of being a solo parent of a precocious eleven-year-old and the mental and physical challenges of his job as a security agent and bodyguard for Pegasus Star Security, founded by his best friend and fellow warrior, Jesse. And, his most recent assignment, to protect 24-year-old Ava Cruise, daughter of Duncan Cruise, former Illinois state senator and current gubernatorial candidate, following a recent assault and on-going threats from a group of environmental terrorists who are angry about the candidate’s policies, threatens to disrupt the balance that he and his son Cory have finally achieved after the death of the woman whom they both loved and lost.
But, Theo’s greatest challenge comes when he meets the petite, beautiful green-eyed Ava with flowing brown hair and rocking curves that would tempt a saint, and most certainly a retired soldier. But, the challenge to Theo’s professionalism only increases when he realizes that Ava is not just the only daughter of a powerful political figure, she is his son’s favorite teacher at Willingham Academy, the art teacher who has helped the young boy find a new source of passion through art.
And, as Ava is alerted to dangers that have leaked into her world because of her father, she pushes back on the idea of needing “protection” from unknown threats which are not of her own making. She wants her dad to be a dad, not a power-broker. And so, when young Cory’s dad, acting as her father’s agent swoops into her world to offer her protection, she is both repulsed by her father’s world upending her peaceful life, and simultaneously drawn to this silver fox whom her dad has hired to protect her.
KC Crowne’s newest romance provides the reader with a twisted path of love as the heroine is pulled out of her safe world by her father’s political aspirations and tossed into the strong, safe arms of an older man who has already been injured at the game of love, but is tempted to play the game one more time with a woman almost 20 years his junior.

Ava and Theo’s story presents a rather steamy, undercover romance with some intrigue and danger thrown in to keep the readers captivated. Right from the first time she spies Theo, Ava is helplessly attracted to him despite the obvious age difference. Days later she meets him again when he is introduced to her as her favourite student’s father. She is dismayed to find the handsome beast of a man she is attracted to is also rude and dismissive, just like her own father. She doesn’t know that Theo is struggling to control his unexpected desire for her and the guilt that accompanies it. He has never felt this spark of attraction for any other woman since he met his late wife who died a couple of years ago. Days later, Theo, a bodyguard and security expert, is assigned to protect a senator’s daughter who just happens to be his son’s art teacher, Ava. She is none to pleased to have a bodyguard, but being around the guy who sets her on fire while still being terse and arrogant is torture for her. They find common ground on one topic only…..his son Cory. After witnessing a rather strained relationship between father and son, Ava helps Theo to relate to Cory more through the topic of art. Neither expected a chance to give into their desires, but they find that just one time is not enough. They agree to keep their intimate relationship a secret though both find it hard to keep their hands to themselves. When it becomes clear that the threat to Ava is escalating, Theo realizes his ability to protect her has been compromised. To keep her safe, new bodyguards and a safe house are necessary. When Ava asks if there is a future for them together, Theo fails to answer. What happens next? Was it just a passionate affair or the start of a happily ever after?
I loved the realistic and fascinating characters in this book. The storyline is both intriguing and captivating. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Daddy's Law, one of the 14 books in the Silver Fox Daddies series, was about 24-year-old Ava Cruise, a private school art teacher and daughter of a senator, and 42-year-old Theo Phillips, a widowed father of 11-year-old Cory, one of her art students, as well as the bodyguard hired by her father to protect her. When Ava's father decided to run for governor, he made some campaign promises that rattled certain people the wrong way. There had been an attempt on his life that Theo had been hired to deal with, and he had. However, Ava's dad hadn't her about it until well after the fact, and then only because he was afraid the man was going to go after her next as a means to get to him, which was why he hired Theo to be her bodyguard. When Ava found out, she was none too pleased, especially as she and Theo had already had a run-in or two that didn't go well. This was another very long-winded book that was so full of fluff that it was on the edge of boring. Oh, it had plenty of angst and drama, with a touch of humor. But it was a good 20 chapters too long. There was so much repetition and rabbit holes that it was too easy to get lost in the various plot twists, as well as quite a few unresolved issues. Too many times I had to fight to stay awake to finish the story. The two main characters were well-developed, but the FMC was more mature and stable than the MMC. He tended to be more wishy-washy and out of his league throughout the book. I can't say I liked him, but neither did I hate him. He was just...blah. Too many times this man was shown the error of his ways by someone else...including his 11-year-old son. The spiciness of the story was good at times, but at others, it was a bit too much. I couldn't give this a higher rating than three stars, and that was being generous, mainly for the FMC and the 11-year-old son. They made the story where every other character just fell flat.
I know this was an age gap story, but it so did not feel like it. Ava has a father who’s life in politics apparently has led her into harms way. I causes two people who have lives who are already interrelated for one reason, but now are about to become that way for an entirely different one. You see, Ava is an art teacher and one of her students has a dad who is a bodyguard for a living. So, I know it is a little cliche to have the situation where you have the damsel in distress (art teacher who needs protecting) mind you she doesn’t think she does and nor does she want it; then you have the hero, the bodyguard who is there to protect her from harm. Theo is also a widow and his son is very talented at art. I found as I was reading that I loved how easy it was to relate to the characters. As things flow, Ava finds herself in a situation where she now is constantly surrounded by Theo and struggling with her attraction to him. He is having the same. Can they resist each other maintaining the professional of the situation they are in? The situation with Ava’s father finds itself at a point where she can no longer stay in the care of Theo. It is too much risk to Cory (Theo’s son) and to her, so it decided to put her in a safe house. As she is there new things develop and Ava will now be faced with looming questions about her and Theo. Can they be together after all this is over? Does he want to be with her? Does the age difference matter? Just when she thinks she is wrapping her mind around one set of issues the unthinkable…what happens to Ava? Is she okay? What about her and Theo? This is a great book full of amazing laughs and sighs and oh of course you have to read the ending. You might even say oh my gosh! Enjoy!

4 stars. The romance between Theo and Ava was tender and sweet. There is like a 20 year age gap but I don't really feel like it's mentioned all that often so it's easy to forget about it as you're reading.
Theo is an awesome dad to his 11 year old son Cory, although Theo and Cory are both kinda sad and lonely since Cory's mom Cassandra was killed in a car accident 2 years prior. Ava is the daughter of a senator who's been receiving death threats. She teaches Cory's art class and she's already a bumbling mess around Theo when she first meets him. Then Ava's dad hires Theo to be her bodyguard (not knowing they already kinda knew each other).
For their relationship to succeed, T & A have to figure out a few hurdles: (1) Theo needs to figure out if he's ready to move on from his deceased wife (is he ready to commit to someone else? what does he want his future to look like?) (2) Theo needs Ava to be safe, which means he can't be both her bodyguard and her lover (his objectivity is compromised); (3) they need to be sure Cory is okay with having Ava in his life in a more permanent role.
I liked a lot of the elements of this story until it got near the end. The eco-terrorists go nuts and Theo goes all badass vigilante and everyone ends up in the hospital and it was all just too much. As a bodyguard, why wouldn't Theo be wearing a bulletproof vest? And how would he have forgotten that he'd put a tracker on Ava? I mean, it's all just a little TOO farfetched. That whole kidnapping section could have just NOT been in there and the story would have been much better IMO. Anywho, everyone heals up, and Ava, Theo, & Cory welcome a new little member to their family 8 months later.

*spoilers* Theo has a son named Cory, who is eleven years old. Two years ago his wife Cassandra died in an accident, he has not even thought about another woman since her death. He spends a lot of time away from his son, cause he works in the security business. When he finally comes home, he realises, that he and his son are drifting apart more and more. Ava works as an art teacher at a Willingham academy and Cory is her most gifted art student. He wants to compete at a art showcase, which he is very young for. Cassandra wants to talk with his dad, who is finnally back. They had a brief enccounter before at a café, which was embarassing for Ava. Theo is harsh on her, but they immediately find each other very attractive. Theo acts a little out, cause he has the feeling he is betraying Cassandra. Ava's father is campaigning for senator and always talks Ava down for becoming a teacher, he wanted her to attend law school. He receives death threats and is attacked. When the attacker gets bail, he hires a bodyguard for his daughter, who turns out to be Theo. After a short while Theo and Ava get close to each other, on the emotional and sexual level. Theo is torn between being her bodyguard and being close to her. When the threats become close, he has the feeling he has to make a decision between keeping her save and keeping her his... Also there is the agegap and she wants a family, he does not want anymore children and how will Corybe affected? This story goes is very emotional and the characters are so genuine. Another great work of KC Cowne

In this book we meet Ava Cruise and Theo Philips. Ava has an after school art club that she really enjoys teaching. In fact one of her favorite students is a boy names Cory. When she sees Cory be bullied she tries to step in but without seeing what happened it makes it harder when he says nothing. When she finally catches them they are removed from the program and she tells Cory how even though it is for older students she would like him in the end of year art exhibition. Cory is tried until they have to talk to her dad. The same man she literally ran into in a coffee shop. Theo hasn't been as involved in his sons life as he would like with his job and having a hard time since losing his wife. He knows something is going on with Cory but just figure out what it is. With his son not talking honestly with him he is left to wonder what he should do. When Cory's art teacher that he raves about asks about putting him in some end of year art project he is hesitant to put that kind of pressure on his son. When he sees his son's disappointment he wonders if he taking the one thing right now that makes his son happy away from him. The other problem is he can't get Ava out of his mind. He always vowed to only love his wife but is their a chance for them for a HEA?
Amazing story by this author. These characters really jump off the page and grab hold of you. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I loved this book right from the start and was amazed by how much. Widower Theo and his son Cory have built a life after she passed away but it’s not been easy and both are struggling to find there way. Ava Cruise is an art teacher at Cory’s school and they have formed a great bond over art together and Ava is impressed by how talented and smart Cory is but he is new to the school and is having trouble fitting in and two of the other boys give him a hard time and Ava puts a stop to it. Theo is a bodyguard that’s just finished his job for Mr Cruise a politician who upset some people but the man is in custody now and everyone is safe. Ava and Cindy are at the cafe where Ava eyes land on the gorgeous and sexy older man and trying not to show how interested she is to her friend Ava runs right into him and the sparks are flying and the it’s over. Theo is called to duty once again after the man that tried to hurt Mr Cruise is set free and wants revenge but it’s his daughter that needs him now. And Theo knows it’s the same woman he meet at the cafe and the same woman that keeps invading his dreams. Ava’s father has hired her a bodyguard and she is not happy until she meets the gorgeous god from the cafe that’s to be her bodyguard. Can these two keep there hands to themselves and keep it all professional or are they fighting a loosing battle, while Theo is trying to keep her safe the lines get blurred and danger strikes. What happens next you’ll have to get this book to find out.

KC does an amazing job blending suspense, age gap, and widower single father tropes into this awesome book. I loved the characters! Theo and Ava are wonderful characters that you will fall in love with. The protectiveness that Theo shows for Ava will melt your heart!
I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Theo at first. I understand that he’s a widower but he was definitely still in love with his late wife. It can be hard to transition that into finding new love. Luckily KC did a great job writing about his first love leading into struggling with his feelings for Ava before finally allowing him to realize that he deserves a second chance at love.
Although Ava is the art teacher for Theo’s son, they begin spending time together because Theo is hired to be her bodyguard. Her father is a politician and an attempt was made on his life. Their time together turns super steamy as these two give into their attraction.
Read their story to find out what happens when an attempt is made on Ava. Will Theo be able to keep feelings out of it? Will their age gap be too big to overcome? What will happen when Ava discovers something while hiding away in a safe house? I loved every steamy minute of their story and definitely recommend it.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! Ava is sweet an art teacher who teaches gifted kids, so loves kids but needs a break every now and then from it all. Her father is into politics and hired a bodyguard to keep her protected she doesn’t like the fact his live is putting hers in danger. Theo sexy as all get out bodyguard and single dad to one of Ava’s students, they meet at a bar where he is being typical all business nothing fun about him and then again when he picks his son up from school. Little does she know he is the new bodyguard hired by her father to protect her so if she feels like they got off on the wrong foot from the start it is only going to get worse. But she couldn’t be more wrong oh he is all business but the chemistry is instant and intense, neither of them can ignore the magnetic pull between them so do they give in to the pull, will he protect and keep her safe, will they find common ground to stand on with his son and is there happiness for them?
This is a smoldering older guy, younger woman romance. It starts out with Ava, a high school art teacher, having coffee with her best friend when she sees a silver fox with broad shoulders and a tight black t-shirt. She accidentally bumps into and basically embarrasses herself by being flustered and tongue tied. Fast forward, she is helping one of her art students try to be acclimated to a new school because he has jumped a few grades. She invites him to take part in the senior end of school art exhibit because he is one of best students. She has to speak with his widowed father for permission. Lo and behold, it's the silver fox from the coffee shop and he is a gruff serious person, who is kind of an *ss to her. From here, you'll have to read it for yourself. It is a wonderful older man age gap story filled with romance and sweet moments. I highly recommend this book even if you're not into this type of romance because it has wonderful characters, a great storyline and is packed with steamy scenes. I loved everything about this book and I highly recommend it. The author has delivered another chart topper!

What a fantastic book! The storyline was brilliant and had me gripped from the start. When Ava is in danger her father hires a bodyguard to protect her. Her bodyguard, Theo, is 20 years older than Ava but it doesn’t change the chemistry she feels between them. She finds out that he is actually the father of one of her art students which adds more complications to the whole thing. The more time Ava spends with Theo the more attracted to him she becomes however when she is in danger at her home Theo moves her in with him until they can find something safer. A relationship between Theo and Ava develops but they keep it hidden from everyone however when they have a conversation about the future Theo makes it clear he wants completely different things from Ava leaving her heartbroken and when she is moved to a safe house away from Theo she knows it is over. When Ava is kidnapped Theo races to save the woman he loves, only he doesn’t know Ava has a surprise for him. I loved the characters in this story despite the age gap you could feel the connection between them. A gripping read that had me on edge right the way through. Fantastic book!

This Book One is the first story about Theo, Cory and Ava. Theo is Ava’s bodyguard who is assigned to be her protector and he can’t help it that he is twenty years her senior and the most handsome silver fox she’s ever laid eyes on. Cory is Theo’s 11 year old son who is Ava’s student. Ava is the Art teacher at a private school and she is also the daughter of a U.S. Senator that has an angry group after him and he is afraid they will go after Ava in order to get him. This story is a wonderful romance that also has unbelievably matched characters, and chemistry that is completely off the charts hot but it also has its fair share of danger, suspense, kidnapping, drama, attraction, lust which leads to love. Lots of ups and downs, guilt, with some should I’s and should we’s thrown in. Theo has his previous wife who was killed in a car accident that he is trying to process his feelings, he thinks he is betraying her if he cares for another woman. Can Theo and Ava work through all these obstacles? Can they get to a HEA that they deserve? This is just a very good love story with so much more. One of my truly favorite authors. Looking forward to book two in the series. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.
Move over David, there’s a new hunk of marble in town This OMYW romance story is about Ava and Theo. After her school day, Ava met up with her friend Cindy for tea and cake. A gorgeous older man walked into the coffee shop and she couldn’t help but take all of him in. She gave Mr. Tight Shirt an easy 12 out of ten. She left in a fluster after her friend’s teasing and crashed right into the guy. She was mortified. Theo is a bodyguard after retiring from the army, and is waiting for his next assignment. Ava is his son’s art teacher at school, and they’re both surprised when they see each other in the car park one afternoon. They share a mutual annoyance for each other, but there’s also an attraction. And she’s also to be his new client, as the senator’s daughter. He would need to keep his feelings in check if he’s to keep her safe. So when she’s taken, is he able to do his job properly and save her? There’s drama and danger, mixed emotions and an age-gap love. I give this book four protective stars. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Someone threatened Senator Cruise's life so he hired a security company to protect him, which Theo Phillips did a wonderful job capturing the guy. When the courts released him on bail the Senator wasted no time hiring Theo to protect his semi-astranged daughter, Ava. Ava taught art at Willingham Academy where Theo's son, Cory attended. The Senator did not approve of Ada's degree and did not help her through school. He wanted her to go to law school. Ava was not happy about having a bodyguard, especially the father to one of her students as it turned out. They had off the wall chemistry as much as they tried to exnore each other. Ava was drawn more and more to Theo and Cory. The threat became all to real with Ava having to go to a safe house leaving Theo and Cory behind. That was when they learned their feeling had grown past attraction to love and Ava discovered she was pregnant. The action soon got even heavier as Ava and the Senator were both kidnapped from their safe houses at the same time. The minutes were counting down in this fast moving action packed romance.

Trigger warnings Death of wife Kidnapping Violence
Ava (mfc, teacher,24) Cindy (best friend) Theo (mmc, ex-military,) Duncan (mfc dad) Cory (mmc son) Cassandra (dead wife, Cory's mom)
Ava teaches art at a private school, Cory is one of her students. Theo was protecting Duncan, but the job was supposed to be over. Then Duncan demands Theo protect Ava, without telling Ava or explaining the danger. Theo and Ava do not get off on the right foot, even if the attraction is insanely hot between them. Theo is having problems connecting with Cory since Cassandra died, Ava makes it look easy. Theo struggles with the attraction, partly due to his job and the age difference, but also because of the dead wife. The threat level drastically elevates and Ava is missing. Can Theo save her? Will he get over his issues and accept that he loves her in time? Couple of typos but the story was otherwise great. Just the right amount of danger and steamy scenes to keep your attention. Glad Duncan pulled his head out of his butt longer enough to acknowledge he was in the wrong to Ava.
Loved it!! Every book I’ve read by K. C. Crowne is just awesome! Each and every one sends you on a true adventure that you read while you are on the edge of your seat the whole time you take twists and turns in this book your hero is an older military single dad turned security bodyguard. Our heroine is the daughter of a senator who is targeted by a hate group seeking revenge on the senator. Our heroine is an art teacher at the bodyguards sons school. While he guards her, they get close. Our bodyguard is taken off of duty after our heroine is sent to a safe house with new guards. The hate group is still out there, and they are closer than anyone knows!!!! What happens next will have you flipping pages and gripping the edge of your seat!! I could not put it down!!!! Very well worth reading!!

This book brings us Theo and his son Corey, and Ava. Ava is an art teacher who teaches Theo's son Corey. Ava has a special relationship with Corey, as he loves art as much as she does. Ava's father is a politician who decides to run for office, but in doing so, is getting threats and he feels that in order to protect Ava (they don't have a good relationship), he hires her a bodyguard, aka, Theo. Ava is shocked when she finds out that Theo is Corey's father. Theo is a man of little words, just interested in protecting Ava, but the more time together, they realize they have feelings for each other, that could compromise Theo's duty to protect her. While Ava doesn't think she is in danger, she proves to be a handful to Theo. That is, until she is kidnapped and Theo is besides himself. He vows to find her and tell her his real feelings. This was such a great read and I HIGHLY recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.
