My Rebound is the second book in the ON MY OWN Series by Carrie Ann Ryan and while it can be read as a standalone I would suggest reading it in the order of release since this series revolves around a group of friends and they will flow in and out of each of the books even if it isn't theirs. This is Pacey Ziglar and Mackenzie Thomas' story.

Pacey wasn't in the plans Mackenzie set out for herself, she always pictured marrying longtime boyfriend Paul Sanders until their very public breakup now she doesn't know what her future is going to look like. She is trying to adjust to so many new things, first the breakup, she is moving in with her friends Nessa, Natalie, and Elise, and she has to find a professor to be her advisor on her thesis. So when Pacey suggests a "Rebound" for each of them she goes for it, what's not to like about the idea, he's hot and they get along so a friends with benefits and no strings rebound sounds perfect....only what happens when she starts having feelings for him?

Pacey has always been a bit of a mystery to his friends, and we find out so much about him in this story. I really liked him and understood why he held himself back a bit. The connection between Pacey and Mackenzie was great, I really like them together.

This has a been a fun series and I cannot wait to read more of it. If you enjoy Steamy New Adult Contemporary Romances this is a series you will want to read, and if you love Friends-to-lovers or Opposites Attract Romances this is the book for you.

Happy Reading!!!

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

I was super excited about Pacey and Mackenzie's story, since that awful betrayal at the end of book one, and i loved how they happened in a fluid way, even if I found lots of similarities with book one.

Pacey was a sweetheart, even if he sometimes was clueless to his surroundings. I liked that he was always there for everyone, and i could relate to his disappointment with his parents...

Mackenzie was a bit flat in my opinion, but she also grew up on me when she started to spread her wings and take charge of her life without a planner.

This series is sweet and addictive, especially if NA college romance is your guilty pleasure.
This whole group matching up and living all their experiences as a huge family, is kinda of cool.

🎧 About the Audiobook Narration 🎧

Narrated by Shane East and Emma Wilder.

I don't know why it was Emma doing the narration again, since she did for Elise one the first book... She's really good, but it was weird to hear her again on Mackenzie.
On the other hand, Shane East and his accent can narrate every single British character over there, and I'll be okay with that.
Yes! Double standards and I don't care. 😂

My Rebound by Carrie Ann Ryan was a medium angsty friends to lovers story. This is my first read by Ms Ryan and despite this being the second book in the series, it was pretty easy to follow along. Overall, it was a really great read and I really enjoyed it! The story moved along pretty well and was very well written. The characters were endearing. We all have a friend like Mackenzie. A self-proclaimed nerd, geek, and dork that’s a super control freak that’s a little obsessive and slightly neurotic. Actually, I think that’s me. I’m the friend, lol. Mackenzie's recent breakup has messed with her head, messed with her plan, and is making her feel more adrift than comfortable. Pacey is an all around good guy both likable and supportive. His more relaxed nature seems to balance her out. He’s been Mackenzie’s friend for a while and when she mentions she needs a rebound he selflessly (ha!) offers himself as tribute. Both Pacey and Mackenzie eventually end up struggling with the “rebound” label, especially when they become each other’s main support as they both go through new struggles. A great read and I look forward to Nessa and Miles story!

This is my kind of rebound! This is a delicious new adult series with friends to lovers vibes- and bonus points for giving me a hero named Pacey (yeh, my DC love is strong). We have that great new adult, everything is more dramatic angst (but not too much), and ample steam. The characters were likable and endearing- loved our geeky and quirky heroine as she tries to rebound from her long time BF cheating, and Pacey is a pretty yummy hero, if a bit elusive at first- laid back, understanding, and has some swoony moments. And together they have pretty great chemistry both as friends and lovers. Loved watching these two figure out they’re more than just a rebound- which turns out to be more complicated than either expected. This was a fun and sexy escape, and I’m excited to check out more from this series!

I thought this book was amazing! Mackenzie is the type of character that so many readers will be able to relate to. She has her plans and she has her goals and she knows where she's going....right up until she doesn't because...while you plan, life laughs. So yeah, if you're like me you will feel for her. So, what's a girl to do?? Don't worry, she's got a plan! LOL Honestly, I just loved this book. It was fun and sometimes funny, had a huge heart and was really quite moving. Pacey (who was all kinds of swoony) and Mackenzie kept me company on a wet, brisk day and they put a smile on my face, made my heart melt and had me feeling just a bit warmer by the time the book ended. What a truly delightful read! I'm independently posting an impartial review.

***Audiobook Review***

This is the second book in the On My Own series, and my first read/listen by Carrie Anne Ryan.

My Rebound is a fun, sweet, sexy, passionate Friends to Lovers college romance with low drama and angst. I really enjoyed listening to Mackenzie and Pacey´s story.

Mackenzie Thomas thought she had her future all planned out, life, studies and the guy who was supposed to be her forever, but everything changes when she walks in on him cheating. From that moment, all she dreamed of and worked for is seemingly taken away from her. Thankfully, she has friends who stand by her and do everything to keep her spirits up, especially this one handsome Brit who may offer more than just friendship.

Pacey Ziglar is the perfect guy, kind, polite, handsome, sexy, the total dreamboat, but he is also her ex-boyfriend’s former roommate and has his own secrets, which he is reluctant to share. He offers Mackenzie to be her Rebound but will this Rebound become her forever?

I really enjoyed this story because it´s relatable. I can identify with Mackenzie a lot, as, like her, I am a planner and had similar experiences. Isn´t it funny sometimes how you find a story that pretty much resembles part of your own life?

This story is about facing unexpected challenges, welcoming change, overcoming insecurities, and about hope, love, and friendship. It reminds us that plans sometimes don’t go the way we want and that we just have to move on and make new ones, take a chance or go with the flow.

Shane East and Emma Wilder treat us to this aural delight. They are, as always, fantastic! There are a few moments they had me choke up! They are just great at setting the mood. I can listen to Shane any day,any time as his voice just makes me smile and swoon. I love listening to Emma because her male voice is a swoon fest all by itself.

I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure how I would like MacKenzie and Pacey as a couple but it really worked. I did feel for Pacey though because he didn't want to hurt anyone but he started to have real feelings for MacKenzie even though they were only supposed to be friends and the casual rebound. MacKenzie is also great. Her character grew so much throughout this book and though she was dealing with some everyday college stuff she was also dealing with stuff that the average college student doesn't deal with. I thought the book was a quick read and kept me interested throughout.

This one picks up right where we left off with Pacey and Mackenzie at the end of My One Night. You don't need to read the first one, but I think you will enjoy this one more since there was stuff that happens in book one that keeps getting mentioned.

Pacey and Mackenzie weren't supposed to fall in love. It didn't fit into her lists or his plans. He sure did keep a lot of stuff from his friends. Lots of drama, angst, sexy times and good friends.

Can't wait to see how Nessa handles this

Mackenzie and Pacey - this story was soooo good. Kenzie had just broken up with Sanders who she had been with since they were very young. She caught him having sex with someone else at a party to see what it was like. Mackenzie decided she needed a rebound guy and Pacey volunteered. They were borh attracted to each other, but fought admitting it. In the end, their friend Nessa was crushed as she thought she loved Pacey and he just hadn't seen it. I really enjoyed visiting with the characters from the first book of the series and now we had a hint of what might happen with Nessa. I was very glad Mackenzie stood up to her math professor as he was very much a chauvenist. She didn't need him after all.
Very good read. Couldn't put it down.
I got this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review

This book is so sweet and at the same time bring all the insecurities and anxieties of being a twenty year old in this new brave world.

Mackenzie and Pacey are friends who have been through a lot of pain in the past year, she broke up with her long lasting boyfriend and he lost a very close friend suddenly. They are kind of adrift and decided to be each others rebound... They were not prepared for the feelings they long for each other but it happenned anyway.

A very sweet book with lots of friendship and love.

I just loved it!

My Rebound
On My Own, Book 2
By: Carrie Ann Ryan
Narrated by: Emma Wilder, Shane East

I am loving this series. This is like an ensemble cast, so while the books standalone, it's best to read/listen to them in order! Mackenzie only knows the love of one man. From childhood to college, she was with Sanders, until he does the unthinkable. Now, out of the guys' house and her life she is trying to find her footing. Pacey has always been smitten with Mackenzie. He holds some secrets that keep from relationships, but when he suggests he be her rebound, she takes him up on it. And our story begins. It's fun and flirty, and I absolutely love this couple! Pacey is very humble, just want to be one of the guys, and is extremely attentive when it comes to Mackenzie. Mackenzie has a lot to digest and I love how she blossoms in this story. It's a wonderful, easy listen and I can't wait til My Next Play to hear Nessa and Miles story!

Emma Wilder continues her narration of the women in this series. She falls into the new adult genre with such ease, sounding like she is in college, all the angst and emotion that it entails. Shane East comes in as Pacey, and with his voice, it's impossible not to love him. He is warm and loving, and as he falls, East's voice has us falling too. A great duo for this one!

4.5-stars!

My Rebound by Carrie Ann Ryan is the second book in the On My Own series and I loved it. Mackenzie is a woman with a plan and determination. But when her plans get blown up, what is a girl to do. Enter Pacey. Her rebound. Right? But as she learned the hard way, plans do not always go as planned. What happens when your rebound changes everything? A friends to lovers story that was fun, a bit angsty and steamy and cannot wait to see what comes next in the series.

Happy reading!

I enjoyed this book, but I have some criticisms about it. I loved Pacey and Mackenzie together, especially after what Sanders did to her. And I wanted to slap Sanders in this book when he decided he made a mistake and wanted her back. Add to that, his "friend" Hunter who does everything in his power to ruin Mac. Not a fan of either of these guys.

Pacey has secrets. Lots of secrets. And I get why he has them. Dealing with an organ transplant and all of the ramifications afterwards (even many many years later) is not easy. And he's in college and doesn't want people to think of him as weak or to treat him differently. He wants to fit in and not have people constantly worrying about him. However, realistically, that's not possible. Once you receive a transplanted organ, you entire life is turned upside down. The meds you have to take constantly and on a timeclock. You have no immune system and the slightest germ can put you in a hospital. Life is different and you aren't "normal". You are not like other people your age. There are ways to adjust, but there is always differences.

I love that Mac is so concerned once she knows what is going on with Pacey. I also love the fact that his "roommates" and their family have decided to get tested to see if any are a match in case he ever needs another kidney. And that is entirely possible. Most transplants only last 10-20 years and since he was so young when he had his, he will need another one in his lifetime.

I realize I have focused on the transplant topic of the book and it was not a "major" storyline in it, but it hit close to home for me.

I felt that Mac, being the odd girl out of the four, was hesitant yet supportive. And, because of Hunter, she got screwed over in her studies. So when she had the chance to give her professor that turned her turn to be her advisor and the internship, I was so proud of her. It seemed like she was hesitant to upset the norm, but she found her backbone and let him know exactly what she thought and I was cheering her on.

I'll admit I wasn't too impressed with Mac originally but I loved Pacey. I wasn't sure how their pairing was going to work. And I still don't know if they will work out once they are out of college, but that is life.

Shane East was a great Pacey. His British accent is such a thrill to listen to. And Emma Wilder as Mac, and all of the other girls, never disappoints.

4 Stars … My Rebound (On My Own, 2) is a friends with benefits college romance that is told from the first-person point of view of Pacey and Mackenzie.

Mackenzie is looking for a rebound to help herself get over her ex who she caught cheating on her. While having a conversation with her friend Pacey, she mentions to him her plan and he offers to help her with her dilemma. One night together should allow them both to release some tension and move forward but too bad they fell for each other.

Pacey and Mackenzie's story is full of secrets that just keep popping up at the most inopportune times which ends up turning out to be a good thing for Pacey and Mackenzie as they end up turning to each other for support which in turn helps enrich their connection and relationship. I am looking forward to more of this series and this group of friends.

Audio … Shane East and Emma Wilder were great choices for this story and the characters that they brought to life.

Carrie Ann Ryan captures all the unharnessed angst and passion of her characters as they navigate their lives as new adults in Rebound!

When college students Mackenzie and Pacey confronted their attraction the last thing they expected was to blur their clear boundaries. This couple naturally gravitated to each other and it was easy to see why. Their similarities in finding comfort in their practical studies and predictability made their decision to enter into a no strings relationship seem to be a no brainer. The problem they ran up against is that emotions are anything but predictable and labels are not always accurate. Both Mackenzie and Pacey were in possession of big hearts to match their big intellects and the more time they spent together the more they realized that maybe their plan to remain detached was not as full proof as they thought.

This friend to lovers’ scenario was well devised with the build up of this couple's friendship flaming their physical attraction. This writer gave a lot of introspection in her story and while there were more than enough dramatic events the real focus of this work was how Mackenzie and Pacey evolved as a couple and individually. The secondary cast were great catalysts in moving this pair in the direction they needed as well as being entertaining and intriguing in their own rights.

Carrie Ann Ryan saw clear to the hearts of her portrayals in Rebound even while they struggled to navigate the pressures of life and their new roles as adults. This author did a wonderful job of conveying the steep learning curve of commitment, sacrifices and partnership. Being in the now while coming to terms with the past and planning for the future was done extremely well. Carrie Ann Ryan gives a good argument that love follows its own rules in Rebound!

*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
*While part of a series this book can be read as a stand alone. *

Mackenzie Thomas has a plan for everything, including the path her love life will take. But when she catches her longtime boyfriend cheating on her, her carefully crafted plans begin falling apart.

Pacey Ziglar offers to be Mackenzie’s rebound - to help her find her footing as she makes a new plan after her breakup.

There is a lot going on in this story that I wasn’t expecting from the synopsis, and I’m not going to hint about what those pieces were except to say that I loved how everything blended together as Mackenzie recovered from her breakup and Pacey did what he could to support her.

I was entertained by this couple from the very beginning. I loved Pacey’s protectiveness of Mackenzie, his interest in helping her recover and find a new plan. He understood her need for order and preparation, and though he didn’t need the same structure he knew she needed to have things lined up.

I enjoyed returning to this group of friends. They faced a blow in My One Night that has them doing what they can to move on. While each book in the series stands alone, part of Mackenzie’s arc involves her finding her own place within the group of female roommates after they’ve moved to a new house. I am looking forward to continuing this story after the teaser at the end!

My review is written voluntarily after listening to the audio version of this book.

This is Makenzie and Pacey's story, we first met them in book one My One Night, Makenzie being the long-time girlfriend of Sanders one of five guys sharing a house on College Row.

Makenzie and Sanders have been together they liked to say "almost from the cradle" she had her entire life planned out but then all her plans are forced to change when she discovers Sanders with another girl. Obviously, she's hurt but now she has to figure out how to cope when all her plans are now in ashes.

I must admit that on first meeting Pacey he wasn't someone I wanted to know better he seemed top aloof but when MacKenzie seems to be unwilling or unable to move on he offers to help her by being her Rebound. But as we already know things don't always go to plan, sometimes fate throws us a curveball.

As Pacey and Mackenzie's personal lives being to draw closer together both of them have to face changes, he has to come to terms with changes within his family, he also has to learn to let people in and not be so insular, something Mackenzie helps him realise. Whilst she has to face the fact that not only her love life has to change she will have to face changes in her academic life too. All her plans will need to be redrawn!

As they explore the changes in their lives both together and apart, they have to come to terms with their feelings for each other are they going to just be friends with benefits or have they found something real? The connection they form is definitely one neither can ignore but will it stand the test of time?

I enjoyed this thought-provoking, steamy read which held my attention with ease from beginning to end.

The narration of this book by Emma Wilder and Shane East is very well done, they each perform wonderfully lifting this wonderful story to an even higher level.

I really enjoyed this story! It was great to see Mackenzie come out better from what Sanders did to her at the last of the first book in series. (Don't worry if you haven't read it, this one does explain what happened so you won't be lost). I loved how Pacey was ready to be a friend and whatever Mackenzie needed. I loved how that he asked what she needed and really listened. These two were not set to have anything serious, it wasn't even going to be a typical rebound but they just fell together. I loved how their relationship built and how they tried to communicate their feelings and what was going on, even when they didn't fully understand it themselves. They just got each other. I loved how Pacey understood her need to have a plan and lists and need things defined and never took offense to them. It really just made these two work from the beginning. That's not to say that they didn't have their issues that they needed to deal with and overcome. Both were overwhelmed with outside issues that kept throwing their lives upside down. I loved getting to see these two come together and be better for it. This story definitely pulls you in and connects you to the story and the characters. You can really feel for both characters and what they are going through and the changes that are out of their control that they have to keep adapting to. I loved how these two were such great support for each other during those times. They let each other be who they needed to be during those moments and supported what they needed to adapt and move forward. They made each other strong. I loved getting to know Tanner and Miles better as well. I can't wait to get their stories.
The narrators were great. They added another layer to the story and brought it to life. They were great with the voices and emotions for characters throughout the book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I’m a sucker for a friends to lovers story and My Rebound hits everything I love!!

Mackenzie has had her whole life planned for as long as she can remember. From what college she would attend to the job she had to the man she would marry. Her planner has never failed her. Until her ex decides to throw her plans out the window. Add on the issue with her internship and it’s like her Life is spiraling out of control. All she needs is one night. One night of fun and of letting go. When the sweetest of men offered himself up, the way no way she would let herself refuse.

Pacey, I think I fell in love with him several times over throughout the course of the story. Sweet and sexy combined with this giving and chivalrous nature. His laid back and go with flow nature make him that much more likable. He’s one of those people that knows how to make someone feel good about themselves in a genuine way. Was he self-sacrificing when he offered himself up or was that his way in to something he didn’t even realize he wanted until he had it.

My Rebound was fun, sweet and sexy. I am not a huge fan of new adult romance due to the fact that they contain just too much angst for me however Carrie Ann Ryan has the perfect recipe of mixing just the right amount for making a good story. Pacey and Mackenzie are so different from each other they balance one another perfectly. We’re he’s laid-back and easy-going she’s got everything planned out and color-coded. They complement each other nicely and their chemistry is something that definitely works. I very much enjoyed seeing needs to come together even though they fought it they found their way.
I’m looking forward to see what Miss Ryan has in store for The rest of this tightknit group of friends.

This was a new-to-me author who just blew me away with this book. It is the second in the series and I do wonder if I would have had a better feel for the story if I read the first book, but I did follow along easily. This book was so amazing, I was hooked from the very beginning with the Dawson’s Creek reference (Team Pacey Forever). Mackenzie had just ended a relationship she was in for years after he cheated and Pacey decides she needs a rebound. Their chemistry is on fire! They were really bad at this rebound thing because their feelings were evident from the beginning. Mackenzie has a lot of growth throughout this book. She is someone who plans and makes lists and has everything figured out, but in a short amount of time she loses her boyfriend who she thought she would marry and she loses her spot with her Professor which could derail her plans. Throughout the book she learns she can’t always have things planned out and she adapts to her new situation and learns to stand up for herself. Pacey has a secret that he has been keeping from everyone about his health and I really appreciated the mention of the bone marrow registry. Mackenzie is there for him through all of that and they grow even closer. Her ex Sanders tries to cause problems between Mackenzie and Pacey the main conflict comes from Pacey’s father and his revelations. It shatters Pacey and he has to figure out how it affects him and if it means he has to give up on Mackenzie. Pacey was the best part of the book, everything he did was swoony and made my heart melt. I adore this group of friends and will be looking forward to reading more. I highly recommend this book

Mackenzie and Pacey!!! I LOVED this story! You met Mackenzie and Pacey in My One Night and I am so glad that they end up together in this book!

Mackenzie just got out of a long term relationship with her ex Sanders, she is ready to move on and just be Mackenzie without everyone is asking if she is okay. Pacey is Sanders ex roommate and a new friend to Mackenzie. You could say all the guys took Mackenzie's side in the break-up. Pacey offers to be Mackenzie's rebound for her. It does not have to be sex, he will be whatever Mackenzie needs him to be, first date, first kiss etc. But can your rebound turn into something real?

I adored Mackenzie. I can relate to her so much! She is a girl that likes a plan, who doesn't love a plan? I feel like her break up with Sanders was not that hard on her, what was really hard on her is now her life is going to go in a new direction. She will need to come up with a new plan and that scares her. Pacey is the perfect guy for her. They both love math and plans. He can come her down when she needs it, he can relate to her. Also, Pacey is a sweetheart. He only wants the best for everyone and puts everyone before him. It was beautiful when he finally started to put himself first and be open and honest with his friends.

This book is amazing and Pacey and Mackenzie are on fire! Seriously, hot hot hot! I love this series with the two houses of roommates. Looking forward to the next one!

My Rebound, the name doesn't do it justice.

The second book in the On My Own series by Carrie Ann Ryan, My Rebound is funny, spicy and so much fun to read. When meeting Mackenzie and Pacey in the first book; My One Night Stand, I couldn’t wait to get their story.  Mackenzie just got out of a very long-term relationship with her ex, Sander and to be honest, I feel like she didn’t take it as hard as I thought she would. Nevertheless, Mackenzie is a fun character and I couldn’t wait to see how her story turned out.

Pacey is a friend of a friend, an ex-roommate of Sander’s and ready and willing to be Mackenzie’s rebound guy. At first, I wasn’t sure how his relationship was going to be with Mackenzie; but then, they were friends, they were nerding out over math together, laughing and having fun. Pacey gives off a major boy next store vibe and I am living for it! He’s just a nice guy, maybe a little rough around the edges, but a heart of gold beats inside.

Pacey and Mackenzie have the best chemistry and the most fun together, being alone for the first time in her life, Mackenzie is a little lost at first and then she does my favorite thing. She plans! Oh come on now! Who doesn’t love a planner girl? I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this book, it was funny and loving to read. C.A.R always knows how to write a book series. I’m very excited to see Tanner and Miles again! Fingers crossed.

This is my first book by Carrie Ann Ryan and what a treat. It was a different change of pace from the darker and grittier books I've been reading lately, and I very much enjoyed this! My Rebound is the second book in the On My Own series, which focuses on a group of eight college friends and their relationships with each other. My Rebound is the story of Mackenzie, who has just broken up with her longtime boyfriend after discovering him cheating, and Pacey, who seems to have not gotten serious with anyone.

Pacey and Mackenzie are friends, and Pacey offers to serve as her "rebound" to help her move on from what happened. What starts off as friends testing the waters, takes a turn for the romantic. However, both of them have a number of complications in their lives. Mackenzie is having problems with one of her professors and placement she needs and Pacey with his family. I very much enjoyed reading about Mackenzie and Pacey - this was a sweet romance and I can't wait to read the next installment in the series. I should also note that although there was a lot mentioned from the first book, I hadn't actually read that yet and had no problem keeping up or following along. Planning to read My First Glance next!

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and have voluntarily left an honest review.

This is book 2 in the On My Own series and I would absolutely read the first book before reading this one. Yes, it could be read as a stand alone but these characters are all interconnected and I honestly think it would make more sense if you read the first book. With that being said, in this one we get Pacey and Mackenzie's story! Mackenzie has had her life planned out since she was little, right down to who she would marry. But when that relationship ends in a huge way, she decides to throw out all her plans and make new ones. And her biggest one is to have a night of fun with Pacey. She thought it would just be one night. She never planned on falling for the man who was just supposed to be a rebound.

I really liked Mackenzie from the start. She is likable and relatable in ways that I think a lot of people can understand. We all feel like her at some point in our lives. And with how her relationship ended-we have all been there as well. Pacey also has things going on in his life that no one knew about. He hides things so well that you never know that there is something much bigger happening. I really wasn't sure how these two would work together, but honestly they complimented each other in ways that I didn't expect. Their chemistry was there from the get go but they also had friendship there as well for them to build off of. There is laughter, love, but also just great friendships. Definitely well worth the read!

I don't have words to tell you how much I enjoyed this book. When I finished reading My one night, I wanted to know more about Mackenzie and Pacey. They were so wonderful characters I just craved for their stories I just didn't imagine they'll end up together.

Mackenzie is 'making plan for every step' kind of person. She has all her life planned, yet she is thrown into a situation where all her plans come to the ground and she is forced to forget about all her already planned life. She is forced to start living. She is such a strong female character, full of confidence and desire to sucess. I really loved her beautiful personality.

Pacey is the one who surprised me the most. When we meet him in the first book, he is a calm, 'know it all' person, who gives great advice. In the second book we get to know his life story which is pretty complicated. I loved his confidence and kind heart, but got pretty surprised that on the other hand he is a broken boy, looking for his own place in the world.

Honestly, I loved this book! This one has it all: it's funny, has a great backside story, well written characters and in the end it's quite moving. Mackenzie and Pacey are really the qutest couple ever, they will break your heart and peace it together at the same time. Can't wait for the next one.

5 Stars

Mackenzie and Pacey have a chemistry that has been bubbling beneath the surface for some time. When the opportunity arises for them to act on it, they both have some reservations. Mackenzie knows she should be focusing on herself and how to get most of what she wants for her future. Her plans have altered in ways she never expected, and for someone who is very rigid in terms of plans, this has made her feel as if she is on very shaky ground. Pacey never gets serious with anyone, he has secrets, some major, some just plain personal, so keeping his distance makes things easier. He also doesn’t know where he will wind up, he has been in America for a long time, but could still end up back in the UK for grad school. The thing is, he can’t resist giving Mackenzie an offer, to be her rebound, so she can move on from Sanders. When Mackenzie accepts his offer and these two decide to go on some dates, they become more involved in one another’s lives than they has ever planned. As stressful and serious incidents occur in both their lives, both Pacey and Mackenzie begin to depend more on one another and their connection. As both of them try to manage changes to their lives that effect their futures, they also start to realize how much they want and need each other to feel complete.

Mackenzie has had her whole life planned out from a very young age, but her whole world comes crashing down around her when she catches her boyfriend in a compromising position with another girl. Now, Mackenzie needs to figure out who she is and who she wants to be. Pacey's own world is being turned upside down when he learns his parents are divorcing. Pacey is also shocked to learn his dad is having a baby with his mistress. Pacey has also been keeping a big secret from his roommates about his health. Pacey has been there for Mackenzie since the moment her world fell apart. Pacey suggests he be her rebound with no expectations. What happens when feelings get in the way of what was only supposed to be a rebound? How will Pacey's friends and roommates react when he has a health scare? Will Pacey be there for Mackenzie when she needs him the most? Will Pacey and Mackenzie realize they are better together than apart? I absolutely loved My Rebound by Carrie Ann Ryan! Pacey and Mackenzie are a great couple who work together to overcome the issues they are each dealing with. My Rebound is a great book with twists and turns that will keep the reader on the edge of their seat. I would highly recommend getting My Rebound by Carrie Ann Ryan. I received and ARC copy of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
