Everything we find in the Bible—every book, every author, every literary genre—points us to God. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments tell one unified story about God’s love and purpose for humanity and His plan to rescue us. This Is the Old Testament, the first Study Book in this series, traced this story with thematic selections from each Old Testament book.

In this second Study Book, we’ll spend five weeks reading selections from every book of the New Testament to see how each contributes to the greater narrative of Scripture, from Jesus’s birth and ministry on earth to His triumphant return. At the end of this study, you’ll have a framework for reading the New Testament and a better understanding of its role in redemption history.

That was a marathon! Old and New Testament complete!

Going through This is the Old Testament and This is the New Testament back to back has been a great way to get an overview of the entire Bible. I usually study one book of the Bible at a time using a book or commentary alongside the text. Unfortunately, that sometimes misses the overarching message of the Bible and how each book of the Bible fits into God's story. This study has been a great review and offered a broader perspective and a reminder that God has a large story to tell of love and redemption as well as His infinite glory.

What a great Bible Study (5 weeks long). This is the New Testament is a Biblical Survey of the New Testament. You go from Matthew to Revelation, seeing Jesus life, death, and resurrection. Watching Jesus' disciples spread the gospel. It shows the Bible as one long redemption story, our redemption through Jesus Christ.
