Rate this book
As an omega, Stellan is supposed to want a pack. Instead, he wanted Elise, another omega.

Left behind, Stellan tries to move on with a heart as broken and bruised as his opponents after a fight in the ring. Fighting is all he has, and as an omega, he breaks all the odds. When a bid goes bitter, he’s forced to pay it back with his own blood. At least until he’s rescued by a handsome alpha and taken home to his pack.

A pack that already has an omega.

Face to face with the omega who left him, Stellan will have to fight his own instincts to find happiness.

Fate brought them back together, and this time, Stellan isn’t letting Elise go, no matter what opponents they have to face.

It's been a long time since I've actively disliked a book. Reading this story was a pointless time suck. It could have been all the flashbacks or the fact that the story begins with relationships already set. But what bothered me the most was a strange dynamic between the two mc, they felt like brother and sister so their "love” was disturbingly icky until further into the book. Even then I wasn't convinced.

Who were the other men in her pack? There are vague descriptions of them and there is zero character depth. They were the absolute wimpiest alphas I've ever read!!! Stellen, the male omega had more fire than all the alphas combined. Also, I don’t care that he smelled like chocolate chip cookies, please stop telling me every chapter.

This is the kind of story where you'd be ok if the guys picked each other and let the girl go. Elise comes off as needy and annoying.
“You almost left without a kiss,” she said, starting up at him with her best puppy dog impression. Lower lip puffed out, widened eyes tilted up to him.”
Overall, the story didn't flow well, and the drama was completely trivial. I kept putting the book aside to read anything else.

In the end I wanted Stellen and Niles to run off together and leave the rest behind. I’m going with two stars, only for Stellen.

I wanted to love this.some spoilers

I really wanted to love this. Let me first preface that I love the sweetverse/omegaverse as a genre in general. This one didn’t do it for me.

Let me start by saying the book was a little hard to follow, it was written in different POVs but it didn’t say who’s view it was speaking from, so you had to read it and do process of elimination. I love that it’s told from different POVs but not everyone has an equal voice or representation in the book, so it was a tad confusing at times. From a style of writing, I felt that there were things missed. Like moments where the one character is doing something and then a second later they’re doing something else- like going from point A to point C, skipping point b, and making it a little confusing. Also, I wasn’t a fan of the nickname for the male lead Stellan… he was referred to as Stella. It didn’t fit his personality at all. It made him sound fem and he wasn’t. It was a poor choice of names in my opinion, and downgraded his sexy badass omega self.

To be honest it was confusing whose book this was supposed to be Stellan’s or Elise’s. The simple answer is that it’s their shared story, and I’m not sure I liked how it was formatted. What I mean is that it takes place after stellans best friend, one true love and omega, Elise finds her pack and starts off a year after she’s been with them and they’ve been separated over a year. There’s no before context it’s just some flashbacks. I’d love to have seen them as children then young adults, then adults, including going to the university. It was missing that component to make the story feel more in depth. The time frame for the story didn’t do it any favors. It felt like it was missing a key component.

Let me preface I didn’t like Elise. She was touted as the go getter and whatever she wanted she went after and got. She finds out her fellow lover, omega roommate stellan, hasn’t picked a pack because he never wanted to leave her behind, she was his everything, so she pushed herself into a pack that yes, she really liked, but didn’t fully commit to it. Her relationship with said dedicated pack, was unformed. She didn’t fully bond to all members and she was still pretty awkward with them and hid a huge part of herself and life story. I couldn’t understand how she felt guilty leaving stellan behind but never went after him to talk to him? He never moved from their shared apartment, he’s basically a creature of habit , has the same job, hobbies and ect and all she did was attempt to call or text. Why wouldn’t she barge her butt in and demand his friendship/companionship/love? They grew up together. Years and years of bonding, love, and friendship and she just took a giant turd on it. Then she couldn’t even try to commit to it by giving her new relationship a chance. She doesn’t deserve stellan. She doesn’t even really deserve her pack. She just quit her job and plays video games all day (which great for her) but she literally turned into a non productive lazy person while her alphas bankrolled it all. They cook, clean, and give her gifts…. What does she do? She works out by boxing (cue eye rolling) and doesn’t even attempt anything but a surface level relationship with her pack.

Out of all of that, my biggest disappointment was the steam, and lack of detail and imagination. Details were surface level and vague. I didn’t like how the omegas didn’t initiate physical contact with the alphas. It was always the alphas doing stuff to them. There was no real reciprocation. And if there was it was talked about in past tense as a reflection, no actual scene. I mean where’s the real heat? Speaking of which, the heat was lackluster and not well described. There wasn’t any information on the backstory of this omegaverse, just a small blurb before the book starts but no real background info to back that up and solidify it to a point where you feel emmersed in this new culture/way of life. It’s missing world building.

Sooo. I'm not entirely sure what I feel about this.
On one hand, Kole is getting better. I'm in love with the idea of this story, and there are some parts in here that are well executed.
However, there are several things that annoy me.

- flashbacks galore. Almost every chapter in the first 30% start with a flashback. That's too many.
- only one, maybe two of the alphas feel properly fleshed out. If you can't give proper voice to all of them, it's time to cut them out of the story. Oh, and why would you give the artist character the name Art? Just *sigh*
- the repetiveness of certain topics, e.g. scents or "they already have an omega". If I need to read about Stellan's chocolate chip cookie smell one more time, imma--
-no man with the name of Stellan would ever allow themselves to be called Stella. And no, it doesn't help the reader to suddenly have to read about Stella all the time. Like when did that female character get into this book? I was pretty sure I was reading about a male omega. It's too confusing.
- the tension points in the plot are too easy, is how I would phrase it. The one between Stellan and Elise is good, but it's resolved too easily. The tension between Elise and the alphas is obvious, but it's hammered in too much. The tension on Stellan's part is a bit stupid. They are just too easy plot points. A bit more complexity would've been more natural. I do remember this from the previous book, though, I thought things were just too easy, all the time. Make them work for it, please.

All in all, now that I've made it through the book (I skimmed through the ending, because I just needed it to end) I think I'm more disappointed in this than Kole's previous addition to the series. This could have been a lot more angsty, and I did cry eventually in this, but that passed in a chapter or so, because as I've stated previously, things are just resolved too damn easily. And that's when you skim through the story to just get it out of the way.

I’d rated my last 10 reads 5 stars each. I was riding a perfect wave and it was a matter of time before I crashed. Unfortunately Fighting Instincts was just that for me.

The plot made little sense and I didn’t really like the characters that much. I feel like some characters made questionable decisions for the sake of the plot and the drama. It just didn’t feel genuine to me.

I just can’t believe we were supposed to be into those 4 Alphas. Their inability to satisfy their omega was a big turn off for me. I didn’t find anything sexy or alluring in the bunch of vanilla, generic dudes. They were boring.

Elise wasn’t much better. She and Stellan had been together since they were kids. They were a couple but somehow acted like they weren’t because they were both omegas. It was fucked up.

Elise loved Stellan and yet, she left him out of the blue, because she was supposed to find a pack and be their omega. I’m sorry but I don’t like characters who hurt their love interest for no good reason. She even went as far as to say she did all that for him. Insert massive eye-roll.

And then she spent a year not getting what she wanted from her Alphas and didn’t speak up, but we have to believe she’s a very strong-willed Omega. Ehhh nah.

She wouldn’t have done anything if Stellan hadn’t shown up in their house. She wasn’t fighting to get back to him or to get him to join their pack. So she hurt her true love, left him for something unsatisfactory and was doing nothing to fix things. Simply put, I couldn’t stand her.

Stellan was the only semi decent character, but then he decided to spy on Niall to get out of that supposedly dangerous situation, acting completely out of characters based on everything we knew of him so far. And when things started to develop between him and Elise and her pack, instead of trying to talk to them about the situación, he decided to just keep lying to them with some bullshit line about ruining his chances to be with them without even trying!!!

It pissed me off, man. Especially because I knew once the pack found out, they wouldn’t even care (which I was correct, btw). So the so-called conflict was nothing in the end. It was pointless drama and as so, it didn’t affect me as a reader at all.

Greyson in general pissed me off. I just couldn’t deal with his bs.

The only relationship that seemed genuine was the one between the two omegas. But it felt kind of fetishized when the alphas were involved.

The sex scenes were disappointing. I don’t know, there were a lot of cliches and ideas just badly executed. It tried to be risqué at times but felt flat.

The fact that Stellan joined the pack while Elise bonded with all her alphas and he was just there… the whole pace of the story was off and it even made me uncomfortable at times.

Overall, I just didn’t care. I’m sad because I was hoping to love this one as much as Baby and Lola ☹️

I was a bit disappointed with this one unfortunately. I love the sweetverse books and was really looking forward to this, but there were quite a few issues that I can’t look past on this one.

My main problem was that I went into this expecting a RH, but this doesn’t really fit my definition. It’s a poly romance. Which, there’s nothing wrong with, but it’s not what I was looking to read. The book has several POVs, but it is primarily told from Stellan’s POV and he is our protagonist. He’s the omega they’re saving and incorporating into their pack. Elise is the girl thrown in to make it seem like and RH, but she’s not the center here. In the same vein, this was way more about the m/m relationships than about the m/f relationships. Elise felt like a side character. While I don’t mind m/m content in RH books, this felt like it was a m/m book with a little m/f sprinkled in so it just didn’t fit what I would be looking for.

Next issue is that it felt like cheating for a lot of the book. We eventually know that Elise is okay with sharing her pack with Stellan and Stellan with her pack, but I feel like stuff starts to happen before they really all establish those relationship rules and boundaries. The lack of clear communication about it raised some red flags that didn’t feel right to me. Also it seemed like Niles was way more into Stellan than into Elise and after him and Stellan get together it feels like him and Elise are basically over even though they’re bonded. Just weird.

The alphas are really side characters, we don’t learn much about them and they just seem sorta pathetic and feminine. They didn’t really fit what I would expect from Alphas. It’s possible to be sweet while still being assertive and in control. They just seemed lost and unsure until Stellan came in and took the reigns. I agree with other comments saying Stella was more alpha than any of the alphas

The plot was just wayyyyy too easy. I was expecting some intense drama at the end, but realized that for the last 85% I was like living in a mini epilogue of rushed sex scenes and mating bites. It felt like the author wanted to fit a scene with every alpha and each omega into the book and decided to just smoosh them all in at the end right after each other. (I find this to be a common issue in standalone RH)
She does add another little plot wrap up after this, but again it’s TOO EASY. There is no big drama, nothing to make the reader worry.

This is a really long book that consists of primarily flashbacks and descriptions of scents, but not too much else. I think the idea here was pretty good, and I liked Stellan’s character, but the rest fell a bit flat for me.

I'll be honest, Kathyrn's books are much better for me, I literally fell in love with Baby and Lola, but Lyric and Elise weren't really to my liking.
I just didn't like the protagonists, and the action seems kind of meaningless. I understand the presence of an antagonist there, but it's absolutely for nothing.
It was better to make the story centered only on the love story.
It was okay, I don't regret reading the books because of how much I loved the first 3 in the series. The word mediocre fits very well.

I LOVE Lolas book… but this one.. just didn’t hit the spot for me. I woke up today and literally squealed when I saw this book was out.

The book is nice- but I don’t like books where the relationship has already been built. I like to see the relationships form in the book.. the two main characters are already in love.. Unfortunately this wasn’t for me

I appreciated Elise's stubborness this time around. Stellan was hard headed but once he was in he was all in. The stuff with Lucas was a pain. Greyson almost screwed up there turning on Stellan. Just proves communication is key. I liked that the two of them were civil and the little hair ruffle at the end there. Nice little connection to Nohen. Still one of the best double omega books.

Moving up to 5 stars. Elise and Stellan were sweet. I'm surprised the alphas never scented them together before Elise left. It was Stellan/Niles and Elise/Greyson heavy with Jackson and Art in the middle, so did feel a little unbalanced, but at the same time it felt like they had an alpha each of their own. Lucas was a dumb fuck criminal and I'm a little gutted he managed to cause doubt and misery before the truth came out. After all the teasing, I did want a scene where the alphas watch them play with toys and Stellan getting pegged. I liked Stellan and Art together best. A shame Greyson was a one omega man.

I really liked this one. Well Stellan’s part at least. I’m not sure how I feel about Elise. It was a nice change having the focus on two characters, but even better being a lot of m/m. It was nicely balanced and I liked that Stellan wasn’t a stereotypical omega. Elise felt like a follower that went with the flow. She left Stellan, making him and her new pack miserable by holding back. I did like how she fixed her mistake though by pulling Stellan into the pack. Lucas was a nasty piece of work, but it was nice he was taken care of so easily. The solo alpha was a little strange, it kind of felt like Stellan should’ve had his own one too. The rest of the pack was sweet and I liked the pacing. Looking forward to whats next in the sweetverse.

I do so love the Sweetverse! Elise and Stella are perfect and their Alphas are adorably fantastic. The beauty of the Sweetverse is the exploration of relationships beyond that of Alpha/Omega. With Baby, we got a pure and beautiful relationship with an Omega and her Beta. Lola gave us perfection with a Beta relationship. Lyric and her Beta. Instincts shows us the love between two Omegas, whose lives aren’t complete without each other. The Alphas are there, their relationship with both Omegas are there and important, but that never ending love between Elise and Stella is the driving force behind the entire pack. Without Stella, the pack was not cohesive and not fully a pack. Stella brings everyone together and ties up their bonds. 💜

I almost DNF’d this book and pushed through just because I really love some of the other books in this series.

For me this book needs to be reorganized. The big climactic moment happens about 60% of the way through the book and the rest seems like one VERY LONG epilogue. Also, the stakes in the big reveal that Stellan was hunting for dirt on Niles felt wrong to me. He was literally dragged into the house unconscious, told he couldn’t leave, didn’t actually provide any info to the bad guy, and came clean about it relatively early, yet Greyson acts like it’s this horrible betrayal. The reaction just didn’t fit the reveal, and the attempt at tension didn’t match what had happened.

I think what would have worked is if Stellan had given Lucas some info on Niles or someone else in the pack and it came out later, perhaps while Stellan is considering bonding with Niles.

All the tension in this book is resolved far too easily and far too quickly, except for between Stellan and Greyson where it is the opposite. I ended up really disliking Greyson’s character because it continually felt like he didn’t want Stellan around and that was never resolved in a satisfactory way. He’s a bit too possessive and he seemed like he’d be more at home in a mafia/billionaire/Dom monogamous relationship - he wasn’t giving the poly positive vibes I love in an omegaverse book.

In fact, I think I would have liked more of the characters if the story was primarily told from Elise’s point of view. By starting with Stellan, I am immediately on his side and I needed Elise to grovel, which she never really does. I also needed Stellan to push back more, perhaps actually attempt to leave the pack as a self-sacrificing move. Or Stellan needed to be a beta, because the pack seems to lean primarily toward Elise, even after they accept Stellan. (I also didn’t like Elise’s character, probably because we don’t get enough background on her.)

Another fun read in the sweetverse

Been waiting for a book like this for awhile, ever since baby mentioned wondering what it would be like if two omegas got together… well now we know and it was everything I didn’t know I wanted. The only thing I wanted more of was a better look at the alphas careers, to get to know them at a deeper level. Granted that would make the book even longer but I wouldn’t complain lol I like the longer books, makes you really get into the story more. But all and all I really liked this. It was worth the wait and I will for sure preorder again anything Lana does in the sweetverse series. I am sad I don’t get to read more after that ending, I just didn’t want it to end there. It was a great end, don’t get me wrong, I just want to keep going. Well until the next book I’ll add this book to my reread list.

Fighting for Love!

Lana Kole hits it out of the park again with the newest addition to the Sweetverse. Taking on the traditional alpha, beta, and omega tropes, Ms. Kole twists in compassion and complex understanding of her characters feelings and growth throughout this standalone.
Stellan and Elise are omegas, brought together by tragedy and cling to one another through their formative years. When Elise finds her pack like she thinks she’s supposed to, the two split paths. Life is funny though, sometimes, and a series of interconnected events bring them back together, along with Elises alphas.
Found family meets friends to lovers, Ms Kole weaves an unconventional story about two omegas finding love in an impossible world.

Oh man I absolutely adore this sweet verse. Lana Kole does this world amazing justice. This book is right up there with Kathryn Moons. Elise, Stellan and their alphas had me wanting so much more while I was reading and the story just kept delivering at every turn. It’s angsty, it’s sweet and it’s bad a$$. All I can say is just read this!!!

I enjoy this universe a lot but I'm not sure this book fully hit the mark for me. I did really enjoy the dynamics of a bonded omega with their alpha pack, and the way this book explores the relationship between the pack after the initial mating. This is a pack that, despite caring for one another, is not synced or cohesive yet. I like that we get to see the very human part of these insta-relationships, what happens after the initial mating passes and it's just five near-strangers learning to live together.

Now, the negatives: the plot just... Fell flat. The bad guy was painfully two dimensional and woefully inefficient. There really was a missed opportunity here for some interesting character development, had Stellan actually gone behind the alphas' back. It really felt like everybody took the easy way out and things just worked out perfectly. A little too perfectly. It made the book lack... Spark. Lack personality.

The sex scenes were fun, and the characters were mostly great. Both Elise and Greyson felt very much secondary in a way that's perhaps inevitable when your cast is so large, but also felt a little bit like a missed opportunity. Greyson especially way just very... Boring.

I did enjoy the story and Stellan. A bit more polishing and plot-tightening could have made this a stronger book.

Least favorite

Conflicted. Can't say I loved it, can't say I hated it, the book has me torn that it might have been good if it was a series and was more then this one book. The thing is this story all together didn't flow right. The story just didn't connect in a way it needed to, and I think that was mostly because how short it was? There just wasn't enough time to cram everything that needed to be said or done with everything that was going on. It lacked getting to know these alpha in depth? It was like they were apart of the story but also not? The two omegas took up most of the read, and I got that, they were super important. But so we're the alphas? Them as ppl and Individuals was so freaking needed. When they start to bond with either of the omegas, it was almost a rip off of what could have been! It was sloppy and so disappointing. Again this could have been a great series, if taken the time and effort to slow it all down, take ones time to hone this all in. But instead its was way to separated and we got little connections we needed terribly? definitely my least favorite of the series

I just finished this amazing read and there's so much percolating in my mind. First I have to say how much I ADORED Stellan! He was by far my favorite character. He was genuine, sweet and broke my heart and made me happy. Then Niles just made me melt - by far just the sweetest Alpha of the group he inspires insta-love. Art was funny and just completely swoon worthy. Jackson too was awesome. I had the least love for Greyson probably in indignation of his original dislike of Stellan but he was a cute teddy to Elise. Then there's Elise - the one they're all in love with. I have to admit it took me some time to warm up to her in all honesty. I think it was a personality thing - she was strong and opinionated but did not speak up and irked me so. But as the story progressed so did Elise's character and when she finally yelled and demanded what she wanted I was proud of her. The development of their story was sweet and super cute and I just really, really enjoyed this read.

Fighting Instincts was good!

Fighting Instincts, book 5 of Sweetverse by Lana Kole Lana Kole. Lana is a newer author for me. I liked & finished this book because I wanted to know how the HEA happened but I won't read anything else from Lana as her writing isn't for me. It starts WAY too slow for me 🤷🏼‍♀️

I liked this book about Stella, Elise, Niles, Jackson, Art & Geyson. Tropes: Contemporary Omegaverse, Reverse Harem, Why Choose/Poly/MM, Omega Male Boxer, Female Omega, 4 Alphas, An Omega joining an established pack, Omegas bonding each other, Slow/Medium Burn, Blackmail & HEA.

I was so excited when this came out because I love the sweetverse world.. had to take a break because it didn’t hold my attention but forced myself to come back and read.

This dynamic just didn’t work for me at all. The whole thing seemed strange.
So Elise has been with these alphas for a year now but none of them seem happy at all. Because she wants Stellan…. We’ll go back to him

The elements are here, but the execution still needs development.

I did enjoy this book more than the author's previous work in this series, though this one suffers from the same issues I took with that one. FI is long, but it spends words on the wrong elements, which causes the first 55% to drag and then the final 45% fly. Seriously, it took me all but the final day to read the first 55%, then I couldn't read the final part fast enough as the story finally moved its ass forward. I enjoy a long book and a slow burn, but this wasn't it.

The first half was a lot of tail-chasing circular inner-monologue repetition without any forward momentum. It was an aggravating snooze while trying to figure out why I should be cheering for any character in this book.

It would have been nice to have used more of those words for better character development—especially of all the alpha pack characters. They felt very flat and they seemed summed up by one word descriptors—Stern. Artsy. Anxious. Marshmallow.

And. Too much dwelling on scents. It's a huge OV element, but we do not need to see 2+ times on a page what someone smells like. It can be spread out as a reminder, but I was so sick of seeing mentions of citrus and cookie dough by the first 25%.

Okay. Let's shift gears here.

I did appreciate that the premise for this one was something I haven't really seen done before in a longer story: 2 omegas who are in love, have a long term relationship, but one decides they need to try and do things ✨right✨. Neither of them are happy about it and both are unable to move on in the year since they technically broke up. Because the Sweetverse is dedicated to consent and respect between the dynamics in a pack, the impasse in Elise's pack makes sense—they're all too polite to trudge into the emotional depths and uncover what the issue is, so they politely orbit each other. This isn't traditional het OV where the Alpha forces and makes everything happen. Makes sense in this universe.

The antagonist and motivation were fairly weak, but the confrontation scene was an improvement over Lyric's story.

Overall, not a bad addition to the series.

I’ve been devouring this series but I did not like this one as much. I found the characters, especially Elise, totally unlikeable. Elise did not seem to fit with the pack, and frankly none of the pack seemed to make sense or get along or even like one another. It also just felt pretty slow and drawn out.

3.5☆

This is one of those books where I have mixed feelings 🙈
There were so many elements I enjoyed, in particular the fact majority of the book was from Stellan's POV, it was interesting to read things from a male omega perspective. And of course two omegas - I loved their past relationship and how they reconnected.

However, I felt the book was a little too slow burn, not much happened in terms of relationship development until the last few chapters. This made it difficult to connect to the Alphas, especially as some were more developed than others, which means I haven't been able to form my own opinion on whether I like them.

I do love the uniqueness of the Sweetverse compared to regular Omegaverse romances, so I definitely will be reading more from this world in the future ❤

I never realised this was actually called Sweetverse, but I've seen that name come up a lot, and you know what I'm totally here for it! Stellan and Elise were everything to each other, even though they were both Omegas, but Elise moved on, or so she thought when she met her Alphas, her pack. It isn't till the two cross paths again that they realise just how much they need each other.

Each Alpha brings something different to the table, and they were written so perfectly. You really get to know about each and every single one of them and grow to love them almost as much as Elise. It's quite a chunky story but I do love a long story sometimes and this one certainly didn't disappoint.

This book needed more jackson overall and more interaction between stellan and Jackson. I did not connect with elise at all or how she was written but overall I enjoyed this book.

This is too slow-burn for me. At least for this moment. I may come back and finish it later. When I started the book, I thought there would be more steamy moments but it wasn’t living up to those expectations. I also find that I am not quite loving all the flashbacks. The author includes the flashbacks wonderfully; however, I find that I don’t like the jumping around.

This is a review comparison between Sweet Omegaverse writers Kole and Moon, and their latest novels. I posted the same review on Bad Alpha.

Kathryn Moon set up a fun world building series with Baby and extended it with heart and more depth with Lola.

Kole picked up the banner in Lyric, which was missing that level of heart and depth, but was still enjoyable enough. Unfortunately, I don't believe Kole grows at all with Fighting Instincts. In fact, she might take a step back.

As I said, I enjoy the universe and I don't mind that the stories or characters may be laid out formulaically: this designation is supposed to do this/act like this/want this, but they don't, and oh wait, someone(s) change their mind. My main issues with Fighting Instincts is that the characters and story are very one dimensional, especially when compared to Moon's stories. Perhaps this is due to Moon shifting character perspectives in chapters more often. Ultimately though, this book reads as if Kole wrote out story points on notecards and just went to hit each one without developing transitions or character arcs for most participants. The two main omegas are very redundant, and although that is a theme within the Omegaverse, they began to get grating. I didn't enjoy Elise's character at all (it really felt like the character just did whatever the writer needed her to do and it wasn't authentic; she was a prop) and although I did enjoy Stellan, he was just sketched. The plot was dragged out for too long without progression, and the adversary/conflict was too convenient. The conclusion was also too convenient and not super interesting. Niles was probably my favorite character, but he was also probably the most fleshed out. I think the Kole has the ability to go for it more. I don't feel she's confident in her writing or development, and I hope to see her prove me wrong with her next book.

With Moon's Bad Alpha, she tackles Eve who appeared in Lola's second book. Eve did seem like a fun character to explore more and I enjoyed reading about her journey. And she was fun. I liked the way she developed, even if I didn't feel it was quite as visceral as Lola's journey.

Moon does action a lot better than Kole, and therefore, there was more of a realistic adversarial storyline that was followed through with more heft. Where I absolutely loved Lola's books, I just liked Eve's book. It was good, but also having read Kole's two books recently, I was starting to get a little too used to the formula of the story. Since there will be more time between the next two novels' releases, maybe I'll be happy to revisit common ground. I would caution Moon not to get too complacent with her stories as I think there are a lot of different combinations that can be interesting beyond the obvious.

Not what I imagined

So fighting instincts was an exactly what I thought it should have been I guess. Like I didn't love it I didn't like it but I didn't not like it I just felt Meh about it. Like I felt like the characters weren't really explored enough and we were just kind of given like a specific detail that made them the person they were like Nile's was a entertainment agent, Art was an artist Jackson was a doctor Greyson was a like P.I. I feel like we got a bunch of stuff but like also nothing at all. And then like the story was confusing of whose story was it was, is it Stellan story or elise's story like it was just really confusing cuz I felt like yeah it's more of a joint story than specifically about Stellan. Like they didn't want him to feel like an addition to the pack but that's literally what he was im pretty sure, well that's how he came across at least to me. I wanted to like Elise's character but like I just didn't I liked Niles a little bit Arturo seemed to be fun Jackson was adorable I don't know something about Grayson just didn't sit with me. Like I get it two omegas and four Alphas but one of the alphas is only a bonded alpha 2 one of the omegas so it's like a solo couple inside of a pack I don't know I just I don't know how I felt about it whatever. I just feel like this story definitely still kind of put Stellan on the back burner. So yeah not my favorite book definitely my least favorite in the Omega very sweet verse series two out of five stars
