But even though Chloe and Peggy search the beach, they can’t find a mermaid anywhere. Not wanting her friend to be disappointed, Peggy decides that she’ll just have to become a mermaid herself! But that means that she’s going to have to learn how to doggy paddle…

Min femårige har fået den læst højt til godnathistorie og tredje omgang med mopsen Peggy er ok og uskadelig underholdning. Sød. Først og fremmest sød. Man savner lidt fantasi og ramasjang. Hunden bekymrer sig godt nok stadig lige lovlig meget om sin ejers ønsker og behov... Jeg mener - det er en mops i en børnebog! Den skal da bare være fjollet og skæg!

Den danske oversættelse er lidt ude i skoven.

It seems Peggy the pug will do anything to make her human friend Chloe happy. In this installment, the family is going on vacation to the beach and Chloe wants nothing more than to see a mermaid. Naturally, Peggy does everything in her power to make this wish come true.

A seven- year-old told me this was her favorite book (so far) in the series so, of course, I had to read it. I can see why she enjoyed it.

Cute little book. Read this outloud to my kids one chapter every night before bed. They seemed to enjoy the story even though I found it pretty slow moving. I feel like the pug could have been involved a lot more especially as it’s named after the pug. But a sweet little tale of a family on vacation!

Kolejna dobra pozycja dla młodszych czytelników. Ostatnio jestem bardzo fazie czytania takich książeczek, więc pojawi się dużo recenzji. Ta historia jest czymś co wydaje mi się, że trafi do każdego dziecka. W tej serii mamy też dużo innych książeczek i wydaje mi się, że to jest dobra seria na czytanie np. przed snem. Rozdziały nie są jakieś długie, no i zawierają też obrazki przez co dziecko przed snem może sobie oglądać. Styl pisania jest dosyć przyjemny - dla mnie jak i dla mojej siostry. Jest ona w trakcie czytania tej książeczki, więc moja recenzja będzie oparta też trochę na faktach i na opinii młodszego czytelnika. Jak wiecie moja siostra na codzień nie czyta książek, a po tą sięgnęła całkowicie sama. Jest dużo bohaterów, ale nie jest to jakieś trudne do zrozumienia - kto jest kim. Wszystko jest pisane z perspektywy pieska i jest to bardzo ciekawe, bo widzimy świat oczami postaci, która widzi wszystko. Zapamiętanie kto jest kim nie jest trudne, bo poznajemy tutaj rodzinę, a potem poboczne postacie, które wystepują przez chwilę. Głównie skupiamy się na piesku i rodzinie, która wyjechała na biwak pod namioty. Dodatkowo mamy temat dinozaurów, a wydaje mi się, że młodsze dzieci bardzo interesuje ten temat. Pojawia się tutaj też dialog pieska, ale rozumiemy go tylko my. I mojej siostrze na początku to przeszkadzało, ale teraz do tego neutralnie nastawiona. Jest to Płynna i szybka historia, więc gdy dziecko siada, to przeczyta od razu kilka rozdziałów - bo jak wspomniałam nie są one zbyt długie. Jest to naprawdę bardzo dobra książka, szybka i krótka, więc nada się dla każdego dziecka.
