Decent book for beginners interested in starting out their plant collection. I really liked the idea of figuring out the purpose of your collection, such as having it for home decoration purposes, to get food from it, to promote a sense of peacefulness, etc. I hadn’t thought about any of these things when I first started getting plants so it made me look at gardening in a different way. There are also some tips on taking care of your plants but they were very broad and not super in-depth, which is good for those dipping their toes in the water but I think it may be a bit repetitive for those who already have experience in planting. That being said, I still did learn some things that I didn’t know before. I believe most of this book is a sort of guidebook for different kinds of plants one can try as well as basic care information for each of them. Overall I think this is a good introductory book but not something that I gained much out of especially since I’m trying to have a more curated plant collection and not get new ones at the moment. I’m glad I borrowed this from the library instead of purchasing it.
