Well how can I NOT give this 5 stars? The Lion King will forever be one of my top favourite movies and this was a really interesting book about the making of this film and the story behind it. (True fans read the whole script!!)
As a big fan of The Lion King, this book was a must have addition to my collection. While I expected to love it because it contains the script of the movie, I wasn't expecting to find the concept art, stories and facts about the making of the film to be as interesting to me as it was. I thought I knew a lot about the film and wouldn't find anything new of interest, but it turns out there is a lot I didn't know. It's interesting to see how the concept art differs from the final that is seen in the film and find out more about how it all came together to become one of the best Disney films of all time.
The Lion King is my all-time favorite Disney movie and has been since I was 2 years old. This book is really cool. Not only do we get the full script, but also song lyrics, concept art, and behind-the-scenes moments of how the film was developed. Such a cool volume for my collection
(Copy and pasted from my review of the little mermaid book of this series, which you should also read if you’re interested, for sake of not having original words for the book.)
Literally everything I could’ve ever wanted in a behind the scenes book. Script, lyrics, concept art, notes, frames, actor interviews, and random little tidbits about the production. Would legitimately love if every movie had a book like this.
