A gripping manga based on Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China video game, featuring iconic Assassin Shao Jun. Unveil a tale that will engulf the world.
Shao Jun, the last Assassin in China, has returned to her homeland with vengeance on her mind. The Templar Order’s machinations must be stopped, and only Shao Jun stands ready for the battle to come. Shao Jun has found great success on her mission so far, but now the enemy plans to take the lives of her loved ones. Finding and killing Lord Wei Bin is going to prove to be a true challenge!
A very good quick read. Great artwork, the story is good, but because of the fast paced nature of the book and limited space bit of the story were left out. These missing details are the only reason I did not give it five stars.
This book had a number of revelations and a final decision for both Shao Jan and Lisa. I also like that the majority of book took place in Shao Jan's time. I am looking forward to the next book/volume.
Not as good as the first two volumes but the modern descendent character Lisa and the Templars in the present timeline are both much more interesting than any of the Assassins Creed games modern timeline.
Also just to say, both Shao Jun herself and her descent Lisa are gay af. So one more star for that.
Quick and easy read with nice artwork as usual. For the sensitive readers out there I can see some scenes of murder (with blood) and at least one moment of child abuse as Mari tells her about how her whole life has changed thanks to Lisa so consider that before reading a book about a videogame where you play an assassin. :)
With Shao Jun's master, Wang Yangming caught in a trap it is a race against the clock to take out her target and return to assist him. Wei Bin however is not an average fighter and telling Shao Jun about her master's fate is not going to make her fight any easier with the added pressure to worry about. In the modern world Mari finds Lisa and needs to tell her some things she learned from their encounter with the yakuza appearing man Kiyoshi Takakura. However Lisa is on the verge of real answers as the templars think they are fooling her all while her ancient assassin powers are starting to awaken through the experiences in the enemy's machine that lets her relive her ancestor's memories.
I love the artwork. It’s in the style I enjoy. Minoji Kurata’s choices for the layout in every page within this manga is not only pleasing to the eye but also effective in the storytelling.
I enjoyed the plot development as well as the relationship growth between Shao Jun and Xiao Hu and Lisa and Mari. The story is getting more exciting and I can’t wait for the next volume.
Manga charakteryzuje się dużymi, pięknymi kadrami i minimalistycznym podejściem do dialogów. Kiedy bohaterka atakuje, to jakby zaczynała z przeciwnikami tańczyć, niestety mało kto potrafi jej dorównać.
Eh… the storyline is decent and the art is great but honestly, I’m a little bored? I’m not super invested in this series but yet I always read the next volume. Maybe this series would appeal more to someone who plays the games. I am not much of a video game player so there’s that.
I loved playing some of the Assassin's Creed games and I love China so it is so exciting to experience one of the stories set in China! The illustrations are fantastic and the story is compelling. I just need to get my hands on the 4th volume!
Choć niektórzy mogą poczuć pewien brak świeżości w porównaniu z wcześniejszymi tomami, trzeci tom skutecznie buduje napięcie i przygotowuje grunt pod nadchodzące wydarzenia.
4.25 ⭐ Another great installment - it's really putting me in the mood to replay the games, especially with the mentions of Ratonhnhaké:ton (aka Conner) and Edward Kenway from the modern timeline assassin explaining to Mari the history of the Templar Order and the Assassin Brotherhood.
