You really have to know the lore and the characters to get maximum enjoyment. I have never played Animal Crossing, and, while I thought this was cute, I probably won’t be reading more.

I got the second volume of this manga that I didn’t even know existed mainly because I saw that Isabelle was going to be there in this volume. She is my most favorite animal resident on the island. She is so cute and even though I am not a dog lover, I absolutely adore her. This volume too was cute and funny. Need to get hold of the other volumes.

Finally I found the second volume and boy it was fun! We meet CJ and Pascal, so fishing and diving is in order and I loved it. Especially that last part, oh CJ. And those wisdoms of Pascal are just as *shakes her head* as in the game, love love it. The other stories are great as well and I really wanted to start up my Switch again and get the game going, then I remember how long it took to get everything done and eh, I will just stick to reading this one, haha.
Jack! My pumpkin love! Yes, I do love a Halloween story!
Recommended! This was oodles of fun, the human characters are all so weird, it is perfect.

Loving this series so far! Love reading about Pascal (my fave!) And C.J, snotty Daisy Mae (bleurgh) and Redd. I'm currently trying to get the shops on Harv's island and it's nice to read about the characters visiting the island for the first time again.

I love how this manga is set out in sections, info and tips on each bit about items or characters. Love it!

Such a cute and fun sequel! Loved the first volume of this manga so was really happy when I got sent the second to read and review.
This series is perfect for anyone who cannot get enough of the animal crossing world.
Animal crossing meets manga, what more could you ask for?

A cute continuation of the series. It was fun seeing the addition of more familiar faces from the game. A great read for younger audiences and fans of the series alike.

Another hilarious read! These shenanigans the four main characters are involved keep getting funnier and funnier. I'm really enjoying the series!

Enjoyed this one a lot more than the first one. Some daft punchlines and cameos from a few favourite NPCs.

The four panel comics have changed into a more standard style of manga... though the content is about the same, a gag series with hit-or-miss jokes. There aren't really any gameplay tips in this one, just our eccentric gang of islanders finding new ways to enjoy their island life, including a surprise visitor from another island. A Prince of Frogs.

Introducing our 'new' characters:
C.J. to teach everyone about fishing.
Pascal who is forever searching for scallops.
Isabelle to try and improve this disaster island.
Daisy Mae because TURNIP STONKS!!
Redd, the scheming con artist that we all love.
And Jack for some Halloween fun.

4.5 - I read this entire book in one day. While it is a short manga, the art style is really cute and the way the Animal Crossing villagers are portrayed is exactly how I'd picture them to act if 4 humans really were to show up on the island and do all the crazy things these characters do. Not to mention, I love the bonuses at the end, they add a really complete feel to the whole thing. All in all, I waited for months after I finished the first one for the one to be at my bookstore and it did not disappoint in the slightest

This was also a super quick read that earned itself 3.5 stars. Just like the first volume, it is funny and relatable to the game - lots of things make sense if you play the game!

It made me laugh a few times, but not as much as volume 1. It continues to give more context about the game though. My favourite island character was Himepoyo, as she was super cute and funny!

It’s not a story with lots of depth but it’s fun, quick and you can see a lot of your own gaming experience in it which I like. It’s also nice to see a lot of the villagers in it. I did feel with this volume that some of the diary entries ended a little abruptly, rather than having an ending that made sense, which is why this one is rated a little lower than volume 1. I would also like more of a focus on villagers from the game too, not just new islanders!

I enjoyed this a lot more than the previous one. But again, it's a book for children. Though it's weird that the main characters meet CJ in the previous book in one of those "get to know the characters", or at least one of the main characters meet him, and yet they act like they've never met him before.

There were a couple of chuckles from me in this one more than the last one, I will admit. Though I'm so confused as to who the Prince Rabbit is, like is he meant to be just someone from another island trying to visit someone else's island but he managed to drop into this one? I don't know, very confusing! I will admit, while the character profiles bloated up the previous vol, I liked seeing the little comics of the characters, hope this makes a comeback in vol 3.

Animal Crossing is not my game of choice. This manga gives short stories with all the main characters from the video game. While I liked some of the chapters, I did not find much to connect the stories. I did like the one about art and the sketchy art dealers.

I did feel a little out of place by not knowing all the characters well nor the background of the world.

The humor was on a kids' level and I feel like the younger generation would connect to this manga better than I did. Since the game is all the rage, I think Vol. 1 maybe a contender for my middle school manga madness collection.

So cute! In this installment we get to meet 6 new characters. Pascal wants scallops in return for rewards. CJ doesn’t actually fish??? Well of course he does and he takes selfies while he is at it lol. Isabelle is out giving island ratings or is she taking them away?? Daisy Mae makes her way to the island to sell turnips. Beware of Reed and his dabble in art sales. Finally Jack comes and teaches our residents how to properly celebrate Halloween!

I wouldn't recommend this series at any costs, half of the time, the back doesn't even relate to the game. It's like the author just chose to make up random things.
I own all 5 copies of the series, and I'm going to stop here at book 2 because this series just isn't it, there's better fan made animal crossing mangas that I'd rather spend my time reading. This series is just a waste of time and not enjoyable.

Once again, at the request of my daughter, here is an extremely quick read. An amusing collection of stories about the group of friends living on an island and their adventures as they learn new aspects of island living.

It will make sense if you play the game. Otherwise don't bother. Slightly amusing.

The second book of this manga was less of an introduction, and was split into more stories rather than just character breakdowns.

The story and humour are silly and 'goofy' as the synopsis says, and would be well suited to middle grade fans of AC. Again, the illustrations are cool, and it was entertaining to read something so visual for a change.

30 in 30 - Book 12

I'm enjoying the fact that each chapter introduces a different character from the game, I particularly like Daisy Mae's chapter. still silly and still not going to be everyones cup of tea but I'm all here for the animal crossing fun and will probably continue to pick up the series for a bit of light entertainment.

A sharp pivot in tone from the first volume, much more a gritty reboot … no, of course it isn’t. It’s a pun-riddled, light manga that plays in the Animal Crossing world and is just fun. The other reviewers getting all worked out about something that’s meant for kids and hence is silly, fun with puns and wordplay, and a little bit of snotty humour really have weird expectations for the series.

As a hard core Animal Crossing fan, this entire manga series deserves 5 stars. This was a great sequel to the first, and kept in line with the humor from the first book. I loved all the jokes that poke fun at players especially with regards to placing a piano on the dock.
