My dear friend , Megan, wrote this book. I meant to read it over the summer when it was sent to me , but #ADHD kept me a little sidetracked. I picked it up again in December to finish it before the end of the year. I am so incredibly proud of her work. So you might be wondering , am I biased ? Maybe.

But when I tell you this book is so well done, it is an understatement. The illustrations to the information about each person to the extra tips and explore more sections are just so well done. I learned at least one new thing about each person. Some of the people I didn’t even know about.

This book is intended for school age children and up, and I definitely will have this in my library for my kids to read as well.

If you are on the fence about getting this book , don’t hesitate. It is great !

I gave this book to my grandmother first. She is an immigrant from Germany and has always wanted to learn more about America’s history. Her and I both absolutely loved this book. Not only was it easy to read, but a great way to learn about important people that shaped our history. I’m excited to share this book with the history teachers at my middle school so they can find ways to implement this resource.

I've followed Megan on both Instagram (@toocoolformiddleschool) and YouTube for quite some time and was overjoyed when she shared she wrote a book! This is the perfect book for young historians. Megan does an excellent job in her biographies breaking down major historical moments in a kid-friendly way. This book will serve as a mentor text for my 8th graders next year so they can see how to write as historians in a thoughtful, engaging, and factual way.

An incredible collection of biographies of humans who actually made America great.

Great classroom resource complete with ways for you and/ or the students may explore more as well tips to extend your learning. Great for mini or a great book for students to pick up when they have forgotten their book for individual reading time.

Terrific book for intermediate classrooms! Can’t wait for my students to read it this August! Love that the people were varied and not all were the “typical” historical figures we read about. Interesting and informative! Highly recommend!

Definitely written for very young readers. I think I could use some of it with my English Learners. The book’s design is weird to me, though, with tons of wasted space.
